Leslie W. "Les" Gustafson
Leslie W. "Les" Gustafson, 82, of Hampshire, passed away Monday, February 24, 2003 in his home.
He was born January 3, 1921 in Hampshire, the son of Ernest and Wardrita (Doty) Gustafson. Mr. Gustafson was a lifelong resident of Hampshire and a 1939 graduate of Hampshire High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Les married Ethel R. Nickels on December 7, 1946 in Crystal Lake.
Mr. Gustafson was the owner and operator of Gustafson Oils in Hampshire which he took over from his father and operated it until his retirement in December of 1982. Les was a firefighter, joining the Hampshire Volunteer Fire Dep't in 1939 and remaining active until his death. He was a member and supporter of the Northern Illinois Fire Museum and a member of the Hampshire VFW Post #8043 and American Legion Post #680. He was an avid auto racing enthusiast, attending every Indianapolis 500 from 1937 on.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Ethel, daughter Linda Gustafson and son Steven (Linda) Gustafson, two grandchildren, Richard and Lori Gustafson, sister Lenna (Fred) Knaus, all of Hampshire and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Ernadene Tegtman and Virginia Werthwein.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 27 at the Frederick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire with the Rev. Steve Ziegler officiating. Burial will be in the Hampshire Center cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the Les Gustafson Memorial Fund, c/o Frederick Funeral Home, P.O. Box 445, Hampshire, IL 60140. Information call 847-683-2711.

Willard James
Willard James, 36, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2003 at Little Angels in Elgin.
He is survived by his long time family at Little Angels who through their exemplary care provided him a long and happy life.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at O'Connor & Homeier Funeral Home in Elgin. Prayer services will follow at 4 p.m. For information, call 847-741-1400.

Angeline E. Lord (nee Deltour)
Angeline E. Lord (nee Deltour) of Streamwood passed away Saturday, February 22, 2003 at home. She was born September 21, 1911 in Appleton, WI.
Survivors include four children, Carol Stem of Streamwood, William (Margaret) of Manasha, WI, Larry (Lee Ann) of Spring Grove and John (Sharon) of Spring Grove; two siblings, Mildred Killian of Michigan and George (Dee) Deltour of Appleton, WI, 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Henry.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 26 11 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd), Streamwood/Schaumburg. Burial will be at Mt. Hope cemetery in Elgin. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. For information, call 630/847-289-8054.

Marion (nee Klug) Meglin
Marion (nee Klug) Meglin, 90, of Hampshire passed away Sunday, February 23, 2003 in her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on July 31, 1912 in West Chicago, the daughter of William and Emma (Juress) Klug. They farmed for many years in the Elgin area. Marion worked for Simpson Electric for over 20 years.
Survivors include her son, Robert (Cheryl Bye) Meglin; a grandson, Patrick Meglin both of Hampshire; two granddaughters, Laura (Tommy) Stegall of Vancouver, Washington and Mary (Frank) Staples of Hampshire; three great grandsons, Bradley, Aaron and Zachary Stegall; two great granddaughters, Nicole Potter and Gaige Meglin; and two sisters, Emma Olsen of Warrenville and Esther Henke of Woodstock, GA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Frank Meglin; five brothers, Arnold, William, Walter, Alfred and Howard Klug; and three sisters, Dorothy Weber, Flora Hagemann and Mabel Klug.
Funeral Services will be at 10 AM Thursday at Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois.

Rosalinda Soto
Rosalinda Soto, 55, of Elgin, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2003 in her home. She was born in Mexico on March 25, 1947, the daughter of Carmen and Augustina Soto.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at 12:30 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elgin with the Rev. Hector Moreno officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.

Eddie Edward "Ed" Clark
Eddie Edward "Ed" Clark, age 82, of Wonder Lake, died Wednesday, February 16, 2005, at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL.
He was born in Bald Knob, Arkansas, Feb. 18, 1922, the son of Charles Edward and Melvina (Wesley) Clark. He was formerly a resident of Elgin for 18 years and of Lake In The Hills for 40 years.
Ed was an Army veteran of World War II and was a self employed horticulturist. He was married June 26, 1946, to GLoria Schabacker.
Survivors include one son, Edward, of South Bend, IN; two daughters, Hollis (Thomas) Orzech of Wonder Lake, IL, and Dawne Deegan of Indiana; one sister, Venita (John) Bowers of Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Tonya and Jackie Orzech, Justin and Christina Clark, and Tony and Garrett Verba.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents, one son, Scott; a grandson, Nicholas Orzech, and a sister, Hazel Ranisch.
Memorial services and visitation will be held Monday, February 28, 2005, at noon, Wait-Ross-Allanson Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel, 201 S. Main St., Algonquin.
Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.

Frank Rudolph Klee
Frank Rudolph Klee, age 62, of Elgin died Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, Illinois.
He was born February 17, 1943 in the Bronx, New York to Frank and Rose Klee.
He attended Hoffstra University in Westbury-Long Island, New York before enlisting in the United States Army. He served during Vietnam and after that enlisted in the Air Force Reserves. In the Air Force Reserves he was in the Military Intelligence Unit. For over 25 years, he worked as a respiratory therapist at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights and at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. He went on to get his Masters Degree in English Literature at the University of Illinois in Chicago. After he graduated, he became editor for the University of Illinois Weekly Reader and also had published poetry.
He is survived by his wife, Zhongping, 2 daughters, Kristan Klee of Glendale Heights and Frances (Hector) Gomez of Carol Stream, Illinois, a brother, Eugene (Sara) of St. Paul, Minnesota, 4 grandchildren, Myrissa, Austin, Alexis and Rickey and 2 nieces, Monica (Edward) Herdrich of Elgin and Jennifer (Rodney) Lynch of St. Paul, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lydia Beasley.
Funeral mass will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 28 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 408 Cedar Street, St. Charles, Illinois. Burial will be at Abraham Lincoln National cemetery, Elwood, Illinois. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-5:00 P.M. at Yurs Funeral home, 405 East Main Street (corner of Rt. 64 and Rt. 25), St. Charles, Illinois.

Norma Medrano
Norma Medrano, 42, of Las Vegas, NV formerly of Elgin, died February 13, 2005 in Las Vegas, NV. A resident for four years, she was a respiratory therapist.
She was born July 4, 1962 in Santa Anna, CA.
She is survived by three daughters, Olivia Grafer of Las Vegas and twins, Melanie Coquillard and Melissa Coquillard both of Elgin. One son, Michael Medrano; and two sisters, Diane Medrano and Sandra Medrano, all of Las Vegas; and two brothers, Carlos Medrano, Jr., of Las Vegas, NV and Richardo Rodriguez of Aurora, IL.
Services were held in Las Vegas.

Georgeanna (Elkins) Arwood
Georgeanna (Elkins) Arwood, 44, of Ripley, TN. passed away February 17, 2002 in Baptist Memorial Hospital, Memphis, TN.
She was a graduate of Elgin High School Class of 1976 and a member of the Armed Forces. She was the district manager for Ferrell Gas in Covington, TN and a member of the Church of Christ.
She was survived by her husband, Phillip Glen Arwood; two sons, Phillip Jr. and Jonathan, all of Ripley, TN; a daughter, Jennifer Kieth of Atoka, TN; two sisters, Carolyn Richoz of Elgin, IL and Connie Hazlerig of Covington, TN; a brother, Charlie Huffman of Glenwood, WV; two grandchildren, Gabriell Skye and Aidan George, both of Atoka, TN; also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Her family was at her bedside when she passed away.

Louise Knecht
Louise Knecht, 93, of Elgin, formerly of Rockford and Morton Grove, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2002 at the Apostolic Christian Resthaven Nursing Home, Elgin.
She was born July 31, 1908 in Peoria, IL, the daughter of John and Ann Gerber.
Louise was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and will be missed by all. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Hillside.
Surviving are her daughter, Penny (John) France of Caledonia, IL; son, John (Beth) Knecht of Chicago; five grandchildren, Andrew, Sarah and Allison France, John and Heather Knecht; two sisters, Helen Reynolds of Oklahoma City, OK and Leah Freidinger of Watseka, IL; and a brother, Louis (Doris) Gerber of South Bend, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest Knecht in 1974; a son, Ernie Knecht; a sister; and four brothers.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesay at 10 AM at the Apostolic Christian Church, Hillside. Burial will be in Eden cemetery, Schiller Park.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 to 9 PM at the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Apostolic Christian Church, Belvidere, IL or the Apostolic Christian Resthaven Nursing Home, Elgin.

Erna D. Knight
Erna D. Knight, 96, of Elgin. died Sunday, February 24, 2002 at Sherman West Court, Elgin. Born June 29, 1905 in Algonquin to Herman and Mary (Kublank) Dehmlow. She was a graduate of Ellis Business School in Elgin, and was a secretary, retiring after 50 years of service from Hills Nursery of West Dundee. A member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Algonquin, where she had served for some 50 years as a Sunday School teacher; also a member of Elgin American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her sister, Edna Ritt of Elgin; her sister-in-law, Lorene Switzer of Elgin; a niece, Mary Jean (Gerard) Justin of McHenry; nephews, Ronald Ritt of Algonquin and Roger (Louise) Wilbrandt of Virginia.
preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Theodore "Ted" L. Knight, whom she married in 1949 and who preceded her on January 21, 2002; two sisters, Marie Wilbrandt and Laura Browne; also a brother, Ortwin Dehmlow.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral Chapel, Algonquin. Rev. Rollin Kuznik of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Algonquin, officiating. Burial Algonquin cemetery. Visitation 4-8:00 P.M. at the chapel on Tuesday, February 26, 2002. Memorials may be made to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund.
