Ralph H. Krueger
Ralph H. Krueger, age 80, of Mundelein, passed away on Wednesday August 21, 2002 at VA Medical Center. He was born on June 6, 1922 in Oshkosh, WI.
A member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church and the St. Andrew's Men's Club. Retired Captain in U.S. Army for over 30 years, having served during WWII & the Korean War, he was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Ralph was a prisoner of war during the Korean War.
Survivors: Wife - Polly Krueger of Mundelein, IL; Son - Bradley (Barbara) Krueger of Alma Center, WI; Son - Paul (Cynthia) Krueger of Pleasant Prairie, WI; Son - Peter (Cheryl) Krueger of Bristol, WI; Daughter - Terry McFarlan of Mesa, AZ; 9 Grandchildren including Dawn & Ron Blough of Mundelein, IL and 2 Great grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, August 22, 2002 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Kristan Funeral Home P.C. Visitation 1 hour prior to services, Saturday, August 24, 2002 at 1:00 PM. at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 10 S. Lake St. Mundelein, IL. Rev. Mark Selbo officiating. Interment: Willow Lawn cemetery, Mundelein, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Andrews Building Fund.

Robert Roteman
Robert Roteman, 70, of Waukegan, passed away at home in his sleep on August 21, 2002, after a long struggle with heart and kidney failure. He was born June 29, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York, and moved to this area after being stationed at Fort Sheridan, in the 204th Military Police Division, during the Korean Conflict. As a research and development chemist at Abbott Laboratories, he was proud to have helped to develop and patent many important drugs.
Formerly married to Marlene Roteman (nee Loisel), who has been caring for him during the last 2 years, he is survived by his three children, Andrew (Denise) Roteman of Goleta, CA, Laura (Ron) Roteman Walley of Waukegan, and David (Kathryn Jackson) Roteman of Salem, OR. Bob has five surviving grandchildren, Brian Walley and Elizabeth, Thomas, Patrick and Christopher Roteman, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister Francine (Elden) Weigel, his twin brother Donnie (Lydia) Roteman and his sister-in-law Joyce Roteman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Gertrude Roteman and just recently by his older brother Jerome. Bob will now join his best friend and golfing buddy, Bob Richards, Sr., where it never rains, golf scores always improve, and their tales get forever taller.
Visitation will be on Saturday, August 24, 2002 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF WAUKEGAN, 1521 Washington St. and from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, August 25, 2002. Funeral services will be at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

John Simcic
John Simcic, 73, died August 22, 2002 at his home in Lake Forest where he lived for 14 years.
Husband of Doris E. Simcic; Father of Joy Miller, Robert S. Beyer and the late Randall Simcic; Grandfather of Robert H. Miller IV, Kimberly Miller and Kathleen Simcic; Brother of Mildred (the late Victor) Kozlecar, Eva (the late Raymond) Semro, Donna (Raymond) Simms, Anne (the late James R.) Hickox, and the late Mary (the late Edward) Brunet; Son of the late John and Anna Simcic; Uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1951 where he played varsity football all four years. In 1956 he founded J. Simcic, Inc., a construction/remodeling company that was named one of the top remodeling firms in the 1990's. He was a past board member of Grand Premier Financial, Glen Flora Country Club and Development Council for Waukegan, IL. Mr. Simcic was former owner of Century 21 Maki real estate which he worked to develop into an organization with nine total offices. He also started the John Simcic Educational Foundation to assist students in need. He was an avid golfer and world traveler.
Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made toward mesothelioma research at the University of Chicago Medical Center, c/o Michael Jonen, 5841 South Maryland Ave., MC2115, Chicago, IL 60637-1470 or to the American Cancer Society, 77 E. Monroe, Chicago, IL 60603.

Frank Stritar, Sr.
Frank Stritar, Sr., 93, formerly of Waukegan, past away Wednesday, August 14, 2002, at his home in Oldsmar, Florida.
He was born February 12, 1909 in North Chicago, the son of the late Anton and Mary (Kirn) Stritar. A longtime North Chicago businessman: North Chicago Dairy, Stritar's Creme Delite, and Stritar's Restaurant. He was a lifetime Elks Club member, Lodge #708 and SNPJ member. Since his retirement, he has lived in Palm Harbor, then Oldsmar, Florida.
He is survived by two sons: Frank L. (Frances) Stritar of Safety Harbor, FL and David J. (Betty) Stritar of Punta Gorda, FL; six grandchildren: Susan Stritar of Safety Harbor, FL, Michael (Jennifer) Stritar of Oldsmar, FL, Jeffrey (Beth) Stritar of Homewood, Scott (Renee) Stritar of Antioch, Jackie (Jake) Harmann of Union Grove, WI, and Julie (Craig) Maxwell of Union Grove, WI; also, a sister, Mame Mulaney, and a brother, Edward Stritar.
preceded in death by his loving wife, Christine (Jereb); a brother, Gilbert; and two sisters: Tina Sealing and Pauline Bennett.
Funeral services will be held at the MARSH FUNERAL HOME, Washington and cemetery Road, Gurnee, at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2002. Interment will be at North Shore Garden of Memories.
Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2002.

George B. Watson
George B. Watson, 81, a longtime resident and former business owner died Wednesday, August 21, 2002, at Centegra N.I.M.C. in McHenry, IL.
He was born on September 20, 1020 in Smithland, KY to Thomas and Emma (nee Jones) Watson. He served his country during WW II in the U.S. Army. He was Squad Leader in the 361st Infantry and was awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star Medal in 1945. He was employed as the dining car supervisor with the Burlington North Railroad following the war, and managed and co-owned Holiday Park in Ingleside, IL until 1999. He will long be remembered for the warm hospitality and excellent food provided under his care.
He was a past president and active member of the Fox Lake Rotary, and, a great supporter of the Rotary's Neediest Children's Christmas Fund in the Ingleside and Round Lake area. He was a member of the Medina Shriners, The Rising Sun Masonic Lodge in Grayslake, IL, and the McHenry Country Club. He was also a past president and member of the Fox Lake Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed fishing and golf.
Survivors include: his wife, Marion (nee MacNeal) of Ingleside, IL, with whom he was united in marriage on April 21, 1961, in Chicago; his sons: Robert (Glenna) Watson of Hammond, IN and Kenneth ("Mitch") Watson of Mission Vieja, CA; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Mary Helen MacNeal of Ingleside; and by many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and ten brothers and a sister.
Memorial services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2002 at the Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church, 404 N. Green St., McHenry, IL.
Friends of the family may call from 10:30 a.m. to the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials for the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital, 2211 North Oak Park Ave., Chicago, IL 60635 or to the Fox Lake Rotary Club, P.O. Box 363, Fox Lake, IL 60020, will be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements were completed by the K.K. HAMSHER FUNERAL HOME, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake, IL (The Chapel on the Lake).

Audrey L. Wolfgram
Audrey L. Wolfgram, 55, of Libertyville, IL, passed away Monday, August 19, 2002 at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was born October 10, 1946 in Juneau County, WI and was a former resident of Mauston, WI. Following the onset of multiple sclerosis at a very young age, Audrey found that doing needlepoint helped to exercise her hands and she also enjoyed bingo and traveling.
Surviving are her daughter Laurie (Todd) Brown of Round Lake Heights, IL and 3 sisters, Lucille Wolfgram of Mauston, WI, Lila Gudex of Campbellsport, WI and Sandra Stock of Newton, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Luella Wolfgram and also by her husband Don and a brother Lucius.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2002 at Bethany Lutheran Church in New Lisbon, WI, with Rev. Gregory Daher officiating. Interment will be in New Lisbon cemetery. Arrangements are by the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME in Libertyville.

Stylon Cornelious Bowers
Stylon Cornelious Bowers, 66, of Zion, IL passed away on Friday, August 20, 2004 at the Victory Memorial Hospital, Waukegan, IL. He was born December 3, 1937 in Hughes, Arkansas. He was raised in Chicago, IL and spent most all of his adult life in Chicago and Zion. He was a member of the Christian Valley M.B. Church, North Chicago, IL which he loved dearly. Stylon was a member of the choir and served as an usher. He served faithfully until he was hospitalized on August 20, 2004. He was a hard working man. Stylon began his career in construction and was employed by Lekagus Construction Company, Local 150, where he diligently worked as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 2003.
Stylon Bowers is survived by his wife, Juanita Bowers; nine sons; four daughters; his mother, Fannie Mae Robinson; five brothers; four sisters; and a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren; uncles; aunts; nephews; nieces; cousins; and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Bowers.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at the Christian Valley Missionary Baptist Church, 2690 Argonne Drive, North Chicago, IL with Pastor Henry Woods officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park cemetery, Zion, IL. Visitation will begin at 10 AM at the church on Wednesday. Arrangements by BRADSHAW & RANGE FUNERAL HOME, 2513 Dugdale Road, Waukegan, IL, 847-662-3553.

John Alvin Drosen
John Alvin Drosen, 84, formerly of Lake Villa, IL passed away Friday, August 20, 2004 at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion, IL. On February 8, 1920, he was born in Milwaukee, the son of the late Edmund and Frances (Cordes) Drosen. He moved to Antioch in 1956 and later to Lake Villa in 1983. After 25 years of service with American Motors in Kenosha, WI, he worked various jobs, retiring as a maintenance mechanic. After his retirement, he worked as a security guard at Great America in Gurnee in the early 1990's. He was a member of the UAW and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson with the Stateline Riders. On July 21, 1956, he married B. Corrine Drury in Evanston, IL.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Corrine; his children, David Drosen in CA, John (Jan) Butterbrodt of Cadott, WI, Corey (Robert) Werrbach of Capron, IL and Charles (Carolyn) Drosen of Salem, WI. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father, Ernie Krohn.
Funeral services will be held at 7 PM Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83), Antioch with Rev. Gary L. Curl officiating. Interment will be private in Hillside cemetery, Antioch. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations to the Season Hospice, 1600 Dempster St., Park Ridge, IL, 60068 in his memory.

Ronald E. Madole
Ronald E. Madole, a Fox Lake resident, age 58, passed away early Saturday morning, August 21, 2004 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born in Libertyville to Thomas and Betty (nee Craft) Madole on December 5, 1945.
Ronald served in the U.S. Army for three years.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa, Michelle and Caryn; several grandchildren and his siblings, Patricia (Alvin) Roberts of Spring Grove, Timothy (Lana) Madole of Spring Grove and Pam (Steve) Rose of Lindenhurst.
Connie, his wife of 34 years whom he wed on September 19, 1970 in Waukegan; his mother and his brother, Norman Madole preceded him in death.
Friends of the family may visit on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 from 4 to 8 p.m. at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030. The funeral service will immediately follow at 8 p.m., also at the funeral chapel. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Dept. 77-3968, Chicago, IL 60602.

Jack Peterson
Jack Peterson, 53, of Louisville, KY passed away Thursday at Norton Suburban Hospital. He was born in Minnesota, and was a systems analyst for E.D.S.
Jack served as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and was a member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Atkinson-Peterson; a son, Andy Peterson (Kimberly), a daughter, Elizabeth Peterson; his mother, Dorothy K. Peterson; sister, Julie Peterson (McCray) and 3 grandchildren, Nathan Cavallo, Miranda and Ryan Peterson.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am Monday at his church, 5505 Bardstown Road, with burial at 11:00 am Wednesday C.D.T. at Mt. Olivett memorial Park in Zion, Illinois. Visitation will be from 3-8:00 pm Sunday at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. Memorial gifts may be directed to Habitat for Humanity.

Craig James Powers
Craig James Powers, age 45, of Grays-lake, Illinois, died August 19, 2004 at Manor Care in Libertyville. He was born December 28, 1958 in Calumet City, Illinois.
Mr. Powers was a member of Village Church of Gurnee. He was manager of Advanced Auto Parts in Kenosha, WI.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen; children, Nicole, Melissa, Brittany; a sister, Tamara; his mother, Adrianne; his father, James; and his grandmother, Gertrude Izarra.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 23 at 7 PM with visitation from 3 to 7 PM at Village Church of Gurnee, 1319 Hunt Club Rd., Gurnee, IL. Burial at Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville. Arrangements by MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 cemetery Rd. (847) 336-0127
