DENGLER, GWENDOLYN was born June 8, 1922 in Waverly, Iowa, the daughter of Ben and Esther (Goenik) Volker. She married Percy L. Dengler on December 25, 1950 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Gwen was an accountant for 39 years at Clay Equipment Company in Cedar Falls , retiring in 1982. She died Friday, August 31, 2000, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa, at 78 years of age.
Gwen is survived by her husband Percy, of Cedar Falls and one brother, Fred Volker of Fairbank, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Beverly Fagerlind and Elaine Tiller.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Nazareth Lutheran Church with burial preceding at 9:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Waterloo, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home or Cedar Valley Hospice.

DENSLER, ANNA E. was born September 18, 1909 in Schwanheina, Germany, the daughter of Jakob and Sophie (Strein) Schmitt. She married Charles E. Densler on April 20, 1935 in Easton, Pennsylvania. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1972. Anna was a long time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She died Thursday, September 12, 2002 at her home in McPherson, Kansas, at 92 years of age.
Anna is survived by her son, Robert Densler and his wife Virginia of McPherson, Kansas; three grandchildren, David Densler and his wife Dian, Sherrianne Latzke and Bill Densler and his wife Robin; five great-grandchildren, two step-granddaughters, five step-great-grandchildren, two step-great-great-grandchildren and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; four sisters, Tekla Kunzman, Hilda Tangler, Elsa Reihel and Louise Lohmeyer, and a brother, Willie Schmitt.
Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2002, at St. John's Lutheran Church, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the church.

DICKINSON, EARL RAYMOND was born on May 25, 1913 in Waterloo, Iowa the son of Raymond Clair and Lulu Eva (Green) Dickinson. On June 20, 1936 he was united in marriage to Maybeth Lyon at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Earl was employed at John Deere as a machinist for 40 years and then was a tour guide for 10 years. He died on Tuesday, December 29, 1998 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa at 85 years of age.
Earl is survived by his wife, Maybeth of Waterloo, one son, Tommy Dickinson and his wife Esther of Girard, Ohio; one daughter, Carolyn Haley and her husband John of Washburn, Iowa; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two brothers Clyde of Prentice, Wisconsin & Glenn of Raleigh, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Cecil, Lowell, Ernest and Elmer.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 1999 at Cedar Heights Baptist Church, Cedar Falls, with burial at Garden of Memories in Waterloo, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the church.

DICKINSON, MAX R., 80, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at his home in Cedar Falls. He was born November 30, 1919 in Charles City, Iowa, the son of Albert and Olga (Anderson) Dickinson. Max married Ruth Byers on December 15, 1941 in Kahoka, Missouri. He served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre during W.W. II. Max was employed as a welder for twelve years with Clay Equipment Company in Cedar Falls and with Cribmaster of America for several years.
He is survived by his wife Ruth and his son Kenneth M. Dickinson, both of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren, Keith and Douglas Steimel, Laura Rose, and Carolyn and Elizabeth Dickinson; eight great-grandchildren, Nichole, Jason, Justin and Natalie Steimel, Dylan and Sydney Steimel, and Courteney and Lyndesey Rose; a brother Leo Dickinson of Glenora, California; a sister, Alice Maxwell of Ione, California and his son-in-law, Gary Steimel of Eagle Center, Iowa.
Max was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Patricia Steimel; a granddaughter, Amber Steimel, and two sisters, Albertta Gregory and Barbara Mixdorf.
Services: 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2000 at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Falls. A memorial fund will be established at a later date.

DIEKEN, FLORENCE IDA, 85, of 420 E. 11th St., Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Sunday, July 9, at the Cedar Falls Western Home of natural causes. She was born September 1, 1914, in Baxter Springs, Kansas, the daughter of William E. and Lulu (Hall) Stoskopf. She married the Rev. Richard J. Dieken on July 23, 1940, in Baldwin, Kansas. He preceded her in death on April 27, 1979. Florence received her bachelor’s degree from Pittsburg State College in Pittsburg, Kansas, and taught school in Baxter Springs, Kansas. She was past president in 1963 and a 50-year member of the KL Chapter of the PEO in Cedar Falls.
She is survived by three sons, Jerl and his wife Judy, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Alan and his wife Mary, of Oakdale, Minnesota, and Gene and his wife Lisa Dale Norton, of Manzanita, Oregon; five grandchildren, Jodi and Jeff Dieken, and Scott, David and Ryan Dieken; a great-granddaughter, Jessica Dieken; three brothers, William Stoskopf of Kansas City, Kansas, Alva Stoskopf of Eldorado, Kansas and Herbert Stoskopf of Peoria, Illinois, and a sister, Mary Stoskopf of Shawnee Mission, Kansas.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers, Eldon, Roy and Paul Stoskopf.
Memorial services were 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls, with private burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church, 2015 Rainbow Dr., Cedar Falls, Iowa 50613.

DIEKEN, JERL D., was born March 11, 1944 in Clarinda, Iowa, the son of the Rev. Richard J. and Florence Ida (Stoskopf) Dieken. He married Judy Kelly on April 19, 1969 in Estherville, Iowa. Jerl served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a sales representative for many years. He died Wednesday, December 20, 2000, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, at 56 years of age.
Jerl is survived by his wife Judy, of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Jodi Dieken and a son, Jeff Dieken and his wife Carrie, all of Cedar Falls; a granddaughter, Jessica of Huntsville, Alabama; two brothers, Alan P. Dieken and his wife Mary of Oakdale, Minnesota and Gene E. Dieken and his wife Lisa Dale Norton of Manzanita, Oregon, and three nephews, Scott, David and Ryan Dieken.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2000, at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church with inurnment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the church.

DILLON, THEODORA, "Dora" was born March 16, 1906 at Rockwell, Iowa the daughter of Gabriel and Martha (Klawin) Ziegler. She married Roland Kammeier on December 21, 1925 at Mason City, Iowa. She married Byron Dillon October 4, 1980 at Cedar Falls, Iowa. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1991. Dora graduated from Hamilton’s Business College in Mason City and was then employed as a secretary with the Studebaker Co. in South Bend, Indiana and later with Central National Bank in Des Moines, Iowa. She died Saturday, June 19, 1999 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home at the age of 93 years.
Survivors include her son, Roland Kammeier and his wife, Nancy, of Rocky River, Ohio; her daughter, Virginia Lechelt and her husband, Merrill, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; four grandchildren, David Lechelt, Dianne Saak, Curtis Kammeier, Katie Preece; eight great-grandchildren, Jennifer Huckbody, Katie Steinke, Evan Preece, Madeline Preece, Lindsey Kammeier, Kristen Kammeier, Heather Lechelt, Tristan Lechelt; and two great-great-grandchildren, Collin Huckbody and Simon Steinke. Dora was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Ziegler and four sisters, Elsie Harrenstein, Elinora Dirks, Rosena Voelk, and Hazel Bless.
Funeral services were 10:00 a.m.Tuesday, June 22, 1999 at the Lutheran Home Chapel with burial in Barnes City Cemetery, Barnes City, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the Lutheran Home.

DIX, KAREN R. , 83, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Friday, August 27, 2004, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center in Cedar Falls. Karen was born March 24, 1921 in Grundy Center, Iowa, the daughter of Rudolf and Louise (Johnson) Claassen. She married Fred E. Dix on September 8, 1945 in Waterloo, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1986. Karen was a graduate of Grundy Center High School and was a secretary for the DX Oil Company, the Waterloo School District and The University of Northern Iowa. She and her husband Fred enjoyed dancing and attended many dances at the Waterloo Elk’s Club. Karen also was an avid reader.
Karen is survived by a step-son, Donald A. Dix of Naperville, Illinois; many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren; and a step-sister, Marcia Sego of Otho, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; a step-son, Fred E. Dix, Jr. and a step-grandson, Michael J. Dix.
Funeral services were 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with intermenty at Garden of Memories, Waterloo, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Falls Public Library.

DORN, LUCILLE E. was born on October 12, 1917 in Denver, Iowa the daughter of Louis and Bertha (Matthias) Volker. She married Joseph B. Dorn on June 5, 1937 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Maxfield. He preceded her in death on December 21, 1971. She died on Friday, September 4, 1998 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa at 80 years of age.
Lucille is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two sisters, Lorna Brandt and Florene DeVries.
Services were held on September 8, 1998 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, with burial at Garden of Memories in Waterloo, Iowa.

DOVE, BRADY DALLAS , 5, of Dike, Iowa, died Wednesday, February 11, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa, after a courageous battle with neuroblastoma cancer. He was born December 16, 1998 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Byron and Laura (Bruhn) Dove.
Brady is survived by his parents; a brother, Matthew and two sisters, Ashtyn and Carlee, all living at home; paternal grandparents, Mary Lee and Dallas Dove; maternal grandfather, Larry Bruhn; aunts and uncles, David and Kathryn Bruhn, Jeremiah and Jennifer Lehr, Brent and Burnette Dove and Steve and Marlas Latwesen; and nine cousins, Kelsey, Sydney and Parker Latwesen, Hanah and Madison Dove, Taylor and Haley Lehr and Brandon and Kevin Bruhn.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Carol Bruhn.
Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2004, at Orchard Hill Church in Cedar Falls, with burial at Fredsville Lutheran Cemetery, rural Cedar Falls. Dove, Keith R., age 63 passed away Friday May 7, 2004 at Sartori Memorial Hospital after a long and courageous battle with heart disease. He was born December 9, 1940, the son of George and Maud (Stirling) Dove. Keith was a lifelong resident of New Hartford and graduated from New Hartford High School in 1958. He enlisted in the Army for 3 years serving mainly in Germany. He was united in marriage to Kay (Eilers) Dove on July 10, 1965 in Oelwein, Iowa. Before retiring on June 1, 2003 he was employed at Viking Pump for 38 years.
Survivors include: His wife, four daughters, Kelly (Mike) Callan of Westgate, Iowa, Karen Schipper of Belleville, Illinois, Kristi (Dave) Myers of Lewisville, Texas and Kerri (Dan) MacDonald of Gainesville, Texas. Two grandchildren, Derek and Morgan Schipper of Illinois. One brother Dallas (Marylee) of New Hartford and two sisters, Winifred Clayton of Cedar Falls, and Donna May of Rogers, Arkansas.
Visitation was Monday, May 10, 2004 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. No formal services were held other than a private family inurnment. Memorials will be established.

DOWNS, RAYMOND TURNER was born on June 26, 1919 in Hopkinton, Iowa the son of John and Opal (Turner) Downs. On March 16, 1946 he was united in marriage to Mary Senosk in Hopkinton. She preceded him in death on June 2, 1978. Raymond served in the U. S. Army and was later employed as a pipefitter at John Deere for 32 years retiring in 1981. He died on Thursday, December 31, 1998 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, Iowa at 79 years of age.
Raymond is survived by six sons, David of Reno, Nevada, Gary and Mike, both of Waterloo, Iowa, Pete of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Tim of Shell Rock, Iowa and John of Chandler, Arizona; three daughters, Rosemary Lamphier of Oelwein, Iowa, Joyce Bowes of Waterloo, Iowa and Nancy Langrehr of Kingman, Kansas, eighteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two sisters, Helen Flannagan and Hazel Downs.
Memorial services were held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 4, 1999 at the Dahl-Van Hove- Schoof Funeral home with inurnment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens in Cedar Falls. A memorial fund has been established.

DRALLE, MARGRET was born June 21, 1929 in Verden a/d Aller, Niedersachsen, Germany the daughter of Friedrich "Fritz" and Johanna (Wolters) Siedenberg. She married Virgil Louis Dralle on October 17, 1953 in the Verden Lutheran Dom, Verden a/d Aller, Niedensachen, Germany. Margret was manager at Hancock Fabrics retiring in June of 1995 after 23 years of employment. She died Tuesday, December 15, 1998 at her home at the age of 69 years.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; two sons, Kurt Dralle and Erik Dralle both of Waterloo, Iowa; three daughters, Kirsten Dralle of Waterloo, Iowa, Sigrid Dralle-Allen of Waterloo, Wisconsin, and Barbara Dralle-Suci of Bozeman, Montana; and four grandchildren, Hannah Dralle-Allen, Aron Dralle-Suci, Cale Dralle-Allen, and Lester Dralle-Suci. Margret was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 18, 1998 at St. John Lutheran Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. A memorial fund will be established.

DREESMAN, MABEL H. was born February 15, 1913, in Lincoln Township, Grundy County, Iowa, the daughter of Harm and Emma Dorthea (Flater) Buskohl. She married Edwin Dreesman on December 14, 1932, at Colfax Center Church in Grundy County, Iowa. He preceded her in death on July 10, 1997. Mabel died Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, at 88 years of age.
She is survived by her three grandchildren, Kimberly L. Prasad, Thomas L. Dreesman and Andrea B. Gaidousek; two great-grandchildren, Devin and Noah Prasad; her daughter-in-law, Carter Dreesman; three sisters-in-law and many cousins.
Mabel was preceded in death by her husband and parents; her son, Gordon Dreesman and a sister, Mary Buskohl, who died in infancy.
Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Stout Reformed Church, Stout, Iowa, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center, Iowa. A memorial fund will be established.
