Oscar Steven, 77, of Apt. #60 Heritage Village, Blackshear, passed away early Friday morning, February 10, 2006, at his residence.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Rainge Memorial Chapel, Inc.

Dalton C. ‘D.C.’ Clark

Dalton C. “D.C.” Clark, 92, passed away early Friday morning, February 10, 2006, at the Baptist Village Nursing Home.
A native and life-long resident of Pierce County, he was a retired supervisor for Ryder Truck Lines and was also a US Army Veteran having served during World War II. He was a member of the Blackshear First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents, John Mitchell and Minnie Rhoddenberry Clark; his wife, Leona Arrie Howell Clark; his daughter, Wanda Gail Clark and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Eric Clark, Jacksonville, FL, and Wade and Sharon Clark, Ponte Vedra, FL; a brother, Archie Clark, Blackshear; two half-sisters, Sara Hickox and Geraldine Crook, both of Richmond Hill; two grandchildren, Christi Hetzel and Christopher Clark; two great-grandchildren, Christian Hetzel and Sydney Hetzel and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 13, from the Pearson-Treadwell Chapel with the Rev. Bob Hutcherson and the Rev. Dr. Bill Young officiating.
iIntermentwas in the Oakland Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Joe Clark, Ralph Clark, Don Howell, Ray Howell, Revis Courson and Danny Howell.
Pearson-Treadwell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Helen Mae Youmans

Helen Mae Miles Youmans, 78, died Monday morning, February 13, 2006, at Satilla Regional Medical Center in Waycross after an extended illness.
A native of Meadeville, PA, she had lived in many different places during her husband’s military career. She had lived in Pierce County since 1962.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry See and Jennie Mae Deitrich Miles.
She was retired from the Pierce County Hospital as an operating room technician.
She was a longtime member of Youmans Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, William Roy Youmans, Blackshear; three sons Larry Youmans (wife Jerry), Waycross, Walter Youmans (wife Dana) Waycross, and Robert Youmans, Brunswick; four grandchildren, Tony Youmans (wife Jenna), Waycross, Stacy Bashlor (husband Will), Waycross, Leslie Johnson (husband Jarod), Blackshear and Ryan Youmans, Valdosta and six great-grandchildren; a brother Walter S. Miles (wife Pat), Charleston, SC; a sister Mildred Salazar, Poland, IN and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 16, from the Youmans Chapel Baptist Church.
iIntermentwill follow in the Waters Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening (Wednesday, February 15) at Smith Funeral Home in Blackshear.

Archie B. Crews

Archie B. Crews, 88, of Hoboken, passed away late Monday evening, January 30, 2006, at the Satilla Regional Medical Center.
A native and life-long resident of Brantley County, he was retired from the Brantley County Road Department and was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where he was in the Adult II Sunday School Class. He will be remembered as a faithful and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a son of the late Ira J. and Neva Dixon Crews and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Gwendolyn Crews; a great-grandchild, Ashley Tiner; two sisters, Martha Lee Crews and Frances Hyers and two brothers, Farley Crews and Reppard Crews.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary Griffin Crews, Hoboken; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Lonnie DuBose, Joyce and Julian “Woody” Woodcock and Janice and David Zak, all of Brunswick; a son and daughter-in-law, Warren and Carolyn Crews, Brunswick; five grandchildren, Donna Jo Herrin, Waycross, Susan (Charlie) Faulk, Cassandra (Joey) Bartlett and Emily Zak, all of Brunswick and Jennifer Zak, Statesboro; four great-grandchildren, Chad Herrin, Waycross, Heather Henrique, Harrison Faulk and Kendall Anne Faulk, all of Brunswick, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Troy Thomas, Waycross, Mattie Lou and Harry Cohen, Douglas and Thelma and Herbert Strickland, Jacksonville, FL; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Fleming and Hilda Crews and Whitmer and Ermalene Crews, all of Hoboken and Elzria and Jeanette Crews, Waycross; two sisters-in-law, Vannie Crews, Jacksonville, FL and Virginia Crews, Homerville; a brother-in-law, Bennie Hyers, Waycross and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 2, from the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
iIntermentfollowed in the High Bluff Cemetery.
Members of the Adult II Sunday School Class served as honorary pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Gladys Rose Sosville Hodges

Gladys Rose Sosville Hodges, 85, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away late Tuesday evening, January 31, 2006, at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida.
A native of Ludlow, MA, she had lived in Massachusetts for many years before moving to Florida several years ago. She was a homemaker and was a daughter of the late John and Edith Robideau Sosville. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Daniel Hodges and by a brother, Francis Sosville. Her family said, “She was blessed with the gifts of love, mercy, giving and laughter and of these gifts she freely gave to all around her. She will be missed deeply until we meet again.”
Survivors include four daughters, Candace Rutledge and Pamela Peterson, both of Jacksonville, Cheryl Woodman, Arlington, TX and Gail Ryan, Chicoppee, MA; a son, Charles Hodges Jr., Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Robert Sosville, Spring Hill, FL; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 4, from the Pearson-Treadwell Chapel.

Memorials may be made to the Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257.

Antonio Demetrius Presley

Antonio Presley, 17, of 1306 Session Hill Road, Blackshear, died early Sunday morning, January 22, 2006, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup.
Antonio was born September 1, 1988 in Waycross, as the son of Brenda L. Presley and James Jernigan III.
He lived most of his life in Blackshear where he attended the public schools. While attending Blackshear Elementary he was a member of the “PAWS” Club and they were awarded an expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. for their performances.
He later attended Pierce County Middle School and played on the football team.
Like most other young men his age, Antonio was also known by a nickname — “Dirty Red”. He was loved deeply by his very large and extended family as well as the community of friends he had acquired in his young years.
Survivors include his mother, Brenda L. Presley and step-father, Larry Lively, both of Blackshear; his father, James Jernigan III, Jesup; grandparents, Edward (Betty S.) Presley, Blackshear and James Jernigan Jr. (Elizabeth Kelly), Jesup; five sisters, April N. and Ashley M. Presley, both of Waycross, Dorice Hardy and Kendra Tillman, both of Jesup and Dutchess Jernigan, Patterson; two brothers, James Jernigan IV, Patterson and Jaiquan Jernigan, Jesup; 10 aunts, fiveuncles, a best friend: David D. Presley and a special friend, Anthony Wade Yohn, both of Blackshear, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 28, from the Faith Temple Holiness Church on Hall Street in Blackshear, with Elder Bussey officiating.
iIntermentfollowed in the Union Chapel cemetery in Mershon.

Jacquelyn ‘Jackie’ Lawrence Titcher

Jacquelyn “Jackie” Lawrence Titcher, 70, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 24, 2006, at the Satilla Regional Medical Center following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
A native of Fayette County, West Virginia, she had lived in Pierce County for the last several years. She was a former executive secretary for the State of West Virginia Board of Nursing and was of the Presbyterian faith. She was a member of the Blackshear Exchange Club and had also volunteered at the Blackshear Memorial Library. She founded the West Virginia Hillbilly Hot Dog Social for all West Virginians living in Pierce and surrounding counties. She was a daughter of the late Charlotte Booth Owens and was also preceded in death by two aunts, Billie Voight and Ann Stephenson.
Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Good, St. Albans, WV; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Andy and Vicki Titcher, North Augusta, SC and Dana Titcher and Jodi Johnson, Blackshear; seven grandchildren, Crystal Good, Kara Good, Lindsey Good, Drew Titcher, Ashley Titcher, Sarah Titcher and Holly Titcher; four great-grandchildren, several other loving relatives and numerous friends.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 30, from the Tyler Mountain Funeral Home Chapel in Cross Lanes, WV.
iIntermentfollowed in the Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens.
Memorialization is by cremation.
Memorials may be made to the Southeast Cancer Unit, PO Box 2764, Waycross, GA 31502.

Margery Marie Hall Willoughby

Margery Marie Hall Willoughby, 94, of Patterson passed away early Monday afternoon, January 23, 2006, at the Satilla Care Center.
A native of Ironton, OH, she had lived in Dayton, OH for many years before moving to Pierce County several years ago. She was a housewife and was preceded in death by her parents, Lottie and Josephine Hall, and her husband, Herbert Willoughby Sr.
Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Bertha “Pat” Marsh, Patterson, Alice Rose Shepard, Hillsboro, OH and Gloria Jean and Caleb Warner, St. Paris, OH; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 27, from the graveside at the Woodland cemetery in Dayton, OH.

Henry Wade ‘Jack’ O’Berry

Henry Wade “Jack” O’Berry, 81, of Blackshear, died suddenly Thursday morning, January 26, 2006, at his residence.
A native of Pierce County, he had lived in Duval County for many years before moving back to Pierce County. He was a retired welder with the Jacksonville Shipyards and was a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II. He was also a Mason. He was a son of the late Emmitt and Anna Mae Thomas O’Berry and was also preceded in death by his wife, Macy Louise Durrence O’Berry, and a son, Henry Wade O’Berry.
Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law, Loudean and David Hodge, Hortense and Melissa and Jad Chancey, Blackshear; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Henry Lee O’Berry and Michael and Glenda O’Berry, all of Blackshear, Cecil and JoAnn O’Berry, Pine Top, AZ and James and Patricia O’Berry, Patterson; a daughter-in-law, Brenda O’Berry, Hoboken; three sisters, Ida Mae Clark, Jesup and Louise Owens and Irene Chancey, both of Offerman; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Laverne O’Berry, Offerman; 20 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 28, from the graveside at the New Home Cemetery.

Infant Ethan James Crawford

Infant Ethan James Crawford of Blackshear died Wednesday, January 25, 2006, at the South Georgia Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his parents, Christopher and Sarah Wynn Crawford, Blackshear; two brothers, Christopher Wynn Crawford and John Thomas Crawford, both of Blackshear; his maternal grandparents, Scott and Cheryl Wynn, Sycamore; his paternal grandmother, Mary Godwin, Blackshear; his maternal great-grandmothers, Hazel Bell, Sycamore and Estelle Wynn, Albany; his paternal great-grandparents, Virlyn and Joyce Peacock, Blackshear; an aunt, Rebecca (Nicolis) Davis, Atlanta; an uncle, Drew Crawford, Waycross and several other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 30, from the graveside at the Bethel Baptist Church cemetery in Sycamore.
