Mr. William 'Paul' Langford
Mr. William "Paul" Langford, 29, of Berry Avenue died on Friday at Newnan Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Zion Hill Baptist Church in Luthersville with Rev. Jemison, Rev. J.T. Coleman and Rev. Tilden Colton officiating. Burial will be in the Luthersville City Cemetery. Pallbearers and flower ladies will be cousins and friends. His remains will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until the funeral. The cortege will assemble at the residence at 1 p.m., according to Sellers-Smith Funeral Home.

He was born Nov. 30, 1972 in Newnan. He worked at Middlebrook Sand and Gravel Co. in Douglasville. He was described as a very loving and caring person who rendered his service with children by enteratining them with his hobbies of basketball and fishing. He shared his love of music with all of his friends.

He was preceded in death by his nephew Darrius Roldercius Langford.

Survivors include his wife, Charola Langford of Newnan; five children, Shae, Cordero, Breanna, Jamon, Daysia; mother and father, Curtis and Martha Langford; sisters, Sandra and Mary Ann Langford; brother, Curtis Lankford Jr.; father and mother-in-law, Charlie Frank and Willene Hines; grandmother-in laws, Mrs. Olivia Rosser and Mrs. Lucille Hines; great-grandmother, Mrs. Lena Bell Owens; special friends, Eric William, Stephanie Bennett, Leon Newsome and Donald Middlebrooks; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Mr. William Paul Langford, 29, of Berry Avenue, died Friday, June 7, 2002, at Newnan Hospital.

Mrs. Evelyn Smith Johnson
Mrs. Evelyn Smith Johnson of Newnan died Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at her residence on West Washington Street.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be Monday, June 10, 2002, at 3 p.m. from the New Macedonia Baptist Church in Madras, with Reverend Larry Barners and Reverend J.T. Coleman, Reverend J.W. Gibbons, Reverend Rufus Smith Sr., Reverend Willie L. Geter and evangelist Susie Hudson officiating.

Burial will be in the Forest Memorial Park cemetery in Newnan. The cortege will assemble on Monday at 1:45 p.m.

Mrs. Johnson was born to Joel and Mary Smith in Madras. She was the youngest of 11 children. She was baptized at the New Macedonia Baptist church in Madras, where she was a faithful and dedicated member until her death.

Evelyn married the late Theo Johnson and had one child, the late Daniel Thomas Johnson. She moved to Atlanta and worked at Rich's Department Store for 30-plus years. After retiring she relocated to Newnan. She used her time nurturing families and friends, serving her church with the love of God. She loved and cared for her nieces and nephews as if they were her own.

Survivors include two cousins, Margie Smith of Newnan and Fannie Briscoe of Los Angeles; three nieces, Mary Childers of Cleveland, Reverend and Mrs. Leman Jenkins of Los Angeles and Margaret Draggs of Detroit; two nephews, Wilson Horsley of Nashville and Howard Blount Sr. of Gastonia; one sister in-law, Mrs. Addie Fitch of Cleveland; great nieces and nephews, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Rowe of Tallahassee, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Rowe of Houston, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Davis of Los Angeles, Mr and Mrs. Hayward Alford of Newnan, Reverend and Mrs. Michael Khan of Los Angeles, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Alford of Atlanta, Mrs. Linda Hill of Newnan, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Walton of Seattle, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Blount Jr. of Gastonia, Mr. Michael Blount of Newport, Chantal Hathman of Los Angeles and Pamela Childers of Dallas; a host of great-great nieces and nephews; and one special friend, Isaiah P. Stephens.

Mr. Marshall Shirley
Mr. Marshall Shirley, of Newnan, died Wednesday, June 5, 2002, in LaGrange, Georgia.

The funeral service will be Monday, June 10, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Sellers-Smith R.W.S. Memorial Chapel, with Reverend W.J. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Eastview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 p.m. to 8p.m. On the day of the service, the cortege will assemble at 96 Pinson St. at 10 p.m.

Mr. Shirley was born Nov. 19, 1933, to the late Amos and Mattei Shirley of Newnan. He grew up on the east side of Newnan, where he attended Howard Warner High School on Savannah Street. He later joined the United States Air Force in 1951, where he served his country proudly for the next 10 years. He then returned to East Newnan where he was a clerk at Newell's Grocery Store. He was an active volunteer with the local USDA Community Action for Improvement Food Program, and a loyal friend to others in the community.

Survivors include a sister, Mary Reese of Newnan; one son, Jeffery and Bienvenida North of Lithonia; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Helen S. Gleaves
Mrs. Helen S. Gleaves, 94, of Sharpsburg, Ga., died Thursday, June 6, 2002 after a brief illness.

Mrs. Gleaves was born in Maury County, Tennessee in 1907. She was very active in the Grandview Church of Christ in Tennessee for more than 30 years where she was a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed cooking and delivering meals to shut-ins.

She moved to Sharpsburg, Ga. in 1997 to be closer to her son Ronald and his wife Linda Gleaves. While living in Sharpsburg she joined the Newnan Church of Christ. Her family will remember her as a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and her many friends. She was known for the beautiful quilts she made. She also enjoyed making hats and was a member of the Hat Club and the Home Demonstration Club.

Her parents, Herman and Dora Smith; a stepdaughter, Theda Haley; a brother, Roscoe Smith; and a sister, Gertrude Chumley preceded her in death.

She is survivied by her son, Ronald Cleaves and his wife Linda of Sharpsburg, Ga.; her brother Paul Smith and his wife Betty of Palmetto, Ga.; a sister Gladys Casey; three grandchildren, Tonya Nash, Tina McKay and Tori Barton and her husband David; two great-grandchildren, Kayla Barton and Chance Barton; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

The family received friends at Jones Funeral Home between 6 and 8 p.m. Friday, June 7, with the funeral service held immediately after the visitation at 8 p.m. in the Jones Funeral Home chapel.

A graveside service will be held Monday, June 10 at 11 a.m. Central Standard Time at Wood Lawn Memorial Park in Nashville, Tenn.

Mr. William Terrell "Joe" Hall, 71, of Stockbridge, Ga., died Sunday, June 2, 2002 at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Ga.

A funeral will be held Saturday, June 8, 2002 at 1 p.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Haralson, Ga. Rev. Johnny C. Stricklan, pastor, Elder B. L. Dotson, officiating, assisted by Elder D. Hardway and Minister Roderick McGruder. Burial in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers are James A. McCrary, Patrick McCrary, Arthur McCrary, Marcus McCrary, Harvey Hutchinson, Donald Hutchinson.

Flowr ladies are Lillian McCrary, Marsha Hall, Liza McCrary, Eric McCrary, Christina McCrary and Beverlyn T. Hall.

The family was receiving friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 7-8 p.m.

On the day of the service the cortege will assemble at 220 Grand Oaks Way in Stockbridge, Ga. at 11 a.m.

Mr. Hall was born July 22, 1930 to the late William Bill and Lillian Hall. He was a kind, loving and easy going person. He loved the Lord and his family and friends. He was nice to everyone he met and always greeted people with a smile. He joined the Piney Grove Baptist Chruch at an early age and accepted Christ through the ministries of Elder B. L. Dotson later on in life. He was preceded in death by siblings Robert James Hall, Flossie Mae Haynes, Willie (Bap) Hall, Frances McCrary and Dollie Hall.

Surviving are nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. W. Bennett Kee
Mr. W. Bennett Kee, 73, of Conyers, Ga., died Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at Gwinnett Medical Center.

A funeral was 11 a.m. Friday, June 7 at the Fairview Chapel of Horis A. Ward in Stockbridge. Pastor Greg Matthew and Pastor John Alread officiated, and burial was in Fairview Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Kee was born October 15, 1928 in Meriwether County, son of the late Harvey and Lillie Rowe Kee. He was an electrical contractor, a member of the Masonic Lodge, and a member of Conyers Christian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Christine Massengale Kee of Conyers; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Michael Blumenstein of Conyers; son, David Kee of Lilburn; brother, Marvin Kee of Moreland; two sisters, Wenonia Fuller of Woodbury, and Sybil Hancock of Moreland; grandson, Jason Blumenstein and his wife, Andrea of Conyers; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Angeline Marie Sorrenti (79), of Fayette County died May 14, 2002.

She was a retired accountant and property manager. She was born in Monroe County, Rochester, New York on February 24.1923

She was preceded in death by her parents, (Father) Antonio Syracuse and (Mother) Mrs. (Fanny) Philomena Meli Syracuse; husband, Tony Michael Sorrenti; and several infant sons.

Surviving are her daughter, Mary Ellen (Marty) Thompson of Fayette County; four grandchildren: Mr.& Mrs.Daniel F.and Tamara (Tammie) T.Perry of Coweta County, Ms. Tina M. Thompson of Coweta County, Mr. & Mrs. Tracy L. (Tray) and Katherine (Kathi) A. Isbell of Coweta County, Mr. & Mrs. Anthony Dean (Tony) and Myrtle J. Thompson of Coweta County; fourteen great grandchildren, Dustin F.Perry, Tony M. Hamza, Vennessa L. Thompson, Brandon D. Perry, Jeyson C. Brooks,Chritina L. Rice, Marrisa N.Thompson, Matthew J.B.Perry, Mark J.D.Perry, Tiffany Bundy, Randi Dawn Moore, Cassie Moore, Alex Isbell, Adam Isbell; two sisters, two brothers, several neices, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial Services were held Saturday, May 18 at Heritage Harvest Church of Fayette County.

Mrs. Lutie Bledsoe Walston
Mrs. Lutie Bledsoe Walston, 94, of Newnan, Ga., died Thursday, June 6, 2002 at Beaulieu Convalescent Center in Newnan.

She was born August 6, 1907 in Heard County, Ga.

Mrs. Walston was retired as a sales clerk from the former Kessler's Department Store in Newnan, and she also taught school at one time. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Artie Cunningham Bledsoe, her husband Nathan, and her son Royce.

Surviving are sisters, Nellie Edge of Newnan, and Dura Truitt of North Carolina; brother-in-law, Quillian Bell, Augusta, Ga.; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at McKoon Funeral Home Saturday, June 8 from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

A funeral will be at graveside in Oak Hill Cemetery Saturday at 11 a.m. Pastor Danny Wilson will officiate.

Mrs. Fannie Maude Eidson
Mrs. Fannie Maude Eidson, 84, of Newnan, Ga., widow of Rev. Travis Eidson, died Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at Dogwood Health and Rehabilitation.

She was born December 27, 1917, in Georgia and was retired from the textile industry. She was a faithful supporter of her husband's ministry and was choir director at Arnco Baptist Church for 28 years, and she knew the Sacred Harp music method. She and her husband had children in school for 42 years. Her late husband wrote a column for many years for The Times-Herald and a stretch of Georgia Highway 16 west is named in his memory. In addition to her husband Rev. Travis Eidson, she was preceded in death by a son, Caswell Eidson.

The family will receive friends at McKoon Funeral Home Friday, June 7, from 6-8 p.m. A funeral will be at McKoon chapel Saturday, June 8, at 2 p.m. Rev. Ken Norton, Dr. C. A. Jernigan and Rev. Roop Casell will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Roscoe Road.

Mr. Sammy Reese
Mr. Samuel O. Reese, 37, of Hogansville, Ga., a former resident of LaGrange, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at his home.

A funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 7 in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Bobby Robinson will officiate, and burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange.

Pallbearers will be Tim Byrom, Marcus Storey, Luke Spradlin, Anthony Byrom, Jeremiah Storey and Robert Reese.

Mr. Reese was born July 10, 1964 in LaGrange, son of Bobby R. Reese and the late Voney Gable Reese. He had lived in LaGrange most of his live and was retired as an auto body repairman.

Surviving in addition to his father are a daughter, Samantha Elaine Reese of Hogansville; three brothers, Dean Reese of Hogansville, Daniel reese and Tommy Reese, both of LaGrange; two sisters, Mary Storey and Marie Teal, both of LaGrange; and his grandmother, Flora Kirkland of Marietta.

Mrs. Juanita Reed Strickland
Mrs. Juanita Reed Strickland, 84, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at Newnan Hospital in Newnan, Ga.

A funeral will be held at graveside 11 a.m. Friday, June 7 in Lakeview Memorial Park with Rev. Thomas G. Brown officiating.

Mrs. Strickland lived in Miami Springs, Florida and retired from Pan Am. She was a recent resident of Newnan.

Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Strickland of Greensboro.

She is survivied by her son, James Michael Strickland and his wife Dale of Newnan.

The family will reveive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 6 at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Street Chapel.

Mr. Raburn Harris Wright
Mr. Raburn Harris Wright, 89, died June 5, 2002 at Portsbridge Hospice.

Mr. Wright was born February 10, 1913 in Sycamore, Ga., the son of the late Isiah J. and Edna Hathcock Wright, He was married to Louvenia Seay, who preceded him in death. A farmer in Haralson, Ga., he was a long-time member of the Haralson Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Wright is his daughter, Marie Wright Estep and her husband Jeff and their children Heather and Amanda of Newnan. There are five surviving sisters, Rosa Lee Moore, Ola Mae Posey, Minnie Wright, Kathleen Johnson and Lillie Scoggin; and one brother, Albert Wright.

The family will receive freinds at McKoon Funeral Home Friday, June 7, from 7-9 p.m. and again Saturday, June 8, from 1-2 p.m. at Haralson Baptist Church where the funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m.

Mr. John A. Fadeley
Mr. John A. Fadeley, 69, of Finzel, Maryland, and formerly a resident of Coweta County for 36 years, died Monday, May 27, 2002 at Memorial Hospital.

Born in Finzel Aug. 16, 1932, he was the son of the late Melvin and Ruth (McKenzie) Fadeley. He was also preceded in death by brothers James and Ira Fadeley; and sister Phoebe Spataro.

Mr. Fadeley was a Catholic by faith, was a U.S. Army veteran, and served in Germany during the Korean Conflict, and was retired from General Motors after 30 years of service.

He is survivied by his wife Jewel (Whitfield) Fadeley of Newnan, Ga.; sons, Albert Fadeley of Villa Rica, Ga., Jim Fadeley of Covington, Ga., Walter Fadeley of Sharpsburg, Ga., and Benny Fadeley of Newnan; daughter, Velda McElwaney of Fayetteville, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Benny McElwaney, Karen McElwaney, Michael Fadeley, Tony Fadeley, Angel Fox, Kelly Fadeley and Braxton Fadeley; five great-grandchildren, William Fadeley, Timothy Fadeley, Courtney Fox, Mollie Fox, and Jerry McElwaney; sister Dixie Geis of Long Stretch, Frostburg; and a brother, Leo Fadeley of Eckhart.

Friends were received at the Hafner Funeral Services, P.A., Chapel of the Hills, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, Maryland, Thursday, May 30, from noon to 1 p.m.

A funeral was conducted at the funeral home chapel Thursday, May 30 at 1 p.m. with Monsigner Thomas R. Bevan officiating.

Burial was in Frostberg Memorial Park Cemetery, Maryland.

Mr. Ed White
Mr. Ed White, 66, of Palmetto, Ga., died Tuesday, June 4, 202 in Century Florida.

He was born in 1936. He loved country music and enjoyed singing and playing his guitar. He came to know the Lord as his Savior in January 2001.

Mr. White is preceded in death by his mother, Louise E. Peavy.

Surviving is his son, Russ White; four daughters, Julie Booth-Moran, Lori Skaggs, Wendy White and Lisa Wilkinson; one sister; stepfather, Harry Peavy; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a dear aunt, Melonee Olsen; two very special ladies, Wilma Emrick and Julia White.

A funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 7 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Brother Jr. Chambers officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, June 6 from 6-8 p.m.

Burial will be in Pensacola Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Warna Kay Williams
Mrs. Warna Kay Williams, 78, of Newnan, died at her home Wednesday, June 5, 2002, after a brief illness.

Mrs. Williams was born in Edge Hill, MIssouri in 1923 to John and Clara Akridge. She graduated school in Ellington, Missouri and later lived in St. Louis, Missouri where she worked at Small Arms Munitions plant during World War II. She later went to work and subsequently retired in 1985 from White Rodgers, a division of Emerson Electirc. After her retirement she moved to Newnan, Ga. to live with her daughter, Mrs. Linda Kay Benton. In Newnan, she was an active member of Crossroads Church where she was a prayer team coordinator, a care taker for babies in the mothers morning out program, assisted with the preparation of the weekly church bulletins and mail outs, and was active in several other group ministries for the church. She will be remembered as a loving and kind mother and gandmother who always found the very best in everyone. She was always smiling, truly loved people, and had a heart for God.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Clara Akridge and four brothers, Wendell, J. M., Kenneth and Lendel Akridge. She is survivied by Linda Kay Benton and her husband David of Newnan; two grandchildren, Cindy Edgar and her husband Ronnie of Sharpsburg, Ga. and Tim Benton and his wife Leta of Covington, Ga.; three brothers, Bill Akridge and wife Ruth of Imperial, Missouri, Joe Akridge and wife Judy of Vienna, Missouri and Cleon Akridge and wife Janice of Affton, Missouri; sister, Emma Lou Pogue and husband Jack of Barnhart, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

The family will receive friends at Jones Funeral Home Thursday, June 6 from 6-9 p.m.

A funeral will be at Jones Funeral Home chapel at 2 p.m. Friday, June 7 with Pastor Ken Adams officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Newnan.

Minister John T. Yost
Minister John Thomas Yost, 69, of Newnan, Ga., died early Tuesday morning, June 4, 2002 after an extended illness.

Mr. Yost was born in Tazewell County, Virginia in 1933 to the late William and Olive Yost where he grew up and graduated Graham High School in Bluefield, Virginia. After high school, Mr. Yost began his career as an accountant with the Guilford County Administration Office before he was called to the ministry. He completed his master's degree in theology at the Emmanuel School of Religion in Johnson City, Tennessee. He will be remembered as a loving father, husband, minister and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Betty C. Yost of Newnan, Ga.; two sons, Richard E. Yost and wife Diane of Knoxville, Tenn. and Randy Yost and wife Lynn, of Thomasville, North Carolina; two brothers, James Yost of Greensboro, North Carolina and Arnold Yost of Bluefield, Virginia; three grandchildren, David, Heather and Isaac, several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and a host of friends.

Clarence Vaughn, Larry Gresham, Larry Brock, Carl Graham, Colen Harris, Donald Neese and Harlice Kimbrell will serve as pallbearers.

The family was receiving friends at Jones Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 5. A funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 6 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with the Minister Edward Herren officiating. Burial will be Saturday, June 8 at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Princeton, West Virginia.

Mr. Garnell Meacham
Mr. Garnell Meacham, 90, of Gresham Road, S.E. Atlanta, died Thursday, May 30, 2002 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.

A funeral will be Thursday, June 6, 2002 at noon at the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, 2340 Clifton Springs Road, Decatur, Ga. with the Rev. Jerry B. Black officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Lane Cemetery in Newnan. Pallbearers will be the Deacon Board of Beaulah Baptist Church.

Mr. Meacham was born in Grantville, Ga. in 1912 and moved to Newnan at an early age. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and retired from the Atlantic Steel Co. in Atlanta after 30 years of service.

Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years, Minnie Lee Meacham of Atlanta; nieces, Mary Rose Herring of Newnan, Mr. and Mrs. Holsie (Mary Virginia) King of Los Angeles, CA; nephew, George Johnson Jr. of Dayton, OH; God-children, Mary Ann Briley, Gwen Hunter, Joyce Cunningham of Atlanta and Mary Lee Cowart of Miami, FL; great nieces and great nephews; special loving relatives, the Keiths, Sims, Sheppards, Bohannons and Taylors; special friends, the Shipps, Howards, Dixons, Stockings, Dotsons, members of the Beulah Church Family and extended friends.

The remains will be placed in state one hour prior to the funeral.

Mr. Kyle Alan Taylor, 34, of Sargent, Ga., died Thursday, May 9, 2002 at Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital in Newnan.

Mr. Taylor was born September 12, 1967 in San Angelo, TX. He was a Crown Room agent for Delta Airlines.

Visitation was held at Hahn Funeral Home in Linden, IN on Monday, May 13 from 4-8 p.m. A funeral was at Hahn Funeral Home Tuesday, May 14 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Don Abdon officiated. Burial was in Linden Cemetery in Linden, IN.

Surviving are wife, Mary Anne Taylor of Newnan; parents, Jim and Karen Blue of Locust Grove, GA; son, Cameron Alan Taylor of Newnan; daughter, Megan Elizabeth Taylor of Newnan; brother, Brent and Nicole Taylor of Jenkinsburg, GA; niece, Laurel Taylor of Jenkinsburg, GA.

Minister John T. Yost
Minister John Thomas Yost, 69, of Newnan, Ga., died early Tuesday morning, June 4, 2002 after an extended illness.

Mr. Yost was born in Tazewell County, Virginia in 1933 to the late William and Olive Yost where he grew up and graduated Graham High School in Bluefield, Virginia. After high school, Mr. Yost began his career as an accountant with the Guilford County Administration Office before he was called to the ministry. He completed his master's degree in theology at the Emmanuel School of Religion in Johnson City, Tennessee. He will be remembered as a loving father, husband, minister and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Betty C. Yost of Newnan, Ga.; two sons, Richard E. Yost and wife Diane of Knoxville, Tenn. and Randy Yost and wife Lynn, of Thomasville, North Carolina; two brothers, James Yost of Greensboro, North Carolina and Arnold Yost of Bluefield, Virginia; three grandchildren, David, Heather and Isaac, several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and a host of friends.

Clarence Vaughn, Larry Gresham, Larry Brock, Carl Graham, Colen Harris, Donald Neese and Harlice Kimbress will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Jones Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 5. A funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 6 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with the Minister Edward Herrin officiating. Burial will be Saturday, June 8 at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Princeton, West Virginia.

Infant Eli Jacob Harris, son of Chris and Tammy Harris of Hutchinson-Ferry Road, Palmetto, Ga., was born and died May 31, 2002 at Southern Regional Hospital.

A funeral will be at Sardis Baptist church in Palmetto Friday, June 5 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tom Gullatt and Dr. Bob Helton officiating. Burial will be in the church Cemetery, and family members will serve as pallbearers.

Surviving in addition to his parents are grandparents Monty and Lynda Harris and Johnny and Jan Harris; great-grandparents Myra Harris, Joyce Wheeler and Doris McAnnally; great-great grandmother, Nellie Mobley; uncles and aunts, Troy and Sherrie Harris, Jason and Heather Chester; numerous great aunts and uncles.

Mr. Arthur W. Lamp
Mr. Arthur W. Lamp, 85, of Waterwood Bend, Peachtree City, Ga., died Saturday, June 1, 2002 at his residence.

Mr. Lamp was born December 12, 1916 in Cleveland, Ohio to Arthur and Ethel Lamp. He was an electrical engineer and was a member and deacon of Peachtree City Christian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Olga Lamp; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Bill Rider and Susan McElroy, all of Texas, and Kathy and Ben Moreland of Arizona; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Peachtree City Christian Church on Tuesday, June 4 at 2 p.m. Dr. George Dillard and Rev. Robert Tyler will officiate.

Mr. Eugene H. "Geno" Pope
Mr. Eugene H. "Geno" Pope, 46, of Newnan, died Saturday, June 1, 2002.

The family was receiving friends Monday, June 3, from 6-8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home.

A funeral will be Tuesday, June 4, at 4 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Tony Ashmore and the Rev. John Riley will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Roscoe Road.

Mr. Pope had worked for Yamaha Motor Co. in Newnan in maintenance for 13 years. He attended Crossroads Baptist Church. He will be remembered by his family as a loving, devoted father, son, brother and son-in-law and also as a very dedicated worker and very concerned of others.

Employees of Yamaha will serve as pallbearers.

Surviving are his wife, Juanita Pope of Newnan; daughters, Katie Pope and Lisa Pope of Newnan; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Dale Bowling of Newnan; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Chris Pope of Meansville, Ga.; father and mother, Howard and Eloise Pope of Meansville, Ga.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Danny and Wynenll Hornsby of Newnan.

Mr. Kenneth E. Rhea of Peachtree City died June 1, 2002.

During his live Mr. Rhea faithfully served the Lord Jesus Christ.

Surviving are his wife, Cindy Rhea; children, Kenneth E. "Kenny" Rhea II and Kristan M. "Kristy" Rhea, all of Peachtree City; parents, Gene and Shirley Rhea, Fairburn; sister, Shannon R. Rhea, Fairburn; paternal grandparents, Henry and Imogene Harden, Chattanooga, TN; nieces, Shirleana Rhea and Cody Rhea; and faithful dog, Chloe.

The family was receiving friends Monday and is again receiving friends Tuesday and Wednesday, June 2 and 3, from 6-8 p.m. at Carmichael-Hemperly Funeral Home in Peachtree City.

A funeral will be Thursday, June 6, at 2 p.m. at Royal Baptist Church in Newnan. The remains will be placed in state at 12:30 p.m. Dr. Paul Dennis will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn cemetery in College Park.

Mr. Theo D. Rowe, 71, died May 28, 2002 in Stewarton, Scotland, after a lengthy illness.

He was the third of eleven children born to the late Robert Perry Rowe and Nancy Strickland Rowe of Moreland, Ga. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Lee Rowe of Houston, Texas. Since his retirement from the U.S. Air Force in 1977, he had lived in Stewarton, Scotland, home of his wife, Cathie Reid Rowe.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Linda Rowe Vosseler and her husband Rainer of Isle of Skye, Scotland; three brothers, Leonard Rowe of Jackson, MS, Romeo Rowe of Spring, TX, and Jimmy Rowe of Moreland, Ga.; six sisters, Loretta Brown of Stone Mountain, Ga., Elizabeth Andrews of Staunton, VA, Ruby Edith Rowe of Tyrone, GA, Barbara Read of Comer, GA, Sue Echols of Luthersville, GA, and Shirley Huston of Lexington, SC. A funeral was June 1 in Stewarton, Scotland,

Contributions will be accepted by the Arthritis and Rheumatism Council for Research (Scotland), 140 High St., Lochee, Scotland.

Mr. Tobe Bryant Wallace, 91, of Roscoe Road, Newnan, Ga., died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital.

Mr. Wallace was born October 23, 1910 in Coweta County to Charlie and Catherine Wallace.

He was retired from Bibb Manufacturing and was a member of Newnan First United Methodist Church.

A funeral will be at Hillcrest Chapel Tuesday, June 4 at 4 p.m. with Rev. Gary Parrish officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan.

Surviving are his niece, Mrs. Evelyn Wright and other nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Louise Stubbs Carter
Mrs. Louise Stubbs Carter, 91, of Sharpsburg, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, at her home.

Mrs. Carter was a lifelong resident of Coweta County and a member of Cokes Chapel United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She devoted her life to being a homemaker and raising her 11 children. She also retired from Playtex after 20 years of service.

Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas T. Carter; son Jack Carter; and daughters Lucy C. Sewell and Betty Jean Cook.

A funeral will be held Monday, June 3, 2002, at 3 pm. at Unity Baptist Church. Pastor Danny Wilson will officiate and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Cliff Wilson, Larry Carter, Ken Barronton, Brian Wilson, Dean Taylor , Greg Carter, Tim Cook, and Danny Carter. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Sewell, Tony Carter, Joe Cook, Mike Carter, Steve Carter, Jim Thompson, Jay Rickett, and Johnny Fuller.

Surviving are: George T. Carter, Joann C. LaRocca, Sandra C. Cavender, and Lynn C. Wilson, all of Coweta County; Billy Carter and Richard Carter of Fayette County; Opal C. Thompson of Spalding County; and Martha C. Barronton of Fulton County; 28 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Jerold Arlander Williams
Mr. Jerold Arlander Williams, 37, of Newnan, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital.

Mr. Williams was born March 15, 1965 to Charlie and Anner Mae Williams. He attended Coweta County schools and was a 1983 graduate of Newnan High School.

A funeral will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Sellers-Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Tildlen Colton, assisted by Elder Charlie Barkley, Elder Ronnie Johnson, and Minister Tony Poythress. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery on Highway 154. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers and flower ladies.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, June 3, from 7 to 8 p.m. The cortege will assemble at the residence at noon on the day of the service.

Surviving are his parents, Anner Mae Williams and Charlie Williams (Odell); brothers, John Dennis Johnson and his wife Carolyn, and Charlie H. Williams; sisters, Alice M. Smith and her husband Wylie and Gloria A. Williams, all of Newnan; grandmother, Lena C. Johnson of Palmetto; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mr. Sterling L. Hesterly
Mr. Sterling L. Hesterly, 81, of Roanoke, Ala., and a former resident of Hogansville, died Friday, May 31, 2002, at Knollwood Retirement Center in Roanoke.

The funeral service will be conducted today at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with Minister Hal Simpson officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Mr. Hesterly was born May 3, 1921, in Pell City, Ala., son of the late Bruton Eugene Hesterly and the late Reggie Ammons Hesterly. He was an army veteran of World War II, a member of the Hogansville Church of Christ, and he was a retired master electrician. He lived in Hogansville for 25 years before making his home in Roanoke in 2001.

Survivors include one son, Sterling W. Hesterly of Bartlett, Illinois; one daughter, Mrs. Samantha Brundage of Mundelein, Illinois; one step-daughter, Mrs. Linda F. Brown of Roselle, Illinois; one sister, Mrs. Shirley Fowler of LaGrange; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Lula B. Knott
Mrs. Lula B. Knott, 99, of Clanton, Alabama, formerly of Newnan, Ga., died Thursday, May 30, 2002 at Hatley Nursing Home in Clanton.

Mrs. Knott was born to Wiley and Martha Welborn in Hall County in 1902 and would have been 100 years old in July of this year.

Mrs. Knott spent most of her life in the Newnan, Ga. area before moving to Alabama to be near her daughter, Mrs. Margie Edwards. Her priority in life was serving the needs of her family. She loved taking care of her children and attending the Church of Christ in Newnan.

Mrs. Knott is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Mr. William W. Knott; son, Willie Lee Knott; and daughter, Ruby Inez New.

Surviving are son, J. P. Knott of Newnan, Ga.; two daughters, Margie Edwards of Clanton, Ala., and Gloria Stanton of Bennettsville, South Carolina; ten grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Jones Funeral Home from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, June 1. A funeral will be at graveside in Oak Hill Cemetery Sunday, June 2 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Tery Calhoun officiating.
