CEDAR FALLS -- Caroline L Brandt-Schmidt, 94, of the Western Home Communities, formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, of natural causes; services 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories; visitation 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Garden View Chapel, Waterloo, 232-2222, and for an hour before services Monday at the church; memorials to Valley Lutheran High School.

WATERLOO -- Elsa "Elsie" M. Harper, 96, of Waterloo, died at home Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, of natural causes; services 2 p.m. Monday at Garden View Chapel, 232-2222, with burial in Garden of Memories; visitation noon until services Monday at the chapel; memorials to Elsie Harper Memorial Fund at Immanuel Lutheran School.

WATERLOO -- Brian L. Hickman, 39, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at Allen Hospital; memorial services 10:30 a.m. Monday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Evansdale, with inurnment at a later date in Garden of Memories.

OSAGE -- Mary D. Counsell, 77, formerly of Osage, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City; services 11 a.m. Saturday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, (641) 732-3706, with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, both in Osage; visitation from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

OELWEIN -- Iva R. Smith, 93, of Oelwein, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at Grandview Health Care Center, Oelwein, after a lengthy illness; services 11 a.m. Monday at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, (319) 283-4922, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, both in Oelwein; visitation for an hour before services Monday at the funeral home.
