Mary Elizabeth Britton Farroh
Mary Elizabeth Britton Farroh, 89, of Elgin passed away Thursday, October 24, 2002, at Sherman West Court, Elgin. She was born April 27, 1913 in Elgin, the daughter of Claude LeRoy and Esther Emeline Bishop Britton. She was a graduate of Elgin High School in 1931 and has been a resident of Elgin all of her life. She attended MacMurry College and then transferred to Northwestern University, graduating in 1937. She also graduated from Evanston Hospital School of Nursing the same year. She was employed as the school nurse at Lincoln and Garfield Schools and Elgin High School from 1937 to 1939. While at Elgin High School she met Mike Farroh, a teacher and coach of the football, basketball and track teams. They married on June 12, 1939 in the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Elgin. She was employed as a pediatric nurse at Sherman Hospital from 1951 to 1969. She was an active member of First Congregational Church of Elgin.
Surviving are: her husband, Mike Farroh; a daughter, Linda (Dennis) Eder of Elgin; a son, Britton (Barbara) Farroh of Elk Grove Village; five grandchildren: Sylvia Kurtz, David (Amy) Eder, Allison (Steve) Schultz, Courtney and Linsey Farroh; three great-grandchildren: Michael Kurtz, Brandon and Blade Eder; a sister, Claudia (Hall) Layman of Hinsdale.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 28, 2002 at 11 a.m. at First Congregational Church, 256 E. Chicago St., Elgin, with Rev. Paris Donehoo officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3-8 p.m. at the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, and Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Pediatric Department at Sherman Hospital, Elgin.

Catherine S. "Cathy" Freeman
Catherine S. "Cathy" Freeman, 49 of South Elgin died Wednesday October 23, 2002 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin after a many year courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Elgin on December 8, 1952 the daughter of Glen W. & Carol J. (nee Schumacher) Freeman. She was a life long resident of the area. Member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Elgin. Cathy was a 30 year employee of The Little Angels Nursing Center in Elgin where she worked as director of the DT Center.
She is survived by her daughter: Natalie Bell of South Elgin, a niece Allyse Freeman of West Dundee. Cathy is also survived by many cousins especially Janice Rudsinski Haeflinger of Rockford and many many good and faithful friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Paul W. Freeman.
Funeral Services will be on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Elgin. The Rev. Roger Pollack will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dundee Township East cemetery, East Dundee. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee and on Monday in the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of services. Clara Pauline Grap
Clara Pauline Grap, age 87, of Elgin, IL died Monday, October 21 at Heritage Manor Elgin, IL. Born June 12, 1915 in Hampton, Iowa to Calvin and Martha (Burns) Bird Sr.
She had been employed as a machine operator with Illinois Tool Works retiring in 1978.
Survivors: Grandchildren, Sherry Johnson, Shawn Grap, Heidi (Dan) Smith and Jason (Brandy) Grap; Nieces, Barbara Fredrickson, Nancy Grap, Doris Chriest and Nephew, Ray Grap; many more nieces and nephews throughout the United States.
preceded in death by: her parents, her husband Edward H. Grap, who she married on April 26, 1941 and who preceded her on Feb. 11, 1978, a son Dennis Grap on April 8, 1988 daughter-in-law, Brenda Grap on May 29, 1986, Brothers, Barton, Lance, Stanley, Russell and Calvin Bird, Jr. sisters, Gladys Teter, Bernice Grap and Evelyn Roepke.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 25 at 11 AM at Lakewood Memorial Park Elgin with Rev. Thomas O'Connor of St. Paul's United Church of Christ officiating. No visitation. Arrangements made by Wait Ross Allanson, Elgin Chapel. 847-742-2100.

Beulah E. Lindquist
Beulah E. Lindquist, 93 of Elgin, formerly of Carpentersville died Tuesday October 22, 2002 at the Sherman Westcourt in Elgin. She was born in Harmony, Illinois on February 3, 1909, the daughter of August & Carrie (nee Theis) Gurke.
She was a resident of the Dundee-Elgin areas for 70 years. She was a memeber of the St.James Episcopal Church, West Dundee. She is survived by a daughter: Carol (Robert) Taylor of Peachtree City, Georgia. Sons: Bruce (Kay) of Cary, North Carolina, Richard (Margie) of West Dundee, Kenneth (Phyllis) of Hampshire, Keith (Donna) of Hampshire, a daughter-in-law: Phyllis Lindquist of Antioch, (17) Grandchildren, (25) Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glenn Lindquist, (1) Son: Robert Lindquist, (4) Grandchildren, (2) Brothers and (3) Sisters.
Funeral Services will be on Saturday at 10:30 A.M. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. The Reverend Raymond E. Britt, Jr. will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dundee Township East cemetery, East Dundee. Visitation will be on Friday form 4 to 8 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee.

John Allen McBride
John Allen McBride, 45, of Virginia Beach passed away October 23, 2002 in his residence.
John was born in Elgin, Illinois. He was co-owner/pilot of International Jet Charter.
His mother, Shirley Holtz McBride and a nephew, Robert Benjamin Warfel preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Caryl P. McBride; two sons, Eric and Brian McBride all of Virginia beach; his father, Clifford McBride of Elgin, Illinois; his sister, Jean Warfel and her husband, Robert Warfel; and two nieces, Lisa Warfel and Rebecca Warfel all of Hampshire, Illinois.
A church service will be conducted 2:30 p.m., Monday, at Courthouse Community United Methodist Church by Reverend Frances Cooper. Burial will follow at Charity United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Laskin Road Chapel, Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation for the exemplary service and kindness provided by Dr. Thomas Alberico and his staff. Anthony "Tony" Raucci
Anthony "Tony" Raucci, a resident of Bartlett for 32 years, was born on March 1, 1911 in Chicago and passed away October 24, 2002. He loved spending time with his beloved wife of 69 years, Lida, and enjoyed steam locomotives.
He is survived by his wife, Lida (nee Banducci), his sons: Robert (Beverly) Raucci of St. Charles, Ronald (Catherine) Raucci of Algonquin and Richard (Janet) Raucci of Algonquin, 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Charles Raucci of St. Charles and Robert Raucci of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph and sisters Louise and Theresa.
Visitation is Friday, October 25, 2002 from 3PM to 8PM at Countryside Funeral Home, 950 S. Bartlett Rd (at Stearns Rd), Bartlett. Prayers 9:45 AM to St. Peter Damian Church for a 10:30 AM Mass on Saturday, October 26, with burial at All Saints.

Eleanor H. Seyller
Eleanor H. Seyller, 83, of Elgin passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2002, in the Asta Care Center, Elgin. She was born February 27, 1919 in Elgin, and was the daughter of Albert and Lydia (Lemke) Ladwig. Eleanor had worked at Seyller's Dairy Prince in South Elgin from 1970-1990, prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Elgin.
Survivors include: two children: Ray Seyller and Nancy (Marvin) Ferguson, both of Elgin; three grandchildren: Marvin (Lydia), Matthew, and Larry Ferguson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Seyller, in 1971, and her son, Francis "Butch" Seyller, in 1968.
Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2002, at 9:30 a.m. in the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Elgin, with Rev. Edward Siesser officiating. Burial will be in St. Charles Borromeo Church cemetery, Hampshire, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, from 4-9 p.m. and on Saturday in the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Shelda "Rae" Anderson
Shelda "Rae" Anderson, 58, of Elgin, passed away Wednesday in her home. She was born January 21, 1944 in Elgin, and was the daughter of Gordon and Corrinne (Colborn) Anderson. Rae was an avid gardener, and animal lover.
Survivors include two children, Dana (Joseph) Connell of Oak Park, IL, Richard (Toni) Mustard of Richardson, TX; six grandchildren, Brooke, Tori, Hannah, Emma, Elsie, and Rick III; her mother of Elgin; her sister, Andrea (Ed) Christ of Denver, CO.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 28, 2002 at 1:30 P.M. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, with Rev. Joel D. Kline officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 Noon until the time of services in the funeral home. June Hansen
June Hansen, 78, of Elgin, passed away Thursday October 24, 2002 in Sherman West Court. She was born May 11, 1924 in Elgin, the daughter of Ole and Hazel (Stone) Hansen. She had been a resident of Elgin all her life and had been employed by the Elgin National Watch Company and Illinois State Employment Services for many years before retiring.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two nieces, Linda Stettner Fehrman and Donna (Craig) Young; one nephew, David (Kathy) Stettner; six great-nieces and nephews; six great-great-nieces and nephews; one brother-in-law, Donald Stettner; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Nan Jean Stettner; and one brother, Karl Bruce Hansen.
Private Services were held in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin. Burial was private. No visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church or to the charity of your choice.

Pauline A. Jackson
Pauline A. Jackson, age 75, of Carpentersville died October 24, 2002.
She is survived by one son, Greg (Maria); three daughters, Dinah (Ronald) Binder, Becky (Dante) Jacobson, Shiela (Doug) Rainey; grandmother of eight; great-grandmother of two; one brother, Guy (Clara) Wilson; sisters Mary Anderson, Neda (Bruce) Whitley, Leda (Kelly) Kronemeyer, Pam (Dick) Lose, Carol (Ray) Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harry.
Services Monday 10:30 a.m. at Community Funeral Home located on Rt. 25, between Rts. 72 and 68, East Dundee, (847)426-3474. Burial Dundee East cemetery. Visitation Sunday 5 to 9 p.m.

Howard L. Barth
Howard L. Barth, 88 of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away October 21, 2002. He was born April 18, 1914 in Hesper, Iowa, and moved to Florida in June 2002 from East Dundee, Illinois. Mr. Barth retired as superintendent for the East Dundee Streets, Sewer and Water departments. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in West Dundee, IL.
Howard is survived by two sons, Gerald Barth of South Elgin, IL and Roland Barth of Port Charlotte, Florida.
Memorial services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 10:30 AM November 1, 2002.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Main Street, West Dundee, IL 60118.

June Volk
June Volk, 88, of Elgin passed away Friday at Sherman West Court, Elgin.
She was born June 15, 1914 in Chicago, the daughter of Ernest and Erna Wallace Volk.
She was active in Charitable organizations all her life. While living in Hampshire, she was made an honorary Alma Mater of Hampshire High School. She was active in the Elgin Women's Club. She was a member of the Elgin American Legion Women's Auxiliary and donated much of her time to the Elgin Senior Center. She had been employed by the Woodruff and Edwards Foundry and later an an Executive Secretary at Elgin Sweeper.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, October 29, 2002 at 10 AM in the Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be held Monday from 6 to 9 PM at Madison Funeral Home, Elgin.

Mark Joseph Mason
Mark Joseph Mason, age 45, of St. Charles died suddenly on Thursday, October 24, 2002 at his home. He was born July 19, 1957 in Altoona, Pennsylvania to James Edward and Margaret Josephine (Mackey) Mason.
He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where he was a communion server and usher. For the past nine years, he was employed by Amy Plumbing, Heating and Cooling in Elgin. He was previously employed by Vertical Drop Ski and Patio in St. Charles and the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. Mark's enjoyment were snow skiing, gardening, music, the ocean and most of all, his girls.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia; his two daughters, Amanda, six, and Alexandra, 3; his parents, James and Margaret of Palm Coast, Florida; his three brothers, James of North Aurora, Michael (Winnie) of Stafford of Chantilly, Virginia and Steven of Las Vegas, Nevada; a sister, Sandi (James) Shelton of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; his mother-in-law, Suzanne Byrum of St. Charles; his father-in-law, Robert E. (Marjean) Byrum of Atkins, Arkansas; his two brothers-in-law, Jeffrey (Linda) of DeKalb, Illinois and Michael of St. Charles; his nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Phillip, Rochelle, Nicole and Jessica and several aunts, uncles and cousins and several very special friends that he was very close to.
Funeral service will be held 11:00AM, Tuesday, October 29, 2002 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1145 North 5th Avenue, St. Charles. Rev. Rod Broker officiating. Burial will be in North cemetery, St. Charles. Visitation will be Monday from 3-8:00PM at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street (corner of Rte. 64 and 25), St. Charles.
In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated and may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church for an educational fund being set up in his memory for his daughters at PO Box 3850, St. Charles, Illinois 60174.
