Gerald W. "Jerry" Meyer
Gerald W. "Jerry" Meyer, 59, of Hampshire passed away Sunday, June 1, 2003 in his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born at home December 31, 1943 in Bloomingdale Township, IL, the son of Elroy and Elsie (Zarndt) Meyer.
He was a 1961 graduate of Hampshire High School and served in the Army during the Vietnam War, receiving the Purple Heart. Jerry married Linda L Meier on February 3, 1968 at St. John Lutheran Church in Elgin. He was a life long farmer, operating a dairy farm in Hampshire and serving on the Board of the Dairy Herd Improvement Association, (DHIA). Mr. Meyer was a member of the St.Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church of North Plato and formerly of St. Peters Lutheran Church of Pingree Grove.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Linda; daughter Michelle Meyer and son, Michael Meyer both of Hampshire; a sister, Shirley Armand of Peoria, his twin brother, Harold (Ardith) Meyer; step mother, Meta Meyer; and mother-in-law, LaVerne Meier all of Hampshire.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his father-in-law, Erwin W. Meier.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, June 5, 2003 at the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 43W301 Plank Rd., North Plato with the Rev. Howard Gleason officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Hampshire Center cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 PM Wednesday at the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church and prior to services on Thursday form 10 to 11 AM.
Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the Provena St. Joseph Hospital Care-A-Van, Hampshire Paramedics or the Fox Valley Hospice.
Fredrick Funeral Home of Hampshire is in charge of arrangements, (847) 683-2711.

Cynthia Lee Mowry-Grandt (nee Miller)
Cynthia Lee Mowry-Grandt (nee Miller), of Genoa, IL, formerly of Elgin/Algonquin quietly passed away at Provena St. Joseph Hospital with her family at her side, May 28, 2003.
Visitation will be at O'Connor & Homeier Funeral Home on Thursday, June 5, 2003 from 11 AM to 1 PM with a Memorial service to follow. For info: 847-741-1400

Raymond G. Ulrich
Raymond G. Ulrich, 86, of Elgin, passed away Monday, June 2, 2003. He was born October 5, 1916 in Philadelphia, PA and was the son of George and Elizabeth Ulrich. After his retirement, Ray had owned and operated Rolling Ray Express, an independent delivery service. He volunteered at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Food Pantry for several years. Ray was very proud of his job, and took great pride in his service. "Dad your work is complete."
Survivors include five children, Carole Ann (Leon) Helmer of Madison, WI, Mary Elizabeth (Frank) Stout of La Valle, WI, James (Theresa) Ulrich of Elgin, Margaret Ann (Don) Hennesse of FL, Steve (Theresa) Ulrich of Baraboo, WI; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; his brother, Don (Cass) Ulrich of CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Mildred Ulrich.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Thomas More Catholic Church, with Rev. Geoffrey Wirth officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Thomas More Catholic Church or the Food Pantry at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Laird Funeral Homes, Elgin and West Dundee is handling services.

Gladys Boncosky
Gladys Boncosky, 91, of Sun City, AZ, formerly of Elgin passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at Boswell Memorial Hospital, Sun City. She was born February 25, 1913 in Big Rock, IL, the daughter of Chris and Marle Jensen Jorgensen. She had been a resident of Elgin for most of her life and have been a resident of Sun City since 1974.
She was a member of Lakeview United Methodist Church of Sun City and a former member of Cornerstone Methodist Church (Faith United Methodist Church), Elgin.
Surviving are her daughter, Mary Ann (Bob) Parkman of Nederland, Texas; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, May Chesak of Huntley, IL and Marie Boncosky of Crystal Lake; a daughter-in-law, Marlene Boncosky of Crystal Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Martin; her son, Richard; two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Paul Meyers and Rev. Dale Kleinschmidt officiating. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be given to International Essential Tremor Foundation, P.O. Box 14005, Lenoxa, Kansas 66285 or the charity of one's choice.

Wilbert Meier
Wilbert Meier, 91, of Elgin passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2004 in Rosewood Care Center. He was born November 11, 1912 in Arlington Heights, IL and was the son of William and Alma Meier. He had been a resident of Elgin for most of his life and had been employed by Elgin Realty for many years before retiring.
He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.
Surviving are one sister, Loraine Briggs of Clearwater, Florida; one brother, Harry (Katherine) Meier of Huntsville, Alabama; a special friend, Dawn Theis of Elgin; two nieces, Barbara Fredrickson and Beth Wright; three nephews, Thomas and Robert Briggs and Lee Meier.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Adele Bieckel.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 4 at 1:30 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 State St., Elgin with Rev. James Fandrey officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Calvary Lutheran Church.

George Mac Donald Fehrmann
George Mac Donald Fehrmann, 85, of Elgin passed away Saturday, June 2, 2001 at Heritage Manor, Elgin.
He was born Nov. 9, 1915 in South Elgin, the son of John and Patricia Brown Fehrmann.
He was a retired Mortician from Reber Mortuary and Paint Salesman. Active in Christian Service Brigade at Elgin Bible Church. Former member of Elgin Toastmaster's club and served in the Army Medical Corps in the Pacific Theater in WWII.
Survivors include his wife, Lois, whom he married June 1, 1946; three children, Paul (Virginia) Gordon of Ohio, Kevin (Nancy) Mac Donald of California and Glenna Ma Fehrmann of Elgin; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Fehrmann of Ohio; a sister, Louise Sevall of Wisconsin; two nephews, Jon Sevall of Wisconsin and Don Sevall of Texas; and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon; and a sister, Monetta Wahlberg.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m., Friday in the Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin, the Rev. Phil Congdon officiating. Burial will be private in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elgin Bible Church.

Frieda E. Krause
Frieda E. Krause, 92, of South Elgin passed away Sunday, June 3, 2001 in the Carrington Care Center, South Elgin.
She was born March 28, 1909 in Dundee, the daughter of Ernest and Marie Eicksteadt.
She had been a resident of Elgin and South Elgin most of her life. She was a member of the Jehovahs Witnesses Kingdom Hall of Elgin.
Survivors include her two sons,LaVerne Krause of South Elgin andDonald (Bonnie) Krause of Elburn; two grandchildren, Donald Krause and Lisa (Shawn) Simmons; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert in 1971; and several sisters and brothers.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home.

Betty A. Moll
Betty A. Moll, 62, of Rockford died Saturday, June 2, 2001 in O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 4, 1938 in Chicago, the daughter of Louis and Dorothy (Jarvis) Moll.
She lived three years in Rockford coming from Carpentersville.
Survivors include two brothers, Paul (Connie) Moll of Rockford and Richard (Pat) Moll of Madison, Wis.; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and many special friends including those who were at the hospital day and night with Betty.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2001 in St. Edward Catholic Church, 3026 11th St., Rockford, Fr. James R. Keenan officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine, Machesney Park, Ill.

Elsie D. Rudsinski
Elsie D. Rudsinski, 86, of Marengo died Sunday, June 3, 2001 at Valley-Hi Nursing Home, Hartland.
She was born Sept. 9, 1914 in Millington, Ill., the daughter of Martin and Lilly McBratney Dierzen.
Survivors include her husband, Ervin H. Rudsinski, whom she married on Dec. 7, 1935 in Woodstock; two daughters, Carrol (Dwaine) Dannewitz of Sandwich and Charlene (Dan) Rudy of Marengo; three sons, Larry (Judy) of Orland Park, Ronnie (Gail) of Tucson, Ariz. and Terry Rudsinski of Rockford; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Albert and Larry Dierzen.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m., Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, 412 E. Jackson, Marengo, the Rev. Glen Borhart officiating. Interment will be in Marengo cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2001 and from 12 noon until the time of services in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
Marengo-Union Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Theresa Leone Starr
Theresa Leone Starr, of Carpentersville passed away Saturday, June 1, 2001 at her daughter's residence.
She was born August 28, 1918 in Sharpsburg, PA, the daughter of Joseph and Rose Pugliese Leone.
She was a longtime member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Carpentersville, where she served as a Deaconess and member of the Women's Fellowship. A member of the Fox River Rebekah Lodge for many years, known as "Grandma" to the members of the Imperial Scots Band from 1984 to 1990.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jane (Albert) Beelow of Elgin; grandmother of Deborah (Philip) Pierce, James (Mary) Beelow, Susan (Chad) Woodfall and Terry Beelow; great grandmother of five; also survived by five sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marshall in 1985; a son, James in 1953; and three brothers.
Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2001 in the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 30 N. Washington St., Carpentersville with Rev. Kris Hewitt officiating. Interment will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 PM Tuesday in the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Provena Hospice or to First Congregation Church, U.C.C., Carpentersville, IL, 60110.
Arrangements were handled by the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee, 847-426-3436.
