Mr. Frank J. Surface, 80, of Albany died Tuesday Oct 4, 2011 at his residence. His funeral service will be held Friday 2:00PM at Liberty Parkway Church of God with interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Rev. Ralph Horne will be officiating. Born in Holdenville, OK, Mr. Surface had lived in Albany since 1970 after retiring from the United State Air Force. He also retired from the United States Post Office here in Albany.

Paul Edward Eames - October 3, 2011

Paul Eames, 84, of Albany, died Monday, October 3, 2011 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. His memorial service will be 2 PM FRIDAY, October 7, 2011 at Byne Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Eames's remains were cremated and his cremated remains will be buried at Crown Hill cemetery immediately following the memorial service. The Rev. Clay Bowden and the Rev. Matthew Nance will officiate. The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Home.

Jo Ann (Lowe) Pitts - October 1, 2011

Mrs. Jo Ann (Lowe) Pitts, 73, of Albany died Saturday Oct 1, 2011 at The Willson Hospice House. A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday 10:00AM at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Robert Chambless officiating. Born in Columbus, GA, Mrs. Pitts lived in Albany since 1958 where she retired from the Dougherty County School System. She graduated from Columbus High School and Georgia Southwestern College.

Thomas Stephen Smith, Jr. - September 30, 2011

Mr. Tom Smith, 64, of Lee County died Friday Sept 30, 2011 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held Sunday 3:00PM at Kimbrell-Stern. Rev. Stephen Pontzer will be officiating. Born in Cape Girardau Missouri, Mr. Smith lived in Albany most of his life where he retired from Proctor and Gamble after 25 years of service. He also retired from Civil Service from the Marine Corp. Logistics Base.

Thomas DeMarino - September 29, 2011

Thomas DeMarino, 84, of 1500 8th Ave. Albany died on Thursday September 29, 2011 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Mr. DeMarino service will be on Monday October 3 2011 at St. Teresa's Catholic Church at 10:00 AM with Rev. Finbarr Stanton officiating. iIntermentwill follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening October 2, 2011 at Kimbrell-Stern from 7-9 PM with a Prayer Service to begin at 7:30 PM.

Giuseppe Magaddino - September 29, 2011

Mr. Giuseppe Magaddino, 1610 Marbury Lane died Thursday, September 29, 2011. His funeral mass will be Monday 1 PM at St. Teresa's Catholic Church with entombment in Crown Hill Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Sunday 6 to 8 PM at Kimbrell-Stern. A native of Sicily, Italy, Mr. Magaddino had lived in Albany for the last 7 years moving from Nashville, TN. He was a retired parts manufacture and a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church.

Dorothy "Dot" Whelchel - September 28, 2011

Dorothy Johnston Whelchel, of Albany, died on Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at the Willson Hospice House. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 30, 2011, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. Biff Coker at Covenant Presbyterian Church on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at 11:00 AM. A private entombment will follow at Crown Hill Mausoleum.

Billy Wayne Harrell - February 9, 2012

Mr. Billy Wayne Harrell, 73, of 144 Kinchafoonee Dr. Leesburg, GA. died Thursday February 9, 2012 at his residence. Memorial service for Mr. Harrell will be on Monday February 13, 2012 from the Arlington City cemetery in Arlington, GA. Rev. Roy Carroll and Rev. David Harrell will be officiating. Mr. Harrell was born on November 20, 1938 in Calhoun County Georgia to the late Willie Edward and Naomi Sheffield Harrell.

Margaret "Peggy" Price - February 6, 2012

Mrs. Margaret "Peggy" Price, 85, of Leesburg died Monday Feb 6, 2012 at her residence. The funeral service will be held Wednesday 11:00AM at St. Teresa's Catholic Church with interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Rev. Finbarr Stanton will be officiating. Born in Long Branch, NJ where she was a Registered Nurse in New Jersey before moving to Leesburg in 1959. Mrs. Price worked at Gargano's East and was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church.

Herbert Hall - February 4, 2012

Herbert Hall, 69, of Doerun, Ga, died Saturday Feb. 4, 2012 at his residence. The remains have been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. A native and life long residence of Colquitt County, Mr. Hall was a beloved husband, father and friend. He was known as on of the best farmers in Colquitt County and could grow a crop when no one else could. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and could always tell a funny joke.

Helen Vrackas Katsekis - February 2, 2012

Mrs. Helen Vrackas Katsekis, 79, of Tampa, FL formerly of Albany died Thursday Feb 2, 2012 at South Tampa Health and Rehab. Funeral service will be held Monday 10:30AM at Kimbrell-Stern with interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Father Robert John O'Loughlin will be officiating. Born in Wauchula, FL, Mrs. Katsekis lived in Albany since 1952 where she retired from Woolworth's. She was a member of Holy Mother of God Orthodox Church.
