A funeral service for Lois Ann Crise (nee Sappington), 70, of Palatine, was held in the Rolling Meadows Funeral Home Jan. 25. A private interment followed. Born in Highland Park, she lived in both Arlington Heights and Palatine. She worked for the Northwest Suburban Special Education for over 27 years and was a member of the Palatine women's club and many bridge clubs. Surviving are her husband, Jere; children Traci (Chester) Matysek and Scott (Martha) Crise; grandchildren Nichols, Jennifer Matysek, Natalie and Cynthia Crise; a brother Richard (Betty) Sappington. Memorials are requested to NSSEO Foundation, 799 W. Kensington Rd., Mt. Prospect, IL 60056.

MARY ELLEN GALLAGHER
Of Chicago

A funeral service for Mary Ellen Gallagher nee Byrne, 83, took place on Monday, Jan. 23, at St. Vincent DePaul Church in Chicago. Visitation was at Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge with interment at All Saints cemetery. Mrs. Gallagher died on Jan. 19. She was the beloved wife of Neil Sr. for 60 wonderful years. She was the devoted mother of Tom (Judy), Peggy (Joe), Arp, Mike, Jim (Karen), Neil Jr., Mary Kay (Larry) Aronson, Terry (Joanne), and the late Timmy. Also, the cherished grandmother of Brian, Joe, Courtney, David, Kelly, Melissa, Tim, Danny, Matthew, Molly, and Ryan, the dear great-grandmother of Anna, the loving sister of Jim (Jane) Byrne and the late Cornelius (Dolores), John, and Frank (Joan) Byrne. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Children's Memorial Hospital, Pediatric Care Center, in Chicago. Funeral arrangements were made by Cooney Funeral Home.

MYRTLE HERATY
of Glenview

A funeral mass for Myrtle C. Heraty, nee Markovich, 94, took place on Saturday, Jan. 21 at St. Paul of the Cross Church. Interment was at All Saints cemetery and visitation was Friday, Jan. 20 at Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge. Mrs. Heraty was preceded in death by her husband, Edward P. Heraty. She is survived by her sister, Helen Vandermolen; her nieces Violet Markowitz, Shirley Murphy and Margaret Rabe; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral arrangements were made by Cooney Funeral Home.

RAYMOND HINZE
Of Mt. Prospect

A funeral service for Raymond E. Hinze, 85, took place on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at G.L. Hills Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Interment will be in Memory Gardens cemetery in Arlington Heights. Mr. Hinze was born on Aug. 16, 1020 in Evanston. He was employed as a sheet metal journeyman and owned Black Acre farm and roadside stand for 47 years. He was also on the board of directors of the Cook County Farm Bureau. He died at his home on Jan. 27. He was preceded in death by his brother Harvey (Barbara) and a sister Esther. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Laura (nee Fritz); his children David, Howard (Sharon), Karen (James) Gutzmer and Peggy (James) Refenes; grandchildren Peter, Mark, Kevin, Steven, Matthew, Josh, Rachel, James, Rebecca and Leah; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rainbow Hospice or Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. Funeral arrangements were made by G.L. Hills Funeral Home.

DONALD LEROY KAISER
Of Des Plaines

A funeral service for Donald LeRoy Kaiser, 81, was held Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Ave., Des Plaines. Interment took place in Rock Island National cemetery in Rock Island, Ill. Born April 15, 1924, in Moline, Ill., he passed away Saturday, Jan. 28 in his home. Mr. Kaiser was an industrial chimney inspector, and was a World War II Marine Corps veteran who had been stationed in the Aleutian Islands. He is survived by his wife, Sandy (nee Lipp); sons and daughters, Dana, Mark, Kim, Kevin, Steven, Jeffrey (Kris) and Denise (Jeff); grandchildren, Amy, Travis, Patrick, Mark A., Cati, Jacob, Samantha, Lucas, Marissa and Charlie; and his sisters, Shirley (David) and Marilyn (Byrad). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Toys for Tots. For more information call 847-699-9003.

WALTER C. KRAUSE
Age 80

Arlington Hts. resident Walter C. Krause died Jan. 25 at Lutheran Home For The Aged. He was celebrated with services at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home and Montrose cemetery. Mr. Krause was a switchman for Illinois Bell by trade and a veteran. He belonged to the Moose Lodge, American Legion Post #134 and the Niles Senior Center. Mr. Krause was preceded in death by parents Walter Paul and Ruth (nee Jenke) Krause and grandson Eric. Survivors are wife Dorothy (nee Sinkovitz) Krause; sons Walter Paul (Susan), Thomas, Dee (Cathy Van Alstin) and Jeffrey Scott (Donna); daughter Nancy (John B.) Bello; and grandchildren Brian (Michelle), John, Robert (Erin), Joseph, James, Michael and Mark. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lutheran Home For The Aged, 800 W. ROMAN MADURA
Of Niles

Roman Madura passed away Jan. 23 at the age of 84. The Chicago native was celebrated with services over the weekend at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, St. Isaac Jogues Church and Maryhill cemetery. A truck drive for Cushing & Co. by trade, Mr. Madura had also served in the armed forces. He is preceded in death by parents Stanley and Evan (nee Lechi) Madura. Mr. Madura is survived by wife Jeanette; daughters Phyllis (Paul) Fleskamp, Diane Madura and Donna (David) Okun; grandchildren Paul (Vicki), Matthew (Gwen), Michael and Jennifer; and great-grandchildren Maddie, Drew, Ian and Zach.

VALERIE METELKA
Former Nurse

A funeral mass for Valerie Metelka, 56, of Park Ridge was celebrated Jan. 26 in Mary, Seat of Wisdom Church. A private interment followed. Arrangements were made by Nelson Funeral Home. A registered nurse for Skokie Health Dept. and at Rush-Northshore Medical Center, she died Jan. 23. Surviving is her daughter Brenda.

VERONICA MILLER
of Park Ridge

Funeral services for Veronica L. Miller, nee Panek, 83, took place on Monday, Jan. 30 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles at 9 a.m. and at St. Paul of the Cross Church at 10 a.m. Visitation was at Skaja on Sunday; interment was at Acacia Park cemetery. Mrs. Miller was born on Oct. 25, 1932 in Chicago. She was a homemaker and died on Jan. 24 at Resurrection Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents Thaddeus and Ann nee Slupikowski Panek. She is survived by her son James (Debra) Miller; daughters Debbie (Bruce) Schoenrock and Barbara Miller; grandchildren Christina, Stefanie, Justin and Dixie; a brother Ted (Patti) Panek; and a sister Lydia (Tom) Chester. She was also the fond aunt and cousin of many. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Assn. or to the Humane Society. Funeral arrangements were made by Skaja Terrace Funeral Home.

PATRICIA F. VELINSKI
Age 73

Patricia F. Velinski (nee Lauter), 73, of Rolling Meadows died Jan. 22 at her home. She was born Mar. 23, 1932 in Chicago. Mrs. Velinski is survived by husband Richard; daughters Linda (Albert) Colombini and Susan (Michael) Connolly; sons Richard (Donna) and James (Gisela); 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister Nancy (Frank) Mruczka; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation took place Tuesday at Meadows Funeral Home. Mass was held Wednesday) at 10 a.m. at St. Colette Church, followed by interment at St. Michael cemetery in Palatine. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

ELEANOR WILSON
of Des Plaines

A funeral service for Eleanor Wilson (nee Naponelli), 73, will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at Nelson Funeral Home in Park Ridge. Interment is at the Town of Maine cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday, Jan. 31 at Nelson. Mrs. Wilson was a waitress at the Golden Flame Restaurant in Chicago. She was also a member of the Red Hats and the Des Plaines Senior Center. She died on Saturday, Jan. 28. She is survived by her children Lenore (Karl) Berglund, Alan (Cheryl) and Dale (Kathy) and her grandchildren Kim Granacki, Nickolas, Sarah, Zachary and Molly. She was the fond sister of the late Mamie, Celia Romano, Rose Vitale, Jerry, Martin, Charlie, Tony and Mike. Funeral arrangements were made by Nelson Funeral Home.

GARY A. WOJTCZAK
Of Elk Grove Village, Formerly Of Park Ridge

A funeral service for Gary A. Wojtczak, of Elk Grove, took place Thursday, Jan. 26, 10 a.m. at Grove Memorial Chapel. Interment took place at All Saints cemetery. Visitation took place Wednesday, Jan. 25, 3 to 9 p.m. at Grove Memorial Chapel. Born in Chicago, Mr. Wojtczak was a 36-year employee of A. Finkl & Sons. He is a former resident of Park Ridge, and he lived in Elk Grove for five years. Mr. Wojtczak died Sunday, Jan. 22 at home. Mr. Wojtczak is preceded in death by his brother John (Mary). Mr. Wojtczak is survived by his wife Debra; his brother Gene (Marge); sisters Lillian (Mike) Nardstadt and Irene Huff; mother-in-law Dorothy Hodous; brothers-in-law Michael Hodous and George (Toni) Hodous; and many nieces and nephews.

JUNE M. BLONN
Of Des Plaines

June M. Blonn (nee Bach), who served as secretary for many years in the Dist. 64 school system, passed away at the age of 83. Mrs. Blonn was born June 3, 1922 in Chicago. She died at Lutheran General Hospital on Mar. 9. Mrs. Blonn retired in 1988 and was a member of the Park Ridge Senior Center. She was preceded in death by husband Robert. She is survived by sons Raymond (Marty), Robert (Karen) and Richard (Nancy) Blonn; and grandchildren Jeffrey, Lori, Phillip (Christine), Alison (Derek), Amy, Jen, Katie, Colleen and Rick. Services took place Monday at Oehler Funeral Home.

RITA ROSE GRESENS
Age 76

Rita Rose Gresens (nee Ostrowski) of Rolling Meadows passed away Mar. 8. She was born Feb. 21, 1930 in Chicago. Mrs. Gresens was the head housekeeper at Clearbrook for 17 years. She was preceded in death by husband Charles E. and sister Virginia Charnota. She is survived by children Charles (Katy) Gresens and Robin Gruenfeld; and grandchildren Matt Gruenfeld, Jennifer (Jason) House and Heather and Sean Gresens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Vitas Hospice in Lombard.

MIRIAM WEBB JUNG
Age 99

Miriam Webb Jung of Palatine passed away Mar. 8 at Alexian Brother Medical Center, where she'd served many years as a volunteer. She had been a resident of the northwest suburbs for 77 years. Mrs. Jung had also volunteered as a Girl Scout and 4-H leader and with different school systems. She was a manager in a printing firm. She was preceded in death by husband Erich H. Jung and siblings Maurice Webb and Margaret Webb Hardy. Mrs. Webb was born Oct. 24, 1906. Survivors include daughters Erica (Robert) Schwartzler and Ann Finney; granddaughters Roberta (Dan) O'Connell, Susan (Allan) Rath, Sarah (Jim Hernandez), Ellen (Charles) Leonard, Linda (James) Tepper and Kate Schwarzler; great-grandchildren Kerry, Erica and John O'Connell, Emily and Erin Rath and Riley and Colin Hernandez; sister Madeline Webb Montelbano; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation took place Saturday at Meadows Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at Memory Gardens in Arlington Hts. Memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity or St. Johns United Church of Christ.

NORMAN D. LEWIS
Age 78

Norman D. Lewis of Elk Grove Village passed away Mar. 9 at his home. Mr. Lewis fought in World War II and Korea for the Army. He worked in the printing industry for many years.Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by sister Elaine (Leon) Wera. He is survived by wife Patricia (nee Garrison); children Cindy (Randy) Holm and Debbie, Lane (Johanna), Robert (Shanda) and Dena Lewis; and 10 grandchildren. Services took place Monday at Meadows Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2211 North Oak Park Ave., Chicago, 60707.

DOMINIC PIRAINO
WWII Veteran From Itasca

A funeral Mass for Dominic M. Piraino, 83, took place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Mar. 9 at St. Julian Eymaro Church. Visitation was Wednesday, Mar. 8 at Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village. Interment at Queen of Heaven cemetery in Hillside. Mr. Piraino was born in Chicago. He was a 10-year resident of Itasca. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theater as a combat infantryman. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He also owned SP Piraino Produce in the South Water Market. He died at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village on Mar. 6. He was preceded in death by a brother, Sam Piraino. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Audrey M. (nee Giovacchini), his children Michael D. (Deborah), David R. (Kathleen), and Steven G. Piraino, his grandchildren Michael, Michelle, Tricia, Nicole, Dawn, Steven (Laura), Ashley, and Andrew, and his siblings Mary Gloviak, Josephine (Ed) Figura, George (Georgette) Piraino, Joseph (Connie) Piraino, Rosalie (Stanley) Wyrostek, Anna (Ron) Placky, and Carol (Bill) Zimmerman. Funeral arrangements were made by Grove Memorial Chapel.

MARGARET POBLOCKI
Of Elk Grove Village

A funeral Mass for Margaret E. Poblocki (nee Swakow), 94, took place on Monday, Mar. 13 at Queen of the Rosary Church. Interment was at Maryhill cemetery in Niles. Visitation was Sunday, Mar. 12 at Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village. Mrs. Poblocki was born in Chicago. She worked at C-Line Products of Des Plaines. She was preceded in death by her husband Peter E., her brother Arthur Swakow, and her sisters, Irene Janowicz, Lillian Sass, and Marie Stromquist. She is survived by her children Melvin A. (Barbara) Poblocki and Marilyn E. Ginter, her sister Florence Netzel, grandchildren James, Kurt (Lisa) Ginter, Corinne (Robert) Galladora, Laurie Czajka, and David Poblocki, her great-grandchildren Kristina, Jennifer, Rachel, Christine, Erik, Justin, Michael, and Matthew and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

MARY HELEN RHEAD
Of Schaumburg

Visitation for Mary Helen Rhead (nee Premer), 93, took place on Sunday, Mar. 12 at The Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Interment will be in Colorado. Mrs. Rhead was born on July 9, 1912 in Indiana. She died on Mar. 8 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth. She is survived by her children Clifton, John (Ania) Rhead, and Susan (Victor) Ciancanelli, along with five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were made by The Meadows Funeral Home.

A funeral Mass for Lottie Szybowicz (nee Drwenski), 93, took place on Monday, Mar. 13 at Queen of the Rosary. Interment was at Maryhill cemetery in Niles. Visitation was on Sunday, Mar. 12 at Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village. Mrs. Szybowicz was born in Chicago. She lived as a homemaker and died on Mar. 8 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. She was preceded in death by her husband Matthew and her sisters Jean Fisher, Sophie Schweda, Eleanora Luberda, and Frances Drwenski. She is survived by her daughters Joanne (Tom) McGrath and Rita (Ron) Taucher, her grandchildren Laura (Brian) Thomas, Lynne (Bob) Copeland, Ron (Margie) Taucher, and Dan (Tracy) Taucher, and her great-grandchildren Ben, Madison, Stephanie, Morgan, Adam, Emily, Sarah, McKenna, and Ryan. Funeral arrangements were made by Grove Memorial Chapel.
