MRS. O'KELLEY
Retired supervisor
COMMERCE - Mrs. Irene Hartley O'Kelley, 87, diedThursday, October 19, 2000, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce.
Mrs. O'Kelley was bornJanuary 16, 1913, in Jackson County. She was a daughter of W.D. "Bud" Hartley and the late Annie Bryan Hartley.
Mrs. O'Kelley was a retired supervisor with Commerce Sportswear and was of the Baptist denomination. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton O'Kelley.
Graveside services were held Sunday, October 22, in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce, with the Rev. Bill Manus officiating.
Survivors include two sons, Donald E. O'Kelley, Homer, and Mike O'Kelley, Hoschton; one daughter, Patricia Roper, Jackson, Miss.; two sisters, Hortence Felker, Jacksonville, Fla., and Bernice Scott, Commerce; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. SEABOLT
Retired
WINDER - Mrs. Margaret A. Seabolt, 72, diedSaturday, October 21, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mrs. Seabolt was bornJanuary 30, 1928, in Jackson County. She was a daughter of the late Bea and Pearl Manders Akins.
Mrs. Seabolt was retired and was of the Baptist denomination. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clabern Hicks.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 24, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, with Pastors Bobby Bugg and Harold Gaines officiating. Burial was in the White Plains Baptist Church cemetery, Jefferson.
Survivors include one son, William Hicks, Winder; two sisters, Azalea Gaines and Sara Lee, both of Pendergrass; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. WATKINS
Gordon's Chapel UMC member
HULL - Mrs. Blanche Drake Watkins, 91, diedThursday, October 19, 2000.
Mrs. Watkins was bornin Jackson County, a daughter of the late Elic and Mollie Sears Drake.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Gordon's Chapel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by her husband, John Willie Watkins, and a daughter, Gwenell Watkins Adams.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 21, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Revs. Robert Passmore and Kenneth Dillard officiating. Burial was in the Gordon's Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery. Dit Powell, Gene McConnell, Harold Gillispie, Brooks Crawford, John Chick and Darrell Allen served as pallbearers.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Seaborn and Margie Watkins, Athens, and Troy and Martha Watkins, Commerce; son, Frankie Watkins, Hull; one sister, Bessie Clark, China Grove, N.C.; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Brown Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MR. CALLAWAY
U.S. Navy veteran
WATKINSVILLE - Curtis Loyd Callaway, 71, diedSaturday, October 21, 2000.
A native of Jackson County, Mr. Callaway had lived most of his life in Clarke and Oconee counties. He was a son of the late Cleve and Sindie Helton Callaway.
Mr. Callaway was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a retired welder. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Brewer Callaway.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 23, in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, with Father John Cotterell officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Blanton Michael Dove, Dub Gabriel, Randy Gabriel, James Gerrin, Jeff Gerrin, Josh Grimes, Norman Paugh, Allen Kim Stephens, Ronnie Williams and Chris Williamson served as pallbearers.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Jeff Groover, Watkinsville, and Michelle and David Williamson, both of Hull; two sisters, Dora Mae Beck, Hull, and Sybil Irene Massey, Toccoa; and grandchildren, Donna Rene Bullock, Hilton Head, S.C., Jeffery Tuck Grover II, Watkinsville, and Brittney and Whittney Callaway, both of Hull.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Stephen's Anglican Church, 800 Timothy Road, Athens, GA 30606.
Bernstein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Jefferson native
CLEVELAND - Mrs. Eloise Moon Hayes, 72, formerly of Jefferson, diedSaturday, October 21, 2000, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Hayes was bornin Jefferson to the late Jewell Shields and Layunia Sims.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Moon.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 25, at Maxey Hill Baptist Church, Jefferson, with the Revs. Ambrose Jackson and Franklin Winters officiating. Burial was in the Maxey Hill Cemetery, Jefferson.
Survivors include one daughter, Hazel Summerour (Vallon), Cleveland; four sons, Nathaniel Moon (Alice), Larry Moon (Joyce), James Kenneth Moon, and George Moon (Louise), Jefferson; two brothers, James A. Shields, Chicago, Ill., and Samuel D. Shields (Jennie), Atlanta; 11 grandchildren, Bardel Summerour (Alicha), Cornelia, Valerie Summerour (Oliver), Cookie Summerour (Jeffrey), Tasha, Erica and Terica Moon, Cleveland, Shena Gresham, Ken Moon and Ricky Griffeth, Jefferson, Marsha Moon, Athens, and Kenneth Moon, Gainesville; six great-grandchildren, Ebonie and Tanisha Summerour, Cornelia, Katlyn and Ashton Summerour, Cleveland, and Devontae and Ashley Gresham, Jefferson; two brothers-in-law, Rufas Moon Jr. and Dennis Moon (Mary), Jefferson; two sisters-in-law, Louise Moore, Jefferson, and Lillie Shields, Decatur; two aunts, Assie Dotson, Statham, and Stella Wilheit, Jefferson; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

MR. UNDERWOOD
U.S. Army veteran
MT. AIRY - Buford Lee Underwood, 77, diedTuesday, October 24, 2000, at Lanier Park Hospital, Gainesville, following an extended illness.
Mr. Underwood was bornNovember 24, 1922, in Habersham County, a son of the late Author and Viattie Irvin Underwood.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II, and had been employed with Reeves Hardware. Mr. Underwood was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Luther Underwood and Eugene Underwood.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 26, at New Hope Baptist Church with the Revs. Hoyt Skelton, Henry Grady Barnes and Luther Williams officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Underwood is survived by his wife, Betty Jean McConnell Underwood; three brothers, Noah Underwood, Homer, Loy Underwood, Mt. Airy, and Charles "Buddy" Underwood, Lula; and two sisters, Ruby Thompson, Blacksburg, S.C., and Mozelle Thomas, Augusta.
The family is at the residence and was to have received friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia.

MRS. LACEY
Harmony Christian Church member
COMMERCE - Mrs. Helen Tucker Lacey, 85, of 188 B. Wilson Road, diedMonday, October 23, 2000, at her residence.
Mrs. Lacey was retired from Gold Kist and was a member of Harmony Christian Church.
She was a daughter of the late William Allen and Julia Wilson Tucker Sr., and was the wife of the late Roy R. Lacey.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 26, at Harmony Christian Church with Jerry Payne and Dennis Harris officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Otis Hiland, Maysville; sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Peggy Lacey, Evans, and Colie and Judy Lacey and Mike and Jean Lacey, all of Commerce; brother, Gene Allen, Detroit, Mich.; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one preborn great-grandchild.
The family is at the residence and was to have received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Dennis and Lynn Free Harmony Christian Church, P.O. Box 382, Commerce, GA 30529.

MR. HANLEY
World War II veteran
NICHOLSON - William Franklin Hanley Sr., 89, diedWednesday, October 18, 2000, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce.
Mr. Hanley was a bornSeptember 25, 1911, in Franklin County. He was a son of the late John P. and Lettie Mealor Hanley.
Mr. Hanley was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a retired auto salesman and of the Baptist denomination.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 20, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Kenneth Dillard and Howard Garrison officiating. Burial was in the New Harmony Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Hanley is survived by his wife, Willie Rice Wardlaw Hanley; one son, William F. Hanley Jr., Nicholson; one brother, Doyle Hanley, Commerce; one sister, Ruth Ingram, Commerce; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Little-Ward Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MR. MCGINNIS
U.S. Army veteran
JEFFERSON - George Wesley McGinnis, 76, diedMonday, October 23, 2000, at Habersham County Medical Center.
Mr. McGinnis was bornApril 4, 1924, in Hall County. He was a son of the late Guy Rueben and Nellie Lou Crisler McGinnis.
Mr. McGinnis was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II, and was a retired welder. He was a Mason and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, October 25, in the Wilson United Methodist Church cemetery with the Rev. Larry Wilbanks officiating.
Survivors include three sons, Greg McGinnis, Jefferson, Mike McGinnis, Winneconne, Wis., and Tim McGinnis, Omro, Wis.; two brothers, Guy McGinnis, Toccoa, and Harold McGinnis, Commerce; two sisters, Lucille Sims, Maysville, and Dorothy Trammell, Pine Mountain; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideon International, or to the charity of one's choice.
