Edmund Seaward
WILMINGTON - Edmund J. "Ted" Seaward, 79, of Wilmington, formerly of Clarenville, Newfoundland, Canada, died Tuesday (Nov. 23, 1999) at his home.
Mr. Seaward owned and operated Seaward Drywall Company.
Private family visitation will be at the Reeves Funeral Home, Wilmington.
A public memorial service will also be held at the Reeves Funeral Home, Wilmington, at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Ken Barnhart will officiate.
Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Wilmington.
Memorials are requested to be made to the Cancer Society.
Surviving are his wife, the former Alice Walters; two sons and one daughter-in-law, William of Wilmington and John and Diane of Coal City; five daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Ken Barnhart of Kansas, Diane and Barney Cleckler of Wilmington, Sue and Steve Pendleton of Missouri, Jayne and Bob Pendergast of Florida and Lori and Dan Johnson of Joliet; three brothers and sisters- in-law, Lloyd and Marjorie, Richard and Lucie and Clarence and Nellie, all of Canada; one sister and brother- in-law, Elizabeth and Clarence Cooper of Canada; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Preceding him in death were two brothers and one sister.
He enjoyed woodworking.

Ruth Hendrix
BUCKINGHAM - Ruth L. Hendrix, 83, of Buckingham, died Sunday (Feb. 27, 2000) at the Illinois Veterans Home, Manteno.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hertz-Thoma Funeral Chapel, Kankakee.
Private services will be held. Deacon Joseph Cotugno will officiate.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home, Volunteer Dept.
She was born March 11, 1916, in Knoxville, Tenn., the daughter of Floyd and Lucretia Billingsley Keith.
Her husband, Everett "Hap" Hendrix, whom she married March 17, 1946, in Knoxville, Tenn., died Jan. 22, 1990.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Judy Hendrix of Buckingham; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Jim Carbonneau of Nassau, Bahamas; one sister, Mildred Hansard of Knoxville, Tenn.; three grandchildren and one great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are one sister, Naomi Hendrix; and one brother, Floyd Hendrix Jr.
Mrs. Hendrix served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, attached to the Air Transport Command at Whitehorse Territory, Yukon Territory.
She was a member of the Herscher American Legion and Auxiliary, the Eastern Star of Cabery, the Elks Ladies Golf Assoc. and the Buckingham Methodist Church.
She loved to golf.

Naomi Knapp
CISSNA PARK - Naomi Knapp, 98, of Cissna Park, died Sunday (Feb. 27, 2000) at Hoopeston Community Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Knapp Funeral Home, Cissna Park.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Apostolic Christian Church, Cissna Park, where she was a member. Ministers of the church will officiate.
Burial will be in Apostolic Christian cemetery, Cissna Park.
Memorials may be made to World Relief or to the Asthma Foundation.
She was born July 16, 1901, in Cissna Park, the daughter of George Sr. and Lydia Beer Young.
Her husband, Clarence A. Knapp, whom she married Aug. 19, 1928, in Cissna Park, died Nov. 21, 1971.
Surviving are five daughters and two sons-in-law, Arlene Knapp of Princeville, Marguriete and Robert Beckman of Twin Peaks, Calif., Sylvia and Lynn Knapp, Lucille Knapp, Marilyn Knapp, all of Cissna Park; three sons and daughters-in-law, Wesley and Judy Knapp of Cissna Park, Norman and Patricia Knapp of Tucson, Ariz., Aaron and Charlene Knapp of Rankin; two sisters, Anna Edelman of Cissna Park, Caroline Bittner of Fairbury; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Knapp enjoyed quilting, gardening and flowers.

Carolyn Craterfield
WILMINGTON - Carolyn "Fae" Craterfield, 50, of Wilmington, died Friday (Feb. 25, 2000) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. Wednesday until the 7 p.m. services at the Reeves Funeral Home, Wilmington. Rev. Frank Berman of the First United Methodist Church will officiate.
Burial will be private.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
She was born April 28, 1948, the daughter of Doug and Agnes Sullivan. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph E. Craterfield, Jr.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Dan Heidemann of Mundelein, Debbie and Terry Craterfield of Wilmington; her father and mother-in-law, Joe and Rita Craterfield; grandparents, Otis and Essie White; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Kevin Aden
CLIFTON - Kevin Lee Aden, 30, of Clifton, died Sunday (Feb. 27, 2000) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee, from injuries received in an auto accident.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Knapp Funeral Home, Clifton, and from 10 a.m. Thursday until the 11 a.m. services at Zion Lutheran Church, Clifton. Rev. William Callister will officiate.
Burial will be in the Gilman cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
He was born March 7, 1969, in Kankakee, the son of Jerry and Sharon Strough Aden.
Surviving are his father of Ashkum; his mother, Sharon Gund of Gilman; one brother and sister-in- law, Craig and Joan Aden of Clifton; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Strough of Gilman; one niece, Caisey of Clifton; and one nephew, Richard of Clifton.
Deceased are his maternal grandfather, Robert Strough; and paternal grandparents, John and Ann Aden.
Mr. Aden had farmed and was a rural mail carrier.
He was a graduate of Central High School, Clifton, and Illinois State University, Normal, with a bachelor of science degree in Ag Business.
He was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity, the Clifton Lion's Club, and St. John's Lutheran Church, Danforth.

Ruth Gelmers
WATSEKA - Ruth L. Gelmers, 79, of Watseka, died Saturday (Feb. 26, 2000) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Tuesday until the 1 p.m. services at the Baier Funeral Home, Watseka. Rev. Joseph Hughes will officiate.
Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Watseka.
Memorials may be made to the Watseka American Legion or to the donor's choice.
She was born March 4, 1920, in Woodworth, the daughter of John and Martha Meyer Bruns.
Her husband, Hank Gelmers, whom she married Nov. 16, 1976, in Watseka, died Aug. 15, 1987.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, James and Denise Zummallen of Watseka, Robert Zummallen of Osage Beach, Mo.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen Olalde and Allan Hodge of Joliet, Janet and Douglas Johnson of Joliet, Marion and Thomas Webster of Donovan; one sister, Olga and Fred Helfers of Wheaton; one brother, Eugene Bruns of Watseka; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Gelmers was retired from Watseka Variety News where she had worked 28 years.
She was past president of the Womens Lady Auxiliary, Watseka.
She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Crescent City.
She was a Cubs fan and enjoyed gardening.

Susan Lucas
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Susan Elizabeth Lucas, 65, of Tallahassee, Fla., formerly of Kankakee, died Saturday (Feb. 26, 2000) in Tallahassee.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Culley's Meadowwood Timberlane Road Chapel, Tallahassee, and will receive friends after the service.
Burial will be in Meadowwood Memorial Park, Tallahassee, Fla.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Surviving are three sons, Brett Q. Lucas of Jacksonville, Fla., Sean D. Lucas of Waukesha, Wis., Chad S. Lucas of Tallahassee, Fla.; one daughter, Melanie L. Lucas of Tallahassee, Fla.; one brother, David Smitgen of Dayton, Ohio; one sister, Judith Duff of McAllen, Texas; and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Lucas attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
She was a volunteer for Epiphany Lutheran School, 2nd Grade Class, and a Literacy Volunteer for Leon County Public Library.
She had been a resident of Tallahassee since 1995.

James Follkie Sr.
James E. Follkie Sr., 71, of Bourbonnais, formerly of Palos Heights, died Sunday (Feb. 27, 2000) at Riverside Medical Center emergency room.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Burial will be in All Saints cemetery, Bourbonnais.
Memorials may be made to the Bourbonnais Fire or Police Department.
He was born March 1, 1928, in Chicago, the son of John E. and Alice O. Almquist Follkie.
Surviving are his wife, the former Evelyn Axelson, whom he married June 6, 1953, in Chicago; two sons and one daughter-in-law, James E. Follkie Jr. of Limestone, Richard and Patricia Follkie of Bourbonnais; and one grandson, Brian Barnes of Bourbonnais.
Deceased is one brother.
Mr. Follkie retired from the 3M Corporation in 1990.
He was a member of the Kankakee Area Radio Society of which he was the secretary; and Our Savior Lutheran Church.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy Submarines Corp.
He was a Kankakee County Weather Spotter for Area Radio Emergency Service.
Mr. Follkie was an Amateur Radio Operator.

Marie Fillman
PONTIAC - Visitation for Marie Fillman, 90, of Evenglow Lodge, Pontiac, will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Hager Memorial Home, Dwight, and from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the 10 a.m. services at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Dwight, where she was a member. Rev. Daniel Ognoskie will officiate.
Burial will be in Goodfarm cemetery, Dwight.
Memorials may be made to Evenglow Lodge or to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Dwight.
Mrs. Fillman died Thursday (Feb. 24, 2000) at OSF St. James Hospital, Pontiac.
She was born Aug. 20, 1909, in Ulm, Ark., the daughter of John and Mary Meyer Fricker.
Her husband, Leslie J. Fillman, whom she married Dec. 20, 1929, in Arkansas, died in July 1988.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Marlyn and Donald Funk of Dwight; one brother and sister-in- law, Roy and Louise Fricker-Devall of Bluff, Ark.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are four brothers and two sisters.
