MARTHA E. SNEDECOR
West Frankfort
Martha E. Snedecor, age 84, of West Frankfort, died Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. at the Frankfort Care Center in West Frankfort. She was born October 4, 1917 in Eldorado to Walter Sanders and Emma (Spencer) Sanders. She married Earl Snedecor on September 28, 1935, in Eldorado. He preceded her in death on October 30, 1997.
Snedecor was a member of the Southpoint Church of God in West Frankfort and was retired from the Simmons Mattress Co. of Munster, Indiana.
Survivors include a son, Karl Snedecor and his wife, Wilma; one granddaughter, Cynthia Jones and her husband Jeffrey; and two great grandchildren, Andrew and Brooke Jones, all of Highland, Indiana.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jessie Sims and Marion Steinberger; three brothers, Claude, Rostelle and Clyde Sanders; and one great grandson, Stephen Jones.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort with Pastor Tod Parchman, Pastor Ted Anderson, and Rev. Tina Parchman officiating. Burial will be in the Wolf Creek cemetery in Eldorado.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday to the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort.

ANNETTI (JUNKINS) WILLIAMS
Formerly of West Frankfort
Annetti (Junkins) Williams, age 96, formerly of West Frankfort, died Monday at the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville.
Williams was born on September 2, 1905, in West Frankfort to Carrol and Flora (Sanders) Whittington.
Williams was a school teacher, having taught over 50 years in the West Frankfort school system. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of West Frankfort and the Delta Theta Tau Sorority.
She is survived by a son, Jack Williams and his wife, Mildred of Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandson, Jack Timothy Williams and wife, Connie of Minneapolis, Minnesota; granddaughter, Janet Lynn Engesether and husband, John of Lindstrom, Minnesota. She is also survived by great grandchildren Kelly Williams, Rebecca Williams, Jessica Engesether and Jenny Engesether.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Wilson Whittington.
Funeral services for Williams will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Stone Funeral Home in West Frankfort. Interment will follow in Maplewood cemetery in Marion. Friends may call at Stone Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Friday.

NORMA L. HARRELL
Mt. Vernon
Norma L. Harrell, 76, died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2003, in St. Mary's/Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born Aug. 3, 1926 in Mulkeytown to Charles and Hazel (Milburn) Hill and married Milford "Doc" Harrell on May 26, 1951 in DuQuoin. He survives.
Norma was a homemaker and a registered nurse at Marshall Browning Hospital in DuQuoin and a member of the Central Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband, her two sons Dick Harrell of West Frankfort and Tom Harrelll and his wife Tina of Martin, Ga., her daughter Lee Ann Hogg and her husband Paul of West Frankfort and her grandchildren Stasia Georges of Martin, Ga., Jennifer Hogg of West Frankfort and Kristy Dodd and her husband Derek of Clarksville, Tenn.
She also leaves a great-grandson, Tadan Dodd of Clarksville, Tenn., a brother Dean Hill and his wife Arlene of Steelville and her sisters Verble Swisher of Mulkeytown, Pauline Anheuser and her husband Clark of DuQuoin and Gerry Kowzan also of DuQuoin and several nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, a son James Roger Harrell, her brother Les Hill and a sister Billie Caselton.
Services for Norma Harrell are scheduled fo 10 a.m. Saturday March 8, 2003 at the Hughey Funeral Home with burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Park in DuQuoin. Ministers Randy Sells and Jamie Allen will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church.

Ina Stanley
Ina Stanley, 28, of West Frankfort, died 11:20 a.m., Sunday, March 18, 2001, on Yellow Banks Road in Franklin County.
She was employed by Crownline Boats. She was a 1990 graduate of Frankfort Community High School where she participated in basketball and softball.
Survivors include her father, Bill Stanley, of West Frankfort; mother, Betty Stanley, of West Frankfort; maternal grandfather, Virgil Isaacs, of Thompsonville; four brothers, Randy Stanley and wife, Debbie,George Stanley, Willie Stanley and wife, Cathy, and Andy Stanley, all of West Frankfort; two sisters, Dasiy Stanley and her twin sister, Ida Miller, both of West Frankfort; four neices, Casey, Randi and Alecia Stanley and Kaylee Dunn; two nephews, Jarrod and Tyler Dunn, whom she loved dearly; and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort with Rev. Randy Carney officiating. Burial will follow in Denning cemetery in Orient.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Tuesday, Marcy 20, 2001.

Joanna Jack
Joanna Jack, 97, of Johnston City, died 9:45 a.m., Sunday, March 18, 2001, at Parkway Manor in Marion.
She was born March 26, 1903, in Scotland to Robert Jack and Jane Greg. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Ladies Quilter's Club of the church and the Senior Citizens Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Jack.
Survivors include one nephew and one niece.

Timothy D. Dawley
Timothy D. Dawley age 47 of Burlington, WI. (Town of Wheatland) passed away Sunday afternoon, April 8, 2001 in the Town of Randall, WI., of injuries sustained in an accident.
He was born on July 8, 1953 in Burlington, WI., the son of the late Donald and Ione Smetana Dawley. He has been a resident of the Town of Wheatland all his life. He attended Wilmot High School and attended Gateway Technical College for Electronics servicing. He worked as an electrician for the I.B.E.W. Local 150 Electricians Union in Lake County, IL since 1985. He enjoyed music, playing guitar and harmonica, the outdoors, cars and triathalons.
He is survived by: one son Ryan of Winthrop Harbor, IL; Three daughters Jessica Dawley of Whitewater, WI., Tara Dawley of Winthrop Harbor, IL., Carey Dawley of Kenosha, WI; five sisters Linda (Jim Rose) Dawley of Burlington, WI., Mary Rozell of Boulder, CO., Brenda (Thomas) Rummel of Cheektowaga, NY., Nanette (Greg) Wilmot of Burlington, WI., Barbara (Tom) Calkins of Twin Lakes, WI.; four brothers Brian (Mary Beth) of Powers Lake, WI., Christopher (Donna) of Powers Lake, WI., Jon (Angel) of Burlington, WI., Cory (Ann) of Salem, WI.
He was preceded in death by one brother David Dawley and two nephews Keith Rummel and Aron Dawley.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2001 at the HAASE-DERRICK-LOCKWOOD FUNERAL HOME, 620 Legion Dr. Twin Lakes, WI. Interment will be in Mound Prairie cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the HAASE-DERRICK-LOCKWOOD FUNERAL HOME. Memorial remembrances may be made to the Dawley Children's Fund.

Shirley M. DeThorne
Shirley M. DeThorne (nee Beeman), 80, of Crystal Lake and formerly of Waukegan, Illinois passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2001 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.
She was born April 22, 1920 in Waukegan and remained a lifelong resident. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and the Church Choir. Shirley was an avid Cub fan and a charter member of the Diehard Cub Fans Club. Prior to her retirement, she was a 29 year employee of Abbott Laboratories in the hospital pricing department.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Susan) DeThorne of Crystal Lake, IL., Marilyn (Bob) O'Hanlon of Willowbrook, IL., and Douglas (Marijo) DeThorne of Waukegan; 6 grandchildren, Kristen (Dan Davis, Kimberly (Dan) Griffin, Kelly (Ed) Tabisz, Meredith (Dan) Bolan, Dawn (Michael) Nukkala, Bradley (Nely) DeThorne; great grandchildren, Tate, Molly, Cate, Abby, Grace, Caroline, Megan, Paige, Abby and Chloe; her sister Sylvia (Robert) Rehula of Waukegan; several nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Minx. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Roy and Nellie (nee Wilson) Beeman, and her brother Mackie Beeman.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday April 12, 2001 at Christ Episcopal Church, 410 Grand Ave., Waukegan with Fr. Albert Majkrzak officiating. Friends may call at PETERSON-PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd. Waukegan from 5 to 8 P.M. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.

Louis J. Dobesch
Louis J. Dobesch, 84, a Lake County resident for many years, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2001 at Condell Memorial Hospital, Libertyville, IL.
He was born January 14, 1917 in Chicago, IL. Mr. Dobesch was an Army Veteran of WW II, a life member of VFW #4308 in Lake Villa, IL., a member of the UAW and formerly employed at International Harvester in Libertyville for 14 years.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn, a stepson Ronald D. (Jacqueline) Potter, Sr., grandchildren Charles A. (Robin) Potter and Ronald J. Potter, Jr., and great grandchildren Tasha and Chad.
Funeral services and interment will be private. Memorials given in his memory to the Heart Association would be appreciated. KISSELBURG-WAUCONDA FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements. (847) 526-2115.

Vivian M. Fromme
Vivian M. Fromme, 89, of Waukegan passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2001 at the Terrace Nursing Home in Waukegan.
She was born January 21, 1912 in Neoga, IL and had been a Waukegan resident since 1951.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Waukegan, a graduate of the University of Illinois and a member of Zeta Tau Alpha. Her local volunteer activities included the Board of Directors of the Waukegan Branch of the American Association of University Women, YWCA, Glen Flora PTA, Band Parents Association, Lake County Community Concert Association, Friends of the Waukegan Public Library, Past President of the Waukegan Woman's Club, member Past President's Club of the Tenth District of the Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs, and she was also active in the Family Service Agency.
She is survived by her son, Barrie Fromme of Waukegan; her daughter, Jane-Anne Monaco of Waukegan; grandchildren, Ellyn Fromme of VA and Monte Carlo Monaco of Waukegan; and two great grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Fromme in 1971.
Friends may call at PETERSON-PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan on Wednesday, April 11, 2001 from 12 Noon until time of service at 1 PM with Rev. Omar Logan and Rev. Dr. Gehl Devore co-officiating. Interment will be at Dodge Grove cemetery in Mattoon, IL.

Maude S. Gillings
Maude S. Gillings, 97 years old of Russell, IL., passed away Saturday, April 7, 2001 at Provena St. Therese Medical Center, Waukegan, IL. She was born May 6, 1903 in Kenosha, WI., the daughter of the late Tom and Minnie (Ames) Edwards. She lived in Rosecrans before settling in Russell for the past seventy years. She attended the Millburn Congregational Church and was active with the Ladies Aid of the Russell church. Her special interests included gardening, sewing and rug weaving. On November 10, 1923 she married Robert Gillings in Waukegan, IL. and he preceded her in death on October 5, 1980.
Survivors include two sons, Robert (Sharon) of Zion and Fred (Mary Ann) of Winthrop Harbor, IL., and one daughter Dorothy Hlastava of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was the grandmother of seven and great grandmother of six. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Charlie and two sisters, Ida Howard and Ione Crawford.

Ruth E. Jedele
Ruth E. Jedele, 96 years old of Antioch, Illinois, passed away Monday, April 9, 2001 at her home. She was born June 5, 1904 in North Bend, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late James and Jennie (Wilson) Thomas. She had lived in Wilmot and Kenosha, WI., before moving to Antioch in 1953. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and had taught Latin and English at Wilmot High School. Ruth was a past president of the Antioch Library Board of Directors and the Antioch Women's Club; former treasurer of the Antioch Mental Health Association and a volunteer for Telecare in Antioch. She also was an avid reader. On August 5, 1943, she married Norman Jedele in Wilmot, WI., and he preceded her in death on November 23, 1990.
Survivors include one son, John (Mary) of Antioch; one daughter, Rhoda (Milton) Urbates of Beach Park, IL., and five grandchildren: Karen, Donna, Joanne, Janet (Anthony) and James. In addition to her husband, she was preceded by seven brothers, Calvin, Wilson, Robert, Stanley, William, Glenn and Spencer Thomas.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St., (Rte 83), Antioch. Interment will be private. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 P.M. Wednesday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions to the Antioch Rescue Squad or the Antioch Mental Health Association in her memory.

Victoria Carrie Julian
Victoria Carrie Julian, age 89, a lifetime resident of Lake Forest, died at her home April 7, 2001. She was born in Lake Forest, August 23, 1911.
Victoria was a former employee of Lake Forest Hospital's Gift Shop, she began working there in 1941 and became the shop's first manager in 1953. She retired in 1970 after 29 years of employment. Mrs. Julian was also one of the founders of Lake Forest Hospital's Ten Year Club. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest.
She was the wife of the late John Julian, sister of Hilda Winroth of Carbondale, aunt of Karen Lanchester of Carbondale and Margaret Dunn of Cornwall, England and cousin of Waldron Julian of Lake Forest.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, April 12, at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest, Deerpath at Sheridan Road. No visitation. Interment will be private. Madeline G. Knighton
Madeline G. Knighton, 79, of Beach Park, Illinois, died Sunday,April 8, 2001 at Kenosha Hospital and Medical Center.
She was born in Greenville, TN., on July 28, 1921, the daughter of the late Jesse M. and Jessie (Willet) Jones. She attended public schools in Greenville. On December 17, 1938 in Jonesboro, she married Joseph C. Knighton. They moved to Beach Park in 1976. Madeline worked for Ann's Hallmark in Beach Park as a sales clerk in the early 1980's. She had most recently been employed at the VA Hospital in North Chicago as a volunteer.
She is survived by her husband Joseph of 63 years, of Kenosha; one daughter Judith M. (Theodore) Higgins of Pleasant Prairie; four sons, Joseph Ronald (Mary) of Knoxville, TN., James Allen (Carol) of Uncasville, CT., John Doyle of Miramar, FL., and Jeffrey Lynn (Debbie) of Round Lake; one sister, Lola (Wade) Whitson of Nasvilee, TN.; 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy; two sisters,Mary Devoti and Juanita Sanson and five brothers: Hugh, Doyle, J.M., and Dale Jones and Leon Barham.
Funeral services for Madeline will be held Wednesday evening in Greenville, TN. BRUCH FUNERAL HOME, KENOSHA is serving the family locally.

Selene A. Martinez
Selene A. Martinez, 18, of Gurnee, Illinois passed away April 8, 2001 in Chicago, Illinois. She was born November 1, 1982 in Waukegan. Selene was a member of Holy Family East Church in Waukegan. She was a student at Warren Township High School in Gurnee, Almond Campus.
Survivors include her parents, Lidia and Manuel Martinez of Gurnee, 3 sisters: Martha, Beatriz and Jasmin, her grandparents Julian and Margarita Martinez along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, April 12, 2001 at Holy Family East, 501 S. Utica Street,Waukegan, IL. Burial will follow at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and Thursday from 9:00AM - time of service at the Church. MARSH FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.

Reverend Johnie Myers
Reverend Johnie Myers, 84, of North Chicago, IL passed away Friday, April 6, 2001 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan, IL.
Rev. Myers was born on November 12, 1916 in Carlisle, Mississippi to the late George Myers and Minnie Wilson. He moved to North Chicago in 1953.
He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was called into the ministry many years ago. He was an active member of the Ministers Alliance. He was the Assistant Pastor at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church as early as the 1950's and was an Associate Minister of St. John's Missionary Baptist Church under the Pastorate of the late Reverend Henry Johnson for several years until his health declined. He was recently taken in by Reverend Clarence Clark, Pastor of Christian Valley Baptist Church in North Chicago, IL.
He was in the United States Navy and was active in World War II. He was a member of the Masons for many years.
Rev. Myers also managed the 14th Street Laundromat for many years and is remembered by his friends and customers for his service and dedication to the community. He also did maintenance at the Libertyville Barber Shop and hauling on the side to provide for his family.
He leaves to cherish one brother, Calvin (Lois) Myers of Nacogdoches, TX; nine daughters, Maggie (Dennis) Green of Marboro, MD, Ollie Love, Marie Taylor, Louise (Leroy) Johnson and Helen (Henry) Walls of North Chicago, Frances Vickers of Memphis, TN, Mary (Charlie) Love, Delores Callahan and Annette (Donald) Miskel of Waukegan, IL; nine sons, Johnny (Agnita) Myers of Schaumburg, IL, Walter Rucker of Memphis, TN, JW. Myers of Mississippi, Freddie (Brenda) Myers of Waukegan, IL, Larry (Renae) Myers of Houston, TX, William Myers and Keeyahta (Khadijah) Myers of Zion, IL, Donald (Carmen) and Ronald Myers of North Chicago; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his former wives, Elizabeth Myers and Ruthie Myers-Williams; seven brothers, Lynn, Fred, William, Albert, Melvin and Lynnberg Myers and Rev. Louis Gilbert; two sisters, Frances Owens and Minnie Wilkins; five children, Albert ("Skeet"), Albert and Jeffrey Myers, Jeremiah Powell and Marguerite Powell.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, April 12, 2001 at the Christian Valley Missionary Baptist Church, 2690 Argonne Drive, North Chicago, IL with Pastor Clarence Clarke officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park cemetery, Zion, IL.
Visitation will be at the church Thursday from 10 AM until time of service. Arrangements by BRADSHAW AND RANGE FUNERAL HOME, 2513 Dugdale Road, Waukegan, IL. 847-662-3553.
