Services, and a concert honoring his contributions, have been set for noted Island slack key guitarist LEONARD FRANKLIN KE‘ALA KWAN SR., 68, who died Monday. He was born in Honolulu. Kwan’s albums have included "Slack Key," with his now trademark piece, "‘Opihi Moemoe," and "Ke‘ala’s Mele." Survived by sons, Leonard Ke‘ala Jr., Kenneth and Kevin-Lee; brother, the Rev. Melvin Kwan; sister, Mildred Jeremiah; and seven grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at Diamond Head Mortuary; services 7:30 p.m. Visitation also 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will follow at 12:45 p.m. at Diamond Head Memorial Park. Aloha attire is requested. Kwan and his music will also be included at the 18th Annual Bankoh Ki Ho‘alu slack-key festival, 2 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Royal Hawaiian Hotel, Coconut Grove.

IKE SHIGETO AGENA, 87, of Honolulu, died Aug. 5, 2000. Born in Mountain View, Hawai‘i. A retired federal civil engineer for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command at Pearl Harbor.
