Daniel H. Tudehope
Daniel Henry Tudehope, 83, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 3 p.m. today at Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. William H. Steward officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Mr. Tudehope was born May 9, 1915, in Rodney, Iowa, the son of Charles and Rosa (Lemmon) Tudehope. He moved with his family to Sioux City and graduated from East High School in 1933. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater, where he received the Bronze Star Medal.

He married Adah Mae Rasmussen on April 4, 1948, in Sioux City. He was employed as a postman with the U.S. Post Office for over 34 years.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 697 and Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed playing chess.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Patricia and John Ewers of Castro Valley, Calif.; a son, Jim of Valdez, Alaska.; and two grandchildren, Danny and Evie Ewers.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Augusta Waechter.

Hazel I. Broyer
Hazel Ida Broyer, 97, formerly of Sioux City died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, in Minneapolis, Minn. after suffering from Alzheimer's disease.

The body was cremated. Burial will be in Sioux City.

Mrs. Broyer is survived by a son and his wife, Judd L. and Marian M. Broyer of Minnetrista, Minn.; two daughters-in-law, Rose Morrill of Sacramento, Calif., and Lynn Broyer of Olathe, Kan.; seven grandchildren, Susan Hendricks, Judy Crews, Oscar Broyer IV, Marsha and Steven Broyer, Renee Schmidt and Douglas Broyer; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar F. Broyer; and a son, Oscar R. Broyer.

Dr. Cecil Cunningham
Dr. Cecil G. Cunningham, 73, of Sioux City died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998, at a Sioux Falls hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. A.T. Washington officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Dr. Cunningham was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Lamoni, Iowa, the son of Floyd and Lena (Fielder) Cunningham. He attended Grandview College and Drake University, both in Des Moines. He graduated from Kansas City College of Osteopathy and Surgery in 1957.

He married Gloria Balsly in 1959, in Kansas City, Mo. He practiced medicine in Sioux City since 1965, in the Morningside area. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1945.

He was a member of American Academy Osteopathic Surgeons, Iowa Society Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, American Medical Association, Iowa Medical Association, Woodbury County Medical Association, Sioux City Chamber of Commerce, Tyrian Lodge 508 A.F. & A.M., Sioux City Scottish Rite Bodies and Abu Bekr Shrine. He served as a ring physician for Amateur Boxing for 15 years and participated in Siouxland Antique Auto Show.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Cecil F. of Wichita, Kan., and Scott A. and his wife, Jennifer, of Thurston, Neb.; two daughters, Sheryl Cochnauer and Laura E. and her husband, Fred Griffin, all of Sioux City; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harvey L. Moore.

Marvin N. Harris
Marvin N. Harris, 80, of South Sioux City died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at a South Sioux City nursing home from complications of Parkinson Disease.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dale Jirousek officiating. Burial will be in Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 8:30 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.

Mr. Harris was born May 8, 1918, in Emerson, Neb., the son of Fredwin N. and Violet S. (Hassing) Harris. He graduated from Emerson High School in 1935. He was employed with Council Oak Stores in South Sioux City and Sioux City.

He married Beverly A. Mosher on Oct. 13, 1940, in South Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and returned from Okinawa in January 1946. He was then employed with A & P Store and Roberts Dairy. He was the owner and operator of Quality Mobil Home Supplies for many years, retiring in November 1997.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church, and served on the church council, the foundation board and the church choir. He was a former member of South Sioux City Rotary Club, served on the City Planning and Zoning board and was an original member of Simco board of directors.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Nile and Ruth of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Scott and Charlene of Sioux Falls, S.D.; three daughters, Sandra and her husband, Roy Rymill, of Spring Hill, Kan., Suzanne Harris of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Kristine Bengford of South Sioux City; a sister, Opal Mosher of Norfolk, Neb.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Utemark.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Paul Bengford, Andrew and Matthew Rymill, Jason, Joshua and Timothy Harris.

Memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church or Parkinson Foundation.

Mae P. Lewis
Mae P. Trobaugh Lewis, 100, of Sioux City died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at a Sioux City retirement home.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Riverside Lutheran Church, with the Rev. A. Pete Petersen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. today at Berkemier Funeral Home. Visitation will resume 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the church.

Mrs. Lewis was born June 6, 1898, in Mohawk, Tenn., the daughter of James and Melvina (Cobble) Crittenden. She moved to Sioux City in 1916.

She married Roy Trobaugh on July 14, 1917. The couple lived in Hinton, Iowa. They moved to Sioux City in 1923. He died in 1955. She married Charles Lewis in Jan. 18, 1964. He died in 1977.

She was a member of Riverside Lutheran Church and Riverside Senior Citizens.

Survivors include eight daughters, Genevieve Frazee of Fridley, Minn., Clara and her husband, Stan Hill, Norma and her husband, Sterling McInnis, Katherine Nelson, Susan and her husband, Fred Paugh, and Roberta and her husband, Bennie Whitlock, all of Sioux City, Millie and her husband, William Hogan, of North Sioux City, and Maryetta and her husband, Keith Seaton, of Whiting, Iowa; five sons and their wives, Bruce and Ester Trobaugh, Dennis and Vivian Trobaugh and Jerry and Debbie Trobaugh, all of Sioux City, Roy and Isabel Trobaugh of Elk Point, S.D., and William and Irma Trobaugh of Centralia, Wash.; 58 grandchildren; 113 great-grandchildren; 61 great-great-grandchildren; and eight stepchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Gilkison; a son, Ernest Trobaugh; and a daughter-in-law, Audry Trobaugh.

Pallbearers will be Tom, Joe and John Lillie, Terry Keleher, Jeff and Mike Paugh, Allen and Dale Whitlock.

Delphine R. Doney
Delphine "Della" R. Doney, 59, of Sioux City died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be 5 p.m. today at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Daniel Titus officiating. Graveside services will be at a later date. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel.

Mrs. Doney was born April 16, 1939, in Greenwood, S.D., the daughter of Luverne and Zelda (Packard) Selwyn Sr. She attended Cheyenne River Boarding School.

She married Arnold D. Lekrkamp on Dec. 28, 1958, in Sioux Falls, S.D. The couple moved to Butte, Mont., where she continued her education. They lived in Montana for 15 years. She later married Robert J. Doney on Jan. 25, 1975, in Yankton, S.D. The couple later moved to Wagner, S.D., and then to Sioux City.

She attended the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Loretta Heights Womens College, Denver, Colo., and Dakota Weselyn University, Mitchell, S.D.

She was employed as a registered nurse in the states of Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa for 24 years, retiring in 1991. She was involved in many Native American Indian Federal and tribal programs in these states. She served on many community boards as an advocate for the Native American Indian. She was also a Vista Volunteer from 1968 to 1970.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Episcopal faith. She later became a member of the Lutheran church, then returned to Episcopal faith.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Bradford K. Lehrkamp and Les Lehrkamp and his wife, Deb, all of Sioux City and Alan Lehrkamp and his wife, Christina, of Helena, Mont.; two daughters, Lenore and her husband, Mike Menth, of Helena and Donna D. Crom of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three brothers, Merwyn James Selwyn of Sioux Falls, Luverne Selwyn Jr. and Todd Selwyn and his wife, Nadine, all of Wagner; and four sisters, Georgette and her husband, Francis Boyer, of Billings, Mont., Carol Anderson of Sheridan, Wyo., Marion and her husband, Jim Jones, of Rapid City, S.D., and Lois Stock of Yankton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, a sister and two grandchildren.

John Wendt
John "George" Wendt, 91, of Sioux City died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, at Akron Care Center at Akron, Iowa.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Thomas A. Schoen, S.M. officiating. Burial will be in Calvary at South Creek, rural Ponca, Neb. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a Scriptural wake service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Wendt was born Feb. 1, 1907, in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Christian D. and Laurinda (Hamilton) Wendt. He attended grade school in Moosomin, Saskatchewan, Canada and graduated from Le Mars High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he received the Purple Heart Medal.

He married Marie T. Schoen on Dec. 27, 1945, in Sioux City. He had been a resident of Sioux City for 67 years. He was employed with Robert's Dairy Co. for 37 years, retiring as foreman in 1973.

He was a member of Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include his wife and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle; and four brothers, Roy, Edwin, Chris and Ralph.

Shannon T. Dickes
Shannon T. Dickes, 24, of South Sioux City died Monday at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the funeral home.

Robert Kincaid Jr.
Robert W. "Bob" Kincaid Jr., 52, of North Sioux City died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at his residence.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Susan Miller, chaplain of Hospice of Siouxland, officiating. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Kincaid was born Jan. 7, 1946, in Sioux City, the son of Robert and Marjorie (Irwin) Kincaid Sr. He graduated from Western Iowa Tech Community College with a degree in computer programing. He served six years in the U.S. Navy, stationed aboard the USS Hornet.

He married Ann Lynott on Nov. 26, 1968, in North Sioux City. He was employed as a computer software analyst for IBP for over 15 years.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Wesley and Tonya of Sioux City; his mother of Castana, Iowa; a brother, Harry of Akron, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Pallbearers will be Roger Schwartz, Dick Sharp, Bob Bock, Bob Dooley, Randy Pojar and Doug Clough.

George B. Taylor
George B. Taylor, 83, of Sioux City died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Rev. Robert J. Schimmer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 9 p.m., a rosary at 7:30 p.m. and a vigil service at 8 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mr. Taylor was born Dec. 18, 1915, in Sioux City, the son of Frank and Clara (Geeron) Taylor. He graduated from East High School.

He married Marian F. Emery on April 16, 1938, in Elk Point, S.D. She died Oct. 7, 1967, in Sioux City. He was employed with the City of Sioux City as a meter repairman in the water department for 30 years. He retired in 1980.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Jeannie and Clyde Sells of Howenwald, Tenn.; two sons, Dan and his wife, Susan, and Francis, all of Sioux City; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth DeCarlo of Chicago, Ill.; and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy and her husband, Ed Langley, and Rita Taylor, all of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by a son, Terry; five brothers, Francis, Johnny, Bill, Jimmy and Alvin; and two sisters, Marie Johnson and Margaret Goodier.

Memorial in his name may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Queen of Peace.

Harriette C. Rehwoldt
Harriette Claire (Coon) Rehwoldt, 81, formerly of Sioux City died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998, in Sioux City following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Krishen Persaud officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Christy-Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rehwoldt was born Jan. 28, 1917, in Winnebago, Neb., the daughter of Rhodes J. and Genevieve Charlotte (Draper) Taylor. She was raised in the Siouxland area.

She married Wayne Wesley Coon on July 4, 1932. He died Sept. 20, 1956. She moved to Oregon in 1962. She married Herm Rehwoldt on July 3, 1967. He died May 28, 1998. She returned to Sioux City on Dec. 15, 1998. She was employed as an office manager with North Bend, Ore. water board.

She was a former member of St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, a past president of Women of St. Luke Lutheran Church and a member of Order of the Eastern Star Rose Croix.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Ronald and Jean Coon and Jan and Charlotte Coon, all of Sioux City and Michael and Linda Coon of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a daughter and her husband, Janet and David Adam of Sioux City; a brother, Robert Taylor of Ponca, Neb.; a sister, Vira Williams of Kennewick, Wash.; Diane and Cliff Rehwoldt of Gresham, Ore.; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Martin; and four brothers, Charles, Earl, Gary and Jerry Taylor.

Pallbearers will be Jan G. Coon, Mark and Mike Adam, Tim Merchant, Eric Norton and Steve Treinen.

ROCK VALLEY, Iowa - Harriet "Hattie" DeJong, 90, of Rock Valley died Sunday at the Valley Manor in Rock Valley.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery. Visitation will be today at the funeral home. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

ROCK VALLEY, Iowa - Joe Wolfswinkel, 90, of Rock Valley died Sunday at Valley Manor in Rock Valley.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Carmel Reformed Church in Carmel, Iowa. Burial will be in Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Geraldine Lockhorst
HAWARDEN, Iowa - Geraldine "Geri" Lockhorst, 56, of Hawarden died suddenly Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998, at Hawarden Community Hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at American Lutheran Church in Hawarden, with the Rev. Jeff Swanson officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden.

Mrs. Lockhorst was born July 17, 1942, near Chatsworth, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Leone (Muth) Utesch. She graduated from West Sioux High School in 1960.

She married Melvin McKee in 1960, in Hawarden. She was employed with the Chevrolet Dealership and later at LG Everist. She attended Sioux Empire College in Hawarden and graduated from Briar Cliff College in Sioux City in 1978. She later taught accounting courses at Sioux Empire College.

She married Paul Lockhorst on Aug. 11, 1978, near Hawarden. She was employed at Bondersons in Hawarden and then with Northwest Implement in Orange City, Iowa for 13 years.

She was a member of American Lutheran Church and was active with Alateen and Alanon.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Tom McKee and his special friend, Darla Jacob, of Beresford, S.D., and Bill McKee and his wife, Gina, of Tulsa, Okla.; three daughters, Mary Toben Green and her husband, Perry, of Sioux City, Wendy Steuck of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Jennifer Lockhorst of Ireton, Iowa; a brother and his wife, Jim and Jan Utesch of Le Mars, Iowa; a sister and her husband, Judy and Wendell Zoeller of Ireton; 12 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Elsie A. Johnson
ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa - Elsie Alvina Johnson, 88, of Rock Rapids died Monday at Lyon Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rock Rapids.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Alvord, Iowa. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Roste Funeral Home in Rock Rapids.

Arnold Onderstal
ALLEN, Neb. - Arnold Onderstal, 64, of Allen died Sunday at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann Catholic Church in Dixon, Neb. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery, rural Allen. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. today at Bressler-Humlicek Funeral Home in Wakefield, Neb.

Bernice Ellsworth
MILFORD, Iowa - Bernice "B" Ellsworth, 75, of Milford died Sunday at Milford Care Center.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Congregational Church in Spencer, Iowa. Burial will be in Memorial Garden Cemetery, Spirit Lake, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today, with the family present 4 to 7 p.m., at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.

Clarence R. Livingston
ELK POINT, S.D. - Clarence Robert "Tink" Livingston, 80, of Elk Point died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998, at his residence.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Anderson Funeral Home in Elk Point, with the Rev. Dan Lozer officiating. Burial will be in Elk Point Cemetery, with military rites. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today, with the family present at 7 p.m. and a Masonic service after 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Livingston was born April 29, 1918, in Elk Point. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, making four beachhead landings, and the National Guard.

He married Ruth Jones on Oct. 16, 1947, in Mitchell, S.D. He owned and operated Livingdton Oil until retiring.

He was a member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War, both of Elk Point and the Masons.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters and their husbands, Debra and Donadl Gray of Omaha, Neb., and Linda and Paul Badding of Avon, Minn.; a son and his wife, Craig and Sandy of Burbank, S.D.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dora Montagne of Jefferson, S.D., and Grace Spain of Elk Point.

Raymond B. Christenson
ROYAL, Iowa - Raymond B. Christenson, 88, of Spencer, Iowa, formerly of Royal, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at Spencer Municipal Hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal, with the Rev. David Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Willow Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. today, with the family present from 4 to 7 p.m., at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.

Mr. Christenson was born June 13, 1910, near Royal, the son of Hans and Thora (Beck) Christenson. He attended Willow Creek School and helped on the family farm. He graduated from Royal High School and Mankato Commerical College in Mankato, Minn.

He married Helen Danielson on Nov. 26, 1937, in Marathon, Iowa. They moved to a farm near Royal. He retired in 1987 and continued to lived on the farm until 1991, when they moved to Spencer. He entered St. Luke's Lutheran Home in 1995.

He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where he served as president of the church council. He was active in the Republican Party and a member of Iowa Farm Bureau. He also served on Peterson Elevator board. He was a member of Clay County Cattleman and president of the Clay County Livestock Feeders. He was instrumental in getting the county organization affiliated with the National Livestock Feeders Association. He was named Clay County Cattleman of the Year in 1979.

Survivors include two daughters, Jean Christenson of Whitley City, Ky., and Nancy and her husband, Floyd Romslo, of Minneapolis, Minn., and Royal; a brother and his wife, Curtis and Hazel of Spencer; and a sister, Corinne Miller of Buffalo Center, Iowa.

He was preceded his wife; a brother, Herbert; and a sister, Amy.

Gilbert C. Wictor
REMSEN, Iowa - Gilbert C. Wictor, 91, of Remsen died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, at Happy Siesta Health Center in Remsen.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen, with the Rev. Thomas J. Hart officiating and Deacon Allan Weiler assisting. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a parish rosary at 3 p.m., a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and a Catholic Order of Foresters rosary at 8 p.m., at Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen.

Mr. Wictor was born July 10, 1907, in Remsen, the son of Joseph and Antoinette (Lenertz) Wictor. He was raised and educated in Remsen, graduating from St. Mary's High School in 1925. He then attended St. John's University in Collegetown, Minn. He returned to Remsen and helped operate Wictor Hardware Store.

He married Gertrude M. Seggerman on Sept. 13, 1938, in Remsen. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1944 to 1945. He returned to Remsen and helped operated the Wictor Hardware Store for 40 years. He established Remsen Bottle Gas Co., which he operated fro 25 years. She died June 24, 1993. He entered Happy Siesta in March 1997.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Catholic Order of Foresters and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3328.
