S. Kay Butts
S. Kay Butts, 62, of DeKalb, IL, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2002 at Rockford Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 7, 1940 in Jefferson County, Missouri, the daughter of Loren and Mary Helen (Rich) Mullins. She married C. Gerald Butts at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Virgil, IL on July 25, 1959.
Kay was a homemaker and formerly employed at Wurlitzer Piano Company in DeKalb. She loved her pug dogs Clementine, Annbelle, and Abigail.
She is survived by her children, Thomas (Kara) Butts of Elburn, IL, Jill (Matt) Helser of DeKalb, and Heather Butts of DeKalb; four grandchildren, Morgan, Chloe, Emily, and Noah; one brother, Gerry (Barb) Mullins of Lawrenceville, GA; two aunts, Louise Rich and Phyllis Mullins; one uncle, Howard (Martha) Mullins; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, C. Gerald Butts; one daughter, Amber Joan in infancy; and her parents.
A Family Graveside Service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. at the South Burlington cemetery with the Rev. Robert L. Vaughn of the Earlville United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 7, 2002 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb.
A memorial is being established for S. Kay Butts in care of the Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, Illinois 60115. For further information please call (815) 756-1022.

Raymond J. Final
Raymond J. Final, age 63, of Lake in the Hills and formerly of Streamwood, IL. passed away Saturday November 2, 2002. He was born on June 8, 1939, the son of Martin and Lillian Final.
He was employed by Qualex in Elgin, IL. as a photofinisher.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann; one son, Ray Scott (Debra) of Lake in the Hills; one daughter, Donna May (Bill) of Woodstock; three grandchildren, Daniel Final, Kaitlynne and Briana Edwards; and two sisters, Judith (Thomas) McConnell of Roan Mountain, Texas and Joan Final of Round Lake Beach.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Lillian Final; his parents, Martin and Lillian Final; and one brother, Michael Final.
Visitation will be on Wednesday November 6, 2002 from 2:00-9:00 PM at the Willow Funeral Home, 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., Algonquin, IL.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, where he will lie in state from 9:00-10:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Church in Algonquin, until the time of Mass at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow at Memory Gardens cemetery in Arlington Heights, IL.
Arrangements were handled by the Willow Funeral Home, (847)458-1700.

Florence E. Kleinschmidt
Florence E. Kleinschmidt, 93, of Ellison Bay, WI, formerly of East Dundee, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2002. She was born December 15, 1908 in Carpentersville, IL to George and Mertie Lax.
She is survived by a son, Richard (Lorna) Lax of Panama City, FL, a daughter Judy (Cedric) Nelson of Ellison Bay, WI, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a sister, Adeline Schufer of Aurora, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alvin in 1991, her brothers, Samuel, Noble, Donald; and sisters, Jennie Zwiefel, Anna Deuchler, and Mary Jones.
Services will be held on November 6th at Casperson Funeral Home in Sister Bay, WI. Burial will be at Ellison Bay cemetery.

Marie L. Siegfort
Marie L. Siegfort, 59 of Crystal Lake, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2002 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. She was born October 26, 1943 in Elgin the daughter of Albert and Louise (Ward) Tolley.
She was a member of Twin Oaks Baptist Church, Sleepy Hollow, IL.
She is survived by a son, Walter Petersen, Jr. of Crystal Lake, IL; a daughter, Susan Petersen of Crystal Lake, IL; four grandchildren; and a sister, Marilyn Ballard of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arthur Siegfort in 1999, and a sister Margie Tolley.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2002 at 7:30 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, with the Rev. Roy Hazelrig officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 PM until the time of services. Information: 847-741-8800

Carmen RA "Ruthie" Grebenick
Carmen RA "Ruthie" Grebenick, 54, of Carpentersville, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2004 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born on November 25, 1949 in St. Louis, MO and was the daughter of Daisy Mae Grahm and Elvis Brinkley. She was employed at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, IL for 25 years.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Grebenick of Hazel Crest, IL; two daughters, Emma A. Grebenick and Sandra (Carlos) Valles, both of Carpentersville, IL; two granddaughters, Noelle Christina and Breanna Angelica Valles; one sister, Jewel of Florida; two brothers, Buddy and Martin Sims; Her mother-in-law, Betty Grebenick of Carpentersville, IL; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, her mother and step-mother; her daughter, Carmen D. Grebenick on March 12, 2004; two sons in infancy; and one sister and her father-in-law.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM in the Laird Funeral Home, 120 S. Third St., West Dundee, 60118, (847) 836-8770, (Corner of Third St. and Oregon), with Pastor Bob Huerta, officiating. Burial will be in Dundee Township East cemetery, East Dundee. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-9 PM in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

William Stanley Ozga
William Stanley Ozga, 88, of Bardstown, KY, formerly of Elgin, Carpentersville and East Dundee, died Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Center in Bardstown, KY. He was born in Chicago on January 21, 1916. He was the son of Stanley and Lillian (nee Szuderski) Ozga.
He was a former area resident for 46 years. He retired after 27 years of employment with Sigmode/ITW Steel Manufacturing. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and an avid Square Dancer. He was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Elgin, St. Catherine of Siena Church West Dundee and St. Monica Church of Carpentersville.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Sr. Rosemary Kirsten, OP of St. Catharine, KY, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Therese Helen Ozga on November 19, 1999. They married on January 17, 1948; his daughter, Rosemarie Ozga Valentine in 1988; his sister, Helen Bortko; and his brothers, Ted, Henry and Walter.
Family and friends will meet for a funeral Mass on Saturday at 10:30 AM in the St. Mary Catholic Church of Elgin. Burial will follow in the Dundee Township East cemetery, East Dundee. Visitation will be on Saturday in the church from 9:30 AM until time of Mass. Please omit flowers, masses would be appreciated or memorials may be made to the Dominican Sisters of Kentucky. The Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee is in charge of arrangements.

Gordon B. Honert
Gordon B. Honert, 71, of Maple Glen, PA, formerly of Elgin, IL passed away Monday, November 1, 2004, at Abington Memorial Hospital.
Gordon is survived by his wife Eileen; children Melissa and Eric; grandchildren Jennifer, Ryan and Candace; one sister, Marcia (Ron) Lamz of Elgin; nephew Douglas and niece Deborah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ruby Honert.
Gordon was a veteran of the Korean War who received the Purple Heart while serving in the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Electronic Engineering and later attended the University of Pennsylvania. Gordon then worked for Philco Ford for 25 years. Later, Gordon was Vice-President of the PSEA from the mid 1980's to the early 1990's. Gordon was active in a variety of community organizations including the Boy Scouts of America and the Freemasons Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania. Gordon was also a volunteer EMT for the Lackawaxen Township Ambulance Corps. Gordon was active in his church serving as an Elder and a Deacon in the First Presbyterian Church of Ambler.

Chris H. Watermann
Chris H. Watermann, 79, of Plato Center passed away Friday, November 5, 2004 at the DuPage Convalescent Center, Wheaton. He was born May 13, 1925 in Plato Center, the son of Henry and Letitia Marshall Watermann. He had been a resident of Plato Center all of his life and was a graduate of Plato Center High School. He was a dairy farmer all of his life in Plato Center. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Elgin and a member of the Kane County Farm Bureau.
Surviving are his wife, Arlene Zimmick Watermann, whom he married on October 22, 1950 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Elgin; two children, Kenneth Watermann of Plato Center and Linda Schramm (Kenneth Sucharski) of Maple Park; a grandson, Scott H. Watermann of Burlington; a brother, Marvin (Betty) Watermann of Carpentersville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Walter and Alfred Watermann; and a sister, Esther Engel Stading.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at 10 AM at the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Thomas Niermann and Rev. Herman Christiansen officiating. Burial will be in Plato Center cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 to 9 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church.

Michael D. Arnold
Michael D. Arnold, 57, of Elgin, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2004 at Rush-Presbyterian St. Lukes Medical Center, Chicago. He was born September 20, 1947 in Elgin the son of Kenneth and Laura Turk Arnold.
He had been a resident of Elgin and Geneva, all of his life. He was a graduate of Geneva High School and attended Waubonsee College and Northern Illinois University. He was employed by Tucker-Rocky Distributing. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Alice Dailler Arnold, whom he married on December 6, 1980; two children, Sara Arnold of Chicago, Jason Arnold; of Elgin; one brother, Scott Arnold of Geneva; two sisters, Marvelene Palm of Tucson, AZ, and Pat (Matt) Leonard of St. Charles; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private services were held at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice Partners, 4415 W. Harrison St., Suite 403, Hillside, IL 60162.

Richard Bonitzer
Richard Bonitzer, age 59, of Sleepy Hollow, IL passed away Thursday, November 4, 2004, in the Asta Care Center, Elgin, IL. He was born September 22, 1946, in Merdian, CT and was the son of Albert and Sara Bonitzer.
Richard was a proud Vietnam Veteran and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a lifetime member of the West Dundee VFW Post #2298. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of East Dundee. He was the owner of the Town Square Hair Stylist in Schaumburg, IL since 1969, and the owner of Shenanigans in West Dundee since the '70's.
Survivors include three children: Rick, Sophia and Brian Bonitzer; one grandchild, Anthony; one sister, Diane Bonitzer; two brothers, Albert and Chuck Bonitzer and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sara Jane and Albert Bonitzer Sr.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2004, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, 120 S. Third St., West Dundee, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Edmund Theodore Garfield
Edmund Theodore Garfield, 66, a nine year resident of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Elgin, IL, died Sunday, November 7, 2004 at his home. He was born August 24, 1938 in Illinois and was the owner of Automotive Industries Shop.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Mary Garfield; three sons, Vincent Clay, Irvin Philip and Russell Todd Garfield; a daughter, Dawn Lynn Dumelle; and two grandchildren.
Visitation and funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, cards may be sent to Irv's Auto Body, 39 Industrial Dr., Unit 2, Gilberts, IL, 60136, 847-426-6844.

Charles J. Scott
Charles J. Scott, 68, of Elgin passed away Sunday, November 7, 2004 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. He was born on November 3, 1936 in Tamms, IL and was the son of Arthur and Lounettie Scott. Scotty had worked at the Elgin Mental Health Center, Ackemann's Department Store and Provena St. Joseph Hospital for many years prior to his retirement. He was an avid Sportsman, he enjoyed playing golf, baseball and softball, Scotty will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, whom he married on April 22, 1961; a daughter, Deborah (Phil) Danner of Elgin; and two grandchildren, Tori and Logan Danner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his step father, Harry "Fuzz" Reed.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 10 AM in the St. Laurence Catholic Church, Elgin with Rev. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and on Thursday in the church from 9:30 AM until the time of services.
Omission of flowers is requested with memorials made to the Provena St. Joseph Hospital Cancer Care Center.

Agnes M. Toth
Agnes M. Toth, 83 of Elgin passed away Monday, November 8, 2004 at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born May 8, 1921 in Defiance, OH.
Surviving are two children, Terry (Marsha) Toth of Grayslake and Vicki Kirkland of Elgin; four grandchildren, Natalie and Peter Toth of Grayslake, Joel Gordon Kirkland of Washington, D.C., and Brooke Anne Kirkland of Buffalo, NY.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emory Toth; a sister, Margaret Coffman; and three brothers, Raymond, Howard and Charles Mack.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12:00 Noon at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be in McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10:30 AM, until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Lung Association.

Christine H. Vogel
Christine H. Vogel, 91, of Gilberts, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2004 in the Apostolic Christian Resthaven. She was born on January 29, 1913 in Yugoslavia and was the daughter of John and Antonia Knaus.
Christine grew up in Traunik, MI and came to Elgin to attend St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in 1933. After graduation, she had worked in the Elgin Clinic for several years prior to becoming a homemaker.
Member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gilberts, IL. Member of the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Mary's. Member of the St. Joseph Nurse's Alumni.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph, whom she married on April 19, 1941; two children, Joseph (Shari) Vogel of Princeton, IL and Mary Jo (David) Kaufman of Bloomington, IL; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Brent, and Susan Vogel, Kristie (Robert) Wolfe and Lori (Greg) Hartz; four great-grandchildren, Christina, Justin, Joseph, and Aubreanna; four sisters, Mary Lustick, Olga Koehler, Helen Lack and Amy Spencer; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Christine, in infancy; two brothers, Ludwig and John Knaus; three sisters, Antonia Lustick, Angela Mason and Frances, in infancy.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM in the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, West Dundee. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM, until the time of services. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gilberts or the Apostolic Christian Resthaven. Laird Funeral Homes of West Dundee and Elgin are in charge of arrangements.
