Raymond Wolf

BEAVERVILLE -- Raymond "Ray" F. Wolf, 70, of Beaverville, died Thursday (Oct. 9, 2003) at his home after a short illness. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home in St. Anne, and from 10 a.m. Monday until the 11 a.m. services at Immanuel Church of Christ in Papineau. Burial will be in the Papineau cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley. Mr. Wolf was retired from Armour Pharmaceutical. He was born Nov. 8, 1932, in Papineau, the son of Louis and Phoebe Coupal Wolf. His parents are deceased. Surviving are his longtime companion of 20 years, June Neuman of Beaverville; one son, Pete Wolf of Beaverville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Donnie Stilwell of East View, Ky., Bridget and Frank Carman of Webster, Ky., Kim and Keith Stratman of Bunker Hill; two stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Tina and Bryan Benso of Corona, Calif., Cindy and Rick Vaughn of Rossville; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Harold Richardson of Lawrenceburg, Ga.; one brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Hazel Wolf of Manteno; and 12 grandchildren. Two brothers, Orland and Merle Wolf, are deceased. Mr. Wolf served in the U.S. Air Force. He loved fishing, constructing model airplanes and cars.

Harriet Bailey

WILMINGTON -- Harriet C. Bailey, 76, of Wilmington, died Tuesday (Oct. 7, 2003) at her home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Braidwood Chapel, and from 9 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. services at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell. Burial will be in the Bushnell cemetery. Memorials in her name may be made to the Joliet Area Community Hospice. Mrs. Bailey retired in 1991 from Personal Products in Wilmington after more than 30 years of service. She was a licensed practical nurse and had previously been employed at Graham Hospital in Canton for about eight years. She had also worked at the Joliet Arsenal and the Grinchuck Pants Factory in Braidwood. She was born Aug. 9, 1927, in Walnut Grove, the daughter of Jacob "Clyde" and Lena Hamm Barker. Surviving are her husband, Elmer L. Bailey, whom she married Aug. 12, 1950 in Canton; one brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Mildred Barker of Ellisville; and nieces and nephews. She enjoyed camping and fishing.

Donald Bayless

Donald L. Bayless Jr., 35, of Bourbonnais, died Monday (Oct. 6, 2003) at his home. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Bourbonnais Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Church of God Worship Center in Bourbonnais.

Gerald Brown

BIG SANDY, Tenn. -- Gerald "Gerry" Brown, 60, of Big Sandy, Tenn., formerly of Cabery, died suddenly Tuesday (Oct. 7, 2003) while hunting. Services are pending.

John Brutlag

WOODWORTH -- John Brutlag, 87, of Woodworth, died today (Oct. 8, 2003) at the Gilman Nursing Pavilion. Arrangements are pending at the Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.

Frances Carlson

Frances "Fran" Carlson, 82, of Kankakee, died Monday (Oct. 6, 2003) in Utah. Arrangements are pending at the Hertz-Thoma Funeral Chapel in Kankakee. Her husband Jim Carlson preceded her in death.

Robert Collins

MILFORD -- Visitation for Robert E. Collins, 49, of Milford, will be from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the 11:30 a.m. services at the Knapp Funeral Home in Milford. Revs. Tom McCann and Robert Killion will officiate. Burial will be in Sugar Creek cemetery in Stockland. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Mr. Collins died Monday (Oct. 6, 2003) at his home. He was born March 4, 1954, in Watseka, the son of Willie B. and Emeline Allen Collins. Surviving besides his parents of Milford are one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Cheryl Collins of Milford; one nephew, Mark Collins of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and one niece, Amy Jo (Marc) Johnson of Sycamore. One brother, John Owen, is deceased. Mr. Collins was a member of the Nazarene Church in Milford, where he was the church organist. He loved to fish and enjoyed traveling and flowers.

Paul Cresto

MOMENCE -- Paul R. Cresto, 41, of Momence, died Saturday (Oct. 4, 2003) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today at the Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St., Chicago Heights, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Mt. Greenwood cemetery in Chicago. Mr. Cresto was a self-employed trim carpenter specializing in fire restoration. He was a member of the Carpenters Local Union. He was born July 15, 1962 in Chicago. Surviving are one daughter, Carlianne Cresto of Grant Park; one son, Anthony Cresto of Grant Park; his mother, Doris Sommers Cresto of Cobden; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Eileen Cresto of Crete; one niece and three nephews; one great-nephew; and former wife, Lauri of Grant Park. His father, Eugene Cresto; and one brother, Eugene Cresto, are deceased.

Deborah Daniels

WATSEKA -- Deborah Daniels, 56, of Richmond, Calif., died today (Oct. 8, 2003) at her home. Arrangements are pending at the Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.

LaVern Hahs

LaVern Hahs, 82, of Bradley, died Tuesday (Oct. 7, 2003) at Riverside Medical Center. Visitation will be Sunday at the Bourbonnais Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes, with services on Monday. Survivors include his wife Doris. Mr. Hahs was one of the first members to be inducted into the Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000 and was a local sports official for five decades.

Louise Keating

DOWNINGTOWN, Pa. -- Louise M. Schultz Keating, 65, of Downingtown, Pa., formerly of Gardner, died Monday (Oct. 6, 2003) at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m.Thursday and from 9-10:30 a.m. Friday at the James J. Terry Funeral Home in Downington. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Downingtown. Burial will be private. Mrs. Keating was employed at QVC in West Chester, Pa., for the past five years. She was previously employed at Strawbridge in Exton, Pa., and Millprint in Downingtown. She was born in Gardner, the daughter of Leonard and Mary Rapp Schultz. Her parents are deceased. Surviving are her husband of 43 years, John D. Keating; one son, John D. Keating Jr. of Sadsburyville, Pa.; two daughters, Pamela Keating Freid of Collegeville, Pa., Victoria E. Keating-Locke of Pembroke, Mass.; two brothers, James X. Schultz of Gardner, Leonard Schultz of Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Irene Hubert of Fullerton, Calif., Mary Meadows of Dallas, Texas; and five grandchildren. She was a graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in fine and commercial arts and was currently advancing her education. Mrs. Keating was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, where she was a eucharistic minister. She also was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed painting and artistic endeavors.

Whitey McNeil, former local business owner

TAVARES, Fla. -- Whitey McNeil, 86, of Tavares, Fla., formerly of Kankakee, died Saturday (Oct. 4, 2003). Services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Steverson Hamlin and Hilbish Funeral Home in Tavares. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Rd., Bethesda, MD 20814-5231 or 1080 Woodcock Rd. Suite 245, Orlando, FL 32803. Mr. McNeil was the former owner of Christiansen Auto Parts of Kankakee and NAPA of Bradley. He was born in Glaston, N.D. Surviving are his wife Caroline of Tavares; one son, Max McNeil and his fiancee, Kathy Utley, both of Tavares; one daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Roger Grass of Kankakee; one brother, Lyle McNeil of Rancho Viego, Texas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He moved to Tavares in 1982 from Kankakee. Mr. McNeil served for three years as director of Automotive Wholesalers of Illinois and also was a member of the Elks Lodge of Kankakee for 61 years.

Laura Reese

MOMENCE -- Laura Louise Reese, 92, of Momence, died Friday (Oct. 3, 2003) at Momence Meadows Nursing Home. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Friday until the 10 a.m. services at the Leggett Funeral Home in Hopkins Park. Elder Jimmie Stevenson will officiate. Burial will be in the Veterans cemetery in Danville. Mrs. Reese was retired from Alden's Department Store in Kankakee. She was born March 11, 1911, in New Orleans, La., the daughter of Posey Dixon and Ada Hills. Her husband, Jessie Reese, is deceased. Surviving are one daughter, Ora L. Ford of Jackson, Miss.; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Bertha Mondy of Hopkins Park. Mrs. Reese was a resident of the area for 53 years and was a member of the Pembroke Community Reformed Church in St. Anne. She enjoyed dining out and shopping.

Frances Bohl

GILMAN -- Services for Frances L. "Fran" Bohl, 75, of Gilman, were held Oct. 6 at the Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman. Rev. Connie Williams Moodie officiated. Mrs. Bohl died Oct. 2, 2003. Burial was in the Gilman cemetery. Pallbearers were Dave, Dennis and Don Cook, Rod Copas, Bill Price and Jeff Rinkenberger. Honorary pallbearers were Pat Short, Sharon Strohschein and LaVerne Ritzma.

Donald England

MILFORD -- Services for Donald England, 58, of Milford, were held Oct. 7 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Milford. Rev. Neil Larimore officiated. Mr. England died Oct. 3, 2003. Burial was in Maple Grove cemetery, Milford. Pallbearers were Anthony, Dean and Thyrl Fisk, Jerry Dennings, Troy Perkins and Donald Kincade.

Susan Wood

WATSEKA -- Services for Susan M. Wood, 42, of Watseka, were held Oct. 7 at the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Joe Hughes officiated. Mrs. Wood died Oct. 3, 2003. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery in Watseka. Pallbearers were Mike Grubb, Mark Barnard, Mike Toole, Ed Muller, Mark Vaught and Rich Goodman.
