Everine Tammen

THAWVILLE -- Services for Everine Amelia Tammen, 80, of rural Thawville, were held Jan. 11 at the Thawville Congregational Church. Rev. Tom Jones officiated.
Mrs. Tammen died Jan. 9, 2003.
Burial was in Ridgeland Township cemetery in Thawville. Pallbearers were Todd Whittler, Evan and D.M. Tammen Jr., Mark and Eric Stiegman and Andy Freehill. Honorary pallbearers were Russell Perkinson and Donald Benson.

Jean Theel

Jean Cecelia Theel, 80, of Kankakee, formerly of Janesville and Waterloo, Iowa, died Saturday (Jan. 11, 2003) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, following complications of surgery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 pm Wednesday, with a 7:30 p.m. scripture service at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly. Rev. Mike Tauke will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery in Waterloo.
Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established at a later date.
She was born Dec.18, 1922, in Strawberry Point, Iowa, the daughter of Bryan and Luella Clinton Farmer.
Surviving are her husband, Virgil D. Theel, whom she married June 24, 1946, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Strawberry Point, Iowa; six daughters, Carol (Paul) Yates of El Paso, Texas, Betty Heskett of Waterloo, Iowa, Janice (Walter) Lillibridge of Bourbonnais, Kathy (Carl) Walton of Maybank, Texas, Lola (Jon) Burnett of Garland, Texas, Joyce Theel and Janet Higginbottom of Waxahachie, Texas; four sons, Frederick Theel, Russell Theel, and Kevin Theel, all of Waterloo, Iowa, Bryan (Teresa) Theel of Janesville, Iowa, 30 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; three brothers, William (Dorothy) Farmer of Prairie du Chein, Wis., Robert (Betty) Farmer of Worthington, Iowa, Patrick (Laura) Farmer of Strawberry Point, Iowa; two sisters, Evelyn Stodola of Arizona, and Carolyn Morrissey and her friend Bill Sutherland of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
One son, James Phillip Theel; and one daughter, Donna Forney, are deceased.
She received her teaching certificate in 1941 and taught in the same country school in Strawberry Point that she had attended.
She then moved to Dubuque, Iowa, where she worked as a waitress in several cafes. The couple lived in Dundee, and later moved to Waterloo, Iowa, where she worked at Morg's Lunch as a cook and baker. In the late 1970s the couple moved to Janesville, Iowa, and in 1999, the couple moved to Kankakee.
Mrs. Theel was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly and the CCW. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Janesville, where she was past-president and past secretary; and ALANON. She was currently President of Riverwood Apartments residence council.
Mrs. Theel had volunteered many hours at the Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to several card clubs. She also loved to cook and garden.

Roscoe Zbinden

BLACKSTONE -- Roscoe R. Zbinden, 64, of Blackstone, and the father of a Watseka resident, died Sunday (Jan. 12, 2003) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Winterrowd-Hagi Funeral Home in Streator.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Central Church of Christ, Streator. Rev. Tim Hughes will officiate.
Burial will be in the Blackstone cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, the former Valoy K. Wieting; one daughter and son-in-law, Christine L. and Gary Dudak of Blackstone; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Gerald A. "Jerry" and Denise Zbinden of Watseka, Dean L. and Tammy Matthews of DeKalb, Troy L. Matthews of Chicago and Jay L. and Lisa Matthews of Normal; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Earl F. Zbinden of Watseka.

Lorella Beaupre

CLIFTON -- Visitation for Lorella M. Beaupre, 94, of Clifton, formerly of Bradley, will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, with a 5:30 p.m. wake service at the Senesac Kankakee Funeral Home.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, where she was a longtime member. Rev. Charles Wheeler will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery, Kankakee.
Memorials may be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Mrs. Beaupre died Tuesday (Jan. 7, 2003) at the Merkle Knipprath Home in Clifton.
She was born Dec. 27, 1908, in Beaverville, the daughter of Henry and Georgiana Besse Nourie.
Her husband, Oscar Z. Beaupre, whom she married May 16, 1936, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, died Jan. 4, 1976.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Rita Beaupre of Orland Park; two brothers, Rosewell Nourie of Clifton, Wendell Nourie of Kankakee; and two grandchildren.
One son, Terry Beaupre; one brother, Emerson Nourie; and one sister-in-law, Annabelle Nourie, are deceased.
She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society at her church.

Arlington Bechard
WWII vet

Arlington Bechard, 87, formerly of Kankakee, died Sunday (Jan. 5, 2003) in Sandwich.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services will be held at noon Friday at Mound Grove Gardens cemetery. Rev. Leah Pogemiller of Asbury United Methodist Church will officiate.
He was born July 27, 1915, the son of Stephen and Carrie Meier Bechard.
Surviving are two brothers and one sister-in-law, Earl and Barbara Bechard of Kankakee, Russell Bechard of Leominster, Mass.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Three brothers and two sisters are deceased.
Mr. Bechard served with the U.S. Air Force 1941-1945.

Harold Denoyer
28-year Roper employee

Visitation for Harold E. "Buck" Denoyer, 71, of Bourbonnais, will be from noon Saturday until the 1 p.m. services at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Homes, Bourbonnais. Rev. John Antczak will officiate.
Inurnment will be held at noon Monday in Abraham Lincoln National cemetery in Elwood.
He died Saturday (Jan. 4, 2003) at his home.
Mr. Denoyer had worked at Bradley Roper for 28 years and had worked for National Beef Packing. He was also a skilled carpenter.
He was born Nov. 16, 1931, in St. Anne, the son of Eddie Denoyer and Elsie Nourie. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are seven sons and six daughters-in-law, Anthony and Stephanie Denoyer of Colorado, Joseph and Donna Denoyer of Liberal, Kan., Jeff and Monica Denoyer of Watseka, Robert and Misty Denoyer of Austin, Texas, Tim Denoyer of Champaign, Russell and Barbie Denoyer and Joshua and Amy Denoyer, all of Watseka; one daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Alec Anderson of Rantoul; very special sweetheart and companion, Connie Fier of Bourbonnais and her daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Ron Tarlini and her son, John Fier and their children; two sisters, Eleanor Casper of Bradley, Odell Clemens of Knoxville, Tenn.; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Sherman and Eleanor Denoyer of Kankakee, Raymond and Vivian Denoyer of St. Anne, Albert Denoyer of Blue Island, Lawrence and Jan Denoyer of Bradley; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friend, Gerald Ponton.
One brother, Ralph Denoyer; one sister, Isabelle Elsey; and one grandson, Shane Denoyer, are deceased.
Mr. Denoyer served in the Army 40th Division in Korea from Oct. 1950-Oct. 1953.
He was a member of Maternity BVM Catholic Church, Bourbonnais.
He enjoyed woodworking, traveling and dancing.

Leo Doud

MOMENCE -- Visitation for Leo C. Doud Sr., 90, of Momence, will be from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Cotter Funeral Home in Momence, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Rev. Steven Reynor will officiate.
Entombment will be in Skyline Memorial Park in Monee.
Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
He died Tuesday (Jan. 7, 2003) at Momence Meadows Nursing Center.
Mr. Doud was a retired custodian of Baker and Taylor in Momence and the Momence School District.
He was born April 22, 1912, in Morgan Township, Ind., the son of Nelson H. and Ellen Clouse Doud.
His wife, the former Elsie L. Whitcomb, whom he married Nov. 7, 1923, in Brooke, Ind., died Sept. 9, 2000.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Helen D. and Donald Nusbaum of St. Anne, Bonnie and Wayne Thorne of Iola, Wis., Ethel and Ray Henrichs of Ashkum; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ray and Joan Doud and Henry Doud, all of Momence; one sister, Ella Morris of Indiana; 29 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchlidren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Two brothers; three sisters; two sons, Joseph and Leo; one daughter-in-law, Ruth; and one granddaughter, Lou Anne Doud, are deceased.
He was a member of Illiana Heights Methodist Church.

Florence Garner

MOMENCE -- Florence "Birdie" Garner, 95, of Lake Village, Ind., formerly of Momence, died Friday (Jan. 3, 2003) at Walnut Care Nursing Center in Morris.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services were held at 9:30 a.m. today at Lake Village cemetery, Lake Village, Ind.
Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
Cotter Funeral Home in Momence was in charge of arrangements.
She was born Dec. 13, 1907, in Louisville, Ky., the daughter of David and Cynthia Powell.
Her husband, Tim Garner, whom she married Dec. 21, 1935, in Kentucky, died in July 1993.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Billy Gene and Dolly Garner of Braidwood; two daughters and one son-in-law, Ellie Eckhoff of Lake Village, Ind., Peggy and Andy Cable of South Carolina; nine grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Three brothers and four sisters are deceased.

Chandraprabha Jani

Chandraprabha L. Jani, 82, of Bourbonnais, died Tuesday (Jan. 7, 2003) at Riverside Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. Thursday until the 3 p.m. services at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
She was born April 9, 1920, in Jamnagar, India, the daughter of Dolatrai and Kantaben Dave.
Her husband, Labshankar Jani, whom she married in 1937, died in 1944.
Surviving are one daughter, Sharmista J. Dave of Bourbonnais; one sister, Kusumben Dave of Morbi, India; two brothers, Chandrakantbhai Dave of Jamnagar, India, Mahendrabhai Dave of Lisbon, Portugal; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and godmother, Mukthaben Dave of Lisbon, Portugal.
One sister, Kamlaben Dave, is deceased.
Mrs. Jani was a devotee of the Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago.
She was a member of the Brahmsamaj Society of Greater Chicago.
