DUANE WILSON
July 11, 2005

Mr. Duane Allen Wilson, 81, passed away Monday, July 11, 2005. Services were held on Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at Florida National cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
Mr. Wilson, a retired engineer with Sprint and proud U.S. Navy veteran, was born in Morefield, Ohio. He enjoyed working in his yard and, since his retirement, he and his wife have enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Jane N. Wilson, and children, Cynthia Ann Wesner, Jane Allene Downey and Bruce Allen Wilson; a stepdaughter, Sherry Jane Krause; his brothers, Raymond and Gary Wilson; sister, Helen Lake; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his faithful companion, Bentley.
Heritage Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

FRANCIS HESTER
Oct. 1, 1925 - Nov. 15, 2005

Mr. Francis Ladon Hester, 80, passed away at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, Tallahassee, Fla., on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005.
Mr. Hester was born in Grady County, Oct. 1, 1925, to the late Thomas Lee and Dollie Brock Hester. He was retired, having operated the Whigham Dry Cleaners for nearly 40 years. He also drove a school bus for the Grady County Board of Education for 25 years. Mr. Hester was a decorated war veteran of World War II, serving in both the Pacific and European Theaters. He was a deacon of Whigham Baptist Church.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, at Whigham Baptist Church, Whigham, with the Rev. Harold Burrell officiating. iIntermentfollowed at Woodlawn Cemetery, Whigham.
Active pallbearers were Ray Connell, Harold King, Al Akridge, Phillip Hall, Earl Brock and Frank Geslak.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy McBroom Hester, whom he married Aug. 5, 1949, Whigham; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Mary Hester, Sugar Hill, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law, Eunice and Pat Barbaree, Perry, Fla., Faye and Kevin Hancock, Kaye and Allen Hartsfield and Janice and Tim Lindsay, all of Whigham; brother, James Hester, Cleveland, Ga.; sister, Lillian Reeves, Waynesboro, Ga., and Doris Burgess, Cairo, Ga.; grandchildren, Peter Barbaree, Tallahassee, Charlotte Barbaree, Perry, Fla., Melissa Chancellor and husband Scott, Dothan, Ala., Sam Hartsfield, Jonathan Hartsfield and Heather Lindsay, all of Whigham, Christy Winston and husband John, Lexington, Ga., and Blake Hancock, Camp LeJeune, N.C.; and great-grandchildren, Sam, Will and Abe Chancellor, all of Dothan. Mr. Hester was preceded in death by grandson, Lee Hester, his parents, and a brother, Leo Hester.
Clark Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

RANDALL HUNDLEY
Jan. 25, 1942 - Nov. 12, 2005

Mr. Randall Hundley, 63, of Whigham, Ga., passed away Nov. 12, 2005, at his place of residence following a brief illness.
Mr. Hundley was born in Whigham, Jan. 25, 1942, to the late Israel and Ruth Hundley. He was a laborer, attended Whigham Junior High School and was a member of New Hope M.B. Church.
Services were held at New Hope M.B. Church in Whigham, on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. W.L. Perry and the Rev. Ronald Williams officiating. iIntermentfollowed at Sweet Water Cemetery, Whigham.
Active pallbearers were Michael Hundley, Ricky Hundley, Carl Hundley, Walter Leeks, Collin Leeks Sr., Bobby Simmons and Jerome Borden.
Survivors include three sons, Patrick (Rose) Hundley, Whigham, and Robert and Ronald Hundley, both of Cleveland, Ohio; two daughters, Andrea and Latricia Hundley, both of Cleveland; two brothers, Carl (Liz) Hundley, Akron, Ohio, and Raymond Hundley, Cleveland; one sister, Barbara (Fred) Anthony, Wilmington, Del.; devoted cousins, like sisters, Esther Hall, West Palm Beach, Fla., and Shirley Ann Price, Whigham; two aunts, Buena Long, Philadelphia, Pa., and Mollie Arnett, Whigham; one uncle, Allan Arnett, Whigham; four devoted friends, Bobby Simmons, Cairo, Ruby and Martin Jackson, both of Cairo, and Jack Demps, Whigham; a mother-in-law, Dosie Johnson, Cleveland; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Cloud and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MARGARET JOHNSON
April 27, 1932 - Nov. 18, 2005

Mrs. Margaret Bembry Johnson of Whigham, Ga., passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, at Grady General Hospital, Cairo, Ga.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Moore Haven, Fla., April 27, 1932, to the late Robert and Hattie Monroe Bembry. She lived in Ft. Myers, Fla., (graduating from high school there) from 1935 until her retirement in 1991. She was currently residing in Whigham, and was retired from the pharmacy department with the State of Florida. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church, Whigham.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, 2005, at Magnolia Baptist Church, Whigham, with the Rev. Beau Cooksey officiating. iIntermentfollowed at Woodlawn Cemetery, Whigham.
Active pallbearers were David Martel, Tracey Martel, Timothy Martel, Bill McGaughey, Larry R. Johnson and Dean Harris Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Frank R. Johnson, whom she married March 9, 1951, Whigham; son, Lawrence Alan Johnson, Whigham; grandsons, Christopher Alan Johnson and John Robinson Johnson, both of Whigham; great-grandchildren, J.R. Johnson and Megan Johnson, both of Whigham; sisters, Lorene Hall, New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Edith Willis and Ruth Johnson, both of Ft. Myers; and sisters-in-law, Nona Bembry, Helen H. Hendry, Virginia Skipper and husband Larry, all of Ft. Myers. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by a son, Frank R. Johnson, Jr., parents, brothers, Sonny, Bud, J.T. and Calvin Bembry, and a sister, Grace McGaughey.

LISA JONES
May 2, 1966 - Nov. 11, 2005

Mrs. Lisa Denise Clark Jones, 39, of 1145 11th Street, N.E., Cairo, Ga., passed away Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, at Archbold Medical Hospital, Thomasville, Ga.
Mrs. Jones was born in Thomasville on May 2, 1966. To the late Tommy Pew and Helen Clark, who survives. She was married to David Jones Sr. Mrs. Jones lived several years in Cairo and worked as a sales clerk at Moore’s Department Store, Cairo. She attended Thomasville High School and graduated with the class of 1984. She was a 1993 graduate of Thomas Area Technical School (surgical). Mrs. Jones was a member of Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church, Thomasville.
Services were held at St. James Primitive Baptist Church, Thomasville, on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005, at 1 p.m. with the Elder Jimmy Simmons, officiating. iIntermentfollowed at Peaceful Rest Cemetery, Thomasville.
Active pallbearers were members of the Thomasville High School Class of 1984.
Honorary pallbearers included Willie Johnson, Ricky Johnson and Bobby Glosier jr.
Survivors include her husband, David Jones Sr., Cairo; mother, Helen E. Clark, Thomasville; daughter, Danisha Z. Jones, Cairo; sister, Annette C. Meeks, Thomasville; brother, Amos Clark, Tallahassee, Fla.; aunts, Norma Grant, Mae Lizzie Bryant, and Annie Pew, all of Thomasville, Virginia Chance, St. Petersburg, Fla., Mary Jones, Janie Crawford and Lillie Ruth Shivers, all of Cairo, Rosa Watson and Felton Watson, both of Atlanta, Ga. and Emma Grace Hill, New York, N.Y.; uncles, Nathaniel McIntyre, Joseph McIntyre and Henry McIntyre, all of Thomasville, Paul Jones and David Shivers, both of Cairo, and Marion Pew and Jacob Pew, both of Tallahassee; brothers-in-law, Benjamin Meeks, Thomasville, Tommy Jones, South Carolina, Willie Jones, Atlanta, Ga., and Curtis Shivers, Cairo; sisters-in-law, Chevette Clark, Tallahassee, Mary Jones, Hazel Jones, Sadie Jones and Teresa Jones, all of Cairo, Brenda Jones and Linda Jones, both of Atlanta, Ga., and Debra Jones, South Carolina; special cousins, Paul and Carolyn Jones, Albany, Ga.; special niece, Candace Meeks, Savannah, Ga.; special nephews, Ken Meeks, Pine Park, Ga., and Benjamin Meeks Jr., Thomasville; special friend, Eloise Pew, Thomasville; special cousin, Sharon E. Tyler, Atlanta; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

NORWOOD KING
November 20, 2005

Mr. Norwood Jack King, 93, of Eastman, Ga., died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, in Middle Georgia Nursing Home.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005, at First United Methodist Church, Eastman, with the Rev. Russ Elkins officiating, with interment in Orphans Cemetery.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Donald Dean, Herman Sanders, and members of the Tom Oliver Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church.
Active pallbearers included Anthony Tucker, Charles Tucker, Bobby Burch, Ron Edge, Dan Hildebrand and Neal Minor.
Mr. King was a native of Grady County, Ga., born in Whigham, a member of Eastman First United Methodist Church, retired roads and bridges construction superintendent for 46 years for Coffee Construction Company and son of the late John R. King and Elizabeth Baggett King. He was a veteran of World War II, U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, a member of Eastman American Legion and received two Bronze Stars, the World War II Victory Medal, the American Service Medal, the Expert Rifle Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal while serving his country.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Bonnie Martin King, Eastman; daughter, June K. Jones (Richard), Eastman; grandsons, Matthew Jones (Paula) and Andrew Jones; great-granddaughters, Ellie Jones and Leighton Jones; sister, Dr. Doris E. King, Raleigh, N.C.; and sister-in-law, Janie King, Cairo, Ga.
Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home, Inc., Eastman, was in charge of arrangements.

SONJI THOMAS
June 20, 1980 - Nov. 14, 2005

Miss Sonji Thomas, 28, passed away at her place of residence on Nov. 14, 2005.
Miss Thomas was born June 20, 1980, in Cairo, Ga., to Mr. Tommy Thomas and the late Mrs. Edna Thomas.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, at Beulah M.B. Church with the Rev. Dellise Cox officiating. iIntermentfollowed at Crestview Cemetery, Cairo.
Active pallbearers were friends of the family.
Survivors include a loving father, Tommy B. Thomas; a brother, Marcus B. Thomas; grandmother, Elva L. Robinson; devoted aunt, Alberta R. Wilkins; aunt, Angelyn Myles, all of Cairo; aunts, Carolyn D. Robinson, Riviera Beach, Fla., and Frances Robinson, Decatur, Ga.; uncles, James H. Robinson and Elmo Wilkins, both of Cairo; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

EARL BONE
Oct. 16, 1917 - Dec. 9, 2005

Mr. Earl Bone, 88, passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, at Archbold Memorial Hospital, Thomasville, Ga.
Mr. Bone was born Oct. 16, 1917, in Alabama, to the late Lemet Randall and Georgia Mitchell Bone. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Bone was a retired farmer and member of Gordon Heights Baptist Church.
Services were held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005, graveside in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo with the Rev. John Paul Hasick officiating.
Survivors include a son, Edsel Bone, Cairo; daughter, Phyllis Pearce, Cairo; grandchildren, Amanda Owens, Dallas, Ga., Wade Bone, Thomasville, Adriann Bone, Cairo, Tyler French, Martinez, Ga., Sandra Pearce, Cairo, Mark Pearce, Cairo, and Jennifer Pearce, Cairo; and great-grandchildren, Lauren Waldron, Cairo, Peyton Pearce, Cairo, Jacob Morrell, Cairo, and Stephen Owens, Dallas.

PEGGY DYOUS
Jan. 8, 1942 - Dec. 8, 2005

Mrs. Peggy Walker Dyous, 63, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, in Cairo, Ga.
Mrs. Dyous was born Jan. 8, 1942, in Cairo, to the late Alford Hugh and Evelyn Jewel Mobley Walker. She was of the Baptist faith and a dedicated homemaker.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005, graveside in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, with the Rev. Dewayne Lashley officiating.
Survivors include her husband, William Samuel Dyous Sr., whom she married June 2, 1998, Cairo; son, Danny Harold Powers, Cairo; daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn Mandy Morgan and Robert Lee Redfearn, Cairo, Debbie Powers and Harold Thomas Jr., Lakeland, Fla., Tammy Faye Wade and Douglas Simpson, Cairo, and Sherry Ann and Chad Sweat, Cairo; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Wendell Walker, Pelham, Ga., Gwen Walker, Bold Knob, Ar., and A. Jay Walker, Chiefland, Fla.; and sister, Helen Brazewell, Newton, Ga.
Mrs. Dyous was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Walker, and brother, Ronnie H. Walker.
