Hazel Timms
Mrs. Hazel Childers Timms, age 59 of Waleska, passed away May 25, 2003. She was a Wal-Mart employee and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her sons, Alan and Jerry Timms, both of Waleska, and Gary Timms of Acworth; daughters, Lesia Higgins of Canton and Helen Goodwin of Ball Ground; brothers, Billy Childers of Hinton and James Childers of Boaz, Al.; sisters, Judy Lowry and Faye Pendley, both of Talking Rock, Sue Guger of Higdon, Al., and Jeanette Boling of Calhoun. Five grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, May 27 at 4 p.m. from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with the Revs. Bryan Goodwin, Jamie Powell and Jeff Wilkie officiating. Interment followed in the Hinton Community Cemetery.

Gilbert Jones
Mr. Gilbert Jones, age 59 of Adairsville, passed away suddenly Sunday, May 25, 2003 at Redmond Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Jones was born in Fulton County March 6, 1944, son of Coleman and Irene Duncan Jones. He was retired from Lockheed Marietta aircraft, a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Pickens County, treasurer of TAG Antique Engine Club and a director of Georgia Antique Club. He was a member and past master of Marble Hill Masonic Lodge #207 and a member of the Grand Lodge of Georgia.
Mr. Jones was a member in good standing of Pickens No. 28 of Grand Chapter of Georgia RAM; Appalachian Mountains Scottish Rite Association; Grand Council of Ga. R&AM Pickens No. 55; Knights Templar of Georgia Amicalola No. 41; Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, valley of Atlanta, orient of Georgia member of Yaarab Temple; and honorary member of Adairsville Lodge #168. A brother, Johnny Jones, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Morris Jones of Adairsville; sons, Jerry and Tony Jones, both of Pickens County; daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Joe Gaddis of Pickens County; stepsons and wives, Lee and Terri Mallett and Spence and Teresa Mallett, all of Adairsville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Anthony and Linda Jones and Toby and Susan Jones, all of Jasper. Seventeen grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held Wednesday morning at 11 from the Adairsville Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Hunt officiating. Following the service, the body was taken to Corinth Baptist Church in Pickens County for a 3 p.m. service with the Revs. Huey Hollaway and John Padgett officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Masonic grave rites. Pallbearers were: Phillip Cagle, Gene Reynolds, Larry McClain, Troy Morris, Fred Worley and Randy McClure. D. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home of Adairsville was in charge of the arrangements.

Kenneth Thurman
Mr. Kenneth G. Thurman, age 48 of Talking Rock, passed away May 31, 2003. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Thurman; brother, Junior Thurman; and sister, Ruth Ann Thurman.
Survivors include his father and step-mother, Wayne and Janie Thurman, Talking Rock; daughter and son-in-law, Kristina and Kevin Cook, Ranger; two grandchildren, Joseph and Kolbi Crook, Ranger; daughter, LaCrisha Thurman, Canton; brothers and sister-in-law, Richard Thurman and Jerry and Patsy Thurman, all of Ellijay. Several nieces, nephews and one great niece also survives.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, June 3 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Hollis Crook officiating. The family did accept rooted pots or wicker baskets, or donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Mrs. Jo Ann Tucker
Mrs. Jo Ann Tucker, age 65 of Acworth, Ga., passed away Sunday, June 8, 2003 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Vicky Tucker, Ball Ground; sister, Inez Sullins, Acworth; three grandchildren, Jeff, John and Mark Tucker; and one great-grandchild, Lexi Tucker.
The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 11 from Sharp Top Baptist Church with the Revs. Joey DuBois, Edwin Weaver and Thomas Wheeler officiating. Interment was in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Jasper. Pallbearers were: Dwight King, Marvin Duncan, Howard Wilson, Hilliard Ross, Jeffrey Smith and Bobby McFarland. Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Gerald Searles
Gerald S. Searles, age 78 of Talking Rock, passed away at his residence Saturday evening, June 7, 2003.
Survivors include his daughter, Robin Tundra, Talking Rock; and brother, Fred Searles, Cleveland, Oh.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 14 at the residence of Phil and Robin Tundra. Cagle Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Edna Dean
Mrs. Edna Dean, age 82 of Kennesaw, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2003 at Kennestone Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Hubert Dean, Kennesaw, son, Autry Dean, Talking Rock; and sister, Fannie Evans, Holly Springs. Three grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 10 from Free Hope Baptist Church with the Revs. Buck Parker and Talmadge Dean officiating. Interment followed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Jasper. The following served as pallbearers: Robert Dean, Terry Fountain, Arnold, Hoyle and Kenny Evans and Jack Elder. Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Randy Crowe Sr.
Mr. Randy Crowe Sr., age 61 of Talking Rock, passed away Saturday morning, June 7, 2003 at Augusta Medical in Augusta, Ga.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Crowe, Jasper; sons and daughters-in-law, Victor and Phillip, Lamar and Lara, Randy and Gina Crowe, all of Talking Rock; daughter, Lisa Crowe, Fairmount; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Sandra Crowe, Cisco, and Marky and Rachel Crowe, Chatsworth. Three grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held Monday, June 9 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Robert Crowe officiating. The ashes will be interred in Ryo Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date. Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Kathlyeen Mulkey
Mrs. Kathlyeen Mulkey, age 56 of Jasper, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2003 at her residence.
She is survived by a very special friend, Ken West, Jasper; son, Roger Mulkey, Ludville; granddaughter, Jessica Mulkey; three brothers, Fred Chastain, Calhoun, Leon Chastain, Nelson, and Billy Chastain, Jasper; three sisters, Joan Weaver, Jasper, Nora Chambers and Laverne Walker, both of the Hinton Community.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 9 from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Herman Mulkey officiating. Interment followed in the Bethel Christian Church Cemetery. The following served as pallbearers: Randy, Brian, Shawn, Victor and Timmy Chastain, Scotty Weaver and Mark Walker.

L.A. Jackson
Mr. L.A. Jackson, age 76 of Ellijay, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2003 at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Jackson, Ellijay; sons, Keith Jackson, Venice, Fl., Curtis and Mike Jackson, both of Ellijay; daughters, Nancy Lively, Alpharetta, Norma Ray, Freehome, and Loretta Chastain, Ellijay; brother, Vernon Jackson, Jasper; sister, Lorene Bennett, Talking Rock. Ten grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren also survive. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Jackson.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7 from Arbor Hill Baptist Church in Pickens County with the Rev. Wayne Long officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. The following served as pallbearers: Chad Ray, Jeff Lively, Mitchell, Ricky and Steven Jackson, Shayne Chastain and Gary Bennett. Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Thelma Hammontree
Mrs. Thelma Kuykendall Hammontree, age 82 of Jasper, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at Mountainside Health Care Center in Jasper.
Survivors include her son, Jimmie Lee HammontreeSr., Jasper; daughter, Bobbie Mosley, Jasper; four grandchildren, Ronda Mosley, Jimmie Lee Hammontree Jr., Ruthie Eppison and Jana Fountain; and one great-grandchild, Tate Hammontree.
The funeral service was held Friday, June 6 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles O. Walker officiating. Interment was in Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Kenneth Aaron, Larry Brady, Earl Garland, Johnny Stancil, Danny Mosley and Chris Howard.

Gaynelle Holland
Gaynelle T. Holland of Birmingham, Al, formerly of Marietta, died June 2, 2004 following a six month courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in 1925.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Holland; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Tatum, Jasper; sister and brother-in-law, Essie (Joe) Lipscomb, Cartersville; brother and sister-in-law, Tony (Frankie) Tatum, Jasper.
A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her son, Jon Holland, daughter-in-law, Kim, two grandchildren, Abbey and Darby, all of Trussville, Al.; sister and brother-in-law, Colleen T. (Warren G.) Cagle, Cartersville; nieces, Terrie C. O’Neal, Nancy C. Smith, Sandra T. Haisten and Cindy Tatum.
She was laid to rest beside her husband at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Marietta following a graveside service conducted by Dr. Bradley Brown at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 5. Mays Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Elmer Hogan
Mr. Elmer E. Hogan, age 58 of Jasper, formerly of Mineral Bluff, Ga., passed away Thursday, June 3, 2004 after a lengthy illness. He was a Vietnam veteran, former MO Clay County deputy and a retired Ga. DeKalb County Police detective.
He is survived by his wife, Karin; son, Randy; two brothers, Walter and Bernard; and a sister, Rosemary. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer F. and Mary Hogan; and a daughter, Allyson.
Services and interment were held June 14 in the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Memphis, Tn.

Clarence Hensley
Mr. Clarence Hensley, age 86 of Dahlonega, passed away at Gold City Convalescence Center on June 11, 2004. He was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church and a retired employee with Georgia Marble.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and Katherine Hensley, Dawsonville, James and Martha Hensley, Marble Hill, and Harold and Phyllis Hensley, Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Henry Green, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Chris and Tracy Hensley, Marble Hill, Peige and Kenneth Payne, Canton, Grecian and Mack Thacker, Jasper, April and Jimmy Samples, Kristina and Brian Hudson and Cody and Josh Thorton, all of Dawsonville; great-grandchildren, Zackery Thacker, Jasper, Heather Hensley, Marble Hill, Jared Payne, Canton, and Raven Samples, Dawsonville.
The funeral service was held Sunday, June 13 at 2 p.m. from Sosebee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lawton Burt officiating. Interment was in Sweetwater Cemetery.

Travis Reece

Mr. Travis Junior Reece, age 59 of Talking Rock, Ga., passed away on June 12, 2004 in the Mountainside Medical Center in Jasper. Mr. Reece was born in Gordon County to Sybil Tatum Reece and the late Price Junior Reece. He wasa skidder operator for the Reece Logging Company. He was preceded in death by onebrother, Mr. Carmen Reece.
Survivors include his wife, Onia Faye Towl Reece of the home; son, Lamar Reece of Talking Rock; daughters, Debra Graveley of Talking Rock and Tracie Kincaid of Nicholsville, Ga.; his mother, Sybil Tatum of Jasper; two brothers, Trammel and Richard Reece of Jasper; sister, Marcie Young of Jasper. Seven grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was conducted on Monday, June 14 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed O’Neal and Rev. Jerald Young officiating.Music was by the Macedonia Quartet. The following gentlemen were selected to serve as pallbearers: Keith Graveley, James Kincaid, Jeremy Young, Ronnie Reece, Randy Powell and Jessie Sutton. The employees of Reece Logging Company served as an honorary escort. Interment followed in the Zion Hill Cemetery.Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge in charge of the arrangements.

Doraine Murray
Mrs. Doraine Murray, age 61 of Jasper, passed away Friday, June 11, 2004 at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.
She is survived by her husband, Tim Murray, Jasper; daughter, Shawn Byrd; brothers, David Reckinger of Warren, Mi. and Dennis Reckinger of Florida; sister, Donna Mikolowski, Utica, Mi. Two grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Arvilla Reckinger; and one brother, Doug.
A memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 16 at the residence of Mike Filkins with the Rev. William Faucett and Alana Barnes officiating. The family prefers donations to the American Cancer Society for lung cancer. Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Daisy Rawls
Mrs. Daisy Annebelle Rawls, age 82 of Salacoa Highlands, Jasper, and Wayne City, Il., passed away Thursday morning, June 10, 2004 at the residence of her daughter.
Survivors include her sons, George (Bo) Rawls and wife Vera, Wayne City, and Rick Rawls and wife Marian, Bloominton, Ca.; daughters, Delores K. Barnes and husband Van, Jasper, and Barbara Bowers and husband William, McLeansboro, Il.; brothers, Dean Frazier, Mt. Vernon, Donald Frazier, Wayne City, and Eldoris Frazier, Hat, Ky.; sister, Nora Morian, Fairfield, Il. Nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Services were held Tuesday, June 15 at 11 a.m. from Olive Branch Baptist Church in Wayne City with the Rev. Richard McCormick officiating. Interment followed in Olive Branch Cemetery. Local services will be held Saturday, June 19 at 3 p.m. from the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Jasper with Pastor Dale McConnell officiating. The family asks that memorials be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 600 Burnt Mtn. Rd., Jasper, Ga. 30143. Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
