A funeral service for La Rue C. Middleton (nee Glatfelter) of Rolling Mar. 17, at Meadows Funeral Home. Visitation was held the day before. Mrs. Middleton died Wednesday, Mar. 14 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. Mrs. Middleton was a member and volunteer of the Rolling Meadows Senior Center. She is survived by her children Pamela (Karl) Fennig, Richard (Merle) and David (Linda); 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; siblings Violet Fitzgerald and Myrtle Pedersen. Mrs. Middleton was preceded in death by her husband George; mother Elizabeth and father George; and sister Mildred Huart. The interment was held at Fairview Memorial Park in Northlake. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.

CLARENCE MILLER
Of Arlington Heights

A funeral service for Clarence F. Miller of Arlington Heights, 95, was held Friday, Mar. 9, at St. Edna Catholic Church. Visitation was held the day before at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. in Arlington Heights. 12, 1911 in Chicago. He died Tuesday, Mar. 6 at his home. He is survived by his wife Ruth M. (nee Duhnson), children Joanne (Steven) Walczynski, Gerald (Patricia), Jeanne (Anthony) Hartmann and James, grandchildren Tim, Chris, Jeff, Jon, Mike, Denise, Lauri, Mike, Lisa, Michelle, Dan, Bridget, Monica, Brian, Katie, Robb and Anne, great grandfather of 25, sister, Lorraine (Leonard) Gorski, daughter-in-law Gertrude Miller and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his son John, father Joseph F. and mother Theresa (nee Lalowski). The interment was held at All Saints cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Family Home Health Service, 2171 Executive Dr. Suite 500, Addison, IL 60101.

NAOMI A. MINOGUE
Of Elk Grove Village

A funeral service for Naomi A. Minogue, 71, of Elk Grove Village, was held on Wednesday, Mar. 14 at Queen of the Rosary Church. Visitation took place on Tuesday, Mar. 13 at Grove Memorial Chapel. Interment was at Acacia Park cemetery. Ms. Minogue was born in Canton, Mass. She was a retired employee of Elk Grove Township where she worked as assistant directory of general assistance and was also a Republican precinct captain. She died on Mar. 10 at her home. She is preceded in death by her husband John P., parents James F. and Claire Doody and brothers James and Bill Doody. Ms. Minogue is survived by sons James (Nicole), John and Joseph (Bridget) Minogue, daughters Karin (Joe) Hamilton and Kelli (Jack) Carlson, grandchildren Erin, Connor, Madelyn, Olivia, Katie, Ryan, Sean, Kristi, Alex, Courtney and Devin and niece Michelle Sharpe.

VIRGINIA M. MORROW
of Elk Grove Village

A funeral service and visitation for Virginia M. Morrow nee Englebrecht, 68, of Elk Grove Village, took place today (Monday) at Grove Memorial Chapel. Interment at Calvary cemetery. Mrs. Morrow passed away on Thursday, Mar. 15 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her dear siblings, Jean Walczak and Billy Englebrecht. She is survived by her loving children, Julie A. (Vergis Eiland) Morrow, Paul J. (Tammy) Morrow, and John J. Morrow. Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society appreciated.

WILMA L. PETERS
Of Mt. Prospect

A funeral service for Wilma L. Peters (nee Chiasson), 80, of Mt. Prospect took place at the St. Joseph's Home Chapel in Palatine. Interment in Abraham Lincoln National cemetery. Mrs. Peters was born Sept. 14, 1926 in Island River, New Brunswick, Canada. She was a retiree of Carson Pirie Scott and a 20-year volunteer at St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly. She passed away Thursday, Mar. 1 at Lee Manor in Des Plaines. She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Edmund C. Peters, her beloved son Scott Peters, and her dear siblings Alida Boudreau, May Goudreau, Janine O'Malley, Maurice "Moe" Chiasson, and Ernest Chiasson. She was fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Memorials to Clearbrook Center for the Handicapped, 3802 Wilke Rd., Rolling Meadows, Ill. Funeral arrangements made by Cremation Society of Illinois.

LOTTIE ANN PIEKARZ
Of Des Plaines

A funeral service for Lottie Ann Piekarz, 83, took place Monday, Mar. 12, at St. Zachary Church. Ms. Piekarz was born on Mar. 2, 1924 in Chicago. She died on Wednesday, Mar. 7, at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. She worked as a homemaker. Ms. Piekarz was survived by children Gloria Kuhn, Char Carpenter and Lee (Cindy) Piekarz, grandchildren Nancy (Craig) Machendrie, Steven, Adam, Bradley (Kim), Jason (Kim), Sarah and Andrew, great grandchildren Rhiannon, Ashley and Tristan, and brother Ted Rompala. She was also the aunt of many. She was preceded in death by her mother Emily (Mikos) Rompala, father Walter Rompala, husband Stanley Piekarz, and other brothers.

SARAH PIRAINO
Of Rolling Meadows

A funeral service for Sarah J. Piraino (nee Curcio) of Rolling Meadows, 82, will be held at St. Colette Church. Mrs. Piraino was born on Nov. 18, 1924 in Chicago. She died at Manor Care of Rolling Meadows, Mar. 11. She is survived by her husband Sam, daughter Janet, siblings Madeline Speice, Jeanette Sansone, Margaret (Jack) Murray, Anthony (Yvonne) Curcio and Thomas Machione, also many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Piraino was preceded in death by her father Sam and mother Jeanette. The interment will be held at St. Joseph cemetery in River Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Buddy Foundation.

MAUREEN T. ROWE

A funeral service for Maureen Tracy Rowe, 58, of Park Ridge was held on Friday, Mar. 9 at Cooney Funeral Home. Visitation was held on Thursday, Mar. 8 at the funeral home. Interment was private. Ms. Rowe died on Mar. 5, 2007. She is preceded in death by her husband Herman, father Harold Tracy, sister Karen Behrendt. Ms. Rowe is survived by her mother Marjorie, step-children Kenn (Ellen) and Dennis Rowe, niece Tracy Staszak (Michael), grandchildren Bobby Rowe and great-nephews Jack and Matthew. OLIVE THIRLWELL

A visitation for Olive Auriel Thirlwell nee Cornforth, 79, of Rolling Meadows will take place today (Thursday) from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Meadows Funeral Home. Funeral service will be tomorrow (Friday) at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Memory Gardens cemetery in Arlington Hts. Ms. Thirlwell was born June 12, 1927 at Aldershot in Southhampton, England. She worked at Northwest Community Hospital as a nurse's aid for over 20 years. She passed away Monday, Mar. 12 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Hts. She is preceded in death by her husband John E. Thirlwell and her son John W. Thirlwell. She is survived by her grandchildren Michelle (Scott) Elliott, Kristine Wilk and Wendy Wilk, her great grandson John A. Elliott, and her sisters Veronica Tybik and Rosaline (Fred) Getty.

HELEN THOMAS
Of Arlington Heights

A funeral service for Helen L. Thomas (nee Beart) of Arlington Heights, 84, was held Friday, Mar. 9, at the Lutheran Home and Services. Visitation was held the day before at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. in Arlington Heights. Mrs. Thomas was born on Jan. 27, 1923 in Chicago. She died at Northwest Community Healthcare Center, Mar. 6. Mrs. Thomas used to live in Venice, Florida and Park Ridge. She is survived by her husband Mark, children David (Joanne) Suzan (Dennis) Paulson and Carolyn Bannister, grandchildren Gregory (Rhonda), Cynthia (William) Hutchison, Sally, Steven (Nancy) Paulson, Andrew (Alicia) Paulson and Jennifer Paulson, great grandchildren Hollie and Samantha Thomas, Elizabeth, David "Jack" and Hope Hutchison, Susan, Jacqueline and Lindsay Zienty and Max and Brooke Paulson, sisters Ruth York and Grace Juel and sister-in-law Helen Beart. Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents Ralph W. and Florence (nee Olson) and brother Robert. The interment was held at Little Sister cemetery in Sister Bay, WI. BETTY LOU BACHAR

A funeral service for Betty Lou J. Bachar (nee Alt), 80, took place Monday, Mar. 12, at the M.J. Suerth Funeral Home. Mrs. Bachar was born on Sept. 3, 1926 in Chicago. She died on Thursday, Mar. 8, at Oakton Arms of Oakton Place in Des Plaines. She had worked as a sales clerk in retail. Mrs. Bachar was survived by her children Janice (Tom) Wisocki, Wayne (Marilyn) and Robert (Corrine) Bachar, grandchildren Melissa (Tim) Miller, Laurie (Fred Thielemann) Bachar, Kristin (Todd) Schmidt, Karen (Scott) Weber, Daniel, Ellen and Peter Bachar, great grandchildren Cameron and Dylan Schmidt and Jacob Weber, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Anna M. Ciangi, 89, of Barrington, formerly of Elk Grove, was held on Saturday, Mar. 10 at St. Julian Eymard Church. Visitation took place on Saturday prior to the service at Grove Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at All Saints cemetery in Des Plaines. Ms. Ciangi was born in Chicago. She was a retired 20 year clerk at the Chicago Board of Trade. She was a member of the Sheila Ray Elk Grove Senior Center and the St. Julian Eymard Womans Club. She died on Mar. 7 at Alden Estates Nursing Center in Barrington. She is preceded in death by her husband Pat L., son Pat W., and siblings Josephine Porcello, Mary Monticello, Sam Patti, Angelo Patti, Tony Patti, Joe Patti and Jenny Lange. Ms. Ciangi is survived by her son Frank J. (late Karen), grandchildren Sherry L. (John) Frazier, Christine A. (Philip) Serra and Anthony P. and Michael Ciangi and great-grandchildren Hannah, Emily, Nick and Daniel. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer's Association.

DORIS A. EBERT

Doris A. Ebert (nee Juengel), 82, of Elk Grove Village passed away Monday, Mar. 5. at Manor Care in Elk Grove Village. A funeral service and visitation took place Friday, Mar. 9 at Grove Memorial Chapel. Burial was private. Mrs. Ebert is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Ernest Ebert, her loving children Paul (fiancé Debra Gentine) Ebert, Carol (Phillip) Thornton, her cherished grandchildren Jennifer, Rebecca, Charlotte, Meredith, and Marie, and her great granddaughter Eleanor.

JO ANN GARINGER
of Wood Dale

A funeral service and visitation for Jo Ann (nee Emory) Garinger, 78, of Wood Dale for 28 years, and formerly of Elk Grove Village for 22 years, took place Wednesday at Grove Memorial Chapel. Interment at Georgetown cemetery in Georgetown, Ill. Ms. Garinger was born in Ridge Farm, Ill. A second grade teacher at District 59's Rupley School of Elk Grove Village, she retired after 16 years in 1983. She was a member of the University of Indiana at Terra Haute. She died peacefully at her home on Monday, Mar. 12. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Philip J. Garinger and her dear father Edwin Emory. She is survived by her loving daughters Jennie A. (Joe) Brock and Janice L. Garinger, her dear mother Edna (nee Hart) Emory, and her cherished grandchildren Randi Losch, Jacie Brock, Joey Brock, Jake Brock, Jillian Brock, Jessica Brock, Jaclyn Brock, Raquel Radke, Salinas Radke, and Rylie Radke.

LORRAINE R. GODZICKI
of Glenview

Funeral services for Lorraine R. Godzicki, 87, of Glenview took place Thursday, Feb. 22 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home and St. John Brebeuf Church. Visitation was the previous day. Interment at Memory Gardens cemetery. Mrs. Godzicki is preceded in death by her husband Edward Godzicki, her daughter Glenn Godzicki, and her parents Rose (nee Nickraunt) Arendt and Frank Arendt. She is survived by her daughters Candace Chittenden and Kimberly Ellinger, her grandchildren Paige, Nicholas, Vanessa, Denise, Leslie, and Aleece, and her brother Ralph (Irene) Arendt.

PHILIP A. MADURI
of Rosemont

Rosemont resident Philip A. Maduri died Tuesday, Feb. 27 after a long illness. He was 86. Maduri was a respected member of the Rosemont and Des Plaines communities later in life. He lived in the Rosemont Senior Complex during his last years. He was born in Chicago on Dec. 21, 1920. He grew to serve as a Marine in World War II and later worked for the City of Chicago in the Department of Streets and Sanitation. Maduri was an avid dancer and he and his late brother Jerry were well known for ballroom dancing. He was also well respected in the Italian American Community. He is survived by his brother Paul (Caroline) Maduri and nieces Joanna and Maria Maucieri. He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Angelina (Lupo); brothers Dominck, Jerry and his sister Joanna Maucieri. Services were held Friday, Mar. 2 at St. Emily Catholic Church with interment in Mt. Carmel cemetery in Hillside. Arrangements were handled by Severino's River Woods Funeral Chapels of Des Plaines.

MARGARET RAGUSA
Formerly of Hoffman Estates

A funeral service for Margaret M. Ragusa (nee Polito), 85, took place Friday at Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church in Niles. Visitation was held at Oehler Funeral Home. Entombment will be held at All Saints Mausoleum. Mrs. Ragusa was born Dec. 18, 1921. She died Monday Mar. 5. She was a homemaker and a former resident of Hoffman Estates. She is survived in death by her children Marie Corso, Peter (Nikki), Joseph (Kathy) and Ninette (Henry) Machnik, eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mrs. Ragusa was preceded in death by her husband Benny. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the charity of your choice is appreciated.

CLINTON REID
Of Arlington Heights

A funeral service for Clinton Reid, 42, took place on Saturday, Mar. 9, at the St. John United Church of Christ. Mr. Reid was born May 18, 1964 in Chicago. He died on Wednesday, Mar. 7, at Northwest Community Hospital. He worked as an accountant for Versus Partners Real Estate for many years. Mr. Reid was survived by his partner Christopher Keivit, father Milton Reid, and siblings Linda, Cheryl and Carol Reid, Deborah Sistrunk, Rosemary Beatty and Floyd Reid. He was preceded in death by his mother Dolores Reid. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to AMFAR or the St. John United Church Capital Improvement Fund are appreciated.

A funeral service for Eufrosina "Florence" Serafini, of Des Plaines, formerly of Mt. Prospect, was held on Thursday, Mar. 8 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church. Visitation was held on Wednesday, Mar. 7 at Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Heights. Entombment was at All Saints cemetery. Mrs. Serafini was born on Feb. 17, 1912 in Lucca, Italy. She was a homemaker for her family. She died on Sunday, Mar. 4, 2007 at Oakton Pavilion in Des Plaines. She is preceded in death by her husband Natalino, son Richard "Dick" (Denise), grandchild Ricky Biancalana and brother Connie (Fosca) Rossi. Mrs. Serafini is survived by children Angela (Larry) Biancalana and Victor Serafini, grandchildren Christopher (Rae) Serafini and Julie (Rudy) Presta, great-grandchildren Marco and Lindi Presta and Massimo Serafini, nephew Eric Rossi and great niece Tina.
