Ralph McCollum Johnson
Ralph McCollum Johnson, 87, of Arabi died at Crisp Regional Hospital Friday, October 8, 2004. He was born Saturday, February 3, 1917 in Crisp County and was the son of the late James Reuben Johnson and Susie Matilda Pate Johnson. He was an auto mechanic (Ret) and a member of Northern Heights Baptist Church in West Palm Beach, Fla. Funeral services will be held at Rainey Family Funeral Services Sunday, October 10, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. with interment following at Zion Hope cemetery in Crisp County. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Frances Bailey Johnson of Arabi; a daughter, Bobbie Nell Wade of Arabi; step-sons, Phil Sheffield of Port Saint Lucie, Fla., Robert Weeks of Buford, Jimmy Weeks and Lynn Weeks, both of Lawrenceville, and Charles Weeks of Arabi; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. The family received friends at Rainey Family Funeral Services Saturday, October 9, 2004 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Arrangements by Rainey Family Funeral Services, Inc.

IMOGENE "JEAN" MOORE
Imogene "Jean" Moore, 65 of Cordele died at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany Wednesday, October 22, 2003. She was born on Monday, July 11, 1938 in Cordele and was the daughter of the late Talmadge Leon Durham and Edith Leona Williams Durham. Mrs. Moore was a Rural Mail Carrier (Ret.) for the United States Postal Service and was a member of Wenona Baptist Church where she taught the Adult V Sunday School Class. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel Of Rainey Family Funeral Services on Saturday, October 25, 2003 at 4:00 PM. Burial will be at Arabi cemetery in Arabi. Survivors include her husband, Toby Moore of Cordele; two sons, Toby W. Moore, Jr. of Pinehurst and Keith Moore of Cordele; one daughter, Sherry Moore Reid of Rochelle; a sister, Jo Powell of Fort Myers, Fl.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Visitation will be at Rainey Family Funeral Services, Inc. on Friday, October 24, 2003 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Weyman Tison
Weyman Tison of Macon passed away October 9, 2004 after a bout with cancer. Born in Jacksonville, Fla., he was the son of the late Weyman Bridges Tison, Sr. and Mable Imogene Tison. He was raised in Cordele and returned to Macon in 1980. He was a graduate of North Georgia College in 1961, served almost nine years in the Army, including two years in Vietnam where he received the Bronze Star with Cluster, the Army Commendation Medal with Cluster and Air Medal. Weyman was a licensed Auctioneer, Real Estate Broker, and Certified General Appraiser. He was a director of the Middle Georgia Board of Realtors, Past President of the Brunswick-Glynn County Board of Realtors, the Brunswick Exchange Club and the Macon Tennis Association. He was also a Regional Vice President for the Georgia Association of Realtors. He was a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church. Weyman is survived by son, Brig Tison and wife Kathy and children Brig Jr., Sloan and Sidney of Vienna, Va., son, Andy Tison and wife Jina and sons Kole and Carver of Hamilton, Mt., son, Ben Tison and wife Lauren and sons Knox and Boone of Powder Springs. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2004 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Service in Cordele. iIntermentwill follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Cordele. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until time for the service. In lieu of flowers Weyman requests that you donate to your favorite charity. He also requests that if you smoke - stop! And that you have regular medical checkups - two things that he was too stupid to do. Rainey Family Funeral Services is in charge of the arrangements.

Mary Ruth Moreland
Mary Ruth Moreland, 82, of Cordele died at her residence Saturday, May 15, 2004. She was born Friday, November 11, 1921 in Cordele and was the daughter of the late Hunter Mae Smith. Graveside services will be held at Cedar Creek cemetery Monday, May 17, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. She is survived by her friend and companion, Sammy Floyd Clements of Cordele. Grace Franks
Grace Franks, 72, of Cordele died at her residence Monday, September 13, 2004. Born Thursday, April 21, 1932 in Ashburn, she was the daughter of the late Howard McDaniel and Laura Griffin McDaniel and the widow of E.J. Franks. Mrs. Franks was a Hostess (RET) at the Ramada Inn. Funeral services will be held at Rainey Family Funeral Services, Inc. on Thursday, September 16, 2004 at 2:00 PM. iIntermentwill follow at Sunnyside cemetery in Cordele. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Merritt of Cordele; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Debbie Franks of Cordele, Ronald and Sherry Franks of Pinson, Ala. and Robin and Tammy Franks of Fort Stewart; a brother, David McDaniel of Leesburg; a sister, Jeannette Mixon of Dahlonega; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. David Grant Wilkinson
David Grant Wilkinson, 21, of Cordele died in Albany Saturday, October 9, 2004. Born October 31, 1982 in Dearborn, Mich., he was the son of William Baker Wilkinson, III and DeAnna Lynn Ramsey-Klovski. Mr. Wilkinson was a member of Wyandotte Christian Church in Wyandotte, Mich. and a construction worker. Graveside services will be held at Cedar Creek cemetery Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. He is survived by his father, William Baker Wilkinson, III of Cordele, his mother, DeAnna Lynn Ramsey-Klovski of Dearborn Heights, Mich., a sister, Dawn Keen of Cordele; three brothers, William Wilkinson of Canton, Mich., Jeffrey Wilkinson and Corbin Wilkinson, both of Dearborn Heights, Mich.; two half-brothers, Nicholas Wilkinson and Zachery Wilkinson, both of Cordele; his paternal grandmother, Joan Wilkinson of Bartow, Fla.; his maternal grandfather, Carl Stewart of Cookeville, Tenn. and his maternal great-grandmother, Lenore Elliott of Cookeville, Tenn. William Henry Greene
William Henry Greene, 95, of Cordele died at his residence Tuesday, May 18, 2004. He was born Monday, May 25, 1908 in Bibb County and was the son of the late William Henry Greene and Alice Pearl Greene and the widower of Murriel S. Greene. He was retired from the Maintenance Department of the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist faith. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at Cedar Creek cemetery in Cordele. He is survived by four sons and their wives, Wayne Greene and William (Billy) and Frances Greene, all of Cordele, Floyd and Betty Greene of Cobb, and Toney and Ann Greene of Forrest Park; a daughter, Alice Wynelle Turner of Waycross; two sisters, Edna G. Adkins of Cordele and Mildred Harvey of Augusta; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jean Greene, a son, Thomas H. Greene and sisters, Hazel Bentley and Nora Lovelace. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at the funeral home. Nancy Faye Miller
Nancy Faye Miller, 52, of Byromville died at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany Saturday, September 18, 2004. She was born Friday, April 4, 1952 in Atlanta and was the daughter of Anna Mitchell of Cordele and the late Thomas Walter Mitchell. Mrs. Miller was a sales person. Funeral services will be held at Rainey Family Funeral Services, Inc. Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. iIntermentwill follow at Zion Hope cemetery in Crisp County. VERA CRUMBLEY McKINNEY
Vera C. McKinney, 75, of Cordele died at her residence Friday, November 5, 2004. She was born Tuesday, January 8, 1929, in Seville and was the daughter of the late Miles McCoy Crumbley and Mattie Mae Dowdy Crumbley. Funeral services will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Church Sunday, November 7, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. iIntermentwill follow at Ebenezer Cemetery. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Susan McKinney and Lonnie and Sandra McKinney, all of Cordele; a brother, Bennett Crumbley of Seville; and two sisters Jean C. Oglesby and Opal C. Warren both of Cordele. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles (Bo) Thomas McKinney, a granddaughter, Amanda McKinney, brothers, Robert Lee Crumbley and Joe Crumbley and sisters, Adelle Dupree, Lucille Brewer and Bertha Dalrymple. George Eure
George Eure, 61, of Cordele died at his residence Saturday, September 18, 2004. Born Sunday, May 23, 1943 in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Jacob Barnhill Eure amd Lucille Miller Eure Richter. Mr. Eure was a retired installer of heavy duty scales and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and had served in the Vietnam War. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at Andersonville National cemetery in Andersonville. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James Christopher and Linda Eure of Auburn; a daughter, Diana Leontine Toms of Auburn; a brother and his wife, James and Elaine Eure of Albany; and a sister, Joanna Brown of Cordele; four grandchildren; his children's mother, Rebecca Branson of Dacula; and a special friend, Shirley Watson of Albany. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Eure. The family may be contacted at the home of Jeff and Sherril Masters at 303 Cedar Lake Circle in Cordele. Benjamin F. Harden
Benjamin F. Harden, 91, of Cordele died at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele Wednesday, October 13, 2004. He was born Monday, November 18, 1912 in Blountstown, Fla. and was the son of Thomas Harden and Rena Dowdy Harden and the widower of Mattie Lucille Mixon Harden. Mr. Harden was a retired farmer and a member the Cordele Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Graveside services will be held at Sunnyside cemetery Friday, October 15, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. He is survived by a son and his wife, Robert and Maggie Harden of Cordele: two daughters, Louise Kelley of Fresno, Calif. and June and Joe Bryant of Blairsville; a sister, Effie Lang of Cordele, six grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. JAMES TROY PITTS
James Troy Pitts, 90 of Pitts died at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany Thursday, November 27, 2003. Born September 29, 1913 in Telfair County, he was the son of the late Styles Victor Pitts and May Wilson Pitts and the widower of Loaine Gordon Pitts. He was a 1936 graduate of Pitts High School and attended Middle Georgia College. Mr. Pitts entered the United States Navy in 1937 and served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor stationed aboard the USS Honolulu. He retired as a Master Sargent in the US Air Force in 1958. Mr. Pitts was a farmer (Ret) and bus driver (Ret) for the Crisp County School System. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel Of Rainey Family Funeral Services Sunday, November 30 at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at Seville Cemetery. He is survived by a daughter, Lynn Pitts of Cordele and a son, Tom Pitts of Oakfield. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Jack Pitts and Glen Pitts and a sister, Edna Pitts Mason. MAMIE STEPHENS HOLLOWAY
Mamie Stephens Holloway, 89, of Cordele died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Cordele Health & Rehab. Born September 25, 1914 in Crisp County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Thomas Stephens and Isabelle Abigail Lewis Stephens and the widow of James Harry Holloway, Sr. She was a member of the Cordele First Baptist Church for many years. She is survived by two daughters, Harriet H. Taylor of Unadilla and Beverly H. Harris of Vienna; two sons, James H. Holloway, Jr. of Cordele and Morris G. Holloway of Pitts; one brother, Eugene Stephens of Cordele; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery. Genevieve Virginia "Ginger" Martin
Genevieve Virginia "Ginger" Martin 35, of Cordele passed away at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany Friday, April 30, 2004. Born on Monday, July 8, 1968, in Montezuma, she was the daughter of Charles Hoyt Lucas and Geneva Kimsey Clements. Mrs. Martin was a secretary and a member of Hatley Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at Rainey Family Funeral Services Sunday, May 2, 2004 at 2:00 PM. iIntermentwill follow at Sunnyside Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, James Edward Martin of Cordele; two sons, David Clark and Eric Clark, both of Cordele; her father and step-mother, Charles and Sandra Lucas of Sylvester; her mother, Geneva Clements of Cordele; a brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Wanda Lucas of Cordele; a sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Lee Byrd of Albany; two half brothers, Eddie York of Cordele and Jason Lucas of Cuthbert; two step brothers, Jimmy Clements of Cordele and Jeffery Whitley of Milledgeville; a step sister, Teresa Malet of Cordele; her father-in-law, Bobby Martin and mother-in-law, Linda Martin, both of Cordele; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dwain Martin and Moochie Martin, both of Cordele; her god-daughter, Laquinitha Tytianna "Ty" Williams; a special friend, Sandy Watson; 11 nephews; five nieces and numerous other family members and friends. Mary Grace Johnson
Mary Grace Johnson, 73, of Vienna died at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon Thursday, July 22, 2004. Born Saturday, December 6, 1930 in Tift County, she was the daughter of the late Sidney Walker and Myrtle Selph Walker and the widow of Hershal A. Johnson. A Master Cosmetologist, Mrs. Johnson had been a hair stylist for 35 years and had also been a supervisor at Best Manufacturing. She was a member of Hatley Baptist Church. She served as president of the Crisp County Homemakers Council for several years, was president of Crisp County Farm Bureau Women's Committee and president of Clements Homemakers Club. Mrs. Johnson promoted and sponsored gospel music at Cordele Community Center for 22 years and was very active in volunteer work, which included singing at ten nursing homes throughout the area. Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2004 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. iIntermentwill follow at Zion Hope Cemetery. She is survived by a son Benjie Johnson of Americus; a daughter and her husband, Julie and Michael Davis of Rochelle; four sisters, Allene Maddox, Jonell Wood and Juanita Thompson all of Cordele; and Marcine and Royce Freeman of Pitts; two granddaughters and their husbands, Regina and Lee Hayslip of Cordele and Renea and Brandon Roobin of Cordele; and a great-grandson, Devin Hayslip of Cordele; She was also preceded in death by a son, Sidney Joey Johnson and a brother, Conell Walker. Rosa Bell Nutt
Rosa Bell Nutt, 94, of Cordele died at Crisp Regional Hospital Saturday, October 2, 2004. Born Saturday, July 2, 1910 in Carrollton, she was the daughter of the late William P. Randolph Smith and Josey Hartley Smith and the widow of Willard Kenneth Nutt. Mrs. Nutt was a homemaker and a member of Pitts Church of God. Funeral services will be held at Rainey Family Funeral Services, Inc. Monday, October 4, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Sandy Mount Cemetery, in Cordele. She is survived by her children, Erma Louise Massey and Dennis W. Nutt and wife, Imogene, all of Cordele, Junior Nutt of Pitts, Ralph C. Nutt and wife, Norma and Wayne Nutt, all of Cordele, Wilma Rich and husband Julian and Jannelle Wallace and husband Otis, all of Pitts. Rudell Medlock
CORDELE - A graveside service for Mr. Rudell Medlock, 67, was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2003 at Sunnyside Cemetery. Rev. George Nelson conducted the service and Rainey Family Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements. A taped arrangement of Rev. and Mrs. Royce Freeman singing “I Want To Stroll Over Heaven With You” was played. Mr. Medlock died February 6, 2003 at the Crisp Regional Nursing and Rehab. Born September 28, 1935 in Franklin County, Alabama, he was the son of the late Lilly Fleming and Walter Lee Medlock. He was a tile layer for the mobile home industry and was a member of the Holiness faith. Survivors include his wife, Sara Ann Medlock of Cordele; two sisters, Lois Martin of Rainsville, Alabama and Opal Gann of Chickamauga. The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.

GEORGE WESLEY JACOBS
George Wesley Jacobs, Sr., 84 of Cordele died at his residence Sunday, October 5, 2003. Born on Saturday, June 21, 1919, in Crisp County, he was the son of the late Christopher Columbus Jacobs and Willie Lee (Hall) Jacobs. Mr. Jacobs was a US Army Veteran of World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star for his actions in the Normandy Invasion. He was retired from the Albany Marine Corp Supply Center and was a member of the Cordele Church of God of Prophecy. Funeral services will be held at Cordele Church of God of Prophecy on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Jewel (Christmas) Jacobs of Cordele; three daughters and sons-in-law, Dolores J. & Clark Henderson, Linda J. & Kenny Faircloth and Patty J. & Rickey Dean, all of Cordele; one son and daughter-in-law George Wesley, Jr. (Buddy) & Tamara Jacobs of Cordele; one sister, Gloria Jacobs Clements of Warner Robins; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn (Jacobs) Moore and Beulah (Jacobs) Porter.
