Lenora Irene Talley, 60, of St. Marys died Tuesday at her residence.

Arrangements will be announced by Allison Memorial Chapel of St. Marys.

Connie Brinson

Connie H. Brinson Jr., 78, a 39-year resident of Jacksonville, Fla., died April 7, 2001.

He was retired from the Florida Department of General Services and the U.S. Army. Maj. Brinson was an Army Ranger and served in the 187th and 82nd Airborne Divisions during World War II. He also served during the Korean Conflict.

His wife, Dicie Louise Brinson preceded him in death.

He is survived by one daughter, Connie (Ray) Newton of Jacksonville; one son, Lonnie (Elaine) Brinson of Brunswick; three sisters, Margaret Jenkins, Lena Dixon and Peggy Langham, all of Georgia; one sister-in-law, Lonnie Sobol of Ponte Vedra, Fla.; five grandchildren, Travis, David, Michael, Tammy and P.J.; and six great grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. April 11, 2001, at the Glynn Rose cemetery in Brunswick.

Robbia Hunt Knebel, 88, of St. Simons Island, died today.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.

Local survivors include three grandchildren, Katherine Maurath, Paul San Luis and Steven San Luis, all of St. Simons Island.

Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Alex Chaney

A graveside service for Alex Chaney of Woodbine was to have been held at 3 p.m. today at the Colesburg cemetery in Woodbine with the Revs. Eddie Rawl and Jimmie Cone officiating.

Mr. Chaney, 95, died Saturday at the St. Marys Convalescent Center.

Surviving are one step-daughter, Nell Waldron of Woodbine; one half-brother, Joe B. Chaney of Woodbine; three half-sisters, Gladys Browning of Fernandina Beach, Fla., Delorse Langley of Tallahassee, Fla., and Sarah Crownoner of Florida; three grandsons, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and other relatives.

Mr. Chaney was a member of the Woodbine United Methodist Church and was formerly a deputy with the Camden County Sheriff's Department.

Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston is in charge of arrangements.

Jefferson Zeigler

Jefferson B. "J.B." Zeigler Jr., 70, died Saturday at his residence in Brunswick.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. William Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Mervin Bennett, Kevin Bennett, Wayne Bennett, Andy Cone, Sid Gonzalez, Michael Gonzalez, Edwin O'Quinn and David Hughes.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of God of Prophecy.

Surviving are his wife, Jeanette Zeigler of Brunswick; three sons, Hugh and wife Carol Zeigler, Steve Zeigler, all of Brunswick, and Jimmy and wife Robin Zeigler of Waynesville; two daughters, Kathy Wolfes and Cheryl Zeigler, both of Brunswick; three grandsons; one granddaughter; one stepgrandson; two sisters, Euna Muriel of Homerville and Laura Bennett of Fargo; two brothers, J.W. Zeigler of Hickson, Tenn., and Bonnie Zeigler of Albany; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Zeigler was a native of Echols County and had been a resident of Glynn County since 1969. He was employed as pressman for The Brunswick News until his retirement. Mr. Zeigler was an avid gardener and fisherman, and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Lillian Story

Lillian B. Story, 80, of Brunswick died Friday in Owensboro, Ky.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Union cemetery in Wayne County with the Rev. Clarke Wiggins Sr. officiating.

Pallbearers are Leon Moody, Gerald Moody, Leroy Moody, Donnie Royal, Peanut Davis and Larry Davis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 1614 Union Street, Brunswick, GA 31520 or to the American Lung Association.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Chapman Funeral Chapel.

Surviving are a daughter, Lillian M. Story Bennett of Hawesville, Ky.; a sister, Martha Summerville of Brunswick; a brother, C.S. Miller of Brunswick; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Story resided in Brunswick all of her life until relocating to Hawesville five years ago. She was an electrical assistant working with her husband in their electrical business.

Norman Malinowski

Omie Gibson

Omie Marjorie Gibson Evans, 88, of Brunswick died Friday at her residence.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Palmetto cemetery with the Rev. Ron Stinson officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steven McDonald, Donald Smith II, Don Smith Sr., Mickey Wendel, Butch Hubbard, Don Brannon, Cal McDonald, Henry Garrett, C.A. Cloud, Robert Ussery, Joseph DeFoggi, Sadie Brundage, Teddy and Theodore Miller and Will McDonald.

The family will be at the residence of Dorman McDonald, 2817 Parkwood Dr., Brunswick, and will receive friends at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Calvary Baptist Church or Hospice of the Golden Isles.

She is survived by a sister, Gladys Gibson Thomas of Albany; nieces and nephews and spouses, Dorman L. and Rudine McDonald, Carroll Q. McDonald, Bob and Margie Wendel, Elenor Brown, all of Brunswick; Priscilla Daughtry of Virginia Beach, Va., and Diane Herndon of Montgomery, Ala.

Ms. Evans was a native of Lineville, Alabama, and had been a resident of Glynn County 63 years. She was a graduate of Jacksonville College in Jacksonville, Ala. She was a Western Union telegraph operator in Florida and Georgia until her marriage, then she and her husband operated Evans Radio in downtown Brunswick for 35 years until her retirement 43 years ago.

Ms. Evans was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Faithful Disciples Sunday School Class. She was a member of AARP, I.F.A. and Christian Women's Fellowship.

Margie Kirby

Kirby was a lifelong resident of Fannin County, and a member of the Mineral Bluff Baptist Church. She was employed for 28 years at the Morganton Elementary School as a secretary. She was preceded in death by her father, Hobert Turner of Mineral Bluff. Survivors include her husband, Howard Kirby; mother Edith Cochran Turner of Mineral Bluff; daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Greg Nazerian of Mineral Bluff; brothers Robert L. “Bob” Turner of Bogart, Ga. and David Turner of Tupelo, Miss.; sisters Pat Crawford of Blue Ridge, and Rose Nix of Rome, Ga; and grandsons, Jordan and Stephen Nazerian.
Funeral services were held Sept. 4 at 11 a.m. from the Mineral Bluff Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Clayton officiating. Music was by Sheila Thomas. Pallbearers were Stephen and Jordan Nazerian, Nathan and Austin Nix, Roger Long, Jerry Davenport and Kevin Crawford. iIntermentfollowed in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery. Henry - Cochran Funeral

Gilbert Lohman

He was a native of Wisconsin and lived in Florida for 10 years prior to moving to north Georgia 22 years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife Betty Jane Lohman; daughter and son-in-law Sharon Lee and George Robert Deer of Rossville; granddaughter and husband Teresa Ann and Douglas Pulliam of Blue Ridge; great- grandson Brandon Keith Dills of Rossville; great- granddaughter Michells Cecelia Pulliam of Blue Ridge; brother and sister-in-law Melvin G. and LaVerne Lohman of Milwaukee, Wis.; and brother-in-law Eugene E. Bruhn of Lake Mills, Wis. Funeral services were Sept. 4 at 11 a.m. at South Crest Chapel with the Rev. Greg Gaddis officiating. iIntermentfollowed in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens. Arrangements were by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

Delma Pickelsimer

Pickelsimer was born in Fannin County to the late George M. Ross and Thedoshia King Ross. She was a homemaker and had lived in Smyrna for 25 years. Prior to that, she had lived in Detroit, Mich. and had been preceded in death by her husband, Richard. Survivors include a sister Dolly Cook of Blairsville and a brother W.T. Ross of Junction City, Kan.
Funeral services were held Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, with the Rev. Ned Wilcoxon officiating. Special music was presented by Howard Brys. The pallbearers were Donald Cook Sr., Billy Joe Cook, Kenneth Ross, R.V. Warren, Kevin Daniels and Tommy Childers. iIntermentwas in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville was in charge of the arrangements.
