Frank B. Kennedy Jr., age 88, passed away January 2, 2004 in Chandler, AZ. Formerly of Elgin.
Retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company.
Survivors are 2 daughters, Sally and Joan; 2 grandchildren, Andrea and Mike.

Paul C. Mockler
Paul C. Mockler, 84, of Sleepy Hollow passed away Saturday at Provena St. Joseph Hospital. He was born on March 19, 1919 in Blackberry Township. He is the son of Carl and Lucy (Walker) Mockler.
He has been a resident of the Elgin and Dundee area. He graduated from Dundee High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps on January 9, 1942 and served as a crew chief on a B-29 with the 73rd Bomb Wing, serving on Saipan Island. He was also a high altitude instructor and was the 73rd boxing champion in the light heavyweight division. He was honorably discharged in October of 1945.
Paul owned and operated Mockler Ins. Agency in Elgin for many years, receiving his C.L.U. designation from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He earned a certificate from the Life Underwriter Training Council and the National Association of Life Underwriters from DePaul University and North Western Illinois University. He was a member and past president of Elgin Life Underwriters and Independent Insurance Agents and served as Regional Vice President.
Paul was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Elgin, serving on numerous church committees including Boy Scout Troop 100. He was a member and past president of the Elgin Lions Club, receiving a Fellowship from teh Lions of Illinois Foundation for dedication and assistance in helping others for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Elgin Elks Lodge 737 and Masonic Lodge 522 for over fifty years. He was also an active member of the American Legion Post 57 in Elgin, serving on the Honor-Color Guard for many years. Paul enjoyed and was active in many sports, was a nature lover and was lead archer in the Elgin Bowmen and Archery Club.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and was always ready to help others.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ida; his son, Paul J. (Shirley) Mockler of Carpentersville; two daughters, Janine (Richard) Tanner of Sleepy Hollow and Belinda Mockler of Elgin; two grandsons, Michael and Mark Tanner; a very special sister-in-law, Lea Haserman of Phoenix, Arizona; two brothers-in-law, George Ehorn of Elgin and Italo Bove of Lisle, IL; many nieces and nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many special friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Dorothy, Lucille, Alice, and Loretta; a half-brother, Raymond, who died in childhood; and a daughter, Deborah, who died in infancy.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Elgin. Burial will be at Bluff City cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 until 8 at Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lions of Illinois Foundation, or the American Parkinson Disease Association Midwest Chapter.

Anne L. See
Anne L. See, 83, formerly of Burlington, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2004 at Rosewood Care Center in Elgin.
She was born June 7, 1920 in Wunstoff, Germany, the daughter of Emil and Louise (Kammeyer) Meldau. Mrs. See came to the United States in 1926 with her parents and brothers, settling in Elgin where she attended grade school and high school. Anne married Gerald L. See on November 23, 1938 in Vinton, Iowa and they were former residents of the Burlington area.
Mrs. See was a homemaker and volunteered at the St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin for many years.
Surviving are her sons, Dennis See of Burlington and Donald (Charlotte) See of Belvidere; five grandchildren, Denise (Rick) Funderburg of Hampshire, Beth (Brian) Butts of Burlington, Dave (Candy) See of Hampshire, Margaret Kirby of Kingston, and Michael (Amy) See of Little Rock, Arkansas; nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gerald on July 10, 1976; and brothers Carl and Emil Meldau.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be directed to Oak Crest, 204 S. State St., Elgin, IL 60123, where Anne enjoyed residing for the past two years.

Kenneth J. Sodt
Kenneth J. Sodt, 78, of Elgin, passed away Sunday January 4, 2004, at home. Born August 7, 1925, he was the son of Walter and Elsie (Berndt) Sodt. Ken, a lifelong resident of Elgin, graduated from Elgin High School in 1943. In World War II, he was a Navy medic. He was employed at the Elgin Post office as a letter carrier from 1948 to 1978. After retirement, he worked at the Channing and Taylor YMCA's. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and especially music. He was a member of the original Elgin Choral Union, was active in various church choirs, and as a soloist. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Gilberts, singing in the church choir and the Praise and Worship Group.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lois (Bartels) Sodt; his daughters, Karen (Hugh) Kress of Oak Park, Lynn (John) Hanlon of Hudson, NH, and Laurel (Thomas) Miller of Anacortes, WA; four grandchildren, Seth and Timothy Kress, and Ryan and Katelyn Hanlon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Shirley (Sodt) Hauer.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 9, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Galligan Road, Gilberts with Rev. David Stuckmeyer officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, January 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Laird Funeral Home, 120 S. Third St., West Dundee, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church Building Fund or Provena St. Joseph Hospice Care, 77 N. Airlite St., Elgin.

Anne Cook
Anne Cook, 90, of Elgin passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2004 in Rosewood Care Center in Elgin. She was born September 21, 1914 in Minneapolis, MN and was the daughter of James and Marie Formico. She had been a resident of Elgin for many years and had worked for Joseph Spiess Co. for several years.
She was a member of the First Christian Church and a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are one sister, Mary Jane Jones of Newport, MN; two step daughters, Dolores (Marshall) Schneider of West Dundee and Marjorie (Leroy) Ducommun of Las Cruces, NM; two step grandsons, Jerry Schneider of Mucwaunago, WI and Ronald (Celia) Schneider of Lone Tree, CO; one step granddaughter, Carol Woodbury of Glen Cove, ME.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Cook; two sons, in infancy, James and Timothy from a previous marriage; two brothers, Martin and Vincent Formico.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Christian Church, 1125 Summit St., Elgin with Rev. Titus Solomon officiating. Burial will be private in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be at time of services only.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Christian Church.

Leo Cyril Dolan
Leo Cyril Dolan, 83, of Elgin and formerly of Waukegan, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, in Sherman Hospital's Intensive Care Unit, following a stroke, which occurred in the early morning hours of January 2. He was born in Joliet, April 11, 1921 and married Mary Genevieve (Latz) Dolan on September 14, 1945, before leaving for his European assignment, during World War II, as a member of the U.S. Army. In 1954, the couple moved to Elgin, where he opened Artcraft Printing Company.
Leo is survived by his wife, Mary Genevieve (Latz); his six children, Sharon (William) Coyer, Barbara (Edward Jurczak) Dolan, Mary (Kevin) McCarty, Christopher (Roseann) Dolan, Paul (Lisa) Dolan, and James (Jill) Dolan; grandchildren, Sean Coyer, James (Patty) Coyer, Kelly (Scott) Dolan, Kathy (Joe) Penn, Julia (Shearer) Hadler, Jonathen (Amy) Shearer, Edward (Jill) Jurczak, Michael and Megan McCarty, Zachary and Adia Dolan, Jack and Aidan Dolan and Quinn Dolan; and 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Lou (Raymond) Scott; and two sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Magdalena (Engel) Dolan of North Chicago; five brothers; and a sister.
Leo served as owner and president of Artcraft Printing, and later opened The Printery. He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish and served on its parish council and as a director of the St. Joseph's Parish Credit Union. During his 50-year residency in Elgin, Leo was a member of the American Legion. Loyal Order of Moose, the Lions Club, the Sierra Club and the Knights of Columbus. During his years of marriage to Mary Genevieve, Leo supported the activities of the Elgin League of Women Voters, the Elgin Chapter of the NAACP, and various peace, justice and environmental initiatives.
Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 8, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 272 Division St., Elgin. Burial will be private in Mt Hope Catholic cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00-8:00 PM in the Wait Ross Allanson Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Joseph J. "Joe" Geib
Joseph J. "Joe" Geib, 67, of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Mount Prospect, IL, passed away suddenly at his home on December 30, 2004. He was born on October 14, 1937 in Chicago, IL.
Joe was retired as Vice President of Engineering at Cummins Allison after working there for over 40 years. He served three years in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Geib (Terranella); children, Janet (Daniel) Intravaia, Bill (Annette) Radke, Dianne (Scott) Borg, Rich (Sheryl) Radke; step-children, Tom Terranella, Julie Birkenheier, and Scott Terranella; grandchildren, Danielle Johnson, Kristin Intravaia, Melissa Radke, Jessica Intravaia, and Sarah Radke; step-grandchildren, Matthew Birkenheier and Daniel Birkenheier; and brother, John Geib.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Clara Geib; and brothers and sisters, Ardinia Odocholoski, Clarence Wilhelm, Katherine Geib, Ralph Geib, James Geib, and Donald Geib.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 8:00PM at Friedrichs Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00PM until time of services at FRIEDRICHS Funeral Home, 320 W. Leslie J. Schwemm
Leslie J. Schwemm, age 90, of Crystal Lake, died on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at his home.
He was born on June 20, 1914 in Cary, IL, the son of William and Sophia (nee Demhlow) Schwemm. On May 7, 1949 he married Dorothy Nordmann at St. Joseph Lutheran Church in Elgin, IL.
He had lived and farmed in the Crystal Lake area and had been a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Crystal Lake.
Survivors include his brother, Gordon Schwemm of Elkhorn, WI; two sisters-in-law, Marion Anderson of Ingleside and Viola Schwemm of Crystal Lake; nieces and nephews, Jean Johnson, Warren Schwemm, Marlene Kaliohi, Douglas Schwemm and Kay Hinkelmann.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Schwemm on June 19, 2004; six brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2005 at the Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Pastor Tom Tews will officiate. Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park in Woodstock. Memorial contributions would be appreciated by the family to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 178 McHenry Avenue, Crystal Lake, IL 60014.

Mabel A. Tomczyk (nee Drabik)
Mabel A. Tomczyk (nee Drabik), age 81, of Bartlett, IL passed away Monday, January 3, 2005 in Naperville, IL. She was born December 14, 1923 in Chicago, IL.
Mrs. Tomczyk worked for the Bartlett Post Office.
She is survived by her loving son and daughter, James Tomczyk of Naperville and Pam Bentson of Batavia; cherished grandchildren, Laura (Geoffrey) McManus, David, Sarah, Peter, and Jeff.; one sister, Estelle (Richard) Rudzinski.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence; her parents, Jan and Rose Drabik; one sister, Christine (Joseph) Lasek.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 8, 2005 at St. Peter Damian Church. Following Mass, cremation will be private at the Countryside Crematory. Visitation will be Friday, January 7, 2005 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 950 South Bartlett Road (at Stearns Road), Bartlett, IL 60103. Henry N. Wisz
Henry N. Wisz, 58, of Elgin passe away Monday, January 3, 2005 in Loyola Medical Center. He was born on November 30, 1946 in Chicago, IL and was the son of Frank and Anna Wisz. He was a Veteran and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, on the USS Yorktown Aircraft Carrier.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer of Elgin; his son, Jeffrey Wisz of Sauk Village, IL; three grandchildren; three brothers, Frank (Charity), James, and John (Mary) Wisz; four sisters, Mary (Peter) Petkovic, Kathleen Damato, Susan (Bill) Dinaro, and Jeanette (Chad) Trumbo; numerous nieces and nephews; his mother and father-in-law, Daniel and Karyl Donnelly.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Laurence Catholic Church, Elgin, with Rev. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Burial will follow in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be on Friday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin from 4-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday in the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
