Estelle Steverson Dunn
Private services for Estelle Steverson Dunn were held Monday, March 14 in the Blockhouse Cemetery.
Dunn, 84, died Wednesday, March 14, 2005. She was the daughter of the late Hallie and Mamie Knight Steverson and was the widow of W.L. Dunn.
She was a native of Telfair County.
Survivors include her son, Marcus Dunn of Orlando, Fla.
Vaughn Funeral Home of McRae was in charge of arrangements.

Daisy Payton Evans
Memorial services for Daisy Payton Evans of McRae were held at 4 p.m. Friday, March 11 at the chapel of Lowe’s Funeral Home in Helena.
The Rev. Doyal Connell officiated.
Evans, 86, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005. She was the daughter of the late Hill Payton and Mattie Harrell and was the widow of Earmon Edgar Evans.
Survivors include her daughters, Ronnie Evans Brantley of Oconee, and Helen R. Lawrence of Alamo; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Lowe’s Funeral Home of Helena was in charge of arrangements.

Nellie Bob Cravey Garrison
Services for Nellie Bob Cravey Garrison of Milan will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 17 at McRae United Methodist Church with interment in the Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery near Milan.
Dr. Bob Williams, the Rev. Bill Ford and the Rev. Connie Walker will officiate.
Garrison, 92, died Monday, March 14, 2005. She was the daughter of the late Joe B. Cravey and Lola Chessie Cobb of Milan and was the widow of Stewart Garrison.
She was a native of Telfair County, graduate of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, and taught school in Telfair County for 39 years. She was an active member of McRae United Methodist Church and Mary Windsor Bible Class, life member of retired teachers organization, and post member of McRae Women’s Circle, County Community Club. She served on the Administrative Board, retired from Pink Lady Telfair County Hospital, past member of Amen Corner and a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority of Georgia.
Survivors include her daughter, Melanie G. and Al Spivey of St. Simons; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Contributions may be made to the McRae United Methodist Church, Mt. Zion or Midway Methodist Church.
Vaughn Funeral Home of McRae was in charge of arrangements.

Leon Franklin Johnson
Services for Leon Franklin Johnson of Americus were held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 14 in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with interment in the Helena City Cemetery.
Bill McKinnon Sr. officiated.
Johnson, 81, died Friday, March 11, 2005. He was the son of the late John Leslie and Dora Elizabeth Harrelson Johnson. He is the widower of Annie Ola Brown Johnson and Robbie Clements Johnson.
He was a native of Wheeler County and owner of Pines Barbecue Restaurant of Helena. He was retired from technical construction and motel service.
Survivors include his daughter, Ola Ann Johnson Spires of Macon; stepsons, Walter Aldridge of Americus and Rex McClinton of Oakwood; and four grandchildren.
Vaughn Funeral Home of McRae was in charge of arrangements.

Edith Cravey Parker
Services for Edith Cravey Parker of Jacksonville, Fla. were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 16 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
Joe Smith and Denise Smith officiated.
Parker, 92, formerly of Milan, died Monday, March 14, 2005. She was the daughter of the late Lock and Emma Williams Cravey and was the widow of Fay Carl Parker.
She was a native of Milan, a homemaker, and member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Survivors include her children, Annette Wilson of Jacksonville, Fla., Diane Tankersley of Carrollton, Henry Parker of Middleburg, Fla., and Jim Edd Parker of St. Augustine, Fla.; sisters, Pauline Parker of Milan and Inez Boatwright of Live Oak, Fla.; 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Vaughn Funeral Home of McRae was in charge of arrangements.

Billie Murray Willcox
Graveside services for Billie Murray Willcox of McRae were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 15 at Oak Grove Cemetery in McRae.
Dr. Bob Williams officiated.
Willcox, died Saturday, March 12, 2005. She was the daughter of the late C.C. Murray and Cora Lee Cravey and was the widow of George M. Willcox. She was preceded in death by her son, George Murray Willcox.
She was a native of Telfair County, a member of the McRae United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Lee Willcox Ballard (Ken) of McRae and two grandchildren.
Lowe’s Funeral Home of Helena was in charge of arrangements.

Glynn Burton
Services for Glynn Burton of McRae were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5 at Turner Chapel A.M.E. Church with interment in Pine Acres Cemetery.
The Rev. Adam Graham III officiated.
Burton, 53, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005. He was the son of the late Will and Willie Mae Burton.
He was a native of Telfair County and was a carpenter.
Survivors include his daughters, Gilennetta Burton and Glenda Burton of Ray City; son, Scott Hamilton Burton of Atlanta; siblings, Jimmy Burton of Atlanta, Helen Hames, Emma Barnes of McRae, Bobby Burton, Douglas Burton of Atlanta, Louella Thomas of Painesville, Ohio and Willa Dene Eason of Helena; and grandchildren.
A.L. Spaulding Funeral Home of McRae was in charge of arrangements.

Emma Dean McDuffie
Graveside services for Emma Dean McDuffie of Hazlehurst were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5 in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Rhine.
The Rev. Dan Jones officiated.
McDuffie, 81, died Thursday, March 3, 2005. She was the daughter of the late John Thomas Bowen and Susan Coley Bowen and was the widow of John Henry McDuffie.
She was a native of Dodge County, a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was a retired civil service employee of Warner Robins Air Force Base.
Survivors include her son, John Milton McDuffie of Hazlehurst; daughter, Susan Latyan Weeks of Tallahassee, Fla.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home of Eastman was in charge of arrangements.

James E. Roberson
Services for James E. Roberson of Hinesville were held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 4 at First United Methodist Church with a private interment.
The Rev. Alan Miller, the Rev. Murray Ward, and the Rev. Joe Roberson officiated.
Roberson, 57, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005. He was the son of the late Tom and Ellen Roberson and was married to Dr. Frances Rozier Roberson of Hinesville.
He was a native of Alabama, and lived the past 24 years in Liberty County. He was an entrepreneur, including ownership of several car dealerships, and was president of the Liberty Group. He was instrumental in the establishment of Brewton Parker College Campus in Liberty County.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his sons, Mark Roberson of Atlanta and Jordan Roberson of Hinesville; daughters, Miranda Roberson of Atlanta and Ginny Williams of Statesboro; and one granddaughter.
Memorials are requested to American Diabetes Association, Georgia Affiliate, One Corporate Square, Ste. 127, Atlanta, GA 30329 or Brewton Parker College Liberty County Campus, 2140 East Oglethorpe Hwy., Hinesville, GA 31313.
Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel of Hinesville was in charge of arrangements.
