Wallace Edward "Pete" Gibbs
A memorial service for Wallace Edward "Pete" Gibbs, 44 of Elgin will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at O'Connor & Homeier Funeral Home, 364 Division St., Elgin, IL.
Born January 8, 1959 in Middleton, Tennesee, Pete passed away at his home in Elgin on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 surrounded by his family. He enjoyed a position as a Journeyman insulation installer for the past 15 years with Deckert & Associates and A.S.C. Insulation. Pete was a member of New Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Middleton, TN.
Pete was a friend and partner to his wife Sharon Marie (Young) Gibbs for the past 21 years. He was also a friend and role model to his son Joshua Edward Gibbs for the past 18 years; loving son of Jesse E. and Annie Pearl (Willis) Gibbs; sibling to four sisters and four brothers. He was an Uncle to many Nieces and Nephews, Cousins, Son-in-Law and Brother-in-Law. Pete was a friend to and a friend of many.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Loyd.
Memorial Service will be officiated by Reverend Gene Shields.

George R. "Bud" Knutter
George R. "Bud" Knutter, 76, of Forreston, formerly of Huntley, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2003 in Elgin, IL.
He was born October 16, 1926 in Huntley the son of Bernard and Mathilda (Koppen) Knutter. He was a WWII Army Veteran. Bud married Maida M. "Boots" Dalby on March 19, 1947 in Woodstock.
He farmed in the Huntley area until retiring to the Forreston area in 1993. Mr. Knutter was a Farm Bureau member and a former member of the First Congregational Church of Huntley.
Surviving are his daughter, Pamela (Larry) Koesche of Elgin; four grandchildren, Eric Koesche of Elgin, Penny (James) Brown and Amy (Michael) Pierce both of Lake in the Hills, and Amanda (Brian) Jakuowicz of Woodstock; four great-grandchildren, Chloe and Makenna Brown, Haven Jakubowicz, Trevor Pierce; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Knutter was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Maida on July 30, 2002; daughter Cynthia Brumm on August 23, 1999; three sisters, Alice Remus, Elizabeth Strissel, and Irma Meyer; four brothers, Herbert, Alfred, Lester and John Knutter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26 at the James A. O'Connor Funeral Home, 11603 E. Main St., Huntley with the Rev. Norman Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the Huntley cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Assoc.

Philip E. McNeil
Philip E. McNeil, 24, of South Elgin passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2003 in Gilroy, California.
He was born September 11, 1978 in Elgin, the son of Steven and Luann Hansen McNeil.
He had bee a resident of the South Elgin and Elmwood Park area for most of his life. He was employed by Wind Walkers Motorcycle Shop in Naperville. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his father, Seven McNeil of South Elgin; his mother, Luann McNeil of Cape Coral, FL.; three sisters, Kerrie (Chris) Fay of Sycamore, Holly Staley-McNeil and Rachel Staley both of South Elgin; three brothers, Frank McNeil and Michael (Mandie) Sommers both of South Elgin and Matthew Staley of Portland, Oregon; six nieces and nephews; and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Hansen of Elgin.
He was preceded in death by a step sister, Courtenay Hayworth; paternal grandfather, Robert McNeil; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth McNeil; and a niece, Cassidy Sommers.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 28, 2003 at 10 AM at the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 9 PM in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.

Ruth E. Radde
Ruth E. Radde, 88, of Athens, Georgia, formerly of Hampshire, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2003.
She was born January 19, 1915 in Hampshire the daughter of Clyde and May (Barnes) Waidman. Ruth married Harold E. Radde on July 15, 1939 in Elgin and they resided in Hampshire for many years before moving to Athens, Georgia to be near their son.
Mrs. Radde had been employed at the former J.B. Inderieden Canning Co. and at Playskool Mfg. in Hampshire. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors of America for over 60 years.
Surviving are her son David (Karen) Radde of Bishop, Georgia; sister Dorothy Jeanne Olsen of Green Lake, WI; grandchildren Kristen Radde-Gallwitz and Eric Radde both of Atlanta, GA and her niece Melodee Garcia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Harold on August 17, 2002.
Funeral services will be held at the Lord and Stephens Funeral Home in Athens, Georgia.
Local visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., in Hampshire.
Private burial of cremains will be in the Hampshire Center cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia or to the Habitat for Humanity, c/o P.O. Box 445, Hampshire, IL 60140.

Frances M.E. Stueve
Frances M.E. Stueve, age 94, of Wayne, died Sunday at her daughter's home in Gurnee.
She was born December 13, 1908 in Newark, IL.
Mrs. Stueve had been a resident of Wayne for 84 years and had been the town's Post Master for 27 years before retiring in 1973. She also was a memberof the Women's Club of Wayne and the Little Home Church by the Wayside.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Robert) Owen of Gurnee; two grandchildren, Julie (Dewey) Remington of Denver, Colorado and Jon Owen of Gurnee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry and a sister, Freida Pauley.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2003 at the Little Home Church by the Wayside. Rev. Ron Purser officiating. Burial will be at Bluff City cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held an hour before the funeral service at the church. Contributions may be made to the Little Home Church by the Wayside, 32W128 Army Trail Rd. Wayne, IL.

William E. "Butch" Tucker
William E. "Butch" Tucker, 62 of Lindenwood, IL, formerly of Elgin, died Sunday, June 22 at his home in Lindenwood. He was born November 30, 1940 in Elgin to Lewis and Zora (Brown) Tucker.
William had been employed as a limo driver for H & M Limo Service in Dundee. He had served in the Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Maggie (Brewton) Tucker, whom he married on November 30, 1985; a son, William E. (Donna) Lux of Carpentersville; four step-sons, Clifford Borrema, George (Alice) Borrema both of St. Charles, Charles (Beth) Borrema of Lindenwood, and Ralph (Terri) Borrema of Rochelle; a daughter, Diane M. (Steve) Rhodes of Elgin; two step-daughters, Margaret (Robert) Streit of Esmond and Nelear (Kevin) Elsworth of Molden, MO; two brothers, Kenneth (Janice) Tucker and Steven (RoseAnn) Tucker, both of Elgin; four sisters, Lois (Gene) Boehne of Plato Center, Ruth (Raymond) Cotham of Elgin, Judy (Norm) Cotham of Wilmington, and Florence (Mike) Fierke of Elgin; twenty grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wallace.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 25 at 12:00 noon at Wait Ross Allanson Elgin Funeral Chapel. Burial will take place at Bluff City cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 24 between 4-8 p.m. at the chapel and after 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday until the services.

Rachel Brianne Phelps
Rachel Brianne Phelps, infant daughter of Tina and Timothy (Swider) Phelps, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2003 in St. Alexius Medical Center, Hoffman Estates, IL.
She is survived by her loving parents of Elgin; her sister, Sarah Phelps; and her many family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her uncle, Brian Swider.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2003 at 10:30 AM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Burial will be private.

Dorothea M. Pokras-Christ
Dorothea M. Pokras-Christ, 82, of Elgin passed away Monday, June 23, 2003 at Rush North Shore Medical Center, Skokie.
She was born April 25, 1921 in Chicago, the daughter of Fred and Emma Ostrowski Meyer.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin.
Survivors include her husband, Edward; a daughter, Sue Voss; and grandchildren, Josef S. Puehringer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband of 54 years, Samuel Pokras.
Services will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Elgin on Saturday at 11 AM. Burial will be private.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
