Virginia Lee
Mrs. Virginia Lee, age 79 of Jasper, passed away Oct. 9, 2002 at Wildwood Nursing Home.
Survivors include two sons, William K. Lee, Florida, and Robert Lee, Jasper; one daughter, Phyllis Sanford, Canton; two brothers, Joe Poole, Michigan, and Jim Poole, Florida; two sisters, Lola Gaddis and Ruby Stanfield, both of Jasper. Five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held Friday, Oct. 11 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Brock officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Richard and Marty Gaddis, Jason Teague, Jackie Blackwell, Tim Westbrook and Fred Medlin.

Lola Gaddis
Mrs. Lola P. Gaddis, age 92 of Jasper, passed away Saturday, Nov. 12,
2005 at Grandview Health Care Center.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Bobbie Gaddis
and Richard and Jackie Gaddis, all of Jasper; brothers, Jim Poole, Fort
Myers, Fl., and Joe Poole, Michigan; sister, Ruby Stanfield, Jasper;
grandchildren, Sharon Allday, Greg, Marty and Stacy Gaddis; and
great-grandchildren, Nathan, Weston, Lola and Chase Gaddis.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel
of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Von Hinton and Clyde Brock officiating.
Interment was in Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were:
Charles Wigington, Charles, Pat and Bob Stanfield, Buck Blackwell and Gary
Poole.

Lila Prince
Mrs. Lila Prince, age 64 of Jasper, passed away Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005 at
Northside Cherokee Hospital in Canton.
Survivors include her husband, James Prince, Jasper; sons and
daughter-in-law, Ricky and Elaine Mills, Canton, and Terry Mills, Jasper;
daughters and son-in-law, Louise and Carter Gayden, Talking, Deborah Prince
and Nancy Stokes, both of Jasper; brother, O’Neal Cornett, Canton; sister.
Sadie Smith, Canton. Seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also
survive.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel
of Cagle Funeral Home. Interment was in Lake Forest Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were: Josh and Jody Prince, Jackie, Ronnie, Jimmy and Danny
Blackwell and Gene and Jerry Smith.

Larry McArthur
Mr. Larry McArthur, age 61 of Talking Rock, passed away Saturday, Nov.
12, 2005 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley McArthur, Talking Rock; father,
Herbert McArthur, Eton, Ga.; father- and mother-in-law, Rev. Carl and Bertie
Owenby, Talking Rock; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Kelly McArthur,
Jasper; daughter, Crisanna McArthur, Jasper; brother, Kenneth McArthur,
Whitestone; brother-in-law, Larry Owenby, Mableton; grandchildren, Clay and
Lila McArthur. Nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. from Whitestone
Baptist Church with the Revs. Paul Richards, Joey Phillips and Steve O’Neal
officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Danny
Townsend, Richard, Earl and Tony Payne, Huey Padgett and Matthew Owenby.
Cagle Funeral Home in charge of arrangement.

Margaret Mullinax
Mrs. Margaret Rose Mullinax, age 45 of Jasper, passed away Nov. 12, 2005
at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny Mullinax, Jasper; mother, Hazel
Thurman, Jasper; daughters and son-in-law, Jennifer Mullinax, Jasper, and
Melissa and Chris Pittman, Ranger; and sister, Barbara Reynolds, Elkhart,
In. She was preceded in death by her father, Bennie Rose, Sr.; and brother,
Bennie Rose, Jr.
The funeral service was held Monday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of
Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Jarvis and Dr. Ben Langley
officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Ronnie Cantrell, William Cruse, Stanley Wooten, Cannon
Rose, Wayne Eaton and Mitchell Richards.

Lenora Patterson
Mrs. Lenora Patterson, age 75 of Jasper, passed away Monday, Nov. 14,
2005 at Mountain Health Care Center in Jasper.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Curtis Roper,
Jasper; sisters, Inez Hales, Jasper, and Ada Mae Buttrum, Ludville;
sisters-in-law, Claramae Patterson and Mary Barrett; and grandchildren, Dawn
and Dustin Roper.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16 from Free Hope
Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Pearson officiating. Interment followed in
the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Ricky and Robby Hales, Shawn
Patterson, Larry and Andy Holden and Junior Ingram. Cagle Funeral Home in
charge of arrangements.

Pat Padgett
Mr. Pat Padgett, age 52 of Jasper, passed away Oct. 8, 2002 at his residence. He worked at the H.D. Lee Co. for 14 years. He also worked at Gold Kist for 12 years and was a member of Talona Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Padgett, Jasper; mother, Lora Padgett of Jasper; two sons and daughters-in-law, William (Doug) and Amy Padgett and Rex and Joyce Langley, all of Jasper; five daughters and sons-in-law, Edieand Melissa Padgett and Lori and Mike Rezutko, all of Jasper, Darleen and Gerry Pawlicki, Woodstock, and Terrie and Randall Jordan, Ball Ground; two brothers and sister-in-law, Charles and Glenda Padgett and Raymond McDaniel, all of Ellijay; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Pam and Freddie Eller and Teresa and Charles Holcomb, all of Jasper. Eleven grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held Friday, Oct. 11 from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Jerry Hughes and Ardell McClure officiating. Interment was in Lake Forest Memorial Park. Pallbearers were: Glenn Hawkins, Rex Langley, Mike Rezutko, Freddie Eller, Larry McArthur and Randall Jordan. The family accepted flowers or donations may be made to the Talona Baptist Church.

Mary Beasley
Mrs. Mary Dean Beasley, age 52 of Jasper, passed away Oct. 10, 2002 at Mountainside Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Quinton Beasley of Jasper; one son, Timothy Farmer of Marble Hill; one step-son, Nathan Beasley, Jasper; three daughters, Deliah Anderson, Douglasville, Tanya Loudermilk, Felton, and Bonnie Winkles, Villa Rica; one step-daughter, Heather Beasley, Jasper; two brothers, Thomas Crawford, Waycross, and Billy Crawford, Cedartown; two sisters, Mae Darby, Cartersville, and Helen Clark, Canton. Nineteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held Sunday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Cloer officiating. Interment was in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were: Steve and Terry Crawford, Garry Able, Grady Clark, Dean Beasley and Kevin Axe.

Maranda Childers
Infant Maranda Childers, 1 day old, passed away Oct. 8, 2002 at Northside-Cherokee Hospital in Canton.
Survivors are her parents, Tony and Bobbie Jo Childers of Hinton; grandparents, Billy and Jewell Childersand Matt and Mary Ann Childers, all of Hinton; one sister, Savannah Dean, Hinton.
The funeral service was held Thursday, Oct. 10 at 5 p.m. from the Hinton United Methodist Church. Interment was in the Hinton Cemetery. Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Taylor Buttrum
Infant Taylor Buttrum, 5 weeks old, passed away Oct. 8, 2002 at Mountainside Medical Center.
Survivors include her parents, Bobby Buttrum and Miranda Childers, Jasper; grandparents, Phil and Patricia Childers and Carrie Buttrum, all of Jasper, and Wanda and Tony Pack, Fairmount; great-grandparents, Mae Buttrum, Ranger, Pearl Childers, Jasper, and Myrtice Swafford, Calhoun.
A graveside service was held Thursday at 2 p.m. from Ludville Church of Jesus Christ with the Rev. Herman Mulkey officiating. Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Loel Cook
Mr. Loel Cook, age 59 of Marble Hill, passed away suddenly Oct. 11, 2002 in Tennessee.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Cook, Marble Hill; one son and daughter-in-law, Ramon and Juanita Cook, Jasper; two brothers, Wesley Cook of Jasper and Bobby Cook of Ellijay; one sister, Colleen Wofford; and one grandchild, Kaitlyn Cook of Jasper.
The funeral service was held Monday, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Harold Bottoms and Phillip Burt officiating. Interment was in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers were: Jackie Goss, Anthony Cook, Randy Walker, Greg Alfred, Eric Ledford and Kenny Herndon.

Kathleen Scanlan
Mrs. Kathleen S. Scanlan, age 60 of Canton, passed away Monday morning, Oct. 7, 2002 at her residence after battling a serious illness. She was a native of Baton Rouge, La. and had resided in Canton for 10 years.
Surviving are a sister, Janell Scanlan Fleming, Tylertown, Miss.; brothers, Stanley and George Scanlan, both of Canton; daughter, Sharon Roy, Cherry Log; sons, Perry Mason, Woodstock, and Kenneth Manning, Baton Rouge. Five grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Aucoin, and her parents, Stanley Scanlan and Yvonne Aucoin.
The funeral service was held Thursday, Oct. 10 from Roselawn Cemetery in Baton Rouge. Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Maumie Cowart
Maumie Burgess Cowart, age 84 of Canton, passed away at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital Oct. 12, 2002.

Survivors include daughters, Dorothy Crowe, Canton, and Thelma J. Prince, Woodstock; and sister, Bessie Prather, Jasper. Two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14 from Huey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Groover Thraser officiating. Interment was in Macedonia Memorial Park. Huey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Barclay White
Barclay Thomas White, age 20 of Ball Ground, passed away at Grady Memorial Hospital Oct. 12, 2002. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ida Bryant.
Survivors include his parents, Dr. William C. and Ollie White, Ball Ground; grandparents, Herb and Loretta White, Jasper; brothers, Chad White, Canton, and Jason White, Newnan; sisters, Tiffany White, Canton.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, Oct. 16 from Canton First Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Parnell, Brian Ergle and Mr. Marcus Fox officiating. Interment was in Cherokee Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Barclay White Memorial Fund, 1962 Howell Bridge Rd., Ball Ground, Ga. 30107. Huey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Gennie Walraven
Mrs. Gennie Lee Walraven, age 77 of Ranger, passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2002 at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Walraven was born August 16, 1925 in Gordon County, Ga., daughter of E.L. and Mandania Harris Crider. She was a lifelong resident of the Ranger Community and was a retired employee of Lacey Mills. Mrs. Walraven was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton, in 1998, to whom she was married for 50 years; by a son, Steve Walraven in 2001; four brothers, Delmar, Grady, Jack and Fellon Crider; and by four sisters, Ada Crider, Stella Oliver, Ruby Thacker and Gertrude Akins. Mrs. Walraven served her Lord through her musical talents. Through the years she sang and served as pianist in a variety of groups with family and friends throughout North Georgia. For a number of years she ministered through music at local nursing homes. She was a member of Ludville Church of God and the Ranger Prayer Band.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Jimmy Johns and Melissa and Russell Patterson, all of Ranger; son, David Walraven of Ranger; daughter-in-law, Becky Walraven of Cartersville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ellen Crider, Myrtle Plott, Bertha Holcomb, Bill Walraven, Otto and Dorothy Walraven; grandchildren, Jason Johns and Jennifer Johns Adcock, Joseph Walraven, Oakley Walraven and Trey Nunn.
The funeral service was held Sunday, Oct. 13 at 4 p.m. from Craneater Church of God with the Revs. Daron Henson and Chris Taylor officiating. Singing was arranged by Valerie Taylor, Leah Roach and Richie Parker. Interment was in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers were: grandsons, nephews, Jason Johns, Joseph and Oakley Walraven, Trey Nunn, Carl Adcock, Harlan Thacker, Phillip Oliver and Frank Crider. Honorary pallbearers were: Ronnie Patterson, Joyce Franklin, nephews and members of Ludville Church of God. Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Frances Osting
Mrs. Frances D. Osting, age 51 of Ohio, formerly of Nelson, Ga., passed away Oct. 6, 2002 at the St. Rita’s Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband, Arnold Osting, Delphos, Oh.; son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Peggy Roland, Jasper; daughters and son-in-law, Denise Cruikshank, Canton, and Susan and Scott Lawson, Ellijay; four sisters, Barbara, Ann, Glenda and Elizabeth “Sadie;” three step-brothers, Tony, Steve and Timothy Roland. Five grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survives.
Harter and Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Loyd Hulsey
Mr. Loyd (Boot) Hulsey, age 73 of Jasper, passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2002 at his residence.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Sharon Hulsey, Talking Rock; two daughters and son-in-law, Jeanette Lee and Betty and Guy Mullins, all of Jasper; one sister, Verdell Garmon, Atlanta. Four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 from Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Max West officiating. Interment followed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Jasper. Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

W.C. Childers
Mr. W.C. Childers, age 61 of Canton, Ga., passed away Dec. 25, 2002 at Northside Hospital-Cherokee.
Survivors include his spouse, Nell Childers of Canton; sons, Jeff Childers of Houston, Ga., Glenn and Matthew Childers, both of Canton; daughters, Linda Phillips and Donna Bryant, both of Canton; brothers, James Childers, Boaz, Al., and Billy Childers, Henton, Ga.; sisters, Hazel Timms, Waleska, Jeanette Boling, Red Bud, Judy Lowery and Faye Pendley, both of Jasper, and Sue Guger, Flat Rock, Al. Seven grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held Saturday, Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. from Huey Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Leon Pettitt and James McGaha officiating. Interment was in Jerusalem Baptist Church.

Charles E. Brooks
Mr. Charles E. Brooks, age 62 of Jasper, passed away at his residence Dec. 24, 2002.
Survivors are his wife, Elaine Brooks; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Jenny Brooks, Ball Ground; daughter, Julie Ann Brooks, Jasper; one sister and brother-in-law, Claudell and Neal Mckenzie, Jasper; three grandchildren, Anabel, Wyatt and Emma Brooks. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held Friday, Dec. 27 at 11 a.m. from Philadelphia Baptist Church with the Revs. Joey DuBoise, Lamar Frady and Moss Fountain officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Jack Snell, Mark Whitfield, Harry and Earl Brooks, Tommy O’Shields and Phil Landrum Jr. The family accepted flowers or donations to Georgia Mountain Hospice, 70 Caring Way, Jasper, Ga. 30143. Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Pearl Hicks
Mrs. Pearl R. Lowry Hicks, age 86 of Jasper, passed away Dec. 18, 2002 at Mountainside Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Roy (Pick) Hicks, Jasper; two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Elise Hicks, Austell, and Roy E. (Buddy) and Loretta Hicks, Jasper; sister, Jewell Argo, Ellijay. Six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Dec. 20 from Jasper First Baptist Church with Dr. Charlie Boggan and the Rev. Charles O. Walker officiating. Interment was in Southview Cemetery in Canton. Pallbearers were: Stanley McIntyre, Mark Hunter, Jay Caver, Danny Crowe, Michael Hicks and Bobby Cain. Honorary pallbearers were great-grandsons: Daniel and Christopher McIntyre and Samuel Davis. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Jasper First Baptist Church Building Fund. Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Virginia Rampley
Mrs. Virginia Rampley, age 57 of Ranger, passed away at her residence Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Rampley, Ranger; mother, Arwell Mulkey, Ranger; three sons, Jimmy Rumple, Talking Rock, Ronnie Rampley, Ranger, and David Rampley, Chatsworth; two daughters, Gina Cornett, Ranger, and Crickett Brown, Fairmount; two brothers, Norman Mulkey, Jasper, and Herman Mulkey, Fairmount; one sister, Charlene Rampley, Ranger. Nine grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held Sunday, Dec. 22 from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Nelson officiating. Interment was in Mountain Graveyard. Pallbearers were: Wyatt, Jason and Kevin Rampley, Roger and Tom Mulkey, Dobi Childers, Jeremiah Stone and William Hales. Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
