Eddie L. Dumas
Ms. Eddie L. Dumas passed away Monday, January, 26, 2004, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas.
She was born July 27, 1936, to the late Dianna Boyd West and the late Edd West. She worked at Dade County School board in Miami, Fla. for 11 eleven years. She lived in Miami for prior to moving back to Douglas, Georgia in 1991. She joined Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church. She moved her membership to New Hope Baptist Church of West Green, Ga. to be closer to home. She was preceded in death by one brother, George Boyd and one sister, Bobbie J. West.
Survivors include her husband, James L. Dumas; two daughters, Mae (Arnaz) Culberson of Brooklyn, N. Y. and Margie Hood (James Russell) of Miami; four sisters, Ida Mae Tiller and Carrie (Willie) Hardee all of Homerville, Della (Namon) Williams of West Green, Francina Alexander (Samuel Patterson) of Waycross; one brother, Joe L. (Bertha) West of Homerville; extended family, Ms. Daisy C. Favors of Pearson, Ms. Beatrice Surnency of Savannah, Mr. Joe (Mary) Cooper of Miami; in-laws, Min. Deloris (Rayford) McRae, Clinton L. Dumas, Jr., Helen (Roy) Garner, Daniel (Morsetta) Dumas, Jessie Dumas, Eddie Dumas, Lonnie (Debra) Dumas and Morshun Cooper of Brooklyn; five grandchildren, Angelic Haywood, Tranavia Dowell, Lakeisha Haywood, Sandra Hood and James (Sporty) Hood III all of Miami; seven great-grandchildren; Angela Adams, Angelo Adams, Jameshia Hood, Rameshia Hood, Shawn Beneby, Jr., Imani Cooper, Jahni Cooper and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 31, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Allen Chapel A.M.E. in Sandy Bottom, Ga.
Officiating was Rev. Glenda M. Newton, Elder J. B. Robinson was presiding elder and Rev. Evens Williams was pastor.
Active pallbearers were sons-in-law, nephews, and friends.
Honorary pallbearers were friends.

Nicholas E. Fluker, Sr.
Nicholas “Nick” Edward Fluker Sr., 90, founder of Fluker Funeral Home Inc. died Thursday morning, January 29, 2004, in Satilla Regional Medical Center after an illness.
He was a native of Argyle, but lived in Waycross most of his life. He was second of three sons born to the late Ananias and Sarah Jewel Fluker. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Lee France Fluker, Sr. and Taylor Fluker. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and a veteran of the U. S. Army.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Johnnie M. Fluker; one daughter, Cynthia S. Fluker; four sons, Nicholas E. Fluker, Jr. (Helen), Carlton T. Fluker (Carolyn), Andrew D. Fluker (Sharon), and Audwin N. Fluker (Joone) all of Waycross; 18 grandchildren 18 great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Fluker Funeral Home of Waycross.

Leo Lofton
Mr. Leo Lofton, 75, passed away Thursday morning, January 29, 2004, in the South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, following a short illness.
A native and lifelong resident of Clinch County, he was retired from Champion International with 36 years of service. Mr. Lofton attended the Fargo Church of God and was the son of the late John and Modina Swearingen Lofton. His brother James Bennie Thompson preceded him in death.
Survivors are his wife, Louise Padgett Lofton, Fargo; two daughters and sons-in-law; Patricia and Tye Thomas of Homerville and Sylvia and Davy Stabler of Statenville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Troy and Ann Lofton, John and Megan Lofton and Russell and Debbie Lofton all of Fargo; twenty grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several other relatives.
Services were held Sunday, February 1, 2003, at three o’clock in the afternoon from the Fargo Church of God.
iIntermentwas in Boney Bluff Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were John Griffis, Jr., Lucious Corbitt, Buddy James, Ernest Nelson, Buck Hughes and Sammy Parr.
Honorary pallbearers were Nathan Rewis, Jerry Altman, Johnny Griffis, Preston Thomas and Lawton Flanders, Jr.
w. H. Warren, Tillman Willis, Frances Bradley, Marie Parr and Misty Griffis sand “He’ll Hold My Hand” and “Hallelujah”, Marie Parr and Tillman Willis sand “Go Rest High On That Mountain” and W. G. Smith sang “another Solders Coming Home.”
Roundtree Funeral Home served the Lofton family.

Gwendolyn B. Spikes
Gwendolyn B. Spikes, 61, of Homerville, died Sunday, January 25, 2004, in Clinch Memorial Hospital after an illness.
She was a native of Jeff Davis County, but she grew up in Homerville where she attended public schools. Her father was the late Ralph Bennett. She was also preceded in death by a son, Napoleon Spikes, Jr. She was a member of Morningstar Baptist Church where she served as a youth matron for many years and as a member of the original adult choir.
Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth Hunter (Edward), Doris McNair and Jacquelyn Cooper, all of Homerville; two sons, Bryce McNair of Leemore, Calif., Jonathan Cooper (Sarah) of Homerville; mother, Doris Gamble of Homerville; six brothers, Willie Gamble (Cyd), Alfred Gamble, and George Gamble all of Atlanta, Eugene Gamble (Diane) of Valdosta, Llewellyn Gamble and George Gamble, both of Homerville; four sisters, Grace Burton (Leroy), Sharon Small, both of Homerville, Kathy Franklin of Columbus and Peggy Amuker (James); eight grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a special uncle, Samuel James of Homerville; and a host of other relatives, church family and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 31, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church in Homerville.
Officiating was Rev. Timothy E. Riser.
Burial was in Pine Forest Cemetery.
Fluker Funeral Home of Homerville served the Spikes family.

Hazel Mixon Thomas
Hazel Mixon Thomas, 71, died early Thursday morning, January 29, 2004, at Satilla Regional Medical Center following a long illness.
She was born in Appling County but had resided most of her life in Waycross. She was the daughter of the late Rev. James Wilson Mixon and Pearl Williams Mixon. She was a member of Crossview Church of God of Prophecy.
Survivors include her husband, of 52 years, Orvie Carroll Thomas; two sons, Jimmy Darrel Thomas of Waycross and Donald Estus Thomas of Homerville; a daughter, Debra Joann Bechiom of Dallas, Ga; a sister, Wilma Mixon Ammons (husband Junior) of Baxley; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2004, in Crossview Church of God of Prophecy.
Burial was in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
Music Funeral Home of Waycross served the Thomas family.

James Bennie Thompson
Mr. James Bennie Thompson, 83, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2004, at his residence following an extended illness.
A native and life long resident of Clinch County, he retired from Liddy Machine Shop and was a member of the Fargo Church of God. He was the son of the late Jim and Modina Swearingen Thompson.
Survivors are his wife, Wynell Henderson Thompson of Fargo, Ga.; one daughter, Debbie Lofton of Fargo; one step-daughter, Lisa Hall of St. George, Ga.; one son, James Bruce Thompson of Orange Park, Fla.; one step-son, Lawton Flanders, Jr. of Lake Park, Ga.; one brother, Leo Lofton of Fargo, Ga.; 10 grandchildren and several other relatives.
Services were held Friday, January 30, 2004, at two o’clock in the afternoon from the Fargo Church of God.
Officiating was Rev. Ricky McLaughlin, Rev. Carolyn Warren and Chaplin Skip VanNus.

Active pallbearers were Mike Elliot, Patrick Fox, Earl Lofton, Troy Lofton, Rusty Shaw, Troy Lofton, Jr. and Matt Henderson.

Willie Fred Blackmon
Mr. Willie Fred Blackmon, 69, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2004, in the Veterans Administrative Medical Center, Lake City, Fla., following an extended illness.
A native of Lowndes County, he had lived in Clinch County the last 20 years and was a retired truck driver. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and was the son of the late Luke Blackmon and Leaon Colley Blackmon Guy.
Survivors are two daughters, Dana Bovee of Eagle, Mich., and Lynn Blackmon of Lansing Mich.; two sons, Terry Blackmon and Timmy Blackmon of Colorado; one sister, Wanda Gail Hall of Tifton; four brothers, Emmett F. Blackmon of Yulee, Florida, R. L. Guy of Homerville, Dorman Guy of Valdosta and Donzell Guy of Waycross, several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Services for Mr. Blackmon were held Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at 2 p.m. from the Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church near Stockton.

William Lawson Bradford, Sr.

Mr. William Lawson Bradford, Sr., 60, passed away Friday, April 2, 2004, in the South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, following a short illness.
A native of Clinch County, he spent his early years in Lanier County before moving back to Clinch County. He had lived in Lowndes County for the last 10 years. He was a retired yard foreman for Norfolk-Southern Railroad and a member of Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church. One brother, Larry Bradford and his first wife, Lalone Studebaker Bradford, precede him in death.
Survivors are his wife, Shirley Rewis Bradford of Valdosta; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Stacy Griffin of Blackshear, and Sarah and Kevin Register of Hawkinsville; one son and daughter-in-law, William Lawson and Angie Bradford, Jr. of Homerville; his father and mother, Wallace and Odessa Pierce Bradford of Lakeland; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Don Tomlinson of Quincy, Fla. and Sherry and Luther Ricketson of Alma; two brothers and sisters-in law, Lonnie and Rosalyn Bradford of Hahira, and Jim “Dicky” and Joy Bradford of Lake Park; five grandchildren, Elizabeth and Austin Bradford, Alyssa Griffin, Mindy Carol and Lillie Grace Register and several other relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Bradford were held Sunday, April 4, 2004, at 3 p.m., from Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church.
Oficiating was Rev. Keith Chauncey and Rev. Chris McCain.
iIntermentwas in Shiloh Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Mark Bradford, Zachary Bemnington, Kevin Chapman, Church Pearson, Brad Cosby, Hugh Tomlinson and Steve Bradford.
Evelyn Wilson played the piano for both Jerri Lynn Spivey as she sand “Son, Go Bring My Children Home” and as W. G. Smith led the congregation in “Amazing Grace”.

Ermolene Lucille Davis
Mrs. Ermolene Lucille Davis, 79, died Saturday morning, April 3, 2004, at her residence in Camden County after a long illness.
She is a native of Berrien County, but she has liven in Camden County for 29 years. She was a homemaker and member of Camp Pinckney Baptist Church.
She is the daughter of the late Israel McMillan and Litula Mock McMillian. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Sue Davis; nine brothers, Malcolm, Lonnie, Herman, Curtise, Burtise, Barnes, Arthur, Jessie, and Wesley McMillian; and a sister, Ottie McMillan.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gehu J. Davis of Waynesville; three daughters, Myra Thrift and husband Jimmy of Millwood, Nancy Moody of Homerville, Deanna Cox and husband Calvin, Sr. of Woodbine; 13 grandchildren, Debra Golden, Jimmy Thrift, Alvin Thrift, Mindy Smith, John Eaton, Brain Eaton, Eric Eaton, Danielle Moody, Calvin Cox, Jr., Gehu Cox, Ermolene Cox, Michael Cox and Stacy Cox; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at 1 p.m., Monday, April 5, 2004, at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial followed in Friendship Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Camp Pinckney Senior Sunday School Class served as honorary pallbearers.
Music Funeral Home of Waycross served the Davis family.

Louise Turner Davis
Mrs. Louise Turner Davis, 80, of Bascom, Florida, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2004, at her residence.
Mrs. Davis was born in Clinch County on July 2, 1923, to the late Nicholas Jasper and Parilee Burke Booth. She worked as a nurse for years and also worked at the paper mill in Cedar Springs, Ga. for several years. She was a longtime member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Bascom. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Truman F. Turner and her second husband, Edison Davis.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Truman Turner of Blakely, Ga. and Jerry Turner of Bascom; three daughters, Judy Carol T. Taylor and her husband Fulton George, Sr. of Richmond, Va., Sue T. Williams of Vidalia, Ga., Rhonda Louise T. Gosch and her husband Guenther of Naples, Fla.; a brother, Leonard Merrill Booth of Brooker, Fla.; a sister Lillian B. Smith of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Andrew James Taylor, Fulton George Taylor, Jr., Amy Williams Powell, Matthew Roland Williams, Jennifer McSwain Hallam, John Lyles, James Louise Lyles, Yuel Travis Turner, Georgia Lorraine T. Watkins, Douglas Robert Turner, Clayton Turner, Mason Turner, Jeffery Scott Turner and Allison Elizabeth Madison Turner; great-grandchildren, Todd Hallam, Ashley Hallam, Samantha Turner, Andrew Turner, Shelby Grace Turner, Elizabeth Nowling, J. Laine Watkins and Skyla Autum Turner.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Bascom.
Officiating was Rev. Andy Glover.
Pallbearers were Andrew James Taylor, Fulton George Taylor, Jr., Matthew Roland Williams, Jeffery Scott Turner, Travis Turner and Doug Turner.
A visitation was held at United Methodist Church in Homerville at 3:30 p.m. for friends and family.
iIntermentfollowed at Shiloh cemetery in Clinch County.
Memorial contributions may be made to Building Fund, (Fellowship Hall) Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Hwy 2, Bascom, Fla. 32423.
