Gerald “Jake” Hester, age 73 of Monroe, died on Dec. 9, 2007. He was born in Walton County on Feb. 2, 1934 to the late George Robert Hester and the late Lucille Sorrells Hester. He was preceded in death by his daughter, the late Angie Hester. Surviving are: fiancé: Carol R. Ashford of Monroe; son: Greg Hester of East Pointe; daughter: Jerri Hester of Monroe; sisters: Azalee Lee Ruark of Bostwick and Jean Queen of Social Circle; Brother: Charles Hester of Monroe.

Mrs. Cora M. Malcom, age 74 of Monroe, GA died Dec. 6, 2007. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007 at 12 noon in Christ Temple Outreach Church, 216 Cherry Hill Road, Monroe, GA, Elder Mary Watson, Presiding; Rev. Charles Johnson, Eulogist. The Cortege will assemble at 10:45am at Jackson Funeral Home.

Emmett Cain Jr., age 85 of Monroe, died on Dec. 8, 2007. He was born in Gwinnett County on Aug. 10, 1922 to the late William Emmett Cain and the late Carrie Burell Cain. He also proudly served his county during World War II in the United States Coast Guard. Surviving are: wife: Evelyn Day Cain of Monroe; son: William Cain of Monroe; step son: Dennis Holbrook of Madison; sister: Mary Holly of Atlanta; two step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. A Graveside Service was held on Monday Dec. 10th at 11am at Westlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Blount officiating.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Ira Odell Calla- han; son, the late Eston Callahan; daughter, the late Elsie Davis.

Mark V. Bollnak, 77 of Loganville died November 24, 2007. An Iowa native, he was a retired plumber and had resided in Georgia most of his life. A member of the Plumber and Steamfitters Union # 72, he had served in the U.S. Army. Funeral services were held November 28, 2007 in the chapel of Arthur Bowick Funeral Home. Father Daniel Toof was the officiant and interment was in Barrow Memorial Gardens, Winder, GA. He is survived by sisters: Mary and William Dickman of New Windsor, NY; Catherine and Jimmy Wood of Nashville, TN; Gail and Flory Leo and Beatrice Dickman both of Des Moines, Iowa; brother: Dale and Gennie Bollnak of Searcy, AR; stepson: Danny Yearwood of Winder; special friend: Frances Mooney of Monroe; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters: Delores Lansing and Clementine Bollnak.

Morrtitt A. Adcock, 74 of Monroe died November 24, 2007. A native and life long resident of Walton County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Lilie Mae Knight Adcock. She was the widow of Otis W. Adcock who died in 1994. She was formerly employed by Phillips and Briscoe Drug and Carmichael Drugs and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Funeral services were held November 26, 2007 in Harmony Baptist Church. The Rev. Brant Callaway officiated and interment was in the church cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the late William Odell Edge and daughter, the late Janice Ellis. Surviving are daughters and son-in-law: Juanita and Terry Morris of Newnan and Quin Craven of Monroe; son and daughter-in-law: Avery and Gail Edge of Monroe; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren
