Grace Bradberry
Grace Betts Bradberry, 76, of Watkinsville, died Wednesday, September 29, 2004.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late George and Ina Lavender Betts. Mrs. Bradberry was retired from Sears and was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband. Robert D. Bradberry.
Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Jo Ann Bradberry, Hull, Eddie and Kay Bradberry, Commerce, Randy and Debbie Bradberry, Loganville, and Jeff and Tina Bradberry, Hoschton; sister, Joan Hardin, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; brother, Cecil Betts, Athens, seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 2, at the Central Baptist Church, with the Revs. Bob Nash and Terry Stutes officiating. Burial was in Prospect Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Eddie Kinnard, Bobby Bradberry, Jimmy Bradberry, Kevin Guest, Mark Betts, and Rusty Betts.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, Athens, was in charge of the arrangements.

Gladys Shelton
Gladys Davis Shelton, 86, of Nicholson, died Sunday, October 3, 2004, at Athens Regional Medical Center, Athens.
Born in Hart County, August 2, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Callie Little Davis. Mrs. Shelton worked in the manufacturing of paper product. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Survivors include one sister, Azalee Dove, Nicholson.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, October 5, at the Rose Hill cemetery with Mr. Vernon Boswell officiating.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of the arrangements.

Frances Slaton
Frances Odell LeCroy Slaton, 90, of Royston, died Saturday, October 2, 2004, at Hart County Hospital.
Born in Oconee County, S.C., July 22, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Willie Snow and Emma Shiflet LeCroy. She was a seamstress and a member of the Royston Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Ed LeCroy, and a sister, Idell Busby.
Survivors include a son, Tommy Slaton, Martin; daughter, Naomi Slaton Scogin, Royston; brothers, Curt LeCroy, Athens, Jimmy LeCroy, Greenville, S.C. Gene LeCroy, Belton, S.C.; sisters, Louisa Busby, Lavonia, JoAnn Skelton, Starr, S.C., Ruth Page, Belton, S.C., Shirley Holcombe, Anderson, S.C., Cecil Saylors, Braselton, Willie Mae Graham, Crossroads, S.C.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 4, in the chapel of the Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Byron Greene and Dr. Danny Barton officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Royston.

'Bud' London
Abner "Bud" London, 70, of Commerce, died Tuesday, September 28, 2004, at his residence following an extended illness.
Born in White County, he lived the past 16 years in Commerce. Mr. London worked for many years at Georgia Chair Company and with the Chattahoochee Furniture Company, attended Lighthouse Church in Maysville, and was a member of the Crying in the Wilderness Church in Commerce. He was preceded in death by his son, Jack Abner London.
Survivors include his wife, Angie London, Commerce; daughters, Angie Reeves, Danielsville and Linda London, Commerce; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Lawrence London and Jerry Edward London, both of Gainesville; five sisters, Mary Pauline Morrison, Reba Gibbs, Vera Armour, all of Gainesville, Sallie Smith, Box Springs, Thelma Green, Phoenix City, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, September 30, at the Chattahoochee Baptist Church in Cleveland, with the Revs. Ray Banks and Winfred Bingram officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Little-Davenport Funeral Home, Gainesville, was in charge of the arrangements,.

Cathline Bell
Cathline Millsap Bell, 85, of Hoschton, died Tuesday, November 23, 2004.
Born April 10, 1919, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Ora and Bertha Haywood Millsap. She went to school in the public schools of Jackson County and at an early age, joined New Hope A.M.E. Church, where she remained a faithful member until her death. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wylie Bell.
Survivors include nephews and spouses, Charles A. Turner, Sr. and Phyllis Turner, Henry Witt, Winder, Michael and Virginia Turner, Atlanta; nieces and spouses, Bernice and A.J. Turner, Carie Turner Rosemond, Cheryl Turner, all of Atlanta, Mildred Hosch and Nell Sims, both of Winder; sisters-in-law, Nora Finch, Covington, and Leora Hughey, Conyers; and a host of great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends, including life-long friend, Maccilla Scruggs, Hoschton.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 27, in the New Hope A.M.E. Church, Hoschton, with the Rev. Vonshurii Wrighten, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were great-nephews.
Eberhart & Son Mortuary, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Smith
Mary Freeman Smith, 83, of Bogart, died Wednesday, November 24, 2004.
A native of Athens, she was the daughter of the late Randall Stanley and Lilly McCall Freeman. She was retired from Sears where she was a long time employee and was a member of the Golden Globes of Milledge Avenue Baptist Church, the Retired Employees of Sears and past president of the St. Mary’s Auxiliary. Mrs. Smith was also a member of the LIFT and the First United Methodist Church of Athens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Edward Smith, Jr., “Buck” and son, George B. Smith, “Skipper”.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Patti and John Walshe, Watkinsville, Lynn Balch, Jefferson; daughter-in-law, Catherine Smith, Signal Mountain, Tenn.; grandchildren, Craig and Anna Marie Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Tricia and Jon Massey and Evan Walsh; great-grandchildren, Maddie Smith, Kate and Lauren Massey; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Sunday, November 28, at Oconee Hill cemetery with memorial services following at Highland Hills Village with the Revs. Jon Appleton and Grady Wigley and Dr. Bill Britt officiating.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Hospice House, P.O. Box 6588, Athens, Ga. 30604.
Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.

Allen Witt
Allen Witt, 67, of Hoschton, died Saturday, November 20, 2004, at Jones Hospital.
Born September 4, 1937, he joined New Hope A.M.E. Church at an early age. As a teen he worked in construction and made that a career of ten years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Molly Billy Witt.
Survivors include two step-children, Darthy Williams and Lionel Billing; cousin, Ruth Harris; and two friends, Annie May Campbell and Earnest Thrasher.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 27, at New Hope A.M.E. Church with the Revs. Vonshurii S. Wringten, C. Champion and K. Cooper officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Eberhart and Son Mortuary, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.

Jerry Lord
Jerry Jerome Lord, 63, of Lawrenceville, died Monday, November 22, 2004, from complications of a massive heart attack.
He lived his entire life in the Buford/Lawrenceville area and was a well known and respected business owner in Buford. He devoted his life to God and doing God’s work through his local church, Yellow River Baptist Church and to the support of foreign mission work, according to loved ones. Mr. Lord was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Danita Kaye Lord and grandson Dustin David Lord.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Banks Lord, “who loved and adored Jerry for their 46 years of marriage and companionship,” state family members; son and daughter-in-law, David and Tracy Lord, Buford; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Donny Elder, Buford, and Dana and Marty Schaub, Lawren-ceville; his loving dog, Bichon Bouncer; nine grandchildren who adored their “Papa”, Hillary Lord, Buford, Kristin, Jordan and Kacey Smucker, Jason and Josh Elder, all of Buford, Jonathan Litsky, Bailey and Tyler Schaub, all of Lawrenceville; two great-grandchildren, Dustin Patrick Ridenour and Caleb Wayne Bckebrede, both of Buford; father, J.P. Lord, Buford; sisters and brothers-in-law, Charlotte and Kenneth Allen, Buford, Cindy and Keith Pass, Flowery Branch; and brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Darleena Lord, Hoschton.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 26, in the Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Jerry Cline and Jimmy Greer officiating. Burial was in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford.
Memorials may be made to Yellow River Baptist Church, 3650 Five Forks Trickum Road, Lilburn, Ga. 30047, or to Good Samaritan Baptist Mission, P.O. Box 430, Villa Rica, Ga. 30180.
Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel, Buford, was in charge of arrangements.

Robert Danner
Robert C. Danner, 78, of Commerce, died Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at BJC Hospital following an extended illness.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Danner and a sister, Maxine Shoenbeck.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Sue Russo, Commerce; a brother, Richard Danner, What Cheer, Iowa; a sister, Margaret Slyter, Davenport, Iowa; one grandchild, Danielle Mitchell; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 26, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. John Webber officiating.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.

‘Michelle’ Seabolt
April “Miche-lle” Seabolt, 28, of Braselton, died Friday, November 19, 2004, at Macon Manor Nursing Home following an automobile ac-cident.
Born April 21, 1976, she was the daughter of the late Earnest Seabolt and she was a Baptist.
Survivors include her mother, Tempy Humphries; a son, Tyler Joe ‘T.J.” Metcalf; daughters, Brittnay Lord, Destiny Lord, Makayla Metcalf, and Leann Brock; and brothers, Mitchell Seabolt and Jerome Barnett.
Memorial services were held Wednesday, November 24, at Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, with the Rev. Russell Page officiating. Burial was at Mulberry Baptist Church.

Jaye Wallace
Jaye Lynn Wallace, 38, of Buford, died Monday, November 29, 2004, following an extended illness.
Jaye was a loving wife and mother and a life-long resident of the area, according to members of her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Buford, where she formerly taught in the church preschool and Mission Friends program. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Parker.
Survivors include her husband, John Wallace, Buford; daughter, Taylor Wallace, Buford; mother and father, Brenda and Don Griffis, Braselton; brother, Joshua Parker, Kennesaw; grandmother, Bertha Miller, Duluth; grandparents, Melvin and Louise Griffis, Decatur; aunt and uncle, Shirley and Charles Wilder, Lawrenceville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cecil and Evelyn Wallace, Buford; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Vicky and Howard Ivey, Chestnut Mountain; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Becky Wallace and Kenneth and Allison Wallace, all of Buford; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 1, at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel with the Rev. G. Stephen Wood officiating. Burial was in Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens, Buford.

‘Vickie’ Banks
Victoria Ann Banks, 46, of Jefferson, died Saturday, November 27, 2004, at BJC Hospital, Commerce, following a massive heart attack.
Born October 2, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Harris. She was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Harris.
Survivors include her husband, Sanford Banks, Jefferson; two sons, Fabian Banks and Vontae Banks, both of Jefferson; mother, Alice Mabel Harris, Jefferson; sisters, Leatrice Lester, Athens, and Mary Wilson, Jefferson; one brother, Roy Lee Harris, Jefferson
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 3, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul First Baptist Church, Jefferson, with the Rev. Marvin Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, noon to 7 p.m. at Forestglen Mortuary.
