STEVE C. FINIK
Purple Heart recipient of Arlington Hts.

Steve C. Finik was born in Chicago on Dec. 25, 1919 to Joseph and Anna (nee Bober) Finik. He died in Arlington Hts. on Mar. 2, 2008. Mr. Finik was an Army veteran having served in World War II. He received a Purple Heart and was awarded three bronze service stars. Mr. Finik was retired from Vaco Products in Chicago after 50 years of employment. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Cole; his grandson, Davidson Cole, his many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was the special "grandpa" to Margaret and many special friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Flo. Visitation was Friday, Mar. 7, from 3 to 9 p.m., at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., in Arlington Hts. Prayers were said at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 8 at the funeral home and St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Hts. Rd., Arlington Hts. Interment was at St. Adalbert cemetery.

JOHN A. FLANAGAN III
of Niles

A funeral service for John A. Flanagan III, 57, of Niles, was held at St. Francis de Sales Church in Lake Zurich. He was born Nov. 6, 1950 and died Wednesday, Mar. 12. He is survived by wife, Mary; children, John, Matthew and Patrick. Interment was held at Queen of Heaven cemetery in Hillside.

EDWARD J. KIESLER
of Park Ridge

A funeral mass for Edward J. Kiesler, 89, of Park Ridge, will be held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) in St. Paul of the Cross Church, Park Ridge. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery. Arrangements are by Ryan-Parke Funeral Home. A native of Chicago, he died Mar. 21 in Forest Villa Nursing Center, Niles. Surviving are his widow, Lorraine D.; son Robert E.; siblings Celeste (Lee) Mordini and Lorraine (the late Edmond) Leighton); nephews James (Lauren) and Thomas (Kathy) Mordini; and nieces Caroline (Jeff) Bruglani, Marilyn (Lynn) Berliner, and Barbara (Thomas) Manfredl. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence (Muriel).

ANNE P. KOLLER
of Arlington Heights

A memorial visitation and service for Anne P. Koller (nee Powers), 89, will take place on Friday, Mar. 28 at The Lutheran Home, St. John Chapel, 800 W. Oakton St., in Arlington Heights. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. with service at 2 p.m. Mrs. Koller was born on Nov. 11, 1918 in Milwaukee, Wisc. She graduated from Beloit College and served on the Dist. 211 school board for many years. She died on Mar. 18, 2008 at The Lutheran Home. Her siblings Sanger Powers, Ruth Mendelsen, and Marjorie Ritzman preceded her in death. Her husband Dr. Andrew J. Koller and many nieces and nephews survive her. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to the Beloit College Fund, 700 College St., Beloit, Wisc. Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows made funeral arrangements.

ELISABETH KOWATSCH
of Palatine

A funeral service for Elisabeth Kowatsch (nee Henrich), 84, of Palatine, was held Wednesday, Mar. 19, at St. Theresa Church in Palatine. She was born June 19, 1923 in Germany and died Sunday, Mar. 16. She was formerly a lieutenant for the Chicago Police Dept. She is survived by husband, Stefan; child, Christa (Joseph) Gehard; grandchildren Linda and Steven Gehrad; sibling Ewald (Cecilia) Henrich.

DOROTHY S. LEDIG
Of Des Plaines

A private funeral service was held for Dorothy S. Ledig, 83, of Des Plaines. Mrs. Ledig was born May 17, 1924 and died Sunday, Mar. 23. She is survived by children, Linda, Sally; siblings, Nancy (Jerome) Finnigan, Patricia Milz. She is preceded in death by husband, Richard; children Christopher and Nancy (James) Stefely. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the ASPCA.

CHRISTINE M. MARABANIAN
of Des Plaines

A funeral service for Christine M. Marabanian, 87, took place Tuesday, Mar. 25, at Armenian All Saints Apostolic Church. Interment was at Irving Park cemetery. Visitation was at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles on Monday, Mar. 24. Mrs. Marabanian was born on Mar. 6, 1921 in Richmond, Virg. She died on Mar. 19, 2008 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Her husband, Charles Marabanian and her parents Simon and Elizabeth Moughamian preceded her in death. Her children Thomas Marabanian, Elizabeth (Michael) Gurolan, and Thomas (Peggy) Marabanian; her grandchildren James, Lynette, and Charles Marabanian, Christina (Timothy) Norton, Bryan Marabanian, and Laura and Gregory Gurolan; her grandchildren Zachary and Taylor Marabian, her siblings Virginia (Harry) Posigian, Margaret "Dolly" (Simon) Terzian, Rose (Charles) Boylan, Henry (Patricia) Moughamian, and Simon (Phyllis) Moughamian Jr.; and many nieces and nephews survive her. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Armenian All Saints Apostolic Church or Armenian Relief Society are appreciated.

M. THERESE MCNULTY
Of Des Plaines

A funeral Mass of the Resurrection was held for M. Therese McNulty at St. Juliana Church on in Chicago on Monday, Mar. 24 at 7 p.m. A visitation at the church preceded the mass beginning at 5 p.m. at the church. Internment was private. McNulty was a resident of Des Plaines who died on Thursday, Mar. 20. She was 76 years old. McNulty is survived by her brother Rev. William J. McNulty, and many cousins and friends.

DOROTHY R. MERES
of Niles

A funeral service for Dorothy R. Meres, 76, of Niles, was held Wednesday, Mar. 26 at St. Mary of the Woods Church in Niles. Mrs. Meres was born April 2, 1931 and died Thursday, Mar. 20. She is survived by husband, Edward; children, Deborah Meres and Cheryl (Milan) Matheson; grandchildren, Bill and Julia Matheson. She is preceded in death by parents, Stanley and Rose Slowik.

JOAN M. MUDLOFF
of Mt. Prospect

A funeral service for Joan M. Mudloff, 66, of Mt. Prospect, was held Tuesday, Mar. 11 at Friedrichs Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect. Mrs. Mudloff (nee Moskus) was born July 11, 1941 and died Saturday, Mar. 9. She is survived by children, John (Debra) Mudloff, Joseph Mudloff and Julia Mudloff.; grandchildren, Jessica and Rachel.

EVELYN PETERS
of Mt. Prospect

funeral service for Evelyn D. Peters of Mt. Prospect, 90, was held Monday, Mar. 17, at Friedrichs Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect. She was born on Aug. 26, 1917 in Chicago. She passed away Thursday, Mar. 13 at Lexington Health Care in Lake Zurich. She was one of the first employees of Harper College, where she was the first person to retire after more than 10 years of service as an Administration assistant. She resided in Palatine for nine years and Mt. Prospect for 17 years. She also cared for animals. She is survived by her children, Wayne (Cathy), Judi (Bill) Wooster and Kenneth (Elizabeth); grandchildren, Katrina (Reno) Bernobich, Steven (Trisha) Peters, Scott (Shannon) Peters and Kristina Peters, Jason (Cary) Wooster, Heather Peters, Stephanie Miller, Jeffery Peters, Alison Miller, Geoffrey Miller, Steven Miller and Sarah Peters; great grandchildren, Savannah Bernobich and Dakota Wooster; and sister-in-law, Hazel Peters. Mrs. Peters was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold H. Interment was held at Acacia Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Save-a-Pet.

CAROL J. THORSEN
of Rolling Meadows

A funeral service for Carol J. Thorsen (nee Schmitt), 71, of Rolling Meadows, was held Tuesday, Mar. 25 at St. Colette Church in Rolling Meadows. She was born Nov. 12, 1936 and died Tuesday, Mar. 18. She worked as a customer service manager for Banton Book in Des Plaines, and High School Dist. 214 food services at Rolling Meadows High School for many years. She is survived by child, Charles (Kathy) Stack; grandchildren, Charles, Michelle (Michael) Riddle, Steven and Stacy Stack; great-grandchildren, Kathryn, Allison and Cathryn Riddle; siblings, Robert (Carole) Schmitt, Shirley (late Robert) Schoener, Florence Schmitt, Geraldine (late Dwight) Mezo. She is preceded in death by husband, Lawrence; sibling Nicholas Jr. (late Alice). Interment will be held at Memory Garden cemetery in Arlington Heights. In lieu of contributions can be made to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois.

HELEN O. WALLACE
Of Des Plaines

A funeral service for Helen O. Wallace, 93, of Des Plaines, was held Thursday, Mar. 27 at St. Stephen Church in Des Plaines. Mrs. Wallace (nee Bociek) was born Feb. 19, 1915 and died Monday, Mar. 24. She is survived by children, James (Denise) Wallace, Ronald (Annee) Wallace, Mary Anne Ehlert, Arlene (Marty) Wallace, Deborah (George) Collins and 12 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by husband, Roy; siblings Thomas and Henry Bociek; grandchildren, Jenna and Stephen. In lieu of donations can be made to Clearbrook 21st Century Club Endowment Fund.

DONALD J. WHEELER
of Arlington Hts.

Donald Joel Wheeler was born Feb. 13, 1926 to Nathan and Grace (nee Gerrie) Wheeler in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He died Mar. 3, 2008 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Hts. Mr. Wheeler was past commander of the Arlington Heights American Legion Post. He and his wife were members of the Arlington Squares for over 20 years. Survivors include his wife, Elaine (nee Mueller), whom he married Jan. 3, 1948; his children, Linda Ann (late Douglas) Hilton, David Joel Wheeler and Debra Lynn (Charles) McAtee; his grandchildren Rachel, Michelle, Susan, Rebecca and Theresa; and his great grandchildren Elliot and Andrew. Visitation was Thursday, Mar. 6 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., in Arlington Hts. Funeral service was on Friday, Mar. 7. Interment private. ANGELA M. WOODWARD
of Des Plaines

A funeral service for Angela M. Woodward, 90, of Des Plaines, will be held today (Wednesday), Mar. 26 at Friedrichs Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect. Mrs. Woodward (nee Couture) was born Mar. 6, 1918 and died Sunday, Mar. 16. She was a 27-year employee of Leaf Brands. She is survived by children, Joan (George) Riley, Nancy Woodward (Vincent Najdowski), Michael Woodward; grandchildren, Renee (Scott) Webb, Daniel Riley, Jaime (David) Henneman, Joseph Woodward. She is preceded in death by husband, Richard Woodward; siblings, Ernest (late Ruth) Couture; Maurice Couture, Lucille (late Frank) Calderone. In lieu of donations can be made to Friends of Our Lady of the Angels.

Lillian Balinski
Of Arlington Heights

A funeral service for Lillian H. Balinski (nee Kozak) of Arlington Heights, 81, was held Friday, Apr. 25 at Lauterburg and Oehler Funeral Home in Arlington Heights. She was born on Aug. 30, 1926, in Chicago. She passed away Wednesday, Apr. 23 at ManorCare Health Center in Arlington Heights. She is survived by her children, Kenneth A. (Cathy), Steve S. (Karen) and Bill J.; and grandchildren, Brian, Steve and Lisa. Mrs. Balinski was preceded in death by her husband, Clemence A.; and siblings, Chester and Celia Kozak. Interment was at St. Adalbert cemetery in Niles. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Ralph O. Beers
WWII Veteran Of Des Plaines

A funeral Mass for Ralph O. Beers, 88, formerly of Elk Grove Village, took place on Saturday, Apr. 26, at St. Zachary Church in Des Plaines. Interment was at All Saints cemetery in Des Plaines. Visitation was on Friday, Apr. 25, at Friedrichs Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect. Mr. Beers was born on May 12, 1919 in Hershey, Penn. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a retired janitor from Lattof YMCA in Des Plaines. He died on Apr. 21, 2008 at Holy Family Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Des Plaines. His parents, Catherine (nee Trostle) and Elmer Beers, and his seven siblings preceded him in death. His wife, Geraldine Beers (nee Fitzgibbons), his children Allen (Carla nee Pugh) Beers and Brian (Barbara nee D'Andrea) Beers; his grandchildren Carla-Jean (Andrew) Bryers, Reggie (Colleen Miller) Beers, Allen Beers Jr., and Adam Beers; and his 11 great-grandchildren survive him. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Zachary Church are appreciated.

Margaret H. Bosse

A memorial gathering for Margaret Helen Bosse, 88, a lifelong resident of the Chicago area, was held Apr. 16 in G.L. Hills Funeral Home. Interment was private. She died Apr. 9. Surviving are special friends Barbara Hoar and Fran Calabria, siblings Bert and Louise, and many nieces and nephews. A sister, Gertrude, preceded her in death. Memorials are requested to Rainbow Hospice, Park Ridge.

Of Arlington Heights

A private funeral service was held recently for Loretta Del Page of Arlington Heights, 87, at Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Heights. She is survived by her children, Ronald (Nancy) and Peter (Jill); grandchildren, Toni (Jim) Bourke, Michelle (Matt) Holland, Ron (Anna), Michael (Stacey), Lora, Albert, Peter and Jenny (Jeremy) Olson; great grandchildren, Ryan, Alec, Serena, Nicky, Joey, Matthew, Kaitlyn, Cameron, Vinnie, Louie and Ruth. Mrs. Del Page was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; and son, Albert Jr. Interment was also private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc. of Greater Chicago.
