Harold J. Richardson, 72, of Sioux City died Wednesday at his residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Augustana Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at the Christy-Smith Funeral Home.

Gladys Fern Tucker
Gladys Fern Tucker, 90, Bolingbrook, Ill., formerly of Macomb, Ill., died Friday at Meadowbrook Manor in Bolingbrook.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Good Hope Cemetery in Good Hope, Ill. Visitation will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb.

Roscoe A. Wilkinson
Roscoe A. "Rusty" Wilkinson, 84, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998 at a Sioux City hospital.

The body was cremated. There will be no services or visitation. There will be a private burial in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wilkinson was born May 12, 1914 in Clarksburg, Ind., the son of John and Effie Wilkinson. He graduated from Storm Lake High School. He was a mechanic by trade.

He married Gertrude M. "Sunny" Reynolds on Aug. 2, 1941 in Sioux City. He was in the United States Army during World War II. He was a jet mechanic, working on P-51 "Mustangs" and B-47's. He returned to the Army during the Korean War and served until 1952.

Survivors include his wife of Sioux City.

Donald M. Meade, 80, of South Sioux City, died Friday; Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.

Desmond (P.) Riley
Desmond (P.) Riley, 92, of Sioux City died Friday; Nelson Berger Morningside Chapel.

Kenneth Baker
WAKEFIELD, Neb. - Kenneth Baker, 84, of Wakefield died Friday at the Providence Medical Center in Wayne, Neb.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Saint John's Lutheran Church in Wakefield. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., in the Bressler-Hunlicek Funeral Home in Wakefield.

Betty Wilma Diamond
ANTHON, Iowa - Betty Wilma Diamond, 75, of Anthon died Friday at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Anthon United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Anthon. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. followed by an American Legion Auxilliary service, at the Armstron Funeral Home in Anthon.

Alvin L. Freemont
MACY, Neb. - Alvin L. Freemont, 52, of Minneapolis, Minn. died Wednesday at his residence.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Alfred Gilpin Center in Macy. Visitation will be at the home of Margaret Freemont in Macy from today until early Sunday morning.

Walter Husted
UTE, Iowa - Walter Husted, 90, died Monday, Nov. 30, 1998 at his home.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Ute with Pastor Ken Baughman officiating.

Mr. Husted was born Dec. 9, 1907 in rural Plymouth County near Merrill, Iowa, the son of George and Martha (Fletcher) Husted.

He married Violet Lindsey on April 28, 1940 in Sioux City. She died in 1970.

He married Gladys (Swenson) Olson in 1975.

He lived in the Hinton-Le Mars area where he worked for a Sioux City trucking firm. He later moved to Battle Creek, Iowa and then to Soldier where he farmed for over 40 years. He also lived in Turin, Mapleton and Onawa. He moved to Ute in March 1998.

He was a member of the Onawa United Methodist Church where he served on the Church Advisory Board, the United Methodist Men and was a former member of the Masonic Lodge of Battle Creek.

Survivors include one brother, Wesley of Battle Creek; two daughters and their husbands, Valerie and Gary Timm of Ute, Iowa and Janet and Clinton Kraft of Olathe, Kan.; three grandchildren, Larry Timm and his wife Sharlene of Carroll, Iowa, Lana (Timm) and Charlie Hookham of Ute and Lindsey Kraft of Olathe; four great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Jirami Hookham and Aaron and Allison Timm and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two wives, five brothers and four sisters.

Memorials may be directed to the Onawa United Methodist Church or the Ute Ambulance Service.

Delores I. Krueger
DENISON, Iowa - Delores I. Krueger, 70, of Denison died Thursday at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the United Presbyterian Church in Denison. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Denison. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today at the Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison.

Daryl C. Liston
IRETON, Iowa - Daryl C. Liston, 77, of Sherburn, Minn. and Welcome, Minn., formerly of Hawarden, Iowa and Ireton, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998 at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Truman, Minn.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ireton with the Rev. John Doolittle officiating. Burial will be at Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden. Visitation will be 7:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden.

Mr. Liston was born April 17, 1920 in Plymouth County, Iowa, the son of Orlin and Effie (Jones) Liston. He attended school in Hawarden. He enlisted in the United States Navy on Dec. 8, 1941. He served on the USS Vincennes. He was awarded the order of Purple Heart. He left the service in 1945 and returned to Hawarden.

He married Betty Hove on Aug. 22, 1947 in Sioux County. She died Feb. 12, 1969.

He married Wilma Westergard Degen at Sioux Falls, S.D. on Jan. 2, 1974. They moved to Welcome where he was employed in construction at L & H Grain Company. They moved to Sherburn in 1982 where he later became manager of L & H Grain Company. He then was employed at Griese Construction in Dolliver, Iowa until 1995 when he retired. He had been a resident of Trimont Health Care Center and Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont. He has been a resident of the Lutheran Retirement Home since Nov. 20, 1997.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ireton and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. He was a member of the Sherburn Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8261, where he served on its rifle squad and the Welcome American Legion Post 553. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and carpentry.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Greg Liston and his wife Jolene of Ireton, Jerry Liston of Trimont, Minn., Mark Degen and his wife Julie and Todd Degen and his wife Linda all of Ireton; two daughters, Donna Schwiesow of Ireton and Barb and her husband Jeff Marienau of Sheldon, Iowa; five brothers, Lee and Dick and his wife Judy, all of Hawarden, Wesley and his wife Barb of Lovilia, Iowa, Norman and his wife Karen of St. Paul, Minn. and James and his wife Karen of Kennedale, Texas; five sisters, Myra Heuer of Rock Valley, Iowa, Neva Busch and her husband Bud, Darlene Rummel and Cindy McKee Holmberg all of Hawarden, Betty Gronemeyer and her husband Lloyd of Arnolds Park, Iowa; two sister-in-laws, Dianna of Alcester, Iowa and Viola of Hawarden; 14 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Lloyd, Duane, Lawrence, Roger and Howard and one sister, Vivian.

J. Travis Long
HUBBARD, Neb. - J. Travis Long, 42, of Hubbard died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998 at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Cornerstone Faith Center in Sioux City with the Rev. Larry Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery, rural Homer, Neb. Visitation will be 1 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, with the family present after 6:30 p.m., at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.

Mr. Long was born June 13, 1956 in Sioux City, the son of James P. and Bonnie J. (Mayhew) Long. He graduated from South Sioux City High School. He was employed as a commercial carpenter.

He married Pam Geveshausen.

He later married Tami Galvin.

He attended Cornerstone Faith Center and enjoyed wood working, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include two sons, Adam of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Nicholas of McCook Lake, S.D.; one daughter, Cassandra Long of McCook Lake; his mother, Bonnie McAlpin of Midlothian, Texas; one brother, Kenneth and his wife Linda of Homer, Neb. and two sisters, Tracy Long of Dallas, Texas and Carol Long of Denton, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Pallbearers will be Brett Thacker, Randy Evjen, Dennis Abbott, Scott Chase, Scott Cooper and Jerry Gugat.

Helen Paulsen
ANTHON, Iowa - Helen Paulsen, 86, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998 at the Correctionville Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon with Pastor Kent Kastler officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Anthon. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Paulsen was born July 20, 1912 in Anthon, the daughter of Isaac and Josex (Beeson) Hinds.

She married John Paulsen at Dakota City, Neb. on July 27, 1932. They farmed in the Anthon area. She moved from the farm into Anthon in 1972. She entered Matney's Nursing Home in Sioux City in 1990 and transferred to the Correctionville nursing home in 1974.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Anthon and also served on the United Methodist Women.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, John and Norma of Climbing Hill, Iowa and Donald and Margie of Anthon; one daughter, Mary Sparks of Sioux City; five grandchildren, Donald Paulsen Jr., Dennis Paulsen and Staci, Stefanie and Kurt Sparks and other relative.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, Willie, Tye and Tom and one sister, Erma.

Clarence Pluth
MAPLETON, Iowa - Clarence Pluth, 83, of Mapleton died Thursday at Horn Memorial Hospital.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ida Grove Cemetery. Christensen-Ciha Funeral Home in Battle Creek is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.

Theresa Promes
WYNOT, Neb. - Theresa Elizabeth Promes, 95, of Wynot died Thursday at Sister James Nursing Home in Yankton, S.D.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Saints Philip and James Catholic Church in St. James, Neb. Burial will be in the Saints Philip and James Cemetery in St. James. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with a 2 p.m. rosary and a 7:30 p.m. vigil service, at Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Visitation will also begin 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church.

Jake Sinkey
IRETON, Iowa - Jake Sinkey, 89, of Hawarden, Iowa, formerly of Ireton, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Christian Reformed Church in Ireton, with the Rev. John Engbers officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, with the family present 5 to 6:30 p.m., at Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Ireton.

Mr. Sinkey was born Oct. 4, 1909, near Ireton, the son of William and Nellie (Wiersma) Sinkey.

He married Reka Vande Kieft on Oct. 5, 1930, in Ireton. He began a garage business in Craig, Iowa, living there for over a year, before moving to Ireton. He acquired the Studebaker franchise in 1940, and operated that until 1953. He then sold the Chrysler line of vehicles, selling and retiring in 1978.

He was a member of Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Arthur of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two daughters and their husbands, Wanda and Melvin Cooke of Ada, Mich., and Nelma and James De Bauche of Sioux City; a brother, Bill of Sanborn, Iowa; three sisters, Jo Riepma and her husband, Ted, of Sioux Center, Iowa, Bertha Peters and her husband, Clarence, of Orange City, Iowa, and Minnie Eisma of Ireton; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Lorna Sinkey; and two brothers, Peter and Frank.

Clarence A. Voss
EMERSON, Neb. - Clarence A. Voss, 85, of Emerson died Friday at the Pender Community Hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Emerson. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Emerson.
