Burial will be at Bethania Cemetery in Justice. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Calderon was born on Nov. 6, 1949 in Mexico. He was an order filler for a stockyard meat packer. Mr. Calderon is survived by two daughters, Ruth Lartza and Miroslava Calderon; two sons, Adalberto C. Calderon and Martin A. Calderon; and three brothers, Luz Calderon, Manuel Calderon and Luis Angel Calderon.

Phillip Guerrero, 79, of Chicago's Roseland community, died Saturday at Concord Nursing Home. A funeral mass will be said at 10 a.m. today at St. Anthony Church, 11533 S. Prairie Ave., Chicago. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Worth. Mr. Guerrero was born on May 1, 1921 in Galesburg, Ill. He was a draftsman by trade and was employed for many years until his retirement by C.E. Raymond and Co. Architectural Firm. He was a World War II veteran who served in the Army's 96th Division Reconnaissance and Intelligence Unit. Mr. Guerrero is survived by a sister, Marie Mandujano, and many nieces and nephews.

She was a part-time sales clerk with Marshall Fields and Sears in Park Forest. She was also a member of St. Irenaeus Church and Garden Club in Park Forest. Mrs. Hebert is survived by her husband, Robert P. Hebert; three daughters, Karen Karl, Patricia Ohnstad and Michelle Supler; a son, David Hebert; three brothers, Paschal LoBianco, Louis LoBianco and Joseph LoBianco. Mr. Heckler was born on Sept. 12, 1923 in Chicago. He was a resident of Blue Island since he was 5 years old. Mr. Heckler served in the Army Air Corps in World War II and was a former court clerk for Cook County. He formerly worked for Watlands and Visual Craft in Blue Island. Mr. Heckler was a member of American Legion Post 50, was a former Blue Island alderman and was a member of the Blue Island Kiwanis. Mr. Heckler is survived by his wife, Elaine Heckler; seven daughters, Sharon Lee, Janice Errico, Carol Kenrath, Barbara Foy, Susan Becker, Marlene Ramirez and Laurie Benegas; a son, Brian Heckler; a brother, Gerald Heckler; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Gustav G. "Gus" Carlson, 79, of Palos Park, died May 25. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, 12219 86th Ave., Palos Park. Mr. Carlson was the former owner of Calumet Tool Co. of Chicago. He also served over 27 years as a volunteer fire department captain for Palos and Palos Heights fire protection districts. He was one of the first paramedics for the Palos Heights district. In 1950, Mr. Carlson was a founding member of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Palos Park. He was recognized last year at the church's 50th year celebration. Mr. Carlson also was an active member of the Theater of Western Springs for over 20 years. Mr. Carlson is survived by his wife, Josie; two daughters, Sharon Kozbiel and Susan Merritt; a stepdaughter, Caroline Allenson Manrique; a stepson, David Allenson; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a stepgranddaughter. Memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in memory of Gustav Carlson.

Dominick L. Ferro, 82, of Crestwood, formerly of Palos Heights, died Thursday at the Lexington Care Center in Orland Park. A funeral mass will be said at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Incarnation Church, 5757 W. 127th St., Palos Heights. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Becvar & Son Funeral Home, 5539 W. 127th St., Crestwood. Mr. Ferro was born Oct. 23, 1918, in Chicago. He lived in Palos Heights for 27 years before moving to Crestwood five years ago. Mr. Ferro was retired, having worked at Blue M Electric in Blue Island and Affiliated Steam Equipment in Crestwood. Mr. Ferro was honorably discharged from the Marines in August 1941 but decided to enlist in the Navy after Japan attacked the United States at Pearl Harbor in December of that year. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; four sons, John Sr. of Crestwood, Bill of Scottsdale, Ariz., Dominick Ferro of Kihei, Maui and Gregory of Homer Glen; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St., Chicago Heights. Mrs. Guerrero was born Aug. 4, 1936, in Jacksonville, Fla. She was a waitress at Camadeca's Restaurant and Catering in Roseland and Burnham for 30 years before she retired in 1983. Mrs. Guerrero was also a member of the Ladies and Social Club at St. John's and served on the board and as a volunteer at the Cancer Center in Homewood. Her husband, Ecequiel "Chico" Guerrero, died six months ago on Dec. 2. She is survived by two sons, David of Oak Lawn and Bernard of Chicago; two daughters, Charlotte Stick of Homewood and Christine Cole of Steger; and nine grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Wladyslawa Hola (nee Harkabuzik); two daughters, Christine Kula and Anna Hola; one son, Stanislaw; one brother, Wladyslaw; one sister, Maria Kotlarz; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Berton F. Legg, 80, of Ann Arbor, Mich., formerly of Oak Lawn and Orland Park, died Saturday in Michigan. Funeral services will be held in Michigan. Mr. Legg was born July 15, 1920, in St. Paul, Minn. He grew up in West Fargo, N.D., and Chicago. He graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a bachelor's in mechanical engineer in 1944. He was an active member of the Huron Hills Baptist Church in Ann Arbor, Mich., where he taught Sunday school and led Bible studies. While he lived in the Chicago area, Mr. Legg was a member of First Christian Church in Oak Lawn where he served as an elder and helped to design a new church building. Mr. Legg is survived by his wife, Angela; a son, Thomas Xydis; a son-in-law, Bruce Watt; and six grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were made by Muehlig Funeral Chapel.

George Miller

George Miller, 77, of Winter, Wis., and formerly of Chicago's East Side, died May 26. A memorial service is pending in Wisconsin. Mr. Miller was born in 1924 in Chattanooga, Tenn. When he was 17, he enlisted in the Navy and received four medals from four major battles in the South Pacific. Mr. Miller was an electrical operator at Commonwealth Edison for more than 30 years. He retired to Wisconsin in 1984. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dora; three daughters, Margaret Anita, Lynn Raketic and Gail Marlo; two sons, George Jr. and James Miller; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She lived in Palos Heights the past four years. In 1936, she started working at Crane Co. in Chicago where she assisted in manufacturing plumbing fixtures. She retired 40 years later. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

William J. Murphy Jr., 48, a longtime member of Chicago's Beverly/Morgan Park community, died Tuesday at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago. A funeral mass will be said at 10 a.m. today at St. Barnabas Church, 10100 Longwood Drive, Chicago. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park. Arrangements were handled by King Brothers Directors. Mr. Murphy was the owner of Andee Boiler and Welding Co. at 76th and State streets. The business was in his family for several years. He attended St. Barnabas Grammar School and Brother Rice High School. He also attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis. He was a founding member of Cara's Care Foundation, a member of B.P.O.E. Chicago Lodge 1596 and a member of the Boiler and Tank Contractors of Illinois. Mr. Murphy is survived by his mother, Dorothy Murphy; two sisters, Madonna Murphy and Joy Reiner; five brothers, Jeffrey, Brian, Joseph, Timothy and Terrence Murphy; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Donald J. Roche, 80, of Lake San Marcos, Calif., formerly of downstate Emington and Dwight, died Wednesday at the Escondido (Calif.) Care Center. A funeral mass will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dwight. Burial will be at Round Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hager Memorial Home in Dwight. Mr. Roche was born April 20, 1921, in Campus, Ill. He and his late brother Leo published five downstate newspapers. Mr. Roche was a fourth degree Knights of Columbus, was in the Kiwanis Club of Lake San Marcos and delivered Meals on Wheels for several years. He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II, was stationed in China, Burma and India and eventually received the Silver Cross. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet; four daughters, Donna Frisella of Leona Valley, Calif., Kathleen Kallas of Pontiac, Diane Rothrock of Frankfort and Karen Archi of Everett, Wash.; three sisters, Bernice Stahler of Odell, Irene "Daah" Franey of Chatsworth and Lucille Guest of Naperville; and 12 grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave., Orland Park. Mr. Rohrer was born Nov. 19, 1927, in Chicago. He lived in Orland Park the past 20 years. Mr. Rohrer was a buyer for the Ford Motor Co. He worked there for 31 years before retiring in 1982. He served in the Marines from July 1945 to July 1949, was former commander of Markham VFW Post 9801 and was a member of the 2nd Voice Club. He is survived by his wife, Betty; two daughters, Margie Lenz of New Lenox and Kathleen Perno of Fairfax Station, Va.; two sons, Jack and Michael, both of Homewood; two sisters, Peg Murphy of Oak Lawn and Eleanor Conwell of Chicago; and nine grandchildren.

Hans W. Johnson, 101, of Alsip, died Wednesday at Christ Hospital and Medical Center in Oak Lawn. A chapel service will be held at 10 a.m. today at Schmaedeke Funeral Home, 10701 S. Harlem Ave., Worth. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Blue Island. Mr. Johnson was born on Oct. 14, 1899, in Sweden. He was a cabinet maker who worked until he was 75 and lost his sight, according to his daughter, Lila Marek. "Dad was sharp as a tack," Mrs. Marek said. "And even though he was blind, Dad was an avid Cubs' fan, and he loved listening to sporting events. Monday night he was asking who the (Chicago) Bulls played next." Along with his daughter, Mr. Johnson is survived by two sons, Paul Johnson and Robert Johnson; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
