Vincent W. Weidner
Of Mt. Prospect

A funeral service for Vincent William Weidner was held Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Grace Lutheran Church in Mt. Prospect. Interment was private at Memory Gardens cemetery. Friedrichs Funeral Home handled the arrangements. He was born on Aug. 26, 1952 in Elgin and passed away suddenly Friday, June 26 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Hts. after collapsing while umpiring a youth softball game. He was first employed at Mt. Prospect State Bank, later at Northwest Suburban Driving School, and as a school bus driver for Mt. Prospect School Dist. 57. He was an area coach, umpire and referee. Mr. Weidner is survived by his wife, Jeanne; children, Timothy (Janae) and Sheri; grandchild, Lilah and "big brother" to Victoria Hodor-Freeman, Valerie Gaylord (Mark) and Vivian Wozniak (Tony).

Ignaz Wohszab
of Hoffman Estates

A funeral service for Ignaz Wohszab, 78, of Hoffman Estates, was held June 25, 2009 in Meadows Funeral Home, Rolling Meadows. Interment was in St. Michael the Archangel cemetery. A native of Hungary, he died June 20 in St. Alexius Medical Center. He worked for American Airlines for more than 30 years and was a member of St. Colette Church Men's Club. Surviving are his widow, Maria; children Lis Wozab, Mary (James) Miles, and Terri (Bob) Leckie; and grandchildren Lucas and Andy Leckie.

Joseph F. Ziemba
Of Buffalo Grove

A funeral service for Joseph Frank Ziemba of Buffalo Grove, was held July 2, 2009 in Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., Arlington Hts. Interment was private. A native of Chicago, he died in his home on June 29. He was a sergeant in the Air Force from 1976-80, and worked as an interface engineer for Teradyne Inc. for 20 years until 2006. Surviving are his widow, Carolyn (nee Mattson), daughters Cella Rae and Camille Elizabeth Ziemba; five siblings; and his mother, Mary. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond.

Roger D. Begloff
of Palatine

A celebration of life for Roger D. Bergloff "Poppy", 83, of Palatine, was held Sunday, July 12, 2009, at Meadows Baptist Church. Mr. Bergloff was born March 28, 1926 in Cass Lake, Minn. He passed away July 1, 2009 at Glenbrook Hospital. He is survived by wife Eleanor, children Peggy, Jodi (Fred) Gular, Laurel (Gary) Barrett and Donald, Thomas (Kerri), 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by son William.

Kimberly A. Bingham
Formerly of Elk Grove Village

A funeral service for Kimberly A. Bingham, 43, formerly of Elk Grove Village, was held Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Alden cemetery in Alden, Ill. Ms. Bingham was born in Waukegan. She was a 1984 graduate of Elk Grove High School. She passed away June 19, 2009 at the home of her parents. She is survived by parents Richard D. and Karen A. and nieces and nephews Michael, Dustin, Kara and Robbie.

Ruby E. Blomquist
Formerly of Park Ridge

A funeral service for Ruby E. Blomquist, 88, formerly of Park Ridge, was held Friday, June 26, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Sister Bay in Wisconsin. Interment was at Little Sister cemetery. Ms. Blomquist was born Apr. 6, 1921 in Sister Bay, Wisc. She was a longtime resident of Park Ridge and served as president of the Park Ridge Garden Club. She passed away on May 27, 2009. She is survived by daughter Joanne (Larry) Miglore and grandchildren Steven (Susan) Wegner, Scott (Laura) and Diane (Derek).

Genevieve V. Burchi
Of Niles

Genevieve V. Burchi, 98, of Niles, died Saturday, July 11, 2009, at Lexington Healthcare in Bloomingdale.
She was born Apr. 17, 1911 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Joseph and Della (Lucia) LaFontaine.
Genevieve was a valued former employee of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in Skokie for 20 years, where she had worked as a supervisor.
She was also a hairdresser, operating a shop at her home in Niles.
An avid bingo player, she also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and playing the slot machines.
She was a member of Our Lady of Ransom Church in Niles, and also attended Mass with her son Eugene at St. Joseph Church in Round Lake.
Survivors include two sons, Eugene (Marcia) Burchi of Round Lake, and Ralph (Mary) Burchi of Hanover Park; three grandchildren, Ted Burchi of Racine, WI, Jennifer Burchi of Hanover Park, and Nicole Burchi of Hanover Park; and a great grandchild, Riley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clemente Burchi on Nov. 30, 1998, two brothers, Art and Will, and a sister, Violet.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at Justen's Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Court, Round Lake, IL 60073.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 114 N. Lincoln Avenue, Round Lake. Interment will be in Ascension cemetery, Libertyville, IL.
Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Illinois Chapter, 8430 W. Bryn Mawr, Suite 800, Chicago, IL 60631 would be appreciated by her family.

of Arlington Hts.

A funeral mass for Donna Jean Day, 68, an active volunteer and employee of St. Cecilia Church, Mt. Prospect, was celebrated July 7, 2009 in the church. Interment was in St. Michael the Archangel cemetery, Palatine. Arrangements were by Friedrichs Funeral Home, Mt. Prospect. A native of Chicago, she died July 3 in the Lutheran Home in Arlington Hts. She was the business manager at St. Cecilia Church, where she also was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Surviving are her husband, Burch Day; children Edward and Scott (Beth); and grandchildren Samuel and Keira.

William J. "Bill" Hautop
of Park Ridge

Funeral services for William J. "Bill" Hautop, 75, were held on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Mary, Seat of Wisdom Church. Visitation preceded the service at Nelson Funeral Home. Interment followed at Town of Maine cemetery. Hautop died on Monday, June 1, 2009. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of the International Bricklayers Union for over 50 consecutive years and the beloved husband of Gwen for 50 years. Hautop is survived by his daughter Joan (Bob) Fiske, sisters Mary Torossi, Verna Werner and Carol Kearney and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Billy and sister Kay Stockton.

Catherine Ruth Hunter
of Palatine

A funeral service for Catherine (Kate) Hunter, 88, of Palatine, was held Wednesday, July 8, 2009, in Staab Funeral Home, Springfield, Ill. Interment will be in Oak Ridge cemetery, Springfield. Arrangements are by Ahlgrim Funeral Home, Palatine. A native of Palestine, Arkansas, she died July 2 in her home. She was an avid crafter and was well known for her contributions to the craft sales at Palatine Presbyterian Church, where she was a member. Surviving are her husband, Edward A.; son Ray Hunter; three granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.

Franciszek Jagusiak
of Wheeling

A funeral service for Franciszek "Frank" Jagusiak, of Wheeling, was held Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Gleuckert Funeral Home. Visitation took place Friday, June 12 at the funeral home. Interment was at Memory Gardens cemetery. Mr. Jagusiak was born Dec. 14, 1917 in Chorzenice, Poland. He passed away June 8, 2009 at Hines Veterans Hospital. He is survived by wife Alda, sons Andrew and Mark (Mary), step-sons Vitold and Mariusz Napiokowski and grandchildren Julie Radford and Mike Jagusiak. He is preceded in death by first wife Anna.

Raymond V. Kaczmarek
of Rolling Meadows

A funeral service for Raymond V. Kaczmarek, 76, of Rolling Meadows, was held Friday, May 22, 2009, at St. Colette Church. Visitation took place Thursday, May 21, at Meadows Funeral Home. Interment was at St. Michael the Archangel cemetery. Mr. Kaczmarek was born Apr. 20, 1933 in Chicago. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the Army. He passed away on Saturday, May 16. He is survived by wife Deborah, children Christopher (Amie), Gregory (Sharon), Lawrence (Cheri), Jennifer (Scott) Polovitch and Amy Lawson, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Alice Kantorowicz
Formerly of Park Ridge

A funeral mass for Alice H. Kantorowicz, 93, a former resident of Park Ridge, was celebrated June 23, 2009 in St. Paul of the Cross Church, Park Ridge. Interment was in All Saints cemetery. Arrangements were by Ryan-Parke Funeral Home. A native of Kenosha, Wisconsin, she died June 19 in Barrington. She was a member of the St. Paul of the Cross Church choir for 40 years. Surviving are children Todd (Judy), Ken (Ann); grandchildren Kayne (Amber) and Ryan Kantorowicz and Kelly (David) Barista; and great-grandchildren Kyler and Jonah Kantorowicz. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marcia.

Ronald B. Lesch
of Arlington Hts.

A funeral service for Ronald B. Lesch, 73 of Arlington Hts. was held Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at St. Thomas of Villanova Church in Palatine. Visitation took place Tuesday, June 23, at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home. Mr. Lesch is survived by husband Jeri, children David (Sharmilla), Sue (Mark) Smiley, Jim (Debra) and Cindy (Kim) Hjerstedt, grandchildren Alex, Ben, Anna, Jason, Linnea, Erik, Kara and Stephen and siblings Herman (Judy), Howard (Maureen) and Bernadette (Tom) Frale.

David J. McNamara
of Rolling Meadows

A funeral service and interment for David J. McNamara, 80, were private. He was born on Apr. 8, 1929 in Chicago. He died on May 23, 2009 at Manor Care of Arlington Hts. His son Christopher McNamara preceded him in death. His wife Margaret and his children Mary (Joel Griffith) McNamara, David (the late Mary Beth), Catherine (Mark) Hansen, and Matthew (Debbie) survive him. Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows made funeral arrangements.

Lawrence Maffia
of Morton Grove

Funeral services for Lawrence Maffia of Morton Grove were held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at St. Isaac Jogues Church following visitation at Skaja Funeral Home. Interment followed at Maryhill cemetery. Maffia was born in Chicago on Jan. 20, 1918 and died at his home on Wednesday, June 10, 2009. A United States Army veteran of World War II, Maffia went on to work as an electronics plant superintendent. Maffia is survived by his daughter Carol Maffia Swiney, sons Lawrence R. (Dianne) and Robert Maffia, brother Carl (Dorothy) Maffia, sister May (the late Steve) Corbo, grandchildren; Nicole (Victor Sanchez) and Elias Maffia, great-grandson Enzo Maffia, companion Lola Nesti and many nieces and nephews. Maffia was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Mabel (nee Frederick), Maffia wife Marie B. (nee Bugay) Maffia, sisters; Mary Albert, Ella (the late Roy) Johnsen and Ann (the late Sam) Pacenti and brother Anthony (the late Bernice) Maffia.

Helen M. Malone
of Elk Grove Village

A Funeral Mass was held for Helen M. Malone (nee Barjau), 80, at Queen of the Rosary Church on Saturday, June 6, 2009 following visitation at Grove Memorial Chapel with interment following at St. Michael's cemetery. Malone was born in Monterey, Mexico, and lived in Elk Grove Village for 50 years. She died on Monday, June 1, 2009 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. Malone sold Avon products in Elk Grove Village for 40 years. The company rewarded her for her efforts by making her a member of the Avon President's Club. She was also a member of the Queen of the Rosary Woman's Club. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Elmer J. Malone, children Russell J. and Linda Mueller and grandchildren Scott, Keith and Amy.

Mary E. Maxted
Elk Grove teacher

A funeral service for Mary E. Maxted, 83, of Elk Grove Village, was held Saturday, July 11, 2009, in Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Hts. Road. Interment will be in St. Michael cemetery, Palatine. She was a native of Denver, Colorado. She was an elementary teacher in Elk Grove Village and also worked for United Airlines. Surviving are her grandchildren, Jennifer and Patrick Boyd. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, and her daughter, Sandi Boyd.
