MRS. PRESLEY
Homemaker
MAYSVILLE - Mrs. Vivian Ariail Presley, 77, died Thursday, December 21, 2000, at her residence.
Mrs. Presley was born July 16, 1923, in Banks County, a daughter of the late Omer Ariail and Hattie Strange Ariail Reynolds.
She was a homemaker and a member of Maysville Baptist Church. Mrs. Presley was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. "Bob" Presley, and a brother, O.G. Ariail.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 23, at Maysville Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Stowe officiating. Burial was in Sunrise Cemetery, Maysville.
Survivors include three sons, Lamar Presley, Larry Presley and Richard Presley, all of Maysville; two sisters, Mary Jones, Leslie, and Revelle Massey, Commerce; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.

MISS LORD
Retired cashier
COMMERCE - Miss Bessie Mae Lord, 86, died Wednesday, December 20, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Miss Lord was born December 11, 1914, in Banks County, a daughter of the late Marion Luther and Mary Virginia Hix Lord.
She was a retired drug store cashier and was a member of Blacks Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 22, at Blacks Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Lee Hunter and Bill Carpenter officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Miss Lord is survived by one sister, Minnie Ruth Lord, Commerce; one niece and a number of nephews.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.

MR. WILSON
Retired carpenter
CORNELIA - Hoyt Daniel Wilson, 76, died Wednesday, December 20, 2000, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Wilson was born September 2, 1924, in Habersham County. He was a son of the late Goss and Rosey Reed Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was a retired carpenter and was a member of B.C. Grant Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 22, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, with the Revs. John Cooley and Trent Smith officiating. Burial was in the B.C. Grant Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Ella Underwood Wilson, Cornelia; five daughters, Frances Wilson Lumsden and Louise Dills, both of Baldwin, Doris Ivie, Lawrenceville, and Margie Puckett and Rosey Puckett, both of Buford; three sons, Hoyt Wilson Jr. and Edward Wilson, both of Baldwin, and Milton Wilson, Mt. Airy; and 14 grandchildren.
McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. GRIFFITH
Jefferson Mills retiree
MAYSVILLE - Mrs. Asalee Griffith, 84, died Sunday, December 24, 2000, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Griffith was born May 29, 1916, in Jackson County. She was a daughter of the late Newt and Sally Hix Smallwood.
Mrs. Griffith was retired from Jefferson Mills and was of the Baptist denomination. She was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Martin and Charlie Martin.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 27, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Dennis Kesler officiating. Burial was in Woodbine Cemetery, Jefferson. Danny Adams, Ricky Baker, Wayne Dobbs, Nickie Peppers, Randy Satterfield and Cain Tate served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Joseph Griffith, Kenneth Griffith, Greg Martin, Kelly Martin, Mitchell Martin, Bobby Worley and Pete Worley.
Mrs. Griffith is survived by her husband, Harold Griffith, Maysville; three sons, Kent Griffith and Tommy Griffith, both of Homer, and Billy Martin, Loganville; three daughters, Mary White, Norcross, Dillis Whitmire, Maysville, and Betty Worley, Jefferson; 24 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Evans Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MR. ENGLISH
Rose Hill cemetery rites
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Cody English, 11, formerly of Winder, died Tuesday, December 19, 2000.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 23, in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home, Winder, with the Rev. Robbie Black officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include his mother, Amy English, Winder; one sister, Amanda Martin, Monroe; one brother, Aaron Johnson, Macon; and grandparents, Jan English, Winder, Wayne English, Demorest, Helen Williams, Macon, and Blattice English, Homer.
Carter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MR. ALLEN
World War II veteran
GAINESVILLE - Sherman Joe Allen died Sunday, December 17, 2000, following an extended illness.
Mr. Allen served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was retired from Wrigley's. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 19, in the chapel of Little-Davenport Funeral Home, Gainesville, with the Revs. David Matthews, Fulton Boswell and Charlie Harper officiating. Burial was in the Poplar Springs Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Nell Braselton Allen, Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Linda Allen, Cumming, Kevin and Patsy Allen, Pendergrass, Glen and Renee Allen, Marietta, and Stanley and Donna Allen, Gainesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Tony Wages, Flowery Branch, Janie and Joseph Rimler, Baldwin, and Jayn and Russell Miller, Gainesville; grandchildren, Tonya Sheuring, Lisa Oliver, Lorrie Day, Melissa Allen, Shelia Allen, Jay Allen, Jed Allen, Michael Wages, Alicia Wages, Amoreena Hart, Shawnee Rimler, Samantha Allen, Cody Miller, Matthew Miller, Craig Oliver and Jonathan Oliver; and great-grandchildren, Leighanne Allen, Elijah Sheuring and Douglas Day.

MRS. TAYLOR
Banks County native
DEMOREST - Mrs. Vada G. Taylor, 82, died Saturday, December 23, 2000, at a private nursing center following an extended illness.
Born in Banks County, Mrs. Taylor was a daughter of the late Robert and Gladys Poole Ausborn.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist denomination. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Thompson, and her second husband, William Taylor.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 24, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, with the Revs. Charles Black and Keith Allison officiating. Burial was in the B.C. Grant Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors include two step-daughters, Diane Black, McCaysville, and Shirley Sims, Hoschton; three step-sons, Gary Taylor, Mike Taylor and Tommy Taylor, all of Demorest; one half-brother, Charles Ausborn, Toccoa; one half-sister, Carolyn Ausborn, Toccoa; 15 step-grandchildren, 18 step-great-grandchildren and five step-great-great-grandchildren.
McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. MULVIHILL
Hillside Baptist member
DEMOREST - Mrs. Sabina Jenkins Mulvihill, 87, died Thursday, December 21, 2000, at Habersham County Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mrs. Mulvihill was born June 19, 1913, in Habersham County, a daughter of the late Jesse Riley and Lelia Sosebee Jenkins.
She had worked as an LPN at the Georgia State Hospital in Alto and was a member of Hillside Baptist Church. Mrs. Mulvihill was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Price Mulvihill.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 23, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, with Dr. John Bridges officiating. Burial was in the Fairfield Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, John Riley and Margie Mulvihill, Demorest; grandchild, Christopher Riley Mulvihill, Mt. Airy; one niece, Lenora Faver, Demorest; one nephew, Kevin Riley Jenkins, Hanford, Calif.; three great-nieces, Cindy Reynolds, Clarkesville, Pat Cleveland, Winder, and Lait Faver, Demorest.

MRS. GAINES
Homemaker
TROUTMAN, N.C. - Mrs. Sandra Wilkes Gaines, 41, died Sunday, December 23, 2000, at Iredell Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
Mrs. Gaines was born July 23, 1959, in Habersham County, a daughter of Betty Katherine Wilkes, Winder, and the late Otis Fred Wilkes.
She was a homemaker and a member of Cool Springs United Methodist Church. Mrs. Gaines was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Joyce Wilkes.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 27, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, with the Revs. Abraham Cox, Michael Wilkes and Darren Wilkes officiating. Burial was in the Cool Springs United Methodist Church cemetery.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Gaines is survived by her husband, Glenn Ramsey, Troutman, N.C.; two sons, Edward Nathaniel Ramsey and Erik Jerrard Ramsey, both of Troutman, N.C.; three brothers, Roger Wilkes, Demorest, Charles Wilkes, Clarkesville, and Donald Wilkes, Clermont; one sister, Brenda Smith, Athens; and several nieces and nephews.
McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MR. SAUCIER
Stone mason
PENDERGRASS - Burch Anno "B.J." Saucier Jr., 22, died Wednesday, December 20, 2000, at his residence.
Mr. Saucier was born August 15, 1978, in Gulfport, Miss. He was a son of Burch Anno Saucier Sr. and Patricia Ward Saucier.
Mr. Saucier was employed as a stone mason and was of the Baptist denomination.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 23, in the chapel of Jackson Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Kenneth Sizemore officiating. Burial was in the Center Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include one daughter, Jacqueline Saucier, Pendergrass; one son, Jeremiah Saucier, Pendergrass; one sister, Clairissa "Cassie" Saucier, Pendergrass; one brother, Joshua Saucier, Pendergrass; maternal grandparents, Bennie F. and Patricia J. Barnes, Panama City Beach, Fla.; aunt, Arie Bryant, Jefferson; and uncle, Kevin L. Barnes, Jacksonville, Fla.
Jackson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
