Lucy C. Bond
Mrs. Lucy C. Bond, 86, of Danielsville, died Saturday, August 19, 2000, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce.
Mrs. Bond was born October 26, 1913, a daughter of Andrew Cox and the late Ethelene Shields Cox.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton L. Bond.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 21, at Mt. Zion Baptist church with the Revs. Douglas Duncan, John Mitchell and Hilton Purvis officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Bond's grandsons served as pallbearers.
Survivors, in addition to her father, include seven sons, Bobby D. Bond and Kenneth G. Bond, both of Comer, Donald A. Bond, Larry N. Bond and Morris E. Bond, all of Danielsville, and Douglas Bond and Willard Ray Bond, both of Commerce; one daughter, Glenda Shirley, Anderson, S.C.; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.

James R. McElroy
James Ronald "Ron" McElroy, of Athens, died Thursday, August 17, 2000.
A native of Madison County, Mr. McElroy was a son of J.C. McElroy, Danielsville, and the late Johnnie Merle Booth McElroy.
He served in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy and retired from Westclox in Athens, following 21 years of service. Mr. McElroy was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church, where he served as an usher.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 20, at Prince Avenue Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Ricketts, John Verschuren and Howard Greer officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park. Dennis Whitfield, Chuck Weaber, Wayne Lyle, Mike Almond, Todd McElroy and Bob Turner served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer was Dr. John Davis.
Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife, Shari R. McElroy; one sister, Mary Ellen Simms, Danielsville; two brothers, Gene O. McElroy, Jefferson, and Troy L. McElroy, Danielsville; two nieces, four nephews, one great-niece, one great-nephew and two godchildren, Katie Sinclair and Megan Teeuwen, both of Versailles, Mo.
Memorials may be made to the Prince Avenue Baptist Church Benevolent Fund, P.O. Box 1112, Athens, GA 30603.
Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.

Joel H. Waggoner
Joel Hollis Waggoner, 94, of Colbert, died Monday, August 21, 2000.
Mr. Waggoner was born in Madison County, a son of the late Johnny M. and Bertha Glenn Waggoner.
He was a farmer and a member of the Word of Life Congre- gational Holiness Church. Mr. Waggoner was preceded in death by his wife, Hester Peterman Waggoner, and two daughters, Sara Christian and Betty Morris.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 23, at the Word of Life Congregational Holiness Church with the Revs. Herman Nation, Dennis Kesler and Mike Spence officiating. Burial was in Colbert City Cemetery. Mr. Waggoner's grandsons served as pallbearers.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Brooks, Crawford, and Carol Haggard, Danielsville; one son, James Edgar Waggoner, Colbert; 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Union Grove Camp Ground, Cleveland, Ga.
Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.

Nonia H. Carey
Mrs. Nonia Haggard Carey, 89, of Toccoa, died Thursday, August 17, 2000, in McEntire Manor Personal Care Home, Carnesville.
Mrs. Carey was born September 22, 1910, in Madison County. She was a daughter of the late John Carlton and Vera Culberson Haggard.
Mrs. Carey had resided in Toccoa for some 40 years. She was a graduate of Piedmont College and was a retired school teacher, having taught for some 36 years in Franklin, Madison and Stephens counties. Mrs. Carey was a member of Ila Baptist Church and a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Carey, who passed away July 30, 1972, and a daughter, Carol Aiken.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 19, in Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home, Toccoa, with the Rev. Dr. Tim Miller and the Rev. Jerrell Beatty officiating. Burial was in Stephens Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Carey is survived by one son, Mike Carey, Toccoa; one sister, Eleanor Mize, Athens; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Acree-Davis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Yvonne J. Benton
Mrs. Yvonne Jordan Benton, 64, of Athens, died Wednesday, August 16, 2000.
A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Benton was a daughter of the late Rev. Jesse Lee and Mary Ware Jordan.
She was conference coordinator with UGA Institute of Higher Education and was a member of Christian Life Worship Center.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 18, at Christian Life Worship Center with the Rev. John W. Ingham officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park. Harold Benton Jr., Bill Benton, David Benton, Brad Walters, Mac Walters and Mark Walters served as pallbearers. Mrs. Benton's grandsons, Jesse David Benton and Samuel David Benton, served as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Benton is survived by her husband, Harold L. Benton; sons and daughters-in-law, Harold L. Jr. and Diana Benton, Lawrenceville, Bill and Angela Benton, Ila, and David and Cindy Benton, Jefferson; sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Donald Walters, Winterville; and three grandchildren, J.D. Benton, S.D. Benton and Emma Grace Benton.
Memorials may be made to the American Liver Foundation, Georgia Chapter, 1201 Clairmont Road, Suite 120, Decatur, GA 30030.

Cecil G. Allen
Cecil G. Allen, 86, of Americus, died Sunday, August 20, 2000.
A native of Madison County, Mr. Allen was a retired farmer and had served as former justice of the peace in the Huntington Community of Americus. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Services will be held at a later date.
Survivors include one daughter, Pat Slater, Evans; two sisters, Marie Jenkins and Cathline Sorrow, both of Danielsville; two brothers, Neal Allen and Grady Allen, both of Danielsville; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Leslie Road, Americus, GA 31709, Moons Grove Baptist Church, Danielsville, GA 30633, or to Golden Harvest Food Bank, 3310 Commerce Drive, Augusta, GA 30909.

Rufus C. Bridges
Rufus Cleveland Bridges, 67, of Lexington, died Wednesday, August 16, 2000.
Mr. Bridges was born in Madison County, a son of the late Joel and Ola Fortson Bridges.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and had been employed with GoldKist. Mr. Bridges had lived in the Lexington area for about five years, after moving from Madison County, and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Graveside services were held Friday, August 18, in the Friendship Baptist Church cemetery with the Revs. Dayton Logan and James Woods officiating. Jason Sparks, Johnny Payne, Kerry Callaway, Jeramy Payne, Hubert Lee Bridges Jr. and Chris Title served as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Bridges is survived by a sister, Martha B. Ward, Watkinsville; and one brother, Herman Bridges, Lexington.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Oglethorpe Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.

Roy A. Reynolds
Roy Arnold Reynolds, of Commerce, died Tuesday, August 22, 2000, at his residence.
Mr. Reynolds was born January 14, 1943, in Fulton County. He was a son of the late Roy A. Reynolds Sr. and the late Vivian Jeanette Stephens Reynolds.
Mr. Reynolds was retired from the United States Postal Service, where he was a building equipment mechanic. He attended Grove Level Baptist Church, Maysville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 24, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. Chris Pritchett officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce. Greg Scott, Bob Morrow, Ralph Eten, Billy Compton, Larry White and Kevin White will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Reynolds is survived by his wife, Eleanor Octavia DeLong Reynolds; three daughters, Melody Scott, Franklin Springs, Misty McMorrow, Commerce, and Monya Compton, Lawrenceville; one sister, Jeanette White, Tucker; and three grandchildren, Eric and Brian Scott, both of Franklin Springs, and Sarah Pippin, Commerce.
The family was to have received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pruitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

John H. Beard
John Henry Beard, 94, of Danielsville, died Saturday, August 19, 2000, at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston.
Mr. Beard was born December 18, 1905, a son of the late Sam Easton and Eugenia Collins Beard.
He was a retired truck driver and farmer and was of the Holiness denomination. Mr. Beard was preceded in death by his wife, Ina Watson Beard, four brothers, Nelson, DuPree, Jim and Reese Beard, and three sisters, Ruby Hughes, Eudie Gunnells and Janie Carey. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 21, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. Dennis Kesler officiating. Burial was in the Jones Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Walter Walls, Danielsville; three grandchildren, Terry and Sam Walls and Polly Penson, all of Danielsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pruitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Ray D. Dallmeyer
Ray D. Dallmeyer, 83, of Danielsville, died Thursday, March 23, 2000.
Mr. Dallmeyer was born in St. Charles, Mo., a son of the late Leo Casper and Hilda Dierker Dallmeyer.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Air Corps, and had worked as marketing manager for Amoco. Mr. Dallmeyer was of the Episcopalian faith.
Mr. Dallmeyer will be buried in St. Peter Cemetery, St. Charles, Mo.
Survivors include his wife, Helen J. Johnson Dallmeyer; and son and daughter-in-law, Dr. R. David and Dorinda Dallmeyer, Danielsville.
Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.
