VALENT ZAGORSCAK
of Skokie

A funeral service for Valent Zagorscak, 63, took place on Monday, Dec. 11 at Blessed Alojzije Cardinal Stepinac Mission. Interment was at Ridgewood cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, Dec. 10 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles. Mr. Zagorscak was born on Jan. 11, 1943. He worked as a painter and decorator and died on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006 at Swedish Covenant Hospital. His parents Valent and Ljubica (nee Vrhovski) Zagorscak and his wife Ana Zagorscak preceded him in death. His children Vladimir (Katarzyna) Zagorscak and Snezana (Rajko) Manojlovic; his grandchildren Aleksandra, Kristina and Nikoleta; his siblings Julka, Dragica, Andelka, Josip, Slavko and Ruza; and many nieces and nephews survive him.

NORMAN J. CYBART
Veteran of two wars from Elk Grove Village

A funeral service for Norman J. Cybart, 82, will take place on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m. at Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village. He will be interred at Abraham Lincoln National cemetery in Elwood. Visitation was on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at the funeral home. Mr. Cybart was born in Chicago. He served in the Coast Guard during WWII and again in the Navy during the Korean War. He also served for 18 years as a police officer for the Metropolitan Sanitary Dist. and belonged to the Alano Club of Des Plaines and the Elk Grove VFW Post 9284. He died on Dec. 2, 2006 at St. Alexius Hospital in Hoffman Estates. He is survived by Eileen nee Gold, his wife of 27 years; his children Sharon A. (Lyman Fuson) Cybart, Marla D. (Thomas) White, Ronald M. (Shelley) Schaffel, Michael A. (Susan) Schaffel and Sandra Ambrose; his 10 cherished grandchildren; and Bill Wilson, his close friend for 40 years. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Alano Club, 1535 E. Oakton Ave., Des Plaines, are appreciated.

EDWARD J. DeLAET
World War II Army Veteran from Des Plaines

Edward J. DeLaet, 86, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, died on Wednesday, Nov. 29. Mr. DeLaet is survived by his wife, Phyllis (nee Krunckelsven); children, Thomas, Anne (James) Koller, Jean (Bruce) Daniels, and Joan (Robert) Kaatz; sister, Evaughn (Robert) Figarelli; grandchildren, Kelly (Brad), Kristy, Brian, Jeffrey, Andrea, Lindsay and James. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation was Dec. 1 at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, Des Plaines. A funeral Mass was Saturday, Dec. 2 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Des Plaines. Interment was private.

MARGARET DREWS
of Glenview

A funeral service for Margaret Drews, 85, of Glenview, took place on Saturday, Nov. 25 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Visitation was held on Friday, Nov. 24 at N.H. Scott and Hanekamp Funeral Home. Interment was at All Saints cemetery. She died on Nov. 20, 2006. Ms. Drews is preceded in death by her husband Paul J. She is survived by her children Mary (Lance) Andrews, Linda (Steve) Henson and Paul G. (Tina), grandchildren Ethan, Marisa and Justin Andrews, Matt (Christy), Maggi and Jeff (Lisa) Henson, and P.J., Christine and Danielle Drews, and great grandchildren Nicholas, Brooke and James. SANDRA EGERER
of Park Ridge

Visitation for Sandra Ruth Egerer, 58, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 10 a.m., with a funeral service following at a 11 a.m., at the Ryan-Parke Funeral Home on Northwest Highway in Park Ridge. Internment will follow in the Town of Maine cemetery. Ms. Egerer passed away on Dec. 2 in the Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter in Skokie. Ms. Egerer worked as an administrative consultant for the Baha'i National Center. She is survived by her 8 sisters, Audrey Lucier, Carol Houston, Joanne Hafer, Mary Piver, Shirley Bradt, Pat Scharhag, Connie Egerer Grosse, and Jane Winsor. She was also survived by her brother Bill Egerer, as well as many friends and family.

PATRICK FALLON
of Chicago

A funeral Mass for Patrick Fallon, 80, took place on Monday, Dec. 4, at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment was at All Saints cemetery in Des Plaines. Visitation was Sunday, Dec. 3 at Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge. Mr. Fallon was a member of the Holy Name Society and an usher at Immaculate Conception Church. He was a native of Knockmeal Crusheen, County Clare, Ireland. He died on Nov. 30, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents Fergus and Ann (nee Byrnes) and his brothers John and Michael. He is survived by Bridie (nee Joyce) his wife of 54 years; his children Tom (Mary Ann), Kevin (Carol), Ann O'Neill, Mary, Gerry (Ann), Patrick and John (Trish); his grandchildren Jennifer, Emily, Amy, Katlin, Connor, Jack, Tom, Colin, Declan, Kieran, Amanda, Patrick and Sean; and his brother Frank. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Rainbow Hospice, 444 N. Northwest Hwy., Park Ridge, are appreciated.

MADDY GEISSMAN
World War II Army veteran from Mt. Prospect

A funeral service and interment for Maddy Walter Geissman, 78, of Mt. Prospect is private. Mr. Geissman was born Feb. 22, 1928 in Chicago. He was a World War II Army Veteran and worked as a purchasing agent for precious metals. He passed away Sunday, Nov. 26 at his home. He is preceded in death by his wife Esther (nee Stein) and his brother Charles Geissman. He is survived by his siblings Betty (Robert) Campbell, Ted (Alberta) Geissman, Alfred (the late Idalene) Geissman, Donald (Mary) Geissman and Kathryn (the late Lowell) Black, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements made by Meadows Funeral Home.

BRENDA K. HALES
of Glenview

A funeral service for Brenda K. Hales, 58, of Glenview, will be held in Jasper, Ill. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 10 from 3 to 8 p.m. and Monday, Dec. 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Northfield. Ms. Hales is survived by her husband Dave, children Brijin and Jamie, and siblings Forsee (James) Ervin, Faye McWilliams, Rose (Francis) Jackson, Howard (JoAnna) Anderson, Jenny (Tom) Webber, Shelly Bair, Lea (Pete) Bauer, and Sue Perry. JOAN A. HANETHO
of Palatine

A funeral service for Joan A. Hanetho nee Koppert, 73, took place on Saturday, Dec. 2 at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home in Palatine. Interment was at Evergreen cemetery. Visitation was Friday, Dec. 1 at the funeral home. Mrs. Hanetho was born on Feb. 15, 1933 in Melrose Park, Ill. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and especially spending time with her family. She died on Nov. 28, 2006. She is survived by Richard, her husband of 53 years; her children Donald (Laurel), James, David (Gina) and Rick; her grandchildren Derek, Nick, Ashley, Katie, Allison, Jake, Blake, Kacie, Alana, Kaitlyn and Melissa; her great-grandchildren Allison and Arianna; her siblings Darlene (Max) Easley, Shirley (Jerry) Staehle and Barbara (Cliff) Hanetho; and many nieces and nephews. JOSEPH A. KUBIK
of Mt. Prospect

A funeral service for Joseph Anton Kubik, 93, of Mt. Prospect was private. Mr. Kubik was a resident of Mt. Prospect for 48 years. He attended Mt. Prospect Bible Church and coached softball and basketball at the church. He also enjoyed playing golf at the Mt. Prospect Country Club. He worked as the Quality Control Manger for Stewart Warner in Chicago. He was also the oldest living member of the Chicago Pilsen Sokol, of which he and his wife had been members for 75 years. Mr. Kubik was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Frances Kubik and his wife June Dorothy Kubik. He is survived by his son Joel (Jackie) John (Elena), and James (Jackie), his seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and sister Alice Karr. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made with Focus on the Family, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80995.

MARY S. LADAS
Church steward, ran Zephyr Cafe

A funeral service for Mary S. Ladas nee Georgios, 93, took place on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at St. John's Greek Orthodox Church in Des Plaines. Interment was at Elmwood cemetery in River Grove. Visitation was Tuesday, at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Mrs. Ladas was born on Sept. 14, 1913 in Chicago. She and her husband John owned and operated the Zephyr Café on Miner Street in downtown Des Plaines for many years. She was a steward at St. John's Greek Orthodox Church and died on Nov. 25, 2006 in Des Plaines. Her husband John preceded her in death. Her children Gus (Kathy) Ladas, Nick Ladas and Pauline (Tom) Risko; her grandson Spc. Erik Lambel; her sister Tina Poulos; and many nieces and nephews survive her. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. John's Greek Orthodox Church are appreciated.

ARDELL MEISTER
50-year resident of Des Plaines

A funeral service for Ardell Meister (nee Matson), 79, of Des Plaines was Monday at G.L. Hills Funeral Home. Visitation was the previous day. Interment at Acacia Park cemetery in Chicago. Mrs. Meister was born Feb. 2, 1927 in Chicago. A 50 year resident of Des Plaines, she was a retired worker at Ben Franklin Store. She passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29 at Lutheran General Hospital. She is preceded in death by her brother, Clarence Matson. She is survived by her husband Marvin Meister, her children Marvin "Mel" (Nancy) Meister, Norine (Joseph Hahn) Meister, and Renee (Gary) Weiland, her grandchildren Gwen (Sean), Reilly, Paul, Mark, Jeffrey, Christine, James, and David, and her great granddaughter Claire Reilly.

CHARLES W. MORGAN, SR.
Served with Navy in Pacific

A memorial gathering for Charles "Charlie" W. Morgan, Sr., 82, of Des Plaines took place Saturday, Dec. 2 at G.L. Hills Funeral Home in Des Plaines.
Interment will be private at All Saints cemetery. Mr. Morgan was born Jan. 20, 1924 in Pocahontas, Ark., where he was raised.
He came to Des Plaines in 1955 after serving in the World War II Navy in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He was a retired Pace Bus Company employee.
He passed away Monday, Nov. 20 at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital after a long illness.
He is preceded in death by his parents William Henry and Mae (nee Wells) Morgan, his daughter Janet (Joseph) Evans, his wives Edna (nee Judd) Morgan and Maureen (nee Vieser) Morgan, and his siblings Grace, Benjamin, Ann (Helm) Gaiser, and Juanita (Ralph) Thomas.
He is survived by his children, Bill (Nancy) Morgan, Garry (Joyce) Morgan, Yolanda Carol (John) Lamb, David Morgan, Judy Yates, Dennis (Mary) Morgan, Cathy (Bill) Banker, Linda (John) Harris, and Charles W. Morgan, Jr., his aunt, Betty Ferguson, his sisters Reba (J. Warren) Alsup, Noie (Bill) Hansfeldt, and Bonnie (Billy) Douglas, twenty-two grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

MARTIN J. O'DONNELL
of Glenview

A funeral service for Martin J. "Marty" O'Donnell, 82, of Glenview, took place on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at N.H. Scott and Hanekamp Funeral Home.
Visitation was on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at the funeral home. Entombment was at All Saints Mausoleum.
Mr. O'Donnell was a co-owner with his wife of Renneckar's Pharmacy and Marty's Hallmark.
He died on Nov. 25, 2006.
Mr. O'Donnell is preceded in death by his wife Doris.
He is survived by his children Kevin, Sean, and Marty Jr., and grandchildren Kevin, Cody, and Collin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Sr. Paulanne's Needy Family Fund, C/O OLPH, 1775 Grove St., Glenview, IL, 60025.

ANN ROJEK
Of Des Plaines

Visitation for Ann L. Rojek (nee Niemczyk), 88, will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 3-9 p.m., at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m., at St. Emily Church in Mt. Prospect. The burial will be at Maryhill cemetery in Niles.
Ms. Rojek was born on June 30, 1918 in Stevens Point, WI.
She died on Dec. 3, in Park Ridge. Ms. Rojek was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband Chester, and her son David (Gail) Rojek. She was survived in death by her daughter Sharon (James) Dillon, grandchildren Sue (Bill) Kiss, Patti Rojek, Cathy (Kevin) O'Brien, Christopher (Sara) Rojek, Timothy (Melissa) Rojek, Kelly, Katie, and Michael Dillon.
She was also survived by great-grandchildren Brittany Madeline, Stephanie, and Carson.
Ms. Rojek was the aunt of many nieces and nephews, and was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorial masses would be appreciated.

MINNA R. SCHEEL
of Des Plaines

A funeral service for Minna Ruth Scheel, 85, of Des Plaines, was held on Monday, Dec. 4 at St. John Brebeuf Church. Visitation took place Sunday, Dec. 3 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home.
Interment was at Maryhill cemetery. Ms. Scheel was born on April 3, 1921 in Chicago.
She was a homemaker for her family.
She passed away on Nov. 30, 2006 at Lutheran General Hospital.
She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, grandson Kevin, and parents John and Minna (Posch) Schaeffer. Ms. Scheel is survived by son Karl, daughter Amy (Skip) Rehder and grandchildren William, Elizabeth, Patrick, Steven and Caitlin.
