Stanley Gorski
DALZELL -- Stanley "Pete" Gorski, 97, formerly of Dalzell, lately of St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon, died at 3:50 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at the nursing home.
Born March 6, 1907, in LaSalle to Jacob and Frances (Szymanski) Gorski, he married Emma Lishewski Sept. 4, 1932, in Oregon, Ill. She died Feb. 24, 1992.
He had worked at Westclox in Peru for 49 years before retiring.
He was a member of the Westclox Quarter Century Club, St. Valentine Church in Peru and St. Thomas More Church in Dalzell.
Survivors include two sons, Gerald (Mary Jane) Gorski of McNabb and Wayne (Rita) Gorski of Anaheim Hills, Calif.; nine grandchildren; three stepgrandsons; and five great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Valentine Catholic Church, Peru, with the Rev. Philip Davey, O.S.B., officiating, and the Revs. Thomas Badovsky and Patrick Fennell, O.S.B., as concelebrants. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, LaSalle.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the church.

Richard Gross
KEWANEE -- Richard A. "Dick" Gross, 61, of Kewanee died at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer, at his home.
Born Dec. 24, 1942, in Princeton to Fred and Cleona (Pierson) Gross, he married Barbara Johnson June 13, 1964, in Princeton. She survives.
He graduated from Princeton High School in 1961 and attended Northern Illinois University. He worked for GTE for 32 years as a service technician and then an outside plant engineer.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Kewanee and the U.S. Trotting Association. He was a volunteer coach in Kewanee for Little League, flag football and elementary basketball. He trained pacers for many years in the Kewanee area and raced them in fairs and in Chicago.
Also surviving are his mother of Princeton; one son, Allen (Melanie) Gross of Overland Park, Kan.; one daughter, Robin (Jim) Stuart of Galesburg; three brothers, Don (Sherry) Gross of Rapid City, Gary (Joy) Gross of Cloverdale, Calif., and Gale Gross of Batavia; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sandy (Gordon) Vickery of Kewanee; four grandchildren, Madison and Ethan Gross, and Morgan and Lindsey Stuart; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1999; his grandparents; and aunts and uncles.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Zion Lutheran Church, Kewanee, with the Rev. Susan Kent officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee, and one hour prior to the services Monday in the church.
Memorials may be directed to PanCan, the Zion Lutheran Church or Kewanee Hospital Hospice.

Connie Underwood
PRINCETON -- Connie Jean Underwood, 58, of 509 W. Wilmot St., Princeton, died at 5:05 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, while on vacation in Panama City, Fla.
Born Sept. 28, 1946, in Decatur to Homer Eugene and Verda Irene (Young) Patterson, she married James W. Underwood March 9, 1963, in Clinton, Ill. He survives.
She was a secretary at St. Louis Catholic School for 12 years. She attended Illiopolis High School.
Survivors include her mother; one son, Timothy (Suzanne) Underwood of Princeton; one daughter, Teri (DJ) Richardson of Princeton; one brother, Kevin (Tami) Patterson of Panama City, Fla.; two sisters, Sharon (Stephen) Bobbit of Belton, Mo., and Pam (Bill) Brown of Hudson; and six grandchildren, Allyx, Timothy, Emily, Matthew, Taylor and Haley.
She was preceded in death by her father and one daughter, Tamara Jean Underwood.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the St. Louis Catholic Church, Princeton, with Father Jeffrey Stirniman officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation was held Friday in the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton.
Memorials may be directed to St. Louis Catholic School.

Leah Bachman
TISKILWA -- Leah Eichelberger Bachman, 102, of Tiskilwa died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at Colonial Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Princeton.
Born Jan. 13, 1902, in Wayland, Iowa, to John and Josephine (Roth) Graber, she married Chris E. Eichelberger Jan. 18, 1923, in Wayland, Iowa. He died June 27, 1948. She married Edward Bachman May 22, 1968, in Tiskilwa. He died Oct. 16, 1980.
She grew up in Wayland, Iowa, where she was a member of the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church. She was baptized there March 7, 1915, at the age of 13. In 1962, she moved to Tiskilwa, where she became a member of the Willow Springs Mennonite Church. She was a homemaker all of her life. She taught Sunday school from her teen years all the way through her senior years. She also taught Bible school for many years. In Wayland, she operated a Bible book store from her home.
Survivors include two daughters, Evalyn (Weldon) Albrecht of Tiskilwa and Gratice (Wilbur) Albrecht of Tiskilwa; one sister, Stella Boshart of Wayland, Iowa; one brother, Alvin Graber of Newton, Kan.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; and stepchildren, stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son, Marvin Charles; four brothers, Peter, Albert, Amos and Wilbert Graber; and five sisters, Emma, Katie, Anna, Lavina and Evalyn.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church, Wayland, Iowa. Burial will be in Sugar Creek Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Wednesday in the church.
Memorials may be directed to the Willow Springs Mennonite Church in Tiskilwa or the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church in Wayland, Iowa.

Gladis Klimaszewski
DEPUE -- Gladis Klimaszewski, 86, of 902 Willow St., DePue, formerly of Spring Valley, died at 3:05 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley.
Born June 20, 1918, in Spring Valley to Thomas and Ollie Mae (McDonald) Fletcher, she married Walter Klimaszewski May 20, 1950, in St. Mary's Church Rectory in DePue. He survives.
She worked at Westclox in Peru during World War II.
She was a member of the DePue First Congregational United Church of Christ, DePue VFW Auxiliary and DePue Booster Club.
Also surviving are two sons, Walter (Valerie) Klimaszewski and Robert Klimaszewski, both of DePue; two grandchildren, Patrick (Dawn) and Mark (Ashley) Klimaszewski; nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Laurie Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Barto Funeral Home, DePue, with Pastor Sue Hamilton, from the DePue First Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park, Spring Valley.
Visitation will be one hour before the services in the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the Hall High School Athletic Parents Club or the DePue First Congregational United Church of Christ.

Vietta Perrizo
WALNUT -- Vietta B. Perrizo, 88, of 108 S. Fourth St., Walnut, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.
Born Nov. 7, 1916, in Walnut to Frederick and Bertha M. (Bollman) Ganschow, she married Arnold Perrizo Dec. 4, 1939, in Davenport, Iowa. He died April 11, 1977.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Walnut Christian Church and CWF at the church. She also was a member of the Walnut Senior Citizens and NOA, where she volunteered for many years, and the Walnut Kitchen Band and the Walnut High School Harmonica Band. She was the Senior Citizens Volunteer of the Year for Bureau County.
Survivors include two sons, Fred (Joanne) Perrizo of Glendale, Ariz., and Ken (Cheryl) Perrizo of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Darren Perrizo of Glendale, Ariz., Deneen (Pete) Manesiotis of Peoria and Traci (Jeff) Czarny of Schaumburg; two great-grandchildren, Brittany and Olivia; four nieces, Glenda Akridge, Melva Carpenter, Rosemary Carpenter and Phyllis Hay; and numerous great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Letha and Iona; and two brothers, Lawrence and Harold.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Garland Funeral Home, Walnut, with the Rev. Robert E. Smith, pastor of the First Christian Church in Walnut, officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Saturday, in the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church in Walnut.

Jane Rinicella
SPRING VALLEY -- Jane Donahue Rinicella, 89, of 113 W. Devlin St., Spring Valley, died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at LaSalle Healthcare Center where she had been a resident for six months.
She was born Aug. 22, 1915, in St. Louis.
She had worked at Hobb's in Spring Valley and operated Baby Jane's Tavern in Spring Valley. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Survivors include one son, Edward (Sue) Donahue of Port Orchard, Wash.; one daughter-in-law, Rosemary (Christopher) Hawkins of LaSalle; one sister, Mary Rinicella of Italy; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Two brothers and one son, Joseph Donahue, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Conception Church in Spring Valley, the Rev. Paul Meismer officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
Mueller and Pagani Funeral Home in LaSalle handled arrangements.
