Raquel Carmona
Raquel Carmona, 20, a 14-year resident of Lake Zurich, died Jan. 15 in Lake Zurich. She was born Oct. 23, 1986 in Mexico.
Funeral services were held Jan. 20 at St. Francis de Sales Church, Lake Zurich. Interment was in St. Michael the Archangel cemetery, Palatine.
Ms. Carmona is survived by her parents, Juan and Raquel Carmona; her grandparents, Trinadad Maria Carmona, Rosario Carmona, Juan Carmona; aunts and uncles, Guillermina Carmona, Matilde Socorro Pilar, Alejandro Adrian Joel Jose, and Pedro Solache; nieces and nephews, Enrique, Adliene, Jacquelin, Leslie, Lizet, Edgar and Christopher.
Funeral arrangements were made through Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, Lake Zurich.

Barbara K. Barr
Barbara K. (nee Tischer) Barr, 71, of Kildeer, formerly of Easton, Penn., died Jan. 21 in Kildeer. She was born Nov. 25, 1935 in St. Louis, Mo.
Funeral services and interment were private.
Mrs. Barr was a member of Alpha Xi Delta at Washington University for undergraduate and University of Wisconsin-Madison for graduate. She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church in Pennsylvania.
She is survived by her ex-husband, James K. Barr, her children, Deborah (Bela) Pentek and David Barr; grandchildren, Sarah and David Pentek; brother, Arthur (Carol) Tischer; nieces, Katherine Bello, Elizabeth Dufresne and Anne Cota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur H. and Helen C. Tischer of St. Louis, Mo.
Funeral arrangements were made through Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home in Lake Zurich.

Michael J. Kipnis
Michael J. Kipnis, 40, of Lake Zurich, died Jan. 18. He was born May 4, 1966, in Chicago.
Services were held Jan. 23 at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, Lake Zurich. Interment was in Randhill Park.
Mr. Kipnis was the owner of the Expert Auto Repair for more than a decade. He was a dear friend and considered a brother to many.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Beth (nee Liedtke), his wonderful children, Heather, Jennifer and most recently Susan Pacanowski; his dear parents, Julius and Diana (nee Szafronowicz) Kipnis; his loving grandmother, Fran Bittenfield; and sisters, Lana (John) Mannion, Karen (Rick) Lee; great aunt and uncle, Mary and Sam Kaplan; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey.

Warren W. "Bill" Findling
Warren W. "Bill" Findling, 82, of Crystal Lake and formerly of Wauconda, died Jan. 14, 2007 at home. He was born Sept. 3, 1924 in Detroit, son of Warren and Nancy Findling.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, former executive secretary of the Wauconda Chamber of Commerce, former VFW member in Dundee and a former Masonic Lodge member in Prescott, Ariz.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; his children, Diane (Archie) LaMar, James, Michael (Cindy) and Barbara (Butch) Beyers; his grandchildren, Scott (Jennie), Shawn and Shannon LaMar, Clayton and Rena Beyers, and Nicole, Kari, Bill and Danielle Findling; and his niece and nephews, Cindy, Kevin and Steve Brumagen.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service was held Jan. 17 at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home in Wauconda.

Richard Karl Roesler
Richard Karl Roesler, 86, of Wauconda, died Jan. 19, 2007 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. He was born Feb. 9, 1920 in Germany, son of Robert and Anna Roesler. He married Liesbeth Lucy (nee Berndt) Roesler. He worked as a machinist at Union Special in Huntley. He also enjoyed being an artist. He loved potted geraniums and pansies.
Survivors include his daughters, Christine L. (Walter) Grollitsch, Annemarie R. (Gary) Hogan, and Evelynn R. (Michael) Rhyner; nine grandchildren Walt (Amy) Grollitsch, Ricka Mueller, Sonia (Marc) Morris, Brenton Hogan, and Alex, Becky, Derek, Claire, and Evan Rhyner; and four great-grandchildren, Augustine Grollitsch, Micah Grollitsch, Joshua Grollitsch, and Abigail Mueller.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a sister, Herta Roesler.
The visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, until the memorial service at 11 a.m. at Wauconda Evangelical Free Church, 700 W. Liberty St. (Route 176), Wauconda. Interment will be at Windridge Memorial Park.

Bernice Pirie Anderson
Bernice "Bea" Pirie Anderson (nee Fey), 99, of Pompano Beach, Fla., formerly of Park Ridge and Chicago, died Feb. 13.
She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Chicago, Park Ridge and Pompano Beach. She was a Sunday School teacher, Bible school organizer and active in the women's groups at the Methodist Camp Ground in Des Plaines, where the family kept a summer home. In later years, she was a member of the "kitchen band."
She held similar positions at the First Methodist Church of Park Ridge, where she once taught Hillary Rodham in Sunday School class.
Church and spiritual caring for others was an important part of her life. She did much volunteer work in Illinois and in Florida. In her 80s, she became a Stephens minister.
She was remembered for her sense of humor, her love of travel, and her interests in music and education.
She is survived by her sons, David (Suzanne) Pirie of Lake Zurich, and John Pirie of Alpharetta, Ga.; grandchildren, Margaret, Melanie and John J. Pirie; stepsons, David (Claire) and Richard (Joan) Anderson and their children.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Albert Pirie in 1974 and Anders Anderson in 1990, a daughter, Margaret Pirie Mosberger, and her brother Edward Fey.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. March 21 at John Knox Village, Pompano Beach, Fla. A second service will be held in the summer at the Methodist Camp Ground in Des Plaines.

Debra Schwerdtman
Debra Schwerdtman (nee Discher), 48, of Ingelside, died March 25 from a brain aneurysm at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry. She was born June 13, 1958, in Chicago, daughter of David and Margaret (nee Dobias) Discher.
Debbie and her husband, Robert, owned and operated Bob's Frame Shop in Lindenhurst from 1994 to 2005. They had recently sold the business to pursue other interests. Her hobbies were gardening, professional flower arranging and crafting. She worked at the Ben Franklin in Wauconda for almost 30 years, before venturing into her own business. She also taught craft class and children's craft camps over the years. She tirelessly gave of herself, never ever thinking of the toll it might take on her. She will be so deeply missed by all that had the privilege to know her. "Our Debbie gave us the wonderful gift of herself."
Survivors include her husband, the love of her life, Robert, whom she married on Sept. 7, 1991, in Wauconda; her siblings, Kevin (Donna Mae), David (John), Gary (Jenny) and Margie (Steve) Dalton; her nieces and nephews, Steven, Kyle, Mandy, Colleen, Tom, Jackie, Kayla, Jake, and Sarah Margaret. (Like two "peas in a pod," Sarah and Debbie became the best of friends, enjoying making crafts and taking many trips to the train stations to visit the trains.); a stepson, Matt Pitz, who lives with his mother in Marshfield, Wis.; her beloved dog, "Duke,"; and her cats, Bootz, Blackie, Gizmo, Sophie and Greta.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Margaret; and her nephew, Mike Rheiner. "They must have really needed her."
Debbie was an organ donor, and all of her organs found recipients.
Her wish was to be cremated. A family picnic to celebrate her wonderful life will be planned around her birthday.

Constantine P. "Dean" Coorlas
Constantine P. "Dean" Coorlas, 89, of Lake Zurich, died recently. He was a WWII veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Marge G. (nee Anton); his children, Eunice, Peter C. Coorlas and Maria (William) Welch; his grandchildren, Billy, Courtney, Meg and Michael Welch; his siblings, Angeline (the late Andrew) Fasseas, Stratte P. (the late Helen) Coorlas; his brother-in-law, Peter G. (Mary) Anton; his sister-in-law, Viola Anton; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter C. and Eugenia Coorlas; and his brother-in-law, John G. Anton.
A funeral service was held April 17 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago. Interment was in Elmwood cemetery. Arrangements were made by John G. Adinamis Funeral Director, LTD.

Frances T. Dirsa
Frances T. (nee Tansey) Dirsa, of Highland Park, died.
Survivors include her husband, Edward F.; her siblings, Katherine J. Tansey and John W. Tansey; her nephew, James Tansey; and her niece Nancy Schoonover.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. A funeral will take place 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Pius V. Lucille Miller
Lucille Miller, 94, of Long Grove and formerly of Barrington, died.
She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Barrington.
Survivors include her children, Judith (John) Deagan and Mary (Thomas) Maple; her grandchildren, John (Amy) Deagan, James Deagan, Paul Deagan, Brett (Sarah) Bending, Sara (Peter) Hannigan and Bart Bending; her great grandchildren, Kailey Deagan, Brittaney Deagan and Harrison Bending; her sibling, Julian Claude; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto; and by her sister Marjorie Langhorst.
Services were private. Arrangements were made by Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home in Lake Zurich.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated for the Barrington Fire Department or St. Paul United Church of Christ in Barrington.

Hildegard K. Zimmermann
Hildegard K. (nee Gross) Zimmermann, age 88, died April 20 at home in Deer Park. She was born Nov. 4, 1918 in Chicago. Hildegard was loving wife of the late Frank M. Zimmermann, loving mother of Frank S. (Karin), Ronald M. (Pamela), and Stefan (Kathy); dear grandmother of Betty (Mike) Erdahl, Russell (Stephanie), Ronald A. (Heidi), Thomas (Julie), Sara (Matthew) Williamson and Katie Zimmermann; fond great grandmother of five. Visitation was held April 23 at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Services, 415 Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. A funeral Mass was held April 24 at St. Anne Church in Barrington and interment was at St. Michael the Archangel cemetery, Palatine.
She was a 40-year leader of Girl Scout Troop 54, in Chicago; a fund-raiser for St. John Berchmans Church, Chicago; a graduate chef from Washburn Trade School, Cake decorating teacher for Kitchen Kapers; manager for over 10 years of Grand Oaks Realty, Wilmette. She was an avid painter, gardener, square dancer, seamstress, camper and pianist. She was inducted into the Barrington Area Senior Hall of Fame and was also a president and co-founder of the Michael Joseph Foundation.
