Thomas Richard Craig, Sr.

Mr. Thomas Richard Craig, Sr., age 82 of Cumming, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2007. He was preceeded in death by his son, Thomas Richard Craig, Jr.; daughter, Nevajane Craig and son, Steve Craig.

Survivors include wife, Helen Craig of Cumming; grandchildren, Natalya and Neil Frankel of Armonk, NY, Nevajane and Gene Tuggle of Cumming, Noelia Cadle of Conyers, Christina Majoris of Kennesaw, and David Majoris of Kennesaw; great grandchildren, Kalie Cadle, Alan Cadle, Kalab Tuggle, Alyssa Tuggle, Craig Keahey, Lexi Frankel, Dylan Frankel; sisters and brothers, Bertha and Benny Dixon, May Vigneault and Julia Ann Hendrix; James W. Jr. and Clarine Craig, Charles and Carlene Craig and Yosho Shiko Craig; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 16, 2007 at 2:00 pm in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Jackson officiating. iIntermentwill follow at the Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Forest Park, GA at 3:45p.m. Visitation will be on Friday, December 14, 2007, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Theresa S. Armstrong

Theresa S. Armstrong, age 59, of Cumming passed away Sunday, December 16, 2007 at Northside Hospital Forsyth. A native of Cheyenne, WY, Mrs. Armstrong was self-employed in child care and was a Catholic. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Rosan Armstrong; her parents, Timoteo and Agnes Juanita Sandeoval and a brother, Samuel Sandeoval.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Edward Armstrong, Jr. of Cumming; a daughter, Valerie Christina Armstrong of Cumming; a son, Charles Edward Armstrong, III of Tampa, FL; brothers and sisters, Timothy and Theresa Sandeoval, Helen and Harl Doty, Gilbert and Lara Sandeoval, Stevan Sandeoval, Irene Llamas, Louis Sandeoval, all of Cheyenne, WY, Cleotilbe Mason of Flint, TX and Jose and Carmen Dandeoval of Cheyenne, WY; and grandchildren, Adrianna, Joshua and Christina Armstrong.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 20, at 11am at Good Shepherd Catholic Church with The Rev. Fr. Peter Rau as Celebrant. iIntermentwill follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Christian Wake Service at 7:00 p.m.

Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Good Shepherd Parish Building Fund.

Tammie Darlene Carter Whittle

Mrs. Tammie Darlene Carter Whittle, age 44 of Eastridge, TN, passed away Monday, December 10, 2007. Mrs. Whittle was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her brother Terry James Carter.

Survivors include her husband Mike Whittle; parents Elbert and Elizabeth Carter, Lawrenceville; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 14, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Darrell Dobson, Rev. Clyde Boling and Rev. Robby Payne officiating. iIntermentwill follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:00 until 9:00 pm.

Ruth Ineal Fouts Groover

Mrs. Ruth Ineal Fouts Groover, age 83 of Cumming, GA passed away Thursday, December 6, 2007 in Centerville, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert Caroll Groover. Mrs. Groover was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Rupert Earl and Regina Groover of Cumming; daughter and son-in-law, Rita Ann (Groover) and Gene McFarland of Centerville, UT; grandchildren and spouses, Jason and (Sara) McFarland, Andy & (Brianna) McFarland, Kelly and (Jacob) Otteson, Matthew McFarland, all of Centerville, UT, Eric and (Courtney) Groover of Elizabethtown, KY; and Dedra Groover of Cumming; two great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Luther S. & Jewell Fouts of Atlanta; three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 3 pm in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lee Gaddis, Rev. Bud Sutton and Rev. Eric Groover officiating. iIntermentwill follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, December 12, 2007 from 1p.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any Missionary charities (i.e. Gideons or Lottie Moon).

Rev. J. Lynn Dack
August 28, 1934 – March 23, 2008

Rev. J. Lynn Dack, 73, of Dawsonville died Sunday March 23, 2008 at Lanier Park Hospital following a period of declining health.

Born in Painesville, Ohio, Rev. Dack had lived in Dawson County since 1993. He worked for twenty years at the East Ohio Gas Company before going into full time gospel singing with the Evangelaires Quartet. For many years he managed the group and sang baritone. He founded and pastored the First Church of God in Ft. Mitchell, AL after which he was called to pastor Ellet Community Church of God in Akron, Ohio where he served for over five years. He then pastored the First Church of God in East Liverpool, Ohio and his last pastorate was the First Church of God in Lafayette, GA where he served over seven years. He retired in 2006. Rev. Dack was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Dack, brother, Jerry Lee Dack, sisters Marjorie JoAnn Dack and JoEllen Marie Gilliam, and son in law, Stanley Curtis.

Surviving are his wife of 36 years, JoAnne Groves Dack, Dawsonville, daughters and sons in law, Terri and Arnett Seeker, Sonora, KY, Vicki Curtis, Buford, GA, Lori and Anthony Pavlik, Canal Fulton, OH; mother, Judith G. Dack, Ransomville, NY; sister, Judith E. Wood, Ransomville, NY; brother, Gene Dack, Cuyahoga Falls, OH, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 25, 2008 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jeffrey L. Groves will officiate.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.

Nellie D. Redd

Mrs. Nellie D. Redd, age 76 of Cumming, passed away Friday afternoon December 7, 2007. Nellie was a member of Cumming Second Baptist Church and was a blessing to the Forsyth County community working in the nursing profession for over 50 years at the Forsyth County Hospital and the Cumming Medical Group. She was known as the "best shot giver in town" by many. Her grandchildren remember her as an avid gardener, a terrific cook and a great basketball player. She is preceded in death by her husband Carter Redd; mother Maybell Munda; father Abiga Munda; sisters Kate Hartley, Ruby Munda, Lou Bramblett and Arvilla Mathis; brother Clay Munda; and grandson Cody Redd.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Sammy and Billie Redd, Alan Redd, Stanley and Cindy Redd all of Cumming; daughter and son-in-law Terri and Ron Samples from Cumming; grandchildren Alicia Simmons and husband Clark, Carla Henderson and husband Rusty, Jessica Smith and husband Rhodie, Lauren Samples, Tina Weatherly, Malcolm Redd, Austin Redd and Jameson Redd; great grandchildren Presley Simmons, Miller Simmons and Rhodie Smith; brother J. C. Munda; sisters and brother-in-law Betty Perkins, Barbara Hubbard, Peggy and Ralph Cloud; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Daryl and Jean Redd, Audrey Gravitt and Marie Redd. Nellie was also loved and adored by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 9, 2007 at 3:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Orr and Rev. Roger Shadburn officiating. iIntermentfollowed in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Patricia "Pat" Cody

Mrs. Patricia "Pat" Cody, age 79 of Suwanee, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Brian Cody.

Survivors include: children, Susane J. Cody of Boxborough, MA and Jody C. Price of Cumming; sons-in-law, Blair W. Price and Jeffrey W. Coldwell; cousin, Larry Cumming of Loveland, CO; 5 grandchildren, Alden Jane Coldwell, Jack S. Coldwell, Harry B. Coldwell, Patricia Jane Price, and Cody Arthur Price; and other relatives also survive.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 7:00 pm in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Craig Richard officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Louise Elizabeth Fritts Johnson

Mrs. Louise Elizabeth Fritts Johnson age 87 of Cumming formerly of Harriman, Tennessee passed away Thursday December 13, 2007 at Cumming Nursing Home. Graveside services will be 1 PM Sunday December 16th at Roane Memorial Gardens cemetery in Rockwood, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her Husband Harland Johnson who passed away in 1977. Survivors Include: 2 Daughters Susan & Donald Sobeck of Ball Ground, Georgia and Becky & Larry Bauer of St. Thomas Virgin Islands, Sister Pauline Cooper of Kingston, Tennessee, Grandson Jason Gaul. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Crossroads Hospice of Atlanta 1957 Lakeside Parkway Suite 500 Tucker, Georgia 30084. Mrs. June Irvin Murrans

Mrs. June Irvin Murrans, age 84 of Cumming formerly of Dunwoody passed away Saturday March 29, 2008. Mrs. Murrans was a member of Peachtree Presbyterian for over 40 years. She served as an Elder and a member of the church choir; she also was President of the Women of the Church. She had a passion for Tennis and Golf, and was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother.

Survivors Include: Her Husband of 60 years Mr. Leonard Murrans. 3 Daughters Susie Duke of Cumming, Linda & Paul Stypulkowski of North Oaks, Minnesota, Elizabeth & Perry Norman of Cumming. 7 Grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Murrans will be 11 AM Saturday April 5 at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in the Kellett Chapel with Dr. Steve Huntley officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to your favorite charity or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Mrs. Jimmie Ruth Luke
May 28, 1925 – March 27, 2008

Mrs. Jimmie Ruth Luke, age 82 of Dawsonville, passed away on March 27, 2008 at her residence following a period of declining health.

Mrs. Luke was a native of Franklin County, GA and a homemaker. She and her husband of 65 years, Bishop S.A. Luke had resided in North Carolina, Georgia, Ohio, Texas, Washington D.C., and South Carolina. During those years Mrs. Luke faithfully supported the ministries of her husband during his years of pastoral work. She was a member of the Praise Cathedral in Greer, SC and attended New Life Church of God in Dawsonville. Mrs. Luke was a faithful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Bishop S.A. Luke, Dawsonville; daughters and sons in law, Judy Morgan, Westminster, SC, Janet and Robert Combs, Columbus, OH, Jimmie and Mike Owens, Dawsonville; son and daughter in law, Bishop Sam and Donna Luke, Monroe, MI.

16 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren also survive

Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Luke will be held on Saturday March 29, 2008 at 2 PM at The New Life Church of God, Rev. Mike Owens, Rev. Bob Daugherty, and Bishop Jerry Madden officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to:

Paul and Rhonda Stockard in Paraguay, Project Number 060-0073 and /or Ben and Diane Bustamante in Italy, Project Number 065-0070. Donations with project numbers can be mailed to the Church of God World Missions - Accounting Center P.O. Box 8016, Cleveland, TN 37320-8016.

Mrs. Aline Wilder, age 69 of Canton, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007. Mrs. Wilder was a member of Sixes Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Estelle Turner and children Lawrence Pace and Vickie Puckett.

Survivors include her husband William P. Wilder of Canton; daughter Pat Roper and S. A. Dunlap of Alabama; sons Larry Pace of Cumming and Curtis Pace and Marie Judd of Dawsonville; grandchildren Curtis Pace Jr. and Henry Puckett; brothers and sisters-in-law John and Evelana Turner of Cumming and Jack and Charlene Turner of Cumming; sisters and brothers-in-law Sue and Jacky Heard of Ellijay, Lana and Jimmy Dean of Cumming, Ruby and Junior Roper of Cumming, Joann and Jimmy Wood of Cumming and Dolly and Ott Head of Cumming. Several other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Roper, Rev. Eddie Caine and Rev. David Skinner officiating. iIntermentwill follow in Friendship Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 until 9:00 pm and on Friday from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm.

Mr. Rollin Kirby Springer, age 86, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday, May 12, 2007.

Mr. Robert Daniel Pennza, age 62, of Cumming, GA passed away, Thursday, February 14, 2008.

Mr. Pennza was cremated and no memorial services are planned at this time.

Mr. Ralph William Moore
October 1, 1931 – March 24, 2008

Mr. Ralph William Moore, 76, of Dahlonega died Monday March 24, 2008 at his residence following a period of declining health.

Born in Polk County, Georgia and coming from Bartow County Mr. Moore lived in the Dahlonega and Dawsonville area for twenty years. He worked in the automotive industry and was retired from the General Motors assembly plant in Doraville, Georgia. Mr. Moore attended Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Church in Dawsonville. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his first wife Helen Moore.

Surviving are his wife Eunice Woody Moore, Dahlonega, sons and daughter in law Dennis and Delores Moore, Anderson, VA, Stanley Moore, Interlachen, FL, daughters and sons in law Marla and Jerry Ray, Dawsonville, Shirley and Ralph Chastain, Dahlonega, Janie and Roger Ingram, Dahlonega, Brothers Lewis Moore, Lindale, GA, James Moore, Alvin Moore and Calvin Moore, Rockmart, GA, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday March27, 2008 at 2:00 o’clock at the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jimmy Payne and Rev. Carrel Pruitt will officiate. iIntermentwill follow in the Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday March 26, 2008 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.

Malcolm S. Murray, Sr.

Mr. Malcolm S. Murray, Sr. was a trial attorney in the Atlanta area for 35 years. He practiced in Atlanta and Decatur and later in Cumming, Georgia. He was a defense lawyer for insurance companies and was highly regarded in his field. He was an immaculate dresser and enjoyed every minute of his profession.

He was born in Pinehurst, Georgia February 10, 1923, and lived there until the 4th grade and moved to Byromville, Georgia at age 10. He graduated from Byromville High School in Dooly County in 1940.

In 1943 to 1946 he served three years in the Army. After discharge he attended undergraduate at Mercer University and was a graduate from Walter F. George School of Law, Mercer University.

In January of 1952 he went to work for State Farm as a claims adjuster and advanced to Divisional Claims Manager. He worked for State Farm for twelve years and then went into private practice.

He served on the Marta Board for eight years, representing Dekalb County and was elected by the members of the Board as Vice Chairman of the Board.

He moved to Cumming, Georgia in 1992 and practiced law in Cumming until retirement in December, 1998.

He became a member of the Bar in 1952 and never had an unfounded complaint lodged with the Bar against him.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara F. Murray, Cumming, Georgia; two daughters, Pamela Murray, school teacher and her husband Richard Holmberg, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Rhonda Murray Mobley, psychologist and her husband William C. Mobley of Davenport, Iowa, and a son, Malcolm Stephen Murray, Jr., of Braselton, Georgia and three grandchildren, Melissa Murray-Hobbs, Michael Murray-Hobbs and Haley Holmberg. He is also survived by a step-daughter, Kellie Key and her husband Rob Key of Loganville, Georgia and a step-son Kevin Medcalf and his wife Rachel Medcalf of Aiken, S. C. and three step-grandchildren Nicholas Key, William Medcalf and Olivia Medcalf. He had four brothers, all of which preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bob Jolly and Rev. Willaim L. Lewis officiating. iIntermentwill follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 until 9:00 pm.
