Frances Mary Struck
Frances Mary Hintz Struck, 86, of Roselle passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2001 in the Bloomingdale Pavilion Care Center.
She was born April 2, 1915 in Chicago, the daughter of Anthony and Mary Kmiec Hintz.
She had been a resident of Roselle for the past 15 years.
Survivors include two daughters,Marianne Wallace of California and Carol (Gary) Feiock of South Dakota; two sons, Gerald (Judy) Struck of Elgin and Daniel (Mary Jane) Struck of Hanover Park; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Julia Scaletta of Springfield, Mo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; a sister, Irene Hintz; and two brothers, Louis and Stanley Hintz.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m., Sunday, July 1, 2001 in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, the Rev. Francis McDonald officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be 12 noon, Sunday until the time of services in the funeral home.

Joanne E. Wells
Joanne E. Wells, 60, of South Elgin, formerly of West Dundee died Thursday, June 28, 2001 in Carrington Care Center, South Elgin.
She was born Jan. 4, 1941 in Chicago, the daughter of Edwin and Agnes (nee Solomasen) Wells.
She was a registered nurse, training at Grant Hospital School of Nursing and was retired from Alexian Brothers Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Randall Shreve and Christopher Shreve, both of Elgin; two daughters, Robin (David) O'Donnell and Pamela Shreve, both of Elgin; and six grandchildren, Danielle, Anthony, Samantha and JacobO'Donnell, Nicholas Shreve andBenjamin Burge.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial Services will be 7 p.m., Monday, July 2 in the Wait Ross Allanson Elgin Chapel, the Rev. Ralph McFadden officiating.
Visitation will be 6 p.m., Monday until the time of services in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Leo P. Hopp
Leo P. Hopp, age 83 of Algonquin, passed away Saturday June 28, 2003 in Sherman Hospital. He was born April 21, 1920 in Algonquin to John and Anna (Fritz) Hopp.
Leo farmed in the Algonquin area all his life and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Algonquin.
Survivors are his wife, Helen (Rudsinski) Hopp, who he married in 1945; five daughter, Myra (Glenn) Olofson of Algonquin, Joanne (Allen) Reemer of Hoffman Estates, Elaine (Lloyd) Hopkins of Carpentersville, Janet Ford of Lake in the Hills, and Ellen (Roger) Olsen of DeKalb; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; ten brothers, William, John, Vernon, Leslie, Theodore, Floyd, Harold, Elmer, Richard and Carl; three sisters, Vera Gilbertson, Evelyn Zimmerman and Leone Munch.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday July 2, 2003 at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main St., Algonquin. Rev. William Stroup of St. John's Lutheran Church of Algonquin will officiate. Place of burial will be at Algonquin cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday July 1 at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral Home in Algonquin. Memorials can be sent to St. John's Lutheran Church Algonquin.

Bruce E. Riley
Bruce E. Riley, 56, of Elgin passed away Thursday, June 26, 2003 at Hines V.A. Hospital, Hines, IL. He was born November 7, 1946 in Elgin, the son of John and Ruth Erixson Riley. He had been a resident of Elgin for all of her life. He was a graduate of Larkin High School. He was employed by V.F.W. Post 1307 of Elgin. He was a veteran of U.S. Army serving in Vietnam. He was a life member of VFW Post 1307 where he was in charge of the honor guard.
Surviving are his mother, Ruth Riley of Elgin, two sons, Julian Riley of Rockford and John Riley of Elgin, daughter Agatha Riley of Elgin, two grandchildren, three sisters, Bonnie Calhoun of Cary, Suzane (Edwin) Borter of Crystal Lake, Wendy Riley of Maui, HI, one brother, Hobart (Florence) Riley of Carpentersville and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 1, at 10 a.m. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Paul Meyers officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Visitation will be held Monday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the VFW Cancer Fund or Milestone Inc. 4060 McFarland Rd., Rockford, IL 61111.

John R. Sommerfeldt
John R. Sommerfeldt, 82, of South Elgin passed away Saturday, June 28 in Sherman Hospital. He was born November 10, 1920 in Edgerton, WI and was the son of Otto and Esther Sommerfeldt. He had been a resident of South Elgin since 1952. He had been in the metal finishing business for many years and then was employed by Hoffer Plastics before retiring. He was a veteran, having served in the Army for four years during World War II. Member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Elgin and VFW Post 1307 of Elgin.
Surviving are his wife, Merle, three daughters, Bernice Murphy of Glenwood, IL, Sally (Richard) Kastl of Endicott, NY and Marcia (Dan) Hoke of Stoughton, WI, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister, June Witt of Edgerton, WI and one brother, William (Ludy) Harvey of Wausau, WI.
Preceded by his parents, one sister and one niece.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Rev. Roger Pollock will officiate.

Jacqueline Barracks
Jacqueline Barracks, 47, of Chicago, died Sunday, June 10, 2001 in Chicago.
She was born Aug. 7, 1953 in Kingston, Jamacia, the daughter of Charles E. and Sylvia Duff-Porter.
Survivors include two daughters,Natalie Barracks and Tiffany Barracks-Spates; a son, Ricardo Barracks; three sisters; and two brother.
Memorial Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, June 16 in Spates Temple COGIC, 301 DuPage St., Elgin.
There will be no visitation. Gatlings Chapel, Chicago is assisting the family.

Mary Fuller
Mary Fuller, 80, of Elgin passed away Monday, June 11, 2001 in Asta Care Center in Elgin.
She was born July 7, 1920 in Elgin, the daughter of Frank and Clara Ferson Remer.
She loved dancing, fishing and hunting. She served two years in the United States Coast Guard. She worked as a office manager in various large companies in the Chicago area.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister; and a brother.
Private services were held at Stout-Madison Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Asta Care Center, 134 N. McLean Blvd., Elgin.

Walter C. Hickman
Walter C. Hickman, 70, of Naperville, Illinois died after a courageous battle with cancer June 9, 2001 at a Green Bay assisted living facility.
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on September 8, 1930 he is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hickman. Walter was a career Air Force pilot for 20 years and the was employed most recently by the West Chicago Police Department until retirement. He was an avid reader and photographer.
He is survived by: three sons and one daughter-in-law: Brian Hickman and fiancee Sarah Frank of Green Bay; Chris and Angela Hickman of Lake in the Hills, Illinois; David Hickman of Streamwood, Illinois; one grandson: Chase Hickman of Lake in the Hills, Illinois; one sister and brother-in-law: Jacqueline and Ron Burmeister of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one brother and sister-in-law: Richard and Coleen Hickman of Glen Allen, Alaska; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
preceded in death by: parents, nephew, Gary.
Friends may call at Abraham Lincoln National cemetery (Pavilion), 27034 South Diagonal Road. Elwood, Illinois 60421 from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Thursday.
Military gravesite rites 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the cemetery.

Elvira Kelly
Elvira Kelly, 80, of Elgin, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2001 in her home.
She was born April 12, 1921 in Caledonia, Ill., the daughter of Fred and Annabel (Wallace) Smith.
A resident of Elgin, Elvira was the longtime Secretary for the First Presbyterian Church of Elgin prior to her retirement. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Elgin and was active in many church groups.
Survivors include two sons, Charles (Barbara) Kelly of Elgin and James Kelly of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren,Kevin, Patrick, Scott and Allison; a sister, Josephine Homuth of Elgin; and two brothers, Fred Smith of Elgin and Bill Smith of Owenton, Ky.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jared Smith; and two sisters, Margle Welstead and Vashti Yerke.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Burial will be private.
Laird Funeral Home, Elgin is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

Barbara L. Synnott
Barbara L. Synnott, 65, of St. Charles died Sunday, June 10, 2001 in Linton, Ind.
She was born Jan. 23, 1936 in DeKalb, the daughter of Fred and Helen (Mattson) Synnott.
Miss Synnott was a first grade teacher for the Carpentersville School District for over 20 years. She was a member of the Delnor-Community Hospital Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose in St. Charles.
Survivors include a sister, Carol (Wayne) Nelson of Spencer, Ind.; two cousins, Mary Anna (Darwin) Reuter of Fort Collins, Colo. and David Mattson of Rockford, Ill.; two nephews, Mark (Barbara) Reuter of Littleton, Colo. and Steven (Rita) Nelson of Wausaw, Wis.; three nieces, Stephanie Carlson of Cheyenne, Wyo. and Dawn (Chris) Ferguson of London, Ohio and Michelle (Jason) Laseman of Pardeeville, Wis.; five grand-nephews; and three grand-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Saturday at Yurs Funeral Home, St. Charles, the Rev. William Nagy officiating. Burial will be private in River Hills Memorial Park, Batavia.
Visitation will be Saturday from 12 noon until the time of services in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 30 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL. 60602.
