Earl Frame

EARLVILLE -- Earl E. Frame, 81, of Earlville, and the father of a Manteno resident, died today (July 3, 2002) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Mendota.
Arrangements are pending at the Hanley-Gurner Funeral Home, Earlville.
Survivors include one son, Charles Frame, of Manteno.

Glenn Johnson

Glenn E. Johnson, 68, of Bourbonnais, died today (July 3, 2002) at his home.
There will be no visitation or services.
Inurnment will be held at a later date in Macedonia, Ill.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais, is in charge of arrangements.
He was born June 2, 1934, in Macedonia, the son of Guy and Norma Rice Johnson. His father is deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Davault Oliver, whom he married in November 1967, in Momence, of Bourbonnais; one son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Cindy Johnson of Harrisburg, Ill.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Patrick Powers of Golconda, Tammy and Brad Hart of Manteno; one stepson and step-daughter-in-law, Roy and Linda Oliver of Tampa, Fla.; two stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Pat and Dale Galant of Bradley, Joann and Ron Clark of Kankakee; his mother of Bradley; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Donna and Bob Mester and Karen Howdeshell, all of Bourbonnais; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; six stepgrandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
One son, Anthony Johnson; one sister, RuthAnn; and one nephew, Guy Smith, are deceased.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Mr. Johnson was a former employee of M&D; Balloon Company.
He enjoyed fishing.

Johanna Westerhoff

WICHERT -- Johanna Westerhoff, 88, of Wichert, died Tuesday (July 2, 2002) at Miller Center, Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the 10 a.m. services at the First Reformed Church of Wichert. Rev. Gerald Norman will officiate.
Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Wichert.
Memorials may be made to Prison Fellowship-Bonnie and Walter Abbe or to the Moody Bible Institute.
Arrangements by Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home, St. Anne.
She was born Sept. 27, 1913, in Wichert, the daughter of Arthur and Cornelia Koster Schaafsma.
Her husband, Lionel Westerhoff, whom she married Dec. 3, 1935, in Wichert, died Aug. 1, 1986.
Surviving are one son, David Westerhoff of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Karen and Stan James of St. Anne, Peggy and Jeff Lindsey of Nashville, Tenn., Paula Boone of Geneva; one sister, Ida Slingerland of Wichert; one brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Mona Schaafsma of St. Anne; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
One brother, Arthur Schaafsma; and one sister, Evelyn Hoekstra, are deceased.
She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Wichert and the Ladies Organization at the church.
She enjoyed baking and church activities.

Joyce Hobbs

ONARGA -- Visitation for Joyce E. Hobbs, 74, of Onarga, will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Knapp Funeral Home, Onarga, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hobbs died Friday (June 28, 2002) at the Gilman Nursing Pavilion.
She was the owner of the Curiosity Shop for over 20 years.
She was born July 8, 1927, in Joliet, the daughter of Frank and Ruth Varner Mainwood.
Her husband, James H. Hobbs, whom she married June 24, 1951, in Joliet, died Jan. 30, 2001.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Fred Price of Onarga; and two grandsons, Ryan and Darren Price, both of Onarga.
She was a member of the Onarga Lions Club and the Onarga Chamber of Commerce, serving as past president.

Kathryn Johncola

PONCHATOULA, La. -- Kathryn Gallagher Johncola, 83, of Ponchatoula, La., formerly of Bradley, died Saturday (June 29, 2002) at her home
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. services at the Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula. The Dominican Fathers will officiate.
Surviving are her husband, Vito Johncola of Ponchatoula; three daughters, Frances E. Poole of Holden, La., Kathryn E. Murphy of La Place, La., Vita K. Gremillion of Mobile, Ala.; three sons, Raymond D. Shaw Jr. of Kenner, La., Richard W. Shaw of Strongstown, Pa., Ronald P. Shaw of Bradley; two sisters, Alma Strayer of Cleveland, Ohio, Isabel Gallagher of Erie, Pa.; 30 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Marian Eileen Pizzolato; one sister, Lavinna Rolley; one brother, Thomas "Doubt" Gallagher; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, are deceased.

Mercedes Cacello

SOUTH WILMINGTON -- Mercedes Pomatto Cacello, 78, of South Wilmington, died today (July 3, 2002) at the Heritage Manor in Dwight.
Arrangements are tentatively set with visitation Friday and a funeral Mass Saturday.
Arrangements are pending at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, South Wilmington Chapel.

Richard Teske

BEECHER -- Richard J. Teske, 52, of Beecher, died Monday (July 1, 2002) at his home.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. Friday until the 8 p.m. services at the Hack Funeral Home, Beecher. Rev. Ronald Rock will officiate.
Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran cemetery, Beecher.
He was born March 5, 1950, in Hazel Crest, the son of Melvin and Violet Langreder Teske. His father is deceased.
Surviving are two sons, Mark Teske of Beecher, Richard Teske Jr. of Manteno; two daughters, Heather Teske and Ashley Teske, both of Sauk Village; his mother of Beecher; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosemary and Bill Saller, Judy and Mark Zazzetti, Petty and Robert Bruns, all of Beecher; and one brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Cheryl Teske of Beecher.
One brother, Howard; and one sister, Sally, are deceased.
Mr. Teske worked at Macco Body Works.

Theodore Dean

LIMESTONE -- Theodore Kenneth "Kenny" Dean, 75, of Limestone Township, died Tuesday (July 2, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee, after an extended illness.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Hertz-Thoma Funeral Chapel, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Terry Harman will officiate.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born Nov. 19, 1926, in Manteno, the son of Frank and Rena McGlasson Dean.
Surviving are his wife, the former Marie Pries, whom he married in 1948 in Manteno, of Limestone Township; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Lyle and Jackie Weaver Dean of Limestone Township; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol Louise and Robert Lacey of Limestone Township; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Lucille and Wayne Wheeler of Attica, Ind., Adelene and Kenneth Loudy of Bourbonnais, Marjorie McCorkle and Ferne and Ernie Felber, all of Manteno; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Two sisters and two brothers-in-law are deceased.
Mr. Dean had worked for Farm Service, IC Railroad, the Kankakee Foundry, A.O. Smith and KoPak as a maintenance man, where he retired in 1988 as a night supervisor.
He was a past member of the 4th Avenue Baptist Church and the Moose.
He enjoyed woodworking, playing music on the organ, dancing and fixing things.

Evelyn Schroeder

GILMAN -- A funeral Mass for Evelyn Elaine Schroeder, 80, of Watseka, formerly of Gilman, was celebrated July 1 at Immaculate Conception Church, Gilman. Rev. John Balluff officiated.
Mrs. Schroeder died June 27, 2002.
Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery, Gilman.

Wilbert Harrison
WWII vet

MOMENCE -- Visitation for Wilbert Harrison, 81, of Momence, will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. services at St. Anne Woods Chapel. Rev. Louis Barnes will officiate.
Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.
He died Friday (June 28, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee.
Mr. Harrison had been a janitor for the U.S. Post Office in Kankakee.
He was born Sept. 14, 1920, in Decatur, Ala., the son of Wilbert and Ernestine Hunt Harrison.
Surviving are his wife, the former Laura Ann Washington, whom he married April 17, 1960, in Hopkins Park, of Momence; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Ronald V. Harrison of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kendall K. Harrison, Vincent C. and Jeanette Harrison, all of Momence, Harold R. and Janice Harrison of Watseka, Kirk A. and Rosemary Harrison of St. Anne; 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Three sons; one brother; and one sister, are deceased.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II.
He enjoyed fishing, baseball and football.

Bernice Cline

SHELDON -- Visitation for Bernice Matilda Cline, 86, of Iroquois, formerly of Sheldon, will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 5 at the Knapp Funeral Home, Sheldon.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6 at Prairie Dell cemetery, Iroquois.
Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice.
Mrs. Cline died Wednesday (June 26, 2002) at the home of her granddaughter, Debbie and Jerry Cotter of Iroquois.
She was a retired registered nurse having worked in Fairfax, Va.
She was born Oct. 6, 1915, in Concord Township, the daughter of Ora and Clara Carpenter Appleget.
Her husband, Ralph Clinton Cline, whom she married Nov. 9, 1932, in Kentland, Ind., died Nov. 9, 1975.
Surviving are one son, Richard Cline of Freemont, Calif.; one daughter, Marilyn Berry of Sheldon; one sister, Betty Lueke of Sheldon; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; one stepsister, Marion Kottcamp of Watseka; and one stepbrother, George Sullivan of Pontiac.
Three brothers, Jack and Clarence Appleget and Arthur Barr; and one sister, Marie Wall, are deceased.
She was a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary.
She enjoyed going to auctions, traveling and flowers.
