Edith Gabrielli
35-year employee of Kline's store

CHICAGO HEIGHTS -- Edith Gabrielli, 90, a lifelong resident of Chicago Heights, and the mother of a St. Anne resident, died Wednesday (May 22, 2002) at St. James Hospital and Health Centers, Chicago Heights.
Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Friday at the Hirsch Funeral Homes, West End Chapel, Lincoln Hwy. and Otto Blvd., Chicago Heights.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Infant Jesus of Prague Church, Douglas St. and Flossmoor Rd., Flossmoor, where she was a member.
Burial will be in Assumption cemetery, Glenwood.
Mrs. Gabrielli retired after 35 years with the former Kline's Department Store in Chicago Heights.
She was born June 26, 1911 in Chicago Heights.
Her husband, Amedeo Gabrielli, died in 1987.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Jasper Capriotti of St. Anne; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Cynthia Gabrielli of Springfield, Va.; one sister, Lena Pierandozzi of Homewood; one brother, Primo Perozzi of Chicago Heights; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
One sister, Mary Bruno; and one brother, Americo Perozzi, are deceased.
She enjoyed cooking.

Edward Jendrzejewski

MILFORD -- Visitation for Edward J. Jendrzejewski, 69, of Milford, will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, with a 7:30 p.m. memorial service, at the Knapp Funeral Home, Milford. Rev. Neil Larimore will officiate.
Mr. Jendrzejewski died Tuesday (May 21, 2002) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, Watseka.
He was born Aug. 5, 1932, in Chicago, the son of Joseph and Vullariea Kwiatkowska Jendrzejewski. His parents are deceased.
His wife, the former Geraldine Sands, whom he married Nov. 6, 1954, in Chicago, died Feb. 17, 1992.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, David and Roxann Jendrzejewski, John Jendrzejewski, Glen and Karen Jendrzejewski, all of Milford; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
One son is deceased.

Gene Brown,
diesel mechanic

TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES, N.M. -- Gene Lyle Brown Sr., 76, of Truth or Consequences, N.M., formerly of Kankakee, died Monday (May 20, 2002) at Sierra Vista Hospital.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Rev. Art Roberts officiated.
Cremation rites were accorded.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday at the Risen Savior Catholic Church in Albuquerque. Rev. Douglas Mitchell will officiate.
Mr. Brown was a retired diesel mechanic.
Arrangements are by French Mortuary and Cremation Services, Truth or Consequences.
He was born May 18, 1926, in Kankakee, the son of Clifford R. and Faye Milk Brown.
Surviving are his wife, Eileen L. Gephart Brown of Truth or Consequences; seven sons and three daughters-in-law, Skip Martin of Tamms, Texas Martin of Houston, Texas, Frank and Linda Martin of Bosque Farms, N.M., Bobby and Mary Martin of Anna, Jim Brown of Virginia, Dell Brown of Rio Rancho, N.M., Gene Lyle Jr. and Gay Brown of Albuquerque, N.M.; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Rosalie and James Kimberlin of Tamms, Karol Stamp of Tucson, Ariz., Sandy and Paul Eddings of Ullin, Jo Allen Myers of Tamms, Loris Dailey of Rio Rancho, N.M.; 48 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Anita Sarwaltz of Kankakee.
Two children, Durward Lynn Martin and Eileen Lorraine Brown, are deceased.
He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows.

Laverne Goode,
retired secretary

LAKE IN THE HILLS -- Laverne E. Goode, 72, of Lake in the Hills, died Wednesday (May 22, 2002) at her daughter's home in Huntley.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the 12:30 p.m. services at Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home, St. Anne. Rev. Bruce Salter will officiate.
Mrs. Goode was a retired technical secretary.
She was born April 15, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of Edgar and Catherine Krueger Maddox.
Surviving are her husband, Belmont L. Goode; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kathleen and Alan Reid of Huntley, Carol Abel of Algonquin; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
One brother, Billy Maddox, is deceased.
She enjoyed shopping, cooking, growing flowers and gardening.

Lois Holmes Mann

LIMESTONE TOWNSHIP -- Lois Holmes Mann, 96, of Limestone Township, died Wednesday (May 22, 2002) at Heritage Center.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Hertz-Thoma Funeral Chapel, Kankakee.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Kankakee, where she was a member.
Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Hospice of Kankakee Valley or to the donor's choice.
She and her husband lived on the Holmestead Dairy Farm. After retirement, she spent winters in Stuart, Fla., where she won trophies for shuffleboard.
She was born March 16, 1906, in Limestone Township, the daughter of John and Pearle Jay Butz.
Her first husband, Derwood Holmes, whom she married Jan. 15, 1925, in Kankakee, died July 25, 1973.
Her second husband, Clair Mann, whom she married Feb. 3, 1979, in Kankakee, died July 3, 1982.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Janice Holmes of Peotone; one daughter and son-in-law, Doreen and Edwin Allers of Manteno; one stepson, Rev. Donald and Hoppie Mann of Waverly; one step-son-in-law, Lee and Eleanor Schilt of Florissant; two sisters, Hazel Sibley and Edna Lively, both of Kankakee; one sister-in-law, Rose "Kitty" Butz of California; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
One step-daughter, Nesta; three brothers, Art, Herb and Ralph Butz; two brothers-in-law, Jack Lively and Frank Sibley; and two sisters-in-law, Lucille and Ella; and one great-grandson, Neal Allers, are deceased.
She was a graduate of Kankakee High School and Gallagher Business School.
Mrs. Mann was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 65 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Ruth Circle.
She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, charter member of the Riverside Limestone Morning TWIG, a longtime member of the As You Like It Club and a former 4-H leader.

Loretta Trumann

MILFORD -- Loretta I. Trumann, 68, of Milford, died Wednesday (May 22, 2002) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, Watseka.
Arrangements are pending at the Knapp Funeral Home, Milford.

Madeliene Belanger

Visitation for Madeliene M. Belanger, 79, of Kankakee, will be from 2 p.m. Saturday until the 5 p.m. services at the Bourbonnais Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. Rev. Don Long will officiate.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
Mrs. Belanger died Wednesday (May 22, 2002) at Provena Our Lady of Victory Nursing Home, Bourbonnais.
She was born May 11, 1923, in St. Anne, the daughter of John and Maymie Bouchard Talley.
Surviving are her husband, Gordon J. Belanger, whom she married June 1, 1940, in Kankakee; one son and daughter-in-law, Gordon L. and Alberta Belanger of Kankakee; one sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Keith Verrill of Momence; three grandchildren, Dawn and Craig Yarger of Streamwood, Robert Belanger of Burbank, Denise Belanger of Kankakee; and one great-grandson, Brenden Yarger of Streamwood.
One son, Kenneth Belanger; three brothers, Lloyd, Lute and Marshall Talley; and one sister, Doris Craycraft, are deceased.
Mrs. Belanger was a homemaker.
She loved her family and listening to WGN radio.
She enjoyed flying kites, wind chimes, working jigsaw puzzles and reading.

Marne Davis

MORRIS -- Marne C. Davis, 49, of Morris, relative of a Coal City resident, died Tuesday (May 14, 2002) at Kindred-Vencor Hospital in Northlake.
Private graveside services were held May 18 at Evergreen cemetery, Morris. Rev. Tom Ostrander officiated.
Memorials may be made to the family.
She was born June 5, 1952, in Morris, the daughter of W. Clark and Margaret M. Menaugh Davis. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are one sister and brother-in-law, Ruth D. and Donald Barkley of Morris; one niece, Lisa Barkley of Morris; one nephew, Clark D. "Buth" and Stephanie Barkley of Coal City; and one great-niece.
She was a 1970 graduate of Morris Community High School.
Miss Davis was employed as secretary with County Companies Insurance, Dr. George Roebuck and John Manor Insurance Agency in Morris. She also worked as office manager for the Grundy County Corn Festival Committee.
She served as an ambassador for the Grundy County Chamber of Commerce, precinct committeeman with the Grundy County GOP and as secretary for the Morris Shrine Club. She was also a past member of the Grundy County Republican Women's Club.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Morris.

Mary Payne

Mary Payne, 74, of Bradley, died today (May 23, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee.
Arrangements are pending at the Hertz-Thoma Funeral Chapel, Kankakee.
Survivors include one son, Ronald Payne of Manteno.

Patricia Offerman

PLAINFIELD -- Patricia G. Offerman, 61, of Plainfield, sister of a Coal City resident, died Monday (May 13, 2002) at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet.
Services were held May 17 at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Plainfield.
Burial was in St. Mary Immaculate Catholic cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Residence in her name.
She was born in Joliet, the daughter of Thomas A. and Betty Ospalik Cerven. Her father is deceased.
Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Ralph E. Offerman of Plainfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Ralph E. and Donna Offerman of Orland Park; one daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Brian Vanacora of Bolingbrook; her mother of Joliet; two granddaughters; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Dorothy Cerven of Coal City, Robert and Mary Ann Cerven of Joliet; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Patricia Redman

WATSEKA -- Patricia Redman, 65, of Watseka, died Wednesday (May 22, 2002).
Arrangements are pending at the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home, Watseka.
