Elizabeth G. Fussell
Services for Elizabeth G. Fussell of McRae were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27 at Mt. Zion Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
The Rev. Connie Walker, assistant Dan Jones and Bobby Ryals officiated.
Fussell, 77, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004. She was the daughter of the late Welborne and Katie Ginn Greene and was the widow of Raymond Monroe Fussell.
She was a native of Harris County but had lived in Telfair County most of her life. She was a homemaker and was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Tommy Fussell of McRae; daughters, Brenda Hart of McRae and Shirley Batchelor of Meansville; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Contributions may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, c/o Carol Banks, 815 3rd Avenue, McRae 31055.
Vaughn Funeral Home of McRae was in charge of arrangements.

John H. “Johnny” Jeffries Jr.
Services for John H. “Johnny” Jeffries of Eatonton, formerly of McRae were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24 in the McRae Church of Christ with interment in the Telfair Memorial Gardens.
The Minister James Shear and the Minister Keith Brooks officiated.
Jeffries, 69, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004. He was the son of the late John Harris Jeffries Sr. and Mae Williams Jeffries and was married to Mercedes Mullis Jefferies. He was preceded in death by a son and a sister.
A native of Telfair County, he was the former owner and operator of Western Auto and was employed with Volunteer Macon, was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Milledgeville Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughters, Donna Harvill of Alamo and Rhonda Lowery of Eastman; brothers, Robert Jeffries of LaGrange, James Jeffries of Macon and Gene Jeffries of Columbia, S.C.; sister, Beth Elton of Macon; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Patsy House, Rt. 1 Box 273B, McRae 31055 or to the Milledgeville Church of Christ, 122 Hwy. 49, Milledgeville 31061.
Vaughn Funeral Home of McRae was in charge of arrangements.

Louise J. McCranie
Services for Louise J. McCranie of Rhine were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20 at Rhine Baptist Church with interment in Vilula Cemetery.
The Rev. Royce Vaughn and Reggie Sheffield officiated.
McCranie, 72, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004. She was the daughter of the late Frank Johnson and Emma Crenshaw Johnson and was the widow of Oscar Boyle McCranie.
She was a native of Wilcox County and had lived in Dodge County for the past 50 years. She was a member of Rhine Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Luwanda Gildersleeve of Macon; sons, Theron McCranie of Chauncey and Tony McCranie of Eastman; sister, Fostelle Gregory of Pitts; brother, Leslie Johnson Sr. of New London, Conn.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home of Eastman was in charge of arrangements.

Jesse B. McDuffie Jr.
Services for Jesse B. McDuffie Jr. of McRae were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23 in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with interment in McDuffie Cemetery.
Dr. William Connell and the Rev. Steven Frazier officiated.
McDuffie, 75, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004. He was the son of the late Jesse B. McDuffie Sr. and Florine Ray McDuffie and was married to Betty McRae.
A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, he was a retired accountant with Monsanto Chemical and was a member of the McRae First Baptist Church where he also served as deacon. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and had served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his son, Don McDuffie of McRae; daughter, Sherry McDuffie of Athens; and one granddaughter,

Willene Cook McDuffie
Services for Willene Cook McDuffie of Rhine were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25 at Rhine Baptist Church with interment in Bay Springs Cemetery.
The Rev. Kim Conley and the Rev. Chuck Taylor officiated.
McDuffie, 74, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004. She was the daughter of the late Grady Cook and Pauline Rogers Cook.
A native of Dodge County, she was a homemaker and attended Rhine Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen Harvey of Dublin, Elaine Register and Roselyn Mobley, both of Fitzgerald; sons, Ronnie McDuffie and Welborn McDuffie, both of Abbeville and William McDuffie of Rochelle; brothers, Harvey Cook of Rhine and Roger Cook of Milan; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to Rhine Baptist Church.
Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home of Eastman was in charge of arrangements.

Joseph D. “Paul” Nunnold
Services for Joseph D. “Paul” Nunnold were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25 in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with interment in the Telfair Memorial Gardens.
Bobby Ryals, the Rev. W.R. Connell and the Rev. Arville Herst officiated.
Nunnold, 74, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004. He was the son of the late John B. and Alice Metcalf Nunnold and was married to Yvonne Strom Steverson Nunnold of Helena.
He was a native of Bristow, Okla. and had resided in Telfair County for the past 27 years. He was employed for several years with Tracker Escort in Thompson, was a member of the McRae Church of God and was a retired U.S. Army veteran.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his stepson, Stanley Steverson of McRae; stepdaughters, Brenda Stewart of Macon and Teresa Heath of Helena; brothers, Johnny Nunnold of Turlock, Calif. and Jerry Nunnold of Long Beach, Calif.; sister, Susie Hagopian of Ingram, Texas; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Vaughn Funeral Home of McRae was in charge of arrangements.

Eddie Roy Outlaw
Graveside services for Eddie Roy Outlaw of McRae were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23 in the Oakgrove Cemetery.
The Rev. Jim Dominey officiated.
Outlaw, 77, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004. He was the son of the late J.C. Outlaw Sr. and Minnie Peterson Outlaw and was the widower of Faye Harbin Outlaw of McRae.
He was a native of Kingsland, a member of McRae United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was retired from FRP for several years. He was a member of the VFW, National Foxhunter’s Association, member of Georgia’s State Foxhunter’s Association where he also was a past director, a Hall of Fame member of the South Georgia Foxhunter’s Association. He was a co-owner and manager of Beaches Memorial Gardens of Jacksonville, Fla.
Survivors include his sons, Jimmy Outlaw of McRae and Pierce Outlaw of Longwood, Fla.; brother James Cannie Outlaw Jr. of Kingsland; sister, Mallye Taylor of Brunswick; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Children and Youth Ministries, McRae United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 8, McRae 31055.
Vaughn Funeral Home of McRae was in charge of arrangements.

William P. Parker
Graveside services for William P. Parker of Gray were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27 in Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Gray.
The Rev. Robert Mullis Jr. officiated.
Parker, 76, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004. He was the son of the late John Willie Parker and Viola Parker Brown and was married to Dorothy Harn Parker of Gray.
He was a native of Telfair County and had lived in Jones County for the past 42 years. He was educated in Telfair County Schools and was the retired owner of Parker Welding Company. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a Methodist.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughter, Linda Clampitt of Gray; son, Cecil Parker of Gray; sister, Pearl Sharpe of Hazlehurst; two half brothers; five half sisters and five grandchildren.
The family request that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the donor’s favorite charity. Bridges Funeral Home of Gray was in charge of arrangements.

Ealon Yawn
Services for Ealon Yawn of Americus, formerly of Zebulon were held at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23 in the chapel of Moody Funeral Home with interment in Moody Memorial Gardens.
The Rev. Charles Bennett officiated.
Yawn, 82, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004. He was married to Estelle Yawn and was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
He was a native of Telfair County and was a devoted family man and a long time member of Meansville Baptist Church. He worked for Martha Mills in Thomaston for over 31 years. He was also a slingshot master and expert gardener.
Memorial contributions may be made to the League of the Good Samaritan, c/o Magnolia Manor Nursing Center, 2001 South Lee St, Americus, 31709 in memory of Mr. Yawn.
Moody Funeral Home of Zebulon was in charge of arrangements.
