Obituary: Mrs. Amy Ruth Herrin Fuller, 90, of Powder Springs formerly of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at Portsbridge Hospice in Austell. She was born October 17, 1915 in Carroll County, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Samuel Moses Herrin and the late Mrs. Emma Lee Hackney Herrin. She married John Thomas “J.T.” Fuller on October 17, 1931 in New Georgia. She was a member of White Oak Springs Baptist Church. She was a seamstress for Camp Cap Company. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James “J.T.” Thomas Fuller; son, Samuel Thomas Fuller; sisters, Euretha Fuller, Zema Howard, Grace Herrin, Zelma Herrin; brothers, Paul Herrin, Willie Grissom Herrin, Bernard Herrin, and Carl Herrin. She is survived by three grandchildren, Patricia and Joel Fortenberry of Powder Springs, Joni Petty of Lithia Springs, Kenneth and Twana Worthan; 7 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, February 2, 2006 at 2:00 PM from the Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel with Brother Joel Fortenberry officiating. Musical selections will be rendered by Bryan Lawrence and Ken Duncan. iIntermentwill follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica with Brother Casey Fortenberry officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel is serving the Fuller Family.

Frank Foster Sims

Date: April 4th, 1926 - January 30th, 2006

Obituary: Mr. Frank Foster Sims, 79, of River Bend Court, Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Monday, January 30, 2006 at his residence. He was born April 4, 1926, in Birmingham, Alabama. He was the son of the late John Lewis Sims, II and the late Cora Applegate Foster Sims. Mr. Sims was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II. He was a member of the Temple United Methodist Church in Temple, Georgia. Mr. Sims was a member of the Lions Club in Hiawassee, Georgia having served as President. He was also a member of the Temple Masonic Lodge #322 F&AM and a Shriner. Mr. Sims was retired from Goodyear Tire Company as an inventory manager. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. June Crenshaw Sims of Villa Rica; his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Sims McIntosh and Richard J. McIntosh of Temple; brother and sister-in-law, John Lewis Sims, III and Annie Laura Sims of Birmingham, Alabama; 2 grandchildren, Jennifer and Jammey Townsend and Matthew McIntosh; 3 great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Foster McIntosh, Joslyn Lenora Townsend and Joshua Foster Townsend; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 10:00 AM from the Temple United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Williams officiating. Graveside services with military honors will be conducted on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 3:00 PM EST at Elmwood cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama. iIntermentwill follow in Elmwood cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama. The family will be receiving friends at the Temple United Methodist Church in Temple, Georgia, Saturday, February 4, 2006 from 9:00AM until 10:00AM. Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary: Mrs. Thelma Watson Swanson, 86, of Highway 78W, Temple, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at her residence. She was born December 3, 1919, in Douglas County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late William Thomas Smallwood and the late Ludelia Hembree Smallwood. Mrs. Swanston was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Temple, Georgia. She enjoyed gardening and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Swanson was preceded in death by her husband, William Reese Swanson; her daughter, Gloria Jean Swanson; her sons, Thomas Watson Swanson and Gary DeWayne Swanson; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Lanham of Temple; her son and daughter-in-law, Elwyn and Helen Swanson of Carrollton; sister, Opal Price of Senoia; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 3, 2006 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Dr. Corky Addison officiating. Obituary: Mr. Velmon E. Ward, 72, of North Hilton Road, Winston, Georgia passed away Thursday, February 2, 2006 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica, Georgia. He was born August 25, 1933 in Douglas County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Thomas Ward and the late Irene Fields Ward. Mr. Ward worked as a timber dealer in the forestry industry. He enjoyed restoring 1936 Chevy cars. He served in the National Guard. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Phyllis Allen Ward of Winston; his daughters and son-in-law, Lynda Camp of Panama City Beach, Florida, Kim Rushing of Decatur and Brandie and Chris Huddleston of Carrollton; step-daughter and her husband, Alison and Michael Turner of Canton; sons and daughter-in-law, Randy and Marian Ward of Temple and Rodney Ward of Temple; step-son and his wife, Darrell and Olga Kreis of Villa Rica; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat and Johnny Echols of Winston and Carolyn and Robert Cheek of Winston; brothers and sister-in-law, Bernon “Pete” and Brenda Ward of Winston and John and Sue Ward of Temple; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial services will be conducted on Monday, February 6, 2006 at 6:30 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Rev. Johnny White officiating. Mr. William Monroe Martin

Obituary: Mr. William Monroe Martin, 82, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Saturday, June 10, 2006 at Pine Knoll Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Carrollton, Georgia. He was born September 20, 1923 in Carroll County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Mr. Samuel Benjamin Martin and the late Mrs. Martha Ann Boyd Martin. Mr. Martin served in the United States Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict for twelve years having achieved the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Martin was an active member of Flat Rock Baptist Church having served as a Deacon, choir member, Training Union teacher and Sunday School teacher for many years. He worked in Vacation Bible School every year. He was a paper handler for Data Graphics. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Cheely Martin; sisters, Mandy Ovie Perren, Annie Lula Martin, and Esther Ethel Martin. He is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Mrs. Lou Ellen Fendley and Bobby Fendley of Villa Rica, one brother and sister-in-law Robert and Louise Martin of Villa Rica; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at 11:00 AM from Flat Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Puckett and Rev. Bob Gardner officiating. iIntermentwill follow at Glenn Memorial Park in Villa Rica. Pallbearers will be the deacons of Flat Rock Baptist Church.. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Martin’s Sunday School class from Flat Rock Baptist Church. The family will be receiving friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Monday, June 12, 2006 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Eli Joseph Reyes

Obituary: Mr. Eli Joseph Reyes, 23, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Monday, April 10, 2006 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital in Douglasville, Georgia. He was born March 18, 1983, in San Diego, California. He was the son of Manny A. Reyes and Pauline Q. King. Mr. Reyes carried a great big smile and love with him that was so beautiful and contagious. He touched the lives of his family and friends in a very charismatic way. Mr. Reyes worked in the retail industry for Cosco. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Rosario M. Reyes. Survivors include his mother and step-father, Pauline Q. and Roger W. King of Lilburn; his father and step-mother, Manny A. and Annie D. Reyes of San Diego, California; his maternal grandmother, Remedios F. Quinene; his paternal grandfather, Manuel C. Reyes; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, step-brothers and step-sisters also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 1:00 PM from St. Stephens the Martyr Catholic Church in Lilburn, Georgia with Father Patrick Donaghey officiating. Pallbearers will be Raymond Quinene, Tony Quinene, Fred Cruz, Thomas S., Nick Cruz and Kenny Reyes. Obituary: Mrs. Mary Jo Ethel Yearty Garner, 77, of Tumlin Lake Road, Temple, Georgia entered into rest after an extended illness on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at her residence. She was born February 4, 1929, in Carroll County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Aaron Lumpkin Yearty and the late Mattie Ethel Brooks Yearty. Mrs. Garner was a member of Utopia Baptist Church in Villa Rica, Georgia. She had retired after over 30 years of service as a seamstress for Sewell Manufacturing. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Garner was preceded in by her son, Randall Wayne Garner; her brother, Marion Yearty; sisters, Phoeby E. Waddell, Frances Bishop and four infant sisters; son-in-law, Don Coleman; and brothers-in-law, Garvin Gentry and Mack Bishop. Survivors include her husband, Jerrill E. Garner of Temple; her daughters and son-in-law, Sherrie and Howard Glidewell of Villa Rica and Sue Coleman of Carrollton; daughter-in-law, Treva Garner of Winston; sisters and brother-in-law, Clara Nell Gentry of Temple and Peggy and Chet Pointer of Florida; sister-in-law, Mary Yearty of Temple; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Mozelle Yearty of Temple; brother-in-law, Jerry Waddell of Temple; five grandchildren, Kristina Leigh Garner of Winston, Michael “Woody” and Julie Coleman of Carrollton, Gina Jo and Jim Holcombe of Temple, Amanda Kay LeQuire of Villa Rica and Jacob Bruce Coleman of Carrollton; great-granddaughter, Violet Elisabeth Nash of Winston; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, March 5, 2006 at 2:00 PM from Utopia Baptist Church in Villa Rica with Rev. Chad Long, Rev. Russell Calhoun and Rev. Wendell Rush officiating. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Jackie and Florene Cook of Carrollton, Charles Mathew McCoy of Costa Mesa, CA, Aubrey James and Barbara McCoy of Biloxi, MS, and Buford Earl and Dot McCoy of Beulah, AL; one sister, Catherine Bates of Michigan; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was born June 16, 1949 in Douglas County, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Kermit Elisha Weathington and the late Mrs. Claudia Ruth Prickett Weathington. He was a graduate of Douglas County High School and Southern Polytechnic Institute in Marietta. He was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church and the Harvesters Sunday School Class. He worked as a Telecommunications Engineer for Engineer Associates. In addition to his parents he was prececeded in death by his sister, Barbara Williams. He is survived by one sister, Judy Deal of Douglasville; nephews Allen Kirk, and Casey Williams, nieces and their spouses, Dena and Patrick Kirk, Julie and Brian San Filippo, Reagan Kirk, uncle and his spouse Blaine and Dot Prickett of Douglasville. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at 2:00 PM from the Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel with Rev.
