A funeral service for John F. "Jack" Anderson, 57, a longtime resident of Des Plaines, was held on Monday, Dec. 11 at St. Mary Catholic Church.
Visitation took place on Sunday, Dec. 10 at G.L. Hills Funeral Home.
Interment was at Abraham Lincoln National cemetery.
Mr. Anderson was born on Nov. 28, 1949 in Chicago.
He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans #311, VFW Post Des Planes and St. Mary Church.
He died on Dec. 6, 2006 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his brothers William and Michael.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife Mary Lou, son Thomas, daughters Carrie, Sarah (Andrew) Oberdier, Karen (Brian) Palmer, and Laura (Carlo) Barros, brothers Joseph (Sandra) and Martin (Tina), sisters Therese and Mary (Roger) Ellicson, grandchildren Patrick, Rose, Katelyn, and Allison and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hearts With Haiti (St. Joseph Home for Boys Trinity House Broken Wings Mission), 708 McCulloch St., Raleigh, N.C. 27603, Maine West dollars for Scholars, 1755 S. NORMA AQUINO
of Palatine

A funeral Mass for Norma Aquino nee Setosta, 63, took place on Saturday, Dec. 9 at St. Theresa Church in Palatine. Interment was at St. Michael the Archangel cemetery.
Visitation was Friday, Dec. 8 at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home in Palatine. Mrs. Aquino was born on July 6, 1943 in Manila, Philippines.
She died on Dec. 7, 2006. Her father Paul Setosta preceded her in death.
Her husband Leo; her children Nikki Aquino and Terence Aquino; her mother Elizabeth Setosta; and her siblings Victor (Marivic) Setosta and Beth Setosta survive her.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois, 640 N. LaSalle St. Ste 280, Chicago, IL 60610 are appreciated.

JEFFREY R. BAUER
of Rolling Meadows

A funeral service for Jeffrey R. Bauer, 51, of Rolling Meadows was held on Monday, Dec. 11 at Meadows Funeral Home. Visitation took place on Sunday, Dec. 10 at the funeral home. Interment was at St. Michael cemetery in Palatine. Mr. Bauer was born on May 1, 1955 in Chicago. He died on Dec. 8, 2006 at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview. He is preceded in death by his mother Patricia. Mr. Bauer is survived by his father Robert, brother Jon M., sister Patricia Ann (Thomas) Larabee, nephew Jon M. Bauer Jr., and great niece Ella.

MICHAEL J. "JOE" BRENNAN
WWII veteran from Edison Park

A funeral service for Michael J. "Joe" Brennan, 87, took place on Saturday, Dec. 8 at St. Thecia Church. Interment was at Queen of Heaven cemetery. Visitation was on Friday, Dec. 7, at Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge. Mr. Brennan was born on Sept. 14, 1919 in Chicago. He served in WWII and then as a Chicago Police officer for 33 years. He died on Dec. 5, 2006. His parents, Michael and Nora Brennan of County Silgo, Ireland and his siblings Mary Murphy, Katherine Fitzgerald, John and James Brennan preceded him in death. He is survived by Frances Bridget (nee Quinn), his wife and companion of 57 years; his children Kathleen, Michael PFD (Barb), Nora (Jerry), Tom (Therese), Patrick CFD (Mary Pat), Quinn CFD (Karen) and Jack CFD (Cindy); his grandchildren Maggie Patrick Colleen, Quinn, Brooke, Danny, Brenna, Michael, Kaelin, Carra, Katie, Michael, Jonny, Danny, Jack, Hannah, Austin, Connor, James, Ryan, Colin, Megan and Conor; and many nieces and nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Misericordia Home, 6300 N. Ridge Ave., Chicago, Ill. 60660 are appreciated.

MICHAEL PAUL CHERNICKY
All-conference athlete

A funeral Mass for Michael Paul Chernicky, 40, took place on Monday, Dec. 11, at St. Thomas of Villanova Church in Palatine. Interment was at St. Michael the Archangel in Palatine. Visitation was Sunday, Dec. 10 at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home in Palatine. Mr. Chernicky was born on Oct. 13, 1966 in Arlington Heights. He graduated from Palatine High School where he earned all-conference and area honors in football and played baseball and basketball. He worked for 17 years at Dominick's Finer Foods in Buffalo Grove. He died on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. He is survived by his parents Steve N. and Barbara (nee Swaggerty) Chernicky; his siblings Steven Chernicky, Sheryl (Rob) DeBlock, Linda (Robert) Ruff and Laura Chernicky; his nieces and nephews Alex, Madison, Brittany and Camille Ruff; his aunts and uncles Bill and Angie Swaggerty, Fran (late George) Onderisin and Carol Coe; and many cousins. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Heart Association, Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital in Hoffman Estates, or the American Diabetes Association are appreciated.

ANTOINETTE T. DETTLOFF
"Aunt Tori"

Funeral services for Antoinette T. Dettloff (nee Aigner), 89, will be held Thursday, Dec. 14 in Des Plaines. She died Monday, Dec. 11. Lovingly called "Aunt Toni, " Dettloff was a loyal and passive member of the German-American Singers of Chicago and the Schwaben Verein of Chicago. She is survived by her nieces Rosemarie (late Edward) Sanelli, Joanne (Harvey) Linke and Carol (Larry) Lagadinos. She was a fond aunt, great-aunt and great-great aunt, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold J. (a retired USAF captain); her parents; sisters and brother-in-laws Maria (Carl) Bischoff, Rose (Joseph) Oswald, Anne (Francis) Ziemann and brother Frank Aigner. Services will be held at 11 a.m. at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines Chapel. Visitation will be held today, (Wednesday) from 3 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at All Saints cemetery in Des Plaines. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the German-American Kinderchor or the Schwaben Verein Charity Fund.

SADIE J. EDWARDS
of Elk Grove Village

A funeral service for Sadie J. Edwards, 69, of Elk Grove, was held on Friday, Dec. 8 at Grove Memorial Chapel. Visitation took place on Friday at the funeral home. Ms. Edwards was born in Chicago. She worked as a loan officer for HSBC of Wood Dale and formerly Century-Grant of Chicago. She is survived by her sons John E. (Cindy) Bryan, Keith M. Bryan, and Robert E. (Sandi) Bryan, parents Louise and Harold Knickerbocker, brothers Dennis Cowsky and David Cowsky and grandchildren Kelly, Michael, Nicole, John, Sean, and Zach. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Children's Memorial Hospital or Shriners Hospital.

BILLY E. FOX
of Elk Grove Village

A funeral service for Billy E. Fox, 78, of Elk Grove Village for 41 years, took place Saturday, Dec. 10 at Christus Victor Lutheran Church following in state. Visitation was the previous day. Interment at Ridgewood cemetery in Des Plaines. Mr. Fox was born Nov. 6, 1928 in Coweta, Ok. He was a salesman in the soft drink industry for 41 years at Coca Cola, Orange Crush, and Proctor and Gamble. He was named "Man of the Year" in National Sales in 1976. He was a 32 degree Mason, holding memberships in Loyal Lodge #1007 and Arlington Hts. #1162. He also held memberships in the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Chicago and the Medinah Shriners. His church affiliation was Victor Lutheran Church in Elk Grove Village. Mr. Fox passed away at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, Dec. 6. He is preceded in death by his sister and two brothers. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, June (nee Gusterine), his children Sybil (the late John) Chialiva, Keith (Tami) Fox, and Cindy (Gary) Blaski, and eight grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice, 580 Water's Edge, Suite 100, Lombard, Ill., or Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 1045 S. Arlington Hts. WILLIAM M. GORMLEY
of Buffalo Grove

A funeral service for William M. Gormley, 89, of Buffalo Grove will be today at 7:30 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 6201 Peterson Ave. in Chicago. Interment private. Mr. Gormley was born in Chicago. He was formerly of Poplar Grove and Niles. He retired in 1977 from Imperial Eastman. He passed away Wednesday, Dec. 6 at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth Gormley (nee Dovey), his beloved wife of 65 years Catherine D. Gormley (nee Kline), his loving daughter Sandra Lansing, and his brothers John Gormley and George Gormley. He is survived by his loving daughter Janet Phillips, and his grandchildren Deborah (John) Kleczewski, Charles (Michele) Lansing, Wendy (Sylvester) Pieczonka, Catherine (Jeff) Noland-Lansing, Alice Phillips, William Lansing, Katie Phillips, and six great grandchildren. SHIRLEY M. HAMILTON
of Palatine

A funeral service for Shirley M. Hamilton, 82, of Palatine, was held private. Ms. Hamilton was born on June 15, 1924 in Wellington, New Zealand. She worked as a manager for a jewelry store for many years. She died on Dec. 5, 2006 at Manor Care of Rolling Meadows. She is preceded in death by her husband Leonard L and her brother Norman Bennett. Ms. Hamilton is survived by her children Robert (Patricia), Gordon (Patricia) and Barbara (Fred) Ellis, her eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and siblings Margaret Ross and Winifred Hope, and Gordon.

ANGELITA SALAZAR
of Rolling Meadows

A funeral service for Angelita Salazar, 78, of Rolling Meadows was held on Thursday, Dec. 14 at St. Colette Church. Visitation was held on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at Meadows Funeral Home. Interment was at All Saints cemetery. Ms. Salazar was born on Oct. 2. 1928 in Big Wells, Texas. She had worked for Lawry Foods for many years. She died on Dec. 11, 2006 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. She is preceded in death by her parents Augustin and Petra Collazo, son Raul Salazar and brother Eliodora (Rebecca) Collazo. Ms. Salazar is survived by her husband Antonio Sr., children Antonio Jr. (Gloria), Alicia (Edward) Maier, her six grandchildren, three grandchildren, and siblings Augustine (Juanita) and Ruben (Rosa). In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Colette Church or the American Cancer Society.

ROBERT G. SAMPSON
of Arlington Heights

A funeral service for Robert G. Sampson, 81, of Arlington Heights, was held private. Mr. Sampson was born on March 4, 1925 in Evanston. He started as a property Attorney for United Airlines and after 30 years of service, retired as Vice President and Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Board. He also served on the President's Committee for the Disabled, the Board of Directors of The Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Board of Directors of Alexian Brothers Hospital. He died on Dec. 3, 2006 at his home. Mr. Sampson is preceded in death by his brother James (the late Dorothy) and grandchildren Katy and Philip Sampson. He is survived by his wife Jean, son Robert P. (Pam), daughters Patricia (Dennis) Harkness and Kathleen (Ken) Kortge, grandchildren Erin (Jeff) Cates, Dale (Jennifer) Harkness, Elizabeth and Emily Sampson, and Justin and Karen Kortge, great grandchildren Noah Rickman, Hannah Cates, Mary Beth Garcia, and Xander Harkness, cousins Mary Jo, Jeanne, and Nancy, friend Stella Szady and many nieces, nephews, and friends. JOHN J. SCHEITZ
of Palatine

A funeral service for John Joseph Scheitz, 84, of Palatine was held on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at St. Thomas of Villanova. Visitation took place on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home. Interment was private. Mr. Scheitz was born on June 30, 1922 in Falmouth, Kentucky. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He worked for over 35 years at AT&T; and was also an active member of the St. Thomas of Villanova Parish. He received the Christifideles Award on Oct. 29, 2006 for his service to the church. He died on Dec. 9, 2006 at his home.

SUSANNA K. SCHUCH
of Park Ridge

A funeral service for Susanna K. Schuch, 91, of Park Ridge, was held on Thursday, Dec. 7 at St. John Lutheran Church.
Visitation was on Thursday before the service at the church. Interment was at Ridgewood cemetery. Ms. Schuch was born on Aug. 19, 1915 in Chicago.
She worked as a payroll clerk at United Airlines. She died on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006 at Manor Care Nursing Home. She is preceded in death by her parents Mathias and Susanna and sister Irma.
Ms. Schuch is survived by her niece Sally Giannopoulos, brother Joseph (the late Delores), sister Caroline (the late Ellis) Secor and many nieces and nephews.

ANGELICA "ANGIE" M. VONJENTZEN
of Des Plaines

A funeral mass for Angelica "Angie" M. Vonjentzen (nee Kleczkowski), 56, will take place at 1 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, Dec. 16) at Severino's River Woods Funeral Chapel in Des Plaines. Visitation will be held that morning from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Funeral Chapel. Vonjentzen lived in Des Plaines for more than 20. She was the E.S.I.S. account manager for the Services and Retention department at Ace Insurance Company for many years. Vonjentzen is survived by her mother Elizabeth Drago; brother Richard (Jeanie) Kleczkowski; nephews Nicholas (Laura) and David; and grand-nephew Nicholas. She was preceded in death by her husband William and father Thadeusz. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
