Mrs. Ronda Joyce Stone, 48,
of Maryville, Tenn., passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004 at University of Tennessee Hospital. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. today (Wednesday, Jan. 28), at Fairview United Methodist Church in Maryville, with Dr. Jerry Russell officiating. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at Burke Memorial Gardens in Waynesboro, with the Rev. Henry Erwin officiating

Mrs. Stone was an international flight attendant for Northwest Airlines and began her career with them in 1979. Her career included flying CRAF flights, transporting military troops overseas during the Gulf War. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and was a volunteer with the children’s ministries and continued influencing lives for Christ in youth ministries. Mrs. Stone was an avid volunteer with Maryville City Schools.

Survivors include her husband of 18 years, David Stone of Maryville; a daughter, Laura Beth Stone of Maryville; parents, Earl and Deloris Wills of Hutchinson, Minn.; and two sisters, Earline Van Hove of Willmar, Minn. and Nancy Poladian of Indianapolis, Ind.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts to be made to Fairview United Methodist Church, Youth Ministries, 2508 Old Niles Ferry Road, Maryville, Tenn. 37803.

Mrs. Lessie Keen Revels, age 96,

entered into rest on Friday, Jan. 16, 2004 at Doctors Hospital in Perry, Fla.
Funeral services were held at New Hope Baptist Church in Mayo, Fla., on Sunday, Jan. 18., with Pastors Charlie Walker, Clarence Parker and T.J. Santerfeit officiating. A eulogy was give by her grandson, Jackson E. Cox. Mrs. Revels was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Decatur Revels Sr.; and a grandson, Frank Leon Sampsell.

Survivors include six children, L.D. Revels Jr. and James Douglas Revels of Mayo, Lavern Sampsell of Melrose, Fla., Annie Lou Kirkland of McClenny, Fla., Kenneth Wayne Revels of Ft. White, Fla. and Nell Cox of Waynesboro; a sister, Irene Priddy of Richmond, Va.; and 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Dean Revels, Travis Revels, Greg Revels, Stephen Revels, Kent Kirkland, Bruce Kirkland, Sid E. Cox, Jackson E. Cox, Larry Sampsell, Tim Walker and Rodney Page. Memorials may be sent to New Hope Baptist Church, Box 1266, Mayo, Fla. 32066.

Mrs. Carrie P. Clark died on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004,
at her residence in Memphis, Tenn. Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 4), at Fellowship United Baptist Church, Memphis, with the Rev. Lawrence E. Barksdale officiating A native of Burke County, she was a 1965 graduate of Waynesboro High and Industrial School in Waynesboro.

She was a member of McKinnie Branch Baptist Church. Mrs. Clark was born to the late John and Florence Proctor of Burke County. Survivors include her husband, Larry Clark Sr. of Memphis; four daughters, Phylicia, Lindsay, Valerie and Angela, all of Memphis; a son, Larry Clark Jr. of Memphis; a grandson, Larry Clark III of Memphis; four sisters, Effie, Mary, Jacqueline and Florence; three brothers, William, Clarence and Henry; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. M.J. Edwards Funeral Home, 5494 Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tenn., was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Ornan Luther Huber, 81, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004,
at his home at the Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community. Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Pike Mennonite Church, with Howard Brubaker, James Goering, Elam Heatwole, Nathan Horst and Jay Rohrer conducting the service. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Huber was born on April 10, 1922 in Riley Alberta, Canada and was the son of the late Joseph E. and Emma Burkholder Huber. At age 7 he moved with his family to Ohio. In 1941, he moved to Virginia where he worked as a farmer and carpenter. He then lived in Hickory, N.C., Sarasota, Fla. and Waynesboro, Ga., where he was active in church - mission work and carpentry. After retiring, he returned to Harrisonburg in 1999. He was a member of the Peake Mennonite Church. On Nov. 24, 1949, he married the former Naomi Driver.

Survivors include his wife, Naomi Driver; three daughters, Esther Eshelman of Stuarts Draft, Va., Janet Hartzler of Dublin and Norma Jean Rolin of Atmore, Ala.; one son, Virgil Huber of Augusta; two brothers, Aaron Huber of Waynesboro, Va. and Daniel Huber of Harrisonburg; and 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community Compassion Fund, 1501 Virginia Ave., Harrisonburg, Va. 22802.
McMullen Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Mary Parr Jackson entered into rest Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004,
at her residence. A memorial service was held Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Rosemont Heights Baptist Church, with the Rev. Keith Alderman and Dr. Al Wright officiating.
Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Rosemont Heights Baptist Church and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion and VFW and the Eagles Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Jackson, in July 2003.

Survivors include two daughters, Lorretta Lynn Stembridge of Waynesboro and Bridgette Renee Manca of West Caldwell, N.J.; a son, Michael Joseph Manca Jr. of Idaho; mother, Margaret Totten of Detroit, Mich.; and a brother, Rick Parr of Detroit.

Mrs. Sarah McKinney Quick,
of 101 Mills Road, Waynesboro, entered into rest at her residence Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004. Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, at Burke Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Wayne Dixon officiating. Mrs. Quick lived most of her life in Burke County as a homemaker. She was Baptist. Mrs. Quick was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert T. Quick; and two sons, Mike Quick and Keith Quick.
Survivors include a son, James H. Quick of San Mateo, Fla.; a brother, Claude Mc-Kinney of Millen; two sisters, Mary Lee Seymour of Waynesboro and Velmaree Baker of Dunedin, Fla.; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers were David Kitchens, Craig Perryman, Shannon Burke, Marty Thompson, David Bowles and Curt St. Germaine.

Mr. Willard Leon Ashby, 72,
of 1103 McManus Road, Hephzibah, entered into rest on Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at Burke Medical Center. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at DeLoach-Kennedy Hephzibah Chapel, with the Rev. David King officiating. Interment followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park with full military honors accorded.

Mr. Ashby was a native of Martinsville, Va., but had lived in the Burke and Richmond County area since 1978. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, who had served as Color Guard at the White House and Arlington National Cemetery under Presidents Truman and Eisenhower. He was a member of Amvets Club Post #0005 and the National Riflemans Association.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Arrington Ashby of Hephzibah; two sons, Matthew Ashby of Hilo, Hawaii and John Lee Ashby of Hephzibah; two stepsons, Andy May and Daniel May; a brother, Jack Ashby of Florida; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ms. Bobbie D. Barefield, 27,
of Sardis, entered into rest Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at the Burke Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 12, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, with the Rev. Frank Waites officiating. Interment will follow at the Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery. Ms. Barefield will lie in state one hour before the service.

Ms. Barefield was preceded in death by her father, James E. Barefield. She is survived by her two daughters, Kelsey Rae and Mackenzie Jade Barefield of Sardis; her mother, Bobbie Jean Barefield of Sardis; and three brothers, Adolphus Morris and Mims Morris of Sardis and Toby Morris of Perkins. Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
Family will receive friends Wednesday evening, Feb. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel, Waynesboro.

Mrs. Virginia Wilson Rowland, 78,
wife of the late Mr. T.R. (Buddy) Rowland, entered into rest Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at Brentwood Terrace in Waynesboro. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 25), at the Bethel ARP Church in Vidette, with Dr. Roy Beckham officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Dhu Cemetery.

Mrs. Rowland was a homemaker and native of Doraville, Ga., and spent most of her adult life in Vidette. She was a member of the Bethel Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church of Vidette. She was a charter member of White Columns Woman’s Club, Waynesboro Ladies Shrine Auxiliary and the Sarah Pressley Missionary Circle.
Survivors include one son, Tommy Rowland of Vidette; two daughters, Susan R. Coursey of Waynesboro and Pat R. Smith of Hephzibah; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Jimmy Alexander, Lloyd Martin, J.S. Thomas, Bill Stallsmith, Dr. B. Lamar Murray, James Hol-lingsworth, Manton Horton Jr. and Frank Agerton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel ARP Church, 7256 Highway 24, West, Louisville, Ga. 30434.
