Alisa Wigington
Alisa “Lisa” Annette Wigington, age 50 of Jasper, passed away Friday, May
12, 2006.
Born March 28, 1956 in Cobb County, Ga., Lisa was a Georgia resident all
of her life. She was of the Baptist faith, being a member of Mount Arbor
Baptist Church. She received a degree as an interior decorator. She was a
loving wife and her husband’s best friend.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Wigington, Jasper; son, Gary
Wigington, Jr., Marietta; parents, Lorane and Bonnie Pope, Marietta;
brothers, Randy Pope, Spring Hill, Tn., Anthony Pope, Kennesaw, and Michael
Pope, Villa Rica. One granddaughter, Taylor Wigington of Marietta, and
several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, May 17 at 2 p.m. from
Medford-Peden Funeral Home in Marietta. Flowers were accepted, but donations
may be made to the Lung Cancer Alliance, 888 16th St. NW, Ste. 800,
Washington, DC 20006.

Oscar Hallman
Mr. Oscar Leroy Hallman of Resaca passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at
Gordon Hospital. He was 71 years old.
Mr. Hallman was born in Pisgah, Al. on Oct. 20, 1934. He was the son of
the late Tilton Roscoe and Zora T. Johnson Hallman. He was a veteran of the
US Army and had retired as a machinist from World Carpet. Mr. Hallman was an
avid fisherman and a lover of the outdoors.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Kenny Howard,
Dalton; sons and daughter-in-law, Keith and Connie Hallman, Jasper, and
Kevin Hallman and his fiancee Sherrie Moss, Resaca; their mother, Hazel
Hallman; his fiancee, Lorraine Craig, Calhoun; grandchildren, Derek and
Darren Howard, Keena and Kinley Hallman, Kelly Burnette, Ashley Warren,
Nicole and Adam Hall and Chris McCoy; great-grandchildren, Alexander Wesley
Howard and Triston William Warren; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and
Linda Hallman, North Carolina; sister, Jean Disentes, Resaca. Other
relatives and close friends also survive.
The funeral service was held Thursday, May 18 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel
of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Mitchell Crowe
officiating. Burial followed at Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were:
Darren and Derek Howard, Keith Hallman, Mike Benton, Steve Williams and Adam
Hall. Honorary pallbearers were: Kevin and Dennis Hallman and Kenny Howard.

Michael Little
Mr. Michael “Tonto” Little, age 49 of Morganton, Ga., passed away Monday,
May 15, 2006 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.
Michael was born Tuesday, June 5, 1956 in Elyria, Oh. He was employed by
the Jasper Police Department and had been in law enforcement for 16 years.
Michael loved his family very much. He was so excited because he was
looking forward to his first grandchild and his youngest was heading off to
college. He was very proud. He was also proud to serve with his Law
Enforcement Brothers and it didn’t matter what uniform he was wearing. He
was very loyal to his job and made many friends along the way.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Sandra Ann Little of Morganton,
Ga.; father, James Ernest Little of Wellington, Oh.; mother, Lola Watson
Little of Wellington; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Brandon Truett of
Morganton; daughter, Michelle Nichole Little of Morganton; sister, Shirley
Little of Lorain, Oh; brother and wife, James and Melody Little of Elyria;
brother, John Little of Morganton; sister and husband, Karen and James
Widdowson of Wakeman, Oh. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held Thursday, May 18 at 2 p.m. from the
Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Brother Roger Hyatt officiating. Serving
as pallbearers were Chief Harold Cantrell, Cliff Fisher, Jeremiah Chapman,
Greg Lovell, Eddie Gilmore, Kevin Mize, George Ensley and Todd Pack.
Honorary pallbearers were all his law enforcement brothers. Interment
followed in Chastain Memorial Park.

Annette Emory
Infant Annette Renee Emory of Talking Rock passed at Northside Hospital
Thursday morning, May 18, 2006.
Survivors include her parents, Roger and Tammy Emory, Talking Rock;
grandparents, Jack and Frances Emory, Talking Rock; sisters, Lora Free,
Betty, Cathy and Cynthia Emory, all of Talking Rock.
A graveside service was held Friday, May 19 at 2 p.m. from Philadelphia
Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Carl Owenby officiating. Cagle Funeral
Home in charge of arrangements.

Garret Buck
Mr. Garret W. Buck, age 83 of Jasper, passed away early Friday evening,
May 19, 2006 at the Woodstock Nursing & Rehab Center in Woodstock, Ga.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Garry and Lorraine Buck,
Tucson, Az., brother and sister-in-law, Neafie and Bonnie Buck, Hicksville,
Long Island, N.Y.; sister and brother-in-law, Etta and Bud Cramer, Jasper;
grandsons, Aaron and Alex Kyes; and a great-granddaughter, Danielle Kyes. A
number of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews also survive.
Interment was in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga. under the
direction of Cagle Funeral Home.

Jay Woodall
Mr. Jay Lewis Woodall, age 42 of Jasper, passed away Tuesday, May 23,
2006 at his residence.
Survivors include his parents, Jerry and Patsy Woodall; sons, Dustin and
Dylan Woodall; brother, Woody Woodall; and sister, Lori Holbert.
The funeral service was held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 25 from the Chapel
of Roper Funeral Home with the Revs. Edwin Weaver, Grant Wade and Robert
Allen officiating. The family requests donations be made to the Dustin and
Dylan Woodall Fund at Jasper Banking Company or to the American Cancer
Society.

Willie Dooley
Ms. Willie Sue Mills Dooley, age 74 of Jasper, Ga., passed away Thursday,
May 25, 2006 at her residence.
Survivors include her sons, James G. and David R. Dooley; brother, Bud
Mills; and two sisters, Jean McArthur and Betty Allgood. Five grandchildren
also survive.
The body was cremated and a graveside service was held Saturday, May 27
at 11 a.m. from Lake Forest Memorial Park. Roper Funeral Home was in charge
of arrangements.

Fred Thomason
Mr. Fred Thomason, age 72 of the Hinton Community, passed away Thursday,
May 25, 2006 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Thomason; mother, Jewell Thomason;
son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Fred and Patti Thomason of Jasper;
daughters and sons-in-law, Fred and Janet Marie Thomason Allen and Bryan and
Judy Thomason Pinson; two sisters, Betty and Emory Stewart and Shelby
Duncan; and grandchildren, Samantha LeeAnn Pinson, Leeanna Marie Allen,
Sarah Elizabeth Pinson, Emily Margaret Allen and Thomas Brian Pinson.
The funeral service was held at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 28 from Jasper First
Baptist Church with the body lying in state from 3 p.m. until the funeral
hour. Dr. Don Parker and Revs. Charles O. Walker and Von Hinton officiated
with interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Jasper. In lieu of flowers,
make contributions to Jasper First Baptist Church Building Fund. Roper
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Charles Andrews
Mr. Charles Allen Andrews, age 53 of Talking Rock, Ga., formerly of
Cartersville, Ga., passed away Monday, May 22, 2006 at Wellstar Kennestone
Hospital in Marietta.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Andrews; son, Michael Andrews; and a
brother, Danny Andrews.
A memorial service was held Saturday, May 27 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of
Roper Funeral Home.

Charles Crump
Mr. Charles Crump, 61, of Talking Rock passed away Friday, May 26th, 2006 at
Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper. The body remained at Cagle Funeral
Home. Funeral services were held Sunday, May 28th at 2:30 p.m. from the
chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Banks officiating. Interment
was in the Pleasant Grove Ryo Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors are two sons: Michael Jones, Virginia; Jonathan Jones, Talking
Rock; three brothers: James Crump, Ellijay; Tommy Crump, Ellijay; and Bobby
Crump, Jasper; One sister, Dorothy Mae Kincaid, Ellijay, and two
grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were: Harold Crump, Jimmy Crump, Eddie Crump,
Darrell Crump, Jerry Crump and Chris Couch.
Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Betty Jo Carver
Mrs. Betty Jo Carver, 74, of Jasper passed away early Wednesday morning
May 24, 2006 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
Survivors are a son, Ed Carver, Jasper and two grandchildren. Cagle
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

William T. Mullinax
Mr. William T. Bill Mullinax, 74, of Jasper passed away at his residence
early Thursday morning May 25, 2006.
Services were held Saturday, May 27th at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Cagle
Funeral Home. Revs. Charles O. Walker and Clyde Brock officiating. Interment
followed in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were: Jack E. Carney, JT Bozeman, Jacob Bozeman,
Tony Mullinax, Allan Padgett and Bill Pickett.
Surviving are a sister, Eva Carney, Douglasville; nieces and nephews: Mr.
and Mrs. Tony Mullinax, Jasper; Mr. Gregg Mullinax, Rockmart; Mr. and Mrs.
Woodrow Worley, Ellijay; Jack E. Carney, Richmond Hill, Ga.; Ms. Joyce
Boyette, Douglasville; Mr. and Mrs. Dan Ogle, Woodstock; Mr. and Mrs. Kirk
Anderson, Buford. Several great nieces and nephews also survive.
Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Richard Etherton
Mr. Richard E. Etherton, 82, of Woodstock passed away Thursday, May 25th,
2006 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. The body remained at Cagle Funeral
Home. Funeral services were held Sunday, My 25th at 12:00 noon from the
Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Quiles officiating. Interment
was in Sunrise Memorial Gardens with the Local Chapter #47 DAV in charge of
the graveside services.
Survivors are one son, Terry Etherton, Arizona; three daughters: Becky
Mahon, Roswell; Debbie Dodd, Kennesaw; Tiss Travis, Canton. Eleven
grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren also survive.
Serving as pallbearers were: Terry Etherton, Randy Mahon, Lewie Dodd,
Dick Travis, Scott Cudabac, Wayne Collis, David Loader and Scott McNeal.
Honorary pallbearers were: Steve South and Lance Etherton.
Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

William Castle
Mr. William Thomas Castle, 67, of Jasper passed away Friday, May 26, 2006
at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 28, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from the
graveside at Lake Forest Memorial Park on Camp Road in Jasper. Rev. Jack
Reagan officiating.
Mr. Castle is survived by his wife, Opal Castle; Four sons: John David
Castle, William Paul Castle, Gary Lee Castle and Ricky Lane Castle; a
daughter, Tina Louise Mercer. Brothers and sisters, Ernist Castle, ruth
Falour, Pauline Willaby and Mary Ann. Six grandchildren also survive.
Roper Funeral Home of Jasper was in charge of funeral arrangements.

J.B. Green
J.B. (Jasper Buford) Green, formerly of Tate, passed away May 10, 2006 in
Discovery Bay, California. He was born in Tate on November 12, 1924.
J.B. was the son of Buford Lewis and Jewell Eubanks Green. He was the
brother of Ralph Green and Lillian Wood, who both preceded him in death. He
graduated from Pickens High School in 1942. While there he participated in
basketball and school plays. He had the nickname of "Shiner." During high
school he served as a page in the Georgia State Senate.
After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy and was an airman
on air transports making many trips during W.W.II overseas and receiving a
commendation for this effort.
He met his wife Jean Dale Cossey in California where they were married
six weeks later. They were married over 50 years until her death in 1995.
They had two daughters Linda Green Connelly who died in 1978 at the age of
33 and Teresa Green Palous who resides in California with her husband Bob
and son Casey. J.B. also has a granddaughter, the daughter of Linda, who
presently resides in Texas.
J.B. was an operations supervisor with a public utility until his
retirement in 1983. He resided in Discovery Bay for 22 years. He was very
proud of his history and being from Georgia but also loved California. He
has many aunts, uncles and cousins on both the Green and Eubanks sides
residing in Georgia and with whom he kept in close contact with.
His service was held in Lafayette, California on May 16, 2006. The
family requests that any donations be made to the American Diabetes
Association in his memory.

Hugh Mullins
Mr. Hugh Edward Mullins, age 63 of Jasper, passed away Wednesday, May
25, 2005 at his residence.
Mr. Mullins is survived by his wife, Jackie Mullins of the home;
daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Terry Ellis; sister and brother-in-law,
Joyce and Luther McConnell; grandchildren, Deana and Jody Sutton and Dylan
Ellis; and one great-grandchild, Mia Sutton.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 27 from County Line
Baptist Church with the body to lie in state from 1 p.m. until the funeral
hour. The Rev. Jerry Banks officiating with interment in the church
cemetery. Roper Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
