Adelia Tatge
Adelia Tatge, 94, of Minden, Louisiana, formerly of Elgin and Hampshire passed away Friday, August 27, 2004 in Minden, LA. She was born March 15, 1910, the daughter of Charles and Bertha Tatge.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Burlington.
Survivors include one daughter (Phillip) Hodge of Louisiana; a daughter-in-law Lorraine Tatge; grandchildren, Deborah (Al) Heiden, Cinthia (Keith) Marsden, Wendy Crates, David (Donna) Tatge and Cortney Hodge; great-grandchildren, Darci Frazier, Scott Frazier, Jacob Tatge, Jessica Tatge, Andy Heiden, Katie Heiden, Kate Tracy, and Samantha Crates.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elroy in 1985; one brother, Harvey Knake; and a beloved son, Dale Tatge.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 2, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Burlington with Rev. Howard Gleason officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Burlington. Arrangements by Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin.

Kathryn C. Ward
Kathryn C. Ward, 77, of West Chicago, died August 30, at Delnor-Community Hospital, Geneva. Kathryn was born June 22, 1927 in Cando, ND, and has lived in West Chicago since 1957, where she was a homemaker and she had worked part-time at St. Andrews Golf Club in West Chicago, throughout the years.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Arthur; three children, Claudia, Stephen Ward and Karen (Dean) Miller; three great-grandchildren, William (Kimberly) Miller, Kimberly Miller and Laura Serafin-Ward; a great-granddaughter, Haley Miller; a brother, William James Quain; four sisters, Elizabeth Lewis, Ellen Elkins, Eileen Doud and Genevieve Hays.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and Dennis; two brothers, Charles and John; and two sisters, Margaret and Florence.
Memorial visitation Thursday, August 2, 2004 from 4 to 8 PM at Williams-Woodward Funeral Home, Rt 59 & Pine St., West Chicago.
Memorial Mass, Friday, August 3, 2004, 11 AM at Resurrection Church, 30W350 Army Trail Rd., Wayne,IL, 60184. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Resurrection Church appreciated.

David R. Barney
David R. Barney, 49, formerly of Elgin, passed away August 24, 2002 in Florida. He was born to Richard and Jo Anne Barney on April 22, 1953.
David graduated from St. Charles High School in 1972, then joined the Army. After 3 years of duty, he settled in Elgin where he lived and worked until May 2002. He was an avid fisherman and loved being near the peaceful water.
David will be greatly missed by all his family members and many friends whose lives he touched.
David is survived by his parents; two beloved daughters, Tina and Sarah of Elgin; his ex-wife and best friend, Sue (Guntzburger) of Elgin; two brothers, Ted (Pam) of St. Charles, Kent (Lora) of Bartlett; a sister, Nancy (David) Wredling of Memphis, TN; and six nieces and nephews, Patrick, Lora, Adam, Margaret, Shamus and Connor.
A family service was held in Florida at the ocean, per Dave's wishes. Those wishing to send condolences to his parents at: 4605 Blackheath Ct., Viera, FL. 32955. A brief Memorial Service will be held at CIB Park at Grove Ave. and Prairie St. in Elgin, September 7, 2002 at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be directed to a college fund to be set up for his daughters at Bank One, Elgin.

Earl "Dan" D. Chamberlain
Earl "Dan" D. Chamberlain, age 79, life long resident of the Elgin area, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at his home in South Elgin. Born on October 12, 1922 in Elgin, IL to Earl Emon & Bertha (nee Jones) Chamberlain.
He graduated from Elgin High School in 1941 and in 1951, he received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He served with the U.S. Air Force during WWII in the China-Burma-India Theater and received two bronze battle stars. Shakeproof-Illinois Tool Works employed him for over 20 years. He was a State of Illinois licensed Real Estate Broker and Appraiser, retiring after 30 years of self-employment from Chamberlain Appraisals where he made appraisals for the VA and Fannie Mae. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Elgin, Elgin's Golden K Kiwanis Club, The Modern Woodmen of America, and a Life Member of the Elgin Veterans of Foreign Wars Watch City Post #1307.
He is survived by: his fiancee, Doris Weber and her family. His Daughter, B. J. Lagerstrom, three Grandchildren, Danielle Lynn Lagerstrom, Beth (Mike) Shelby, and James David (Tracey) Harlan. Three Great-grandchildren, Kirsten Marie and Michael Shelby and James Cameron Harlan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty Lou Hankinson April 3, 1997; his son, Danny Lee in 1970, two brothers, Gordon D. and William "Buck" M.; two Sisters, Doris D. Bickler and Hazel.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2002 at 11 AM at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ, corner of Center St. & Division St. in Elgin, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Kasper, officiating.
Visitation will be at the church. He will lie in state from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
Burial will be at River Valley Memorial Gardens cemetery, Dundee, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Tributes in Dan's name may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ or to the Easter Seals Jayne Shover Center.

Ruth S. Hennig
Ruth S. Hennig, 83, of Elgin, formerly Hampshire, passed away Friday, August 30, 2002 in her home.
She was born March 10, 1919 in Savanna, IL, the daughter of Willis and Nina (Williams) McConney.
Mrs. Hennig had worked as a policewoman in Shellsburg, WI and for a short time in Elgin in the 1940's. She was a resident of Elgin for 45 years before moving to Hampshire in 1971. She had also worked as a nurse both in private duty and at St. Joseph Hospital. Ruth moved back to Elgin nearly 12 years ago and worked at the Senior Citizen Thrift Shop in Carpentersville for more than ten years. Mrs. Hennig was a former member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church of Hampshire and previously St. Mary's Catholic Church in Elgin.
Surviving are her daughters, Vicki Katz of Elgin and Ruth Hoefer of Missouri; son, Robert Jackson of Florida; 18 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and a sister, Minnie Jackson of Rockford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas H. Hennig on March 12, 1980 and to whom she married September 28, 1957 in Elgin; two sons, Wilbur and Hans. Two grandchildren; three brothers; and a sister also preceded her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Tuesday at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 297 E. Jefferson St., Hampshire with the Rev. Joseph Nicolosi officiating. Burial will be in the St. Charles Borromeo cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM Monday at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire.
Memorial Contributions in her name may be directed to the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church or to the Hampshire ambulance Service.

Otto M. Melahn
Otto M. Melahn, 77, of Elgin, went to his Lord Friday, August 30, 2002 in Sherman Hospital with his family by his side. He was born December 13, 1924 in Dundee, IL and was the son of Louis and Anna Melahn.
He worked for many years for C.E. Jakes Decorating Co. before starting his own business of Melahn Decorating which he owned for over twenty five years. He was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the Army. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elgin.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth, to whom he had been married to for 55 years; two daughters, Deborah (Joe) Sula of Rockford, IL and Barbara (Mike) Weiss of Savannah, Georgia; five grandchildren, Jeff (Toni) Sula of Rockford, Jennifer Sula (fiance' Matt Lawrence) of Fox Lake, Christopher (Holly) Weiss of Savannah, Georgia, Amanda (Billy) Cook of Oak Grove, Kentucky and Tim Sula (special friend, Cheryl Johns) of West Dundee; seven great-grandchildren, Matthew, Rebecca and Madeline Weiss, Brittany, Andrew and Megan Sula and Zachary Cook.
preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00AM in the Laird Funeral Home in Elgin with Dr. Larry Pickens officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery, Barrington, IL. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association.

Beulah S. Foss
Beulah S. Foss, 101, of Des Plaines, formerly of the Elk Grove Village and Bensenville area, passed away Saturday night, August 30, 2003 in her home.
She was born November 3, 1901 in Wautoma, WI, the daughter of Ernest and Edith (Buschke) Parker. She was raised on the family farm in Wautoma and married Noel Foss on July 2, 1932 in Evanston. They resided in the Elk Grove Village and Bensenville area most of their married life. Mrs. Foss has been a resident of Des Plaines for the past 30 years.
She had been a former 4-H leader and a former member of the Ladies Home Extension both in Elk Grove Village.
Surviving are three sons: Clark (Eileen) Foss, Ethan (Karen) Foss and Howard (Joyce) Foss all of Hampshire, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Noel on October 12, 1974, and two brothers Jay in childhood and Earl Parker.
The Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
Memorials may be made in her name to the charity of your choice.

Shirley Graf
Shirley Graf, 75, of Elgin passed away Saturday in her home. She was born May 11, 1928 in Elgin and was the daughter of Lydia (Flentge) and Reinhart Thies. She had been a resident of Elgin all her life.
Survivors include her husband, John Graf Sr. to whom she was married for 56 years, nine children, John (Bonnie) Graf Jr. of Carpentersville, Judy Boyd of Woodstock, Susan (Kenneth) Kuecker of Elgin, William (Carena) Graf of Freeport, IL, Mary (Steven) Walsberg of Elgin, Thomas (Brenda) Graf of Elgin, David Graf of Elgin, Michael (Cindy) Graf of Florida and James Graf of Elgin, 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, one son, Donald in 1981 and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin with Rev. Thomas O'Connor officiating. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois.

Heide H. Wilson
Heide H. Wilson, 60 of East Dundee died Thursday at her home. She was born in Flammersfeld, Germany on September 26, 1942.
Heide was raised in Duesseldorf, Germany and completed her business training with Mannesman. She studied English in London, England. She had a very full and successful professional career which included being an Auslandskorres-pondentin with General Steamship and Navigation in Duesseldorf and later as an Executive Assistant with Volkswagen, USA. Heide immigrated to the United States in 1965. Over the years, Heide has traveled extensively and has lived in England, Martinique in the French West Indies, New York, and New Jersey. She has been a resident of East Dundee since 1981. She was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Dundee. Heide volunteered her time at the various schools which her children attended and for local community organizations.
She is survived by her husband, Robert B. Wilson, whom she married in Duesseldorf, Germany while he was the civilian liaison officer to the intelligence and security agencies of the North Rhein-Westphalia and other allied governments; her children, Martina (Matt) Scanlan of Moraga, CA and the twins, Michael wilson of San Francisco, CA and Natalie Wilson of Chicago; two grandchildren, Kellen and Emma Scanlan of Moraga, CA; manny good and close friends in all the communities where she lived.
Family and friends will meet for funeral services on Tuesdday at 11:00 a.m. in the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 310 E. Main Street in East Dundee. The Rev. William P. Yonker, Senior Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bluff City cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Heide's memory to the American Cancer Society, 143 First St., Batavia, IL 60510.

Bryan Michael Bell
Bryan Michael Bell, age 19, of Lincoln, NE, formerly of Elgin, IL, died Friday, August 27, 2004. Born in Lincoln, NE on March 23, 1985 to Michael G. and Robin L. (Williams) Bell.
A 2002 graduate of Wheaton Warrenville South High School. Attending Southeast Community College, Lincoln, NE. Employed at Molex, Inc., Lincoln, NE. Formerly employed by Chicago Golf Club as a caddy in Wheaton, IL. Attended Lincoln Berean Church. Member of Midwest Trials Association.
Surviors include his parents, Michael and Robin; brothers, Jeff and Luke, at home; grandparents, Curtis and Marilyn Bell of Blue Eye, MO, and Blanche Williams, Lincoln, NE; Aunts and Uncles, Gary and Lori Bell, Lincoln, NE, Deborah and Doug Boumann, Portland, OR, Charles Williams, Robert Williams, Jr., Michael Williams, Lori and Paul Carlson, and Scott Williams, all of Lincoln, NE; cousin and Trials companion, Jesse Wellenstein, Elgin, IL; and Bryan's dog, Shelby.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert E. Williams, Sr.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday at Lincoln Berean Church, 6400 S. 70th Street, Lincoln. Pastors Bryan Clark and Paul Lucks, officiating.
Private family graveside services, Lincoln Memorial Park cemetery.
Visitation Pending.
