Eula Jo Faulkner
Eula Jo Faulkner, 79, of Gurnee, passed away on July 24, 2004 at the University of Illinois Medical Center. She was born on August 17, 1924 in Italy, TX.
She was the devoted and unwavering care giver and loving mother of Keith Faulkner of Skokie, IL, survived by Brian (Mitzi) Faulkner of Gurnee and Lee Ann (Bill) Stinchcomb of Gurnee; seven grandchildren, Mallorie Holler, Joey Holler, Amy Stinchcomb, Taylor Stinchcomb, Jessica Faulkner, Allison Faulkner and Justin Faulkner. Numerous nieces and nephews.
preceded in death by her husband, James Edwin Faulkner in 1996, two sisters, Katherine Mozelle Pendley and Vivian Ruth Kelly.
In lieu of flowers donations to the department of neurology, University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago.

Mary A. Furlan
Mary A. Furlan (nee Vican), 89 of Pleasant Prairie, WI and formerly of North Chicago, IL, died Sunday, July 25, 2004 at the Grand Prairie Nursing Home in Pleasant Prairie, WI.
Mary was born September 19, 1914 in North Chicago, IL. Mary was a former member of Mother of God and presently a member at St. Mary's Church in Kenosha, WI., a member of the Slovenian Pensioneers and St. Anne's K.S.K.J Sloga Lodge #127.
She is survived by six children, John Sundstrom of Richmond, VA, Janet (Charles) Cerk of Waukegan, IL, Joseph Furlan of Scottsdale, AZ, Nancy Kaplan of Kenosha, WI, Dorothy Furlan of Zion, IL and Daniel (Patricia) Furlan of Wadsworth, IL; fifteen grandchildren; 21 great-great grandchildren; also a brother, Steve (Maxine "Mickey") Vican of Waukegan, IL and a nephew, the late David (Sue) Everett of Colorado and two nieces, Patricia Smith of Georgia and Deborah Carter of Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Sundstrom in 1964 and her second husband, Joseph Furlan in 1984; a sister, Faye Everett in 1997 and a brother, Joseph Vican.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Anastasia Church in Waukegan, IL on Wed., July 28, 2004 at 10:00 AM with interment to follow at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville, IL. Visitation for friends and relatives will be held from 5-8 PM Tuesday, July 27 at the Salata-Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee, IL.

Joyce A. Hart
Joyce A. Hart, age 60, of Round Lake, passed away Sunday night at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was born on June 5, 1944 in Chicago.
Joyce is survived by her mother, Rose (nee Quinn) Hart-Brzozowski; siblings, Rosemary (Richard) Uscila of Round Lake, Arthur (Roberta) Hart of Geneva, and James (Debbie) Hart of Lake Villa; her beloved nieces and nephews, Vicki (Craig) Selle of Mundelein, Mike Uscila of Round Lake, Michael (Aliye) Hart of St. Charles, Christine Hart of Geneva, Jimmy (Michelle) Hart of Lindenhurst, and Derek (Jen) Hart of Round Lake. She was also a loving great aunt of Mark, Paige, and Quinn Selle; Sean and Ryan Hart; and Halie Elaina and Quentin Hart.
Joyce's father, Arthur G. Hart, niece, Michelle Hart and nephew, Rick Uscila, preceded her in death.
All services are private.

Bruce A. Hudgens
Bruce A. Hudgens, 58, of Waukegan passed away on Friday, July 23, 2004 at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born October 23, 1945 in Long Beach, California, was raised in Carrollton, Ohio and had been a long time resident of Waukegan. He graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a B.S. in Chemistry in 1967. During his military service, he qualified as an expert marksman and served in Korea as a Medic with the U.S. Army, 43rd Surgical Hospital (MASH). He returned to Miami University, received an M.S. degree, and then attended the University of South Carolina from which he received a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry in 1975. After conducting post-doctoral research at the Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Toledo and University of Missouri, he was employed in 1979 by the USG Corp. and worked at it's central research facility for 25 years. He also served on the governing board of the American Association for Applied Spectroscopy-Chicago Section. At home, he was an avid amateur observational and computational astronomer, personal computer expert and cat enthusiast.
Survivors include his parents, Claude and Virginia Hudgens of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, Jeffrey Hudgens; and a sister, Claudia Watson. Also surviving are a niece, Christiana Watson; and nephews, Sean Hudgens and Graham Watson.
A visitation will be held from 5 until 7 PM on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, LTD, 120 W. Park Ave, Libertyville. Interment services will be held at 11 AM of Friday, July 30, 2004 at Fountain cemetery, near Marion, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Wegner's Granulomatosis Association in his memory.

Edith "Nell" Jordan
Edith "Nell" Jordan, 81, of Zion, IL passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2004 at her home in Zion. She was born on November 22, 1922 in Savannah, TN and grew up in Fulton, MS as the oldest of four children. After graduating high school, she accepted a bus ticket from a friend and arrived in Zion in 1941. Nell's desire to live and work in Zion resulted in the migration of many of her relatives to the Zion area including her mother and father and siblings. She met her future husband in Zion in 1946 before marrying him in 1948 and worked at Bicket Pharmacy for more than 30 years on and off while raising her family. Nell eventually fulfilled a life long dream of owning her own business when she became owner/operator of the White Hen Pantry in Zion from 1972 to 1989. She was an active supporter of Zion Business Association activities and community events and was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Zion. Nell was a consummate party planner and cook and her favorite activities revolved around celebrating love and life with her family and friends.
Survivors include four children, Vicki (Harold) Humphrey of Trevor, WI, Kevin (Luann) Jordan of Zion, IL, and Donna and Dawn Jordan both of Zion, IL; five grandchildren, Jennifer and Nancy Humphrey of Zion, IL and Elizabeth, Kevin II and Jackie Nell Jordan, also of Zion, IL; a great grandchild, Faith Jordan of Zion, IL; two sisters, Tina (Lester) Powers of Winthrop Harbor, IL and Dorothy (Edward) Herdliska of Waukegan, IL; and a brother, Bill (Lois) Qualls of Winter Haven, Florida. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and a special canine companion named Beauty. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Victor Jordan in 1985; and by her father and mother, Edward Qualls in 1957 and Lucille Qualls Naden in 1998.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2004 at 10 AM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Rd, Zion with Reverend Paul Gerardy Sr. of the Memorial United Methodist Church of Zion officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 from 5 to 9 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to her family will be distributed to Nell's favorite charities. 847-746-1234.

Rose K. Kipp
Rose K. Kipp, age 89 of Highwood, Illinois, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2004.
Rose was born on July 5, 1915 in Mark, Illinois.
Wife of the late John and mother of the late Jack. Sister of Clallia Bouxsein, Amelia Lindstrom, Norma Cervetti and Edward Passini. Aunt of many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
preceded in death by her brothers, Adam, Charles, Meno, Jack and Satimo and her sisters, Eva, Clara and Mary.

Jane E. Rankin
Funeral service for Jane E. Rankin (nee Byers), 67, of Round Lake Beach is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the KRISTAN FUNERAL HOME P.C., 219 WEST MAPLE AVE. (2 blocks west of Rt. 45 on Rt. 176) MUNDELEIN.
She was born November 8, 1936 in Stockton Springs, ME and died Saturday, July 24, 2004 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan.
Jane is survived by her children, Laura (Phil) Martinek, Debora (Larry) Wilson, Donna (Jerry) Nordberg, John (Donna) Sanborn, Mark (Barbara) Sanborn; her loving granddaughter, Jessica; six additional grandchildren, step-grandchildren, Sarah (Justin) Richens, Morgan and Cassie Martinek and two great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Madeleine. Geraldine Rieck
Geraldine Rieck, 77, of Lindenhurst, IL passed away Sunday, July 25, 2004 at Victory Lakes Continuing Care Center. She was born October 27, 1926 in Kenosha, WI, the daughter of the late Michael and Claire (Fischer) Garrison. Geraldine had lived in Winthrop Harbor and Waukegan before moving to Lindenhurst in 2001. Her interests include painting, tending her flower garden and playing with her boxer dogs. In 1946, she married Herman Rieck in Waukegan, IL and he preceded her in death November 25, 1998.
Survivors include her niece, Helen (Phil) Anderson of Antioch; her great niece and nephew, Tracy (Tom) Moffat of Salem, WI and Jim (Michelle) Anderson of Kenosha; and her great great nieces and nephews, Amanda, Justine, Jordan and Dorothy.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Allene Garrison.
Memorial funeral services will be held at 7 PM Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83), Antioch. Interment will be private. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 PM until time of services on Wednesday, In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2211 North Oak Park Ave, Chicago, IL, 60707-3392 in her memory.

Marylou Holverson
Marylou Holverson, 68, of Zion died on Thursday, July 22, 2004 at home following a long illness.
She was born December 18, 1935 in Milltown, Illinois, grew up and graduated high school in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and came to Zion in the early 1950's. She belonged to North Prairie United Methodist Church and in 1995, she retired from First Midwest Bank in Waukegan. She had also served as a Girl Scout leader, was a Teacher's Aid and was a member of PTA of Zion elementary schools and she served two six year terms on the Zion-Benton Library Board, with eight years as President.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Del; children, Phillip (Cindy) Massari, Dawn (Daniel) Elrod and Denise (Barry) Holbrook; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; her mother, Mary Cheffey; a brother, Kenneth (Betty) Chumbley; special friends, Robert and Carol Pye and Dorothy Ostrander; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by first husband, Eugene Massari; a daughter, Debi Sanchez; her father, Kenneth Ray Chumbley; her step father, James Cheffey; and two brothers, Edmund and William Chumbley.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at 10:30 AM at North Prairie United Methodist Church, 5000 W. 9th Street, Winthrop Harbor. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 27th from 5 until 9 PM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. 847-746-1234.

Robert E. Lee
Funeral Service for Robert E. Lee of Mountain Home, AR, will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Taglauer officiating, followed by an Elks Service provided by the Elks Lodge #1714 BPOE. Mr. Lee died Friday, July 23, 2004 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. He was 65.
He was born June 21, 1939, at Black River Falls, WI, to Elvin M. and Bertha Shankey Lee. He married Goldie Turner on May 10, 1975 in Marion, IL. He was a Fitter for North Shore Gas Company. Mr. Lee lived in Mountain Home for nine years, moving from Zion, IL. He was a member of Moose Lodge #1953 and of the Elks Lodge #1714 BPOE. He loved to hunt and fish, woodworking, coin collecting and was a Packer fan.
He is survived by his wife, Goldie Lee; two sons, Jim Stinson of Johnson City, TX, John (Carmen) Stinson of Genoa City, WI; two daughters, Kathy (Nick) Kartheiser of Helena, MT, Sue (Dave) Harmon of Birmingham, AL; four grandchildren, Jason Whitlock of AL, Joanna Stinson of Chicago, Robert E. Lee Stinson of WI and John Allen Stinson, Jr. of WI; three great grandchildren, Ashley, Chelsie and Jacob; one sister, Barbara Lee of Madison, WI; three aunts, Myrtle Manders, Helen Meek and Jean Vail all of Mountain Home, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial cemetery with Dave Harmon, John Stinson, Roy Moubray, Herman Szonn, Roger Ball, Al Beck, John Sporcich and J.L. Turner serving as pallbearers.

Edith Regenauer
Edith Regenauer passed away July 23, 2004. She was born in Kangaroo Island, Australia on October 27, 1901 and moved to Zion, Illinois when she was three years old.
She is survived by her three children, Betty Stanczak, Carl (Suzanne) Regenauer and Helen (Don) Hamlin; her grandchildren, Donald Hamlin II and Carl Regenauer, Jr; and her great grandchild, Donald Hamlin III.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Regenauer, who died in 1974; her parents, John and Alice Wright; her brothers, Charles, Clarence, Wilbur and Paul; and her sisters, Ruth Raetzman, Mildred Miller, Olive Johnson, Beulah Myrum, Mary Elmore, Alice Mitchell and Martha Wright.
Visitation will be held at MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Washington Street, Waukegan, Illinois 847-336-0127 on Monday from ten to 11 AM with services immediately following at the funeral home at 11 AM Monday.

Shirley L. Barton
Shirley L. Barton, age 79, passed away Wednesday July 23, 2003 at Winchester House in Libertyville. She will be fondly remembered for her love of children. Born February 27, 1924 in Necedah, WI to Martin and Olga (nee Ankrude) Hanson. She was united in matrimony to Lanch L. Barton on October 28, 1941 in Waukegan.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years Lanch, her daughters, Diane (Eldridge "Cowboy") Brown of Kenosha and Rebecca (Zenon) Blas of Ingleside. Grandchildren, Phillip, Sarah, Mark, Timothy and Scott. Great grandchildren, Ariel and Chasity. Brother, Francis Hanson and Sister Elaine Amundsen. Many nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by her parents, eight brothers and sisters.

Alberta C. Beaver
Alberta C. Beaver, 88, of Gurnee and Dalton, died July 22, 2003 at Condell Medical Center. She was born May 3, 1915 in Chicago, IL.
She ws a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church; Warren Township Senior Citizens Club, and a former president; St. Paul Friendship Circle, former entertainment chairman; Grayslake Seniors, and former president; and an avid pinochle enthusiastic.
She is survived by three children: Bill (Elisa) Beaver of Bartlett, IL, Darlene (Terry) Riley of Tempe, AZ, and Cathy (Don) Zipperian of Tucson, AZ; six grandchildren: Rachael, David, Renee, Craig, Demi, and Jimmy; two great-grandchildren: Hudson and Isabella.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Beaver, and a son, Jim Beaver.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church. Burial Holy Sepulchre cemetery. Visitation at MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 305 cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL, from 5-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday.

James "Chico" Chamernik
James "Chico" Chamernik, 68, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 24th, 2003, at Pebblebrook Nursing Home in Lake Bluff, IL.
Jim was born on January 13th, 1935 in Waukegan, IL. Jim lived in North Chicago/Waukegan all his life. He was a former member of Mother of God Church and former member of St. Joe's KSKJ Society. Jim graduated from Mother of God School in 1948 and from Waukegan Township High School in 1952, and served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. Jim served as a Foss Park Commissioner in 1991, was a former member of the Waukegan Moose and a member of the Knights of Columbus Waukegan Council. Jim was employed at Johnson Motors, Skokie Valley Asphalt and the V.A. Medical Center where he retired in 1995.
Jim is survived by a loving sister, Mary Alice (Ed) Morrissey, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by nieces Lynn (Jim) Voinovich, Lori (Bruce) Brugioni, Karen (Brad) Totten, and a nephew Dan (Sandra) Morrissey. He is also survived by great nieces and nephews Ryan, Matthew, Madison, Casey, Payton, Dan Jr., and Marianna.
He also leaves behind a faithful friend and cousin Richard Chamernik and a devoted aunt, Albina Opeka.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother Frances (Opeka) Chamernick in 1952, his father John "Chummy" Chamernik in 1962, and a caring aunt and uncle Mary and Peter Jakubowicz.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 26 from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. with Mass at 9:00 a.m., at Queen of Peace Church, North Chicago. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville. Arrangements were entrusted to the SALATA GURNEE FUNERAL HOME.

Alfred J. Engler
Alfred J. Engler, 84 years old, of Antioch, IL passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, IL. He was born March 10, 1919 in Chicago, the son of the late Theodore and Martha (Quinn) Engler, and had lived in Mundelein, IL before moving to Antioch in 1985.
Al served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WW II and was a member of the AM VETS Post #103, Aurora, IL, the American Legion Post 281 of Waukegan, IL, the PLAV Post # 188 of McHenry, IL, and a Life Member of the V.F.W. Post 4551 of Antioch. He was also a member of St. Peter Church and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #525 of Antioch, and was an organizer of the Senior Jam Sessions at Papa Gus' in Salem, WI and Nikos in Twin Lakes, WI. Before his retirement he worked for the State of Illinois Department of Employment and was active in the hiring of veterans. He also owned the former Tic Tock watch shop in Antioch.
On May 29, 1941 he married Dorothy Agnes Kuptz in Chicago and she preceded him in death on February 24, 1992.
Survivors are: three daughters: Diana (Dale) Johnson of Jefferson City, MO, Sharon (Robert) Maziarka of Libertyville, IL, and Marilyn (Rich) Botts of Gary, IN; two sons: Vincent (Pam) of Bristol, WI and Steven (Wanda) of Bloomingdale, IL; three brothers: Donald, William (Arlene) and Raymond (Kathy). He was the grandfather of 12, great-grandfather of 9, and great-great-grandfather on one great-great-grandson.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Theodore.
Funeral services with Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003, at St. Peter Church, 557 Lake St., Antioch. Interment will be in Hillside cemetery, Antioch. Visitation will be at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME of ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rt. 83), from 5-9 p.m. Friday with VFW and Loyal Order of Moose services at 7 p.m.
